  1. Ordered some Corsair Void Pro headphones for Prime Day. I've been putting off a new headset for PC for way too long. I have my cord duct taped and wires are coming out of the ear pieces. XD Its hard to give this headset up because its lasted me 15-16 years. Its just some cheap ass standard Microsoft headphones i bought at target years and years ago. The ear cushions look like cloth because the fake leather coating all fell off or deteriorated. Even with all the wires falling apart, it still works without a hitch. I don't really need turtles for PC, but the Corsair's were on a pretty decent discount, so I went with it.

Nice, I bought a pair of SteelSeries Arctis 3's last year on Black Friday because my old Logitech ones I bought with my laptop had gone to shit. Never really been much into headsets (I always used ear buds back in the day) but I adore my Arctis 3's, much better audio quality then my old ones.

  2. I completed my 6th world completion on Guild Wars 2. It will probably be my last. Mounts definitely made this one much easier to complete, but it still wasn't much fun. My first two runs were done the old school way with WvW map requirements. My third, forth, and fifth were done post HoT with gliding, and elite specs providing me with more mobility and power. This last one took less than half the time, but the hearts are so tedious, it's too much. The Beetle is cool for zipping around the map and unfogging everything. You may pick up a few WP and POI along the way, but if you were to move from heart to heart, half the time you'd just get your boost meter full and you'd be at your destination already. The raptor is still the best for these scenarios. The best thing the Beetle is for is getting to an event fast before it completes. Also the skimmer made maps dominated by lakes and ocean so much faster. With 10 gifts of Exploration, I doubt I'll ever grind out the Gift of Mastery track 10 times to go with it. I kind of wish I would have bought more than I did before that change occurred.

    1. Sledgstone

I hear you about that gift of battle. I should have bought 10 of those damn things when I could have. Meanwhile I have that mastery track set to be always repeating and whenever I see a WvW daily that is "spend currency" I buy some crappy food, get the potion for the reward track and dump it into it. I'm halfway to another gift of battle after a year and I haven't played wvw in over a year. lol.

That beetle is great at long distances but starting with no endurance and the slow build up time its a bit too tedious for me. That and I clip on every bit of ground somehow and stop all my momentum. -_-; I would say it'd be great for the silverwastes but I doubt it will all the little ground outcroppings that it would clip on if a jump wasn't timed perfectly. I bet that beetle would shine on maps like cursed shore where there are no hearts.

I had all of Orr done before the beetle. Its probably the most depressing part of WC because it's so dreary. I knocked it out first this time. ūüėā You're probably right though.

  3. If there is one thing I despise about anime across all genres, its the damn "recap X.5" episode. Nothing makes me cringe more when I load up my funi app only to see this week is a waste of time for one of the shows I watch. I was really irritated that FMP had one after just 4 episodes, and Legend of Galactic Heroes has one this week. Seriously, what a waste of effort and time. Even if I missed episodes, I'd rather go back and see the whole ep rather that get caught up on some clips from it mashed in with everything I've already seen.

On another note, My Hero Academia was freaking amazing this week. Any ep where All Might fights is seriously some of the best content of the series.

And then Steins;Gate 0 just gut punched us in the feels this week with Okabe shortly going back to an alpha world line... oh the feels. The emotional level of this series is brutal. It's been a while since I've felt this much empathy for a character.

I can't remember what series it was but I remember a show having 2 recap episodes and it was done in a way that there was actually about 5 mins of new content in the two episodes that you had to see to know how they got to a location to know what was going on in next episode. -_-; And of course those 5 mins of content was spread out through the episode and all the recap was the characters "remembering" or having a flash back. Screw these recap eps.

    3. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

Probably because something big goes down in episode 8 and they wanted to give us more time to process it. That or they're just trying to draw this out longer to get more viewers/get ratings higher(it's obvious they won't get where they want to in 12-13 eps, probably hoping to get a second/fifth season greenlit). Either way it's pissing me off, just when shit starts getting good they fucking cock block us with a recap episode.

    4. DeathscytheX

Speaking of the feels train. Funi put up the first 4 episodes if Iron Blooded Orphans... geez really? I'm not even over the first big death near the end of season one. I'm guessing they're promoting the blue-ray or something, they normally put a few eps up, and then put the rest up when they're done with the promotion.

  4. When I watched Tokyo Ghoul season 1 and 2 a few years ago, I thought it was the most over hyped pile of shit I've ever seen. Apparently it didn't follow the manga at all. I've been watching season 3 just because its a simuldub, and while I find it more entertaining, it's so disjointed from the first two seasons, it doesn't make any sense as a whole. Apparently they somewhat decided to start following the manga after skipping a few arcs? Apparently they announced season 4 and it's going to skip more between 3 and 4? What a train wreck... They might as well start over.

    1. Sledgstone

I've never seen it but damn that sounds like a disaster.

    2. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

Don't waste your time. Its crazy how much hype and promotion this anime got. I could imagine how pissed I'd be if it was my favorite manga and they just took random parts of it and adapted it with a ton of liberties. Its worse than passing up the manga and making it up as you go.

The first season was just the main protagonist gets turned into a ghoul. He cries a bunch trying to reject his new reality until he is tortured into being a badass... or so we thought, until season two just makes a train wreck out of it. He joins the antagonist organization and they break some powerful ghoul out of a prison... and you never see that guy again afterwards... there wasn't even an explanation as to why they did it. XD Its like they just did it to showcase a fight. At the end of the season the protagonist disappears. So season 3 starts and he's now apart of a ghoul hunting section of law enforcement, with his personality and memories wiped. He has a new identity and he leads a squad of demi-ghouls while struggling to cope with his old persona leaking through sometimes. No explanation of how, when, or why the most notorious and wanted ghoul was captured and brain washed rather than killed. Apparently you have to read the manga to find out.

Its almost like making Dragonball starting with the General Tao arc, then skipping to the Cell Games of DBZ, and then season 3 takes place in the Universe 6 v 7 arc of DBS. XD

  5. You could definitely tell this was the last E3 for this generation of consoles. Super small showcases for everyone this year. Next year's E3 will be back to the ultra hype reels for Sony and Microsoft unveiling the next consoles followed with the games that are being made for them. It will be an off year for Battlefield next year, but the first COD will be by C studio Sledgehammer, since MW4 will be the last COD this gen.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

They need to make digital games purchased to be compatible with all future console generations. I can buy a game on GoG or Steam and have it for life. But for consoles I only have it for that generation unless I want to rebuy it again. If digital games could be carried over with every new console I'd look forward to upgrading.

    2. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

They should have both formats compatible. Digital games should last forever, But I could understand only doing physical for 1 generation back. They should get rid of discs all together though and go to those SD cards that the switch uses. Keep the Blu-Ray drive for PS4 games and blu-ray functionality. They should also do a 4TB HD and quit with the BS on small storage. It would also be nice to have feature to "zip" your unused games so you can unzip them later when you want to play them rather than having to redownload the whole thing. They also need to get their head out of their ass on cross platform. They don't need to repeat the PS3 generation where they fall behind because they got to arrogant. They made a massive comeback this gen, pummeling Microsoft in resounding fashion. Sony has way more exclusives, and that's what sells the console. Let people play across platforms, this would maintain the health of a lot of online game populations by consolidating the playerbase. It would probably save companies resources on having 3 different servers or 3 different partitions of a server for their games. Smaller studio games that have failed may fair better when everyone is playing together from all platforms. Let studios decide what they want to do.. Because I know COD would probably not do this to keep their old games dying so people have to buy the new ones.

  6. This has got to be Destiny's last run. Twice expecting people to pay for a Y2 overhaul can't be sustainable. I don't regret my purchase of D2 because I did get a lot of fun out of it. Bungie just has no idea how to balance a game to appease hard core and causal players. They've reverted the game to get max progression via raids again so I'll probably never play since my clan died off months ago. They either give it all to you easily or make grueling time gates and obnoxiously low drop rates. Like there is no in between here? Now they have some new $100 million dollar deal for a new IP which makes me think they are giving up on Destiny. With even COD ditching the MP season pass, the days of paid DLC are going away and yet Bungie is trying to milk two season passes out of each game. Meanwhile Overwatch is still healthy after 2 years.. match queues are pretty much the same as they were 6 months after launch. No DLC, free heroes and maps, along with constant rebalancing and hero reworks for underpowered characters. I REALLY hope Battlefield V gets this level of support for 2 years until the next main BF game comes out. I'm getting a bad vibe that the launch game will only have like 5 maps or some BS "because Tides of War". Yeah we get it, we'll progres along with WW2, but give us the same amount of maps every launch title has had. Hopefully The Division 2 comes out swinging from lessons learned unlike Bungie. The Division is in a good state right now and if they can release it with all the content this last free patch had, they'll be good to go. Really I just want games to be successes again, I want to stress over what to play instead of waiting for something that's hopefully worth my time. I hope Anthem is amazing for BioWare's sake, and I hope Borderlands 3 is going to be amazing as well.

    1. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

It saddens me that Bungie thinks they can get away with this shit. I mean the expansion looks good (Bladedance making a comeback?) but honestly it's not worth the price tag (especially considering I would need to drop money to get get Curse and Warmind just to play it) or the disappointment tied to it once it's apparent they'll only deliver on half the promises they made. It's baffling how people still give this company money (and how many still praise how great D2 is, even after all the bullshit they've pulled).

Honestly as long as BFV is half of what they're talking about I'll be happy (even if it's only 5 maps but I doubt it, DICE has never really screwed us that badly. Their bosses on the other hand are another story). I won't hold my breath for The Division 2. Outside of R6S Ubisoft has done nothing to make me think it'll be any better than The Division (a game that still hasn't had any story progression beyond how it ended). True the game is in a better place but how long did it take? Are you really ready to invest money into a game that will probably have the same start as the first one? I'm not and unless I'm impressed by what I see once it releases I probably won't (don't get me wrong, I liked The Division for what it was. The story was good and the game play was solid but it just got so tedious without a group to play with. Plus after a while the grind for better gear got boring and wasn't as rewarding as it is in other games (I don't mind grinding gear but I hate grinding when the chances are slim to none that I'll get anything good (I mean come on I still play FFXIV, a game designed to be a grind and I fucking love it because I always feel like I'm working for something tangible))).

Anthem is BioWare's swan song. It better be good because if it isn't we might not see BioWare for much longer. I really hope it's everything they promise it to be but I'm tempering my expectations. I refuse to get hyped by all the youtubers making video's about it or to get hyped in general. I want tangible proof this game is worth my money and that won't come until we get game play footage and actual news worth getting hyped about. Gaming is leaving nothing but a bad taste in my mouth as of late and games as good as Detroit are becoming few and far between (which as a lovely surprise by how good the game actually was). I have only one game this year I've been looking forward to and that's Ace Combat 7 because those games are the only ones I get hyped for (I've never been disappointed by the main Ace series (numbered titles, Assault Horizon was thankfully not a main series staple because you and I both know how much that game sucked)). I just wish we'd get more information on it.

Maybe Bungie's biggest flaw was making the Destiny engine to begin with. They made it playable on the old generation of game consoles and ever since then it's been held back. Perhaps Bungie could make an amazing game if they used an existing game engine and focused soley on plot and gameplay mechanics. But then again they made Destiny 2 just like Destiny 1.. eh.

Its hard for me to get hyped for any game and its been that way for a long time. I'd be hyped for BFV, but after BF1 I still don't think DICE go in the right direction. But if it has BF4's progression system and predictive recoil instead of bullet randomization crap that could really motivate me to buy it.

The only game coming out this year that I am really interested in and will most likely pre-order is Tomb Raider 3. The first and second were both solid games with plot and action and I loved the gameplay.

Nier Automata, Breath of the Wild, and God of War are probably the best games I've played as far as enjoyment factor in the past 5 years. They're all single player games. The problem with MP experiences now is balance is prioritized over fun. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 after the Javelin Glitch and Model 87s were nerfed was just a fucking blast to play... because EVERYTHING was OP as shit... the models were so OP that they were more OP than all the OP stuff. XD The game mechanically may have been a mess, but everyone was on an equal playing field with just about every gun being viable because you could choose in what way to be OP. It balanced itself. That was fun. Basically Esports ruined MP games. Overwatch is about the only game I enjoy that is balanced fairly well... but its purely an objective game with the need for strategy. MW2 demolition, you shoot 4 tubes around the bomb, chuck your nades, call in the air strike, pave low, arm the bomb, and post up the choke point and obliterate everyone that funnels in. XD  Ah back when I try hard carried teams to victory. Now if a MP game can't be esports, they just don't fool with making them.

  7. In 2009 I bought a 32" Sony Bravia TV. It was my first HDTV and I bought it for the release of MW2. Its been an awesome TV, never failing except one of the HDMI ports recently went bad after my PS4 had been hooked to it since I got my PS4. With 4k TV's becoming affordable I'm probably going to upgrade to a Sony X900F 55". Its not OLED, but I don't plan on looking at it at an angle so it should serve its purpose. I'll stick with Sony TVs since its all I've ever used and none of them have ever gone bad on me. My old SDTV 20" VCR combo is still in my Mom's room. XD I won't be getting a PS4 pro though, with only 2-3 years left in this console cycle it will be pointless. I'll wait for PS5 to take advantage of 4k gaming. Plus I want to be able to see these damn snipers on Battlefield that can see me through blades of grass. They probably have 75" TVs though. -_-;

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Lol. With the change to spotting no longer giving everyone a noticeable triangle target to aim for, larger tvs will definitely give a advantage for seeing enemies off in the distance.

  8. I must have started watching Fairy Tail like 4 or 5 years ago. I always got held up by the dub progress. I finally finished the 265 or so eps that are out. Overall I really loved this series despite its tons of flaws. The story was very child friendly as no one really ever dies in a fight. If someone dies, its none of the important characters and they're already dead when they're found. Hell they even brought one back that was supposedly dead the first 3-4 seasons. However where it isn't child friendly is the fan service that progressively gets more abundant each season. Rather than a joke here and there it's bewb flaunting and gratuitous bent over shots. FT does have the most luscious cast of females you could ask for in an anime, and they exploit it the later into the series you get to the point its laughable. I feel like the series peaked at the Grand Magic Games and they ran out of inspiration after that. The whole former enemies turning good got old after it kept happening. I mean Minerva had resting bitch face, and Flare had psycho face to indicate they were indeed villains, so it was odd later to see them get the normal face when they weren't evil anymore. XD What made me love the series is the running gags and the fact that most all the characters had their own fights and stayed on equal footing with Natsu, rather than taking the DBZ approach and having the main character surpass everyone to where only he could do anything of value. Even though Laxus and Guildarts were super mega ultra OP, they were never around when it really mattered. Anyways, I'll be looking forward to the final season later this year. This was by far my favorite opening sequence.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Wait until you see all the ass pulls in the last arc of this series. XD At one point I thought the manga was going to go full hentai. -_-; I hope the guy does make a sequel tho. I read this manga for 10 years and even tho it fell apart in the end, I miss it.

  9. Ancient Magus Bride is simply outstanding. I wish I would have gotten to it sooner. Its like a darker Spirited Away with some XXXholic and Mushi Shi mixed in. From all the promotion Funi did on facebook, it was nothing like what I thought it was going to be. They really need to work on conveying themes better. Its partially why it took me so long to get around too it, because it didn't interest me at first. If you're ever in the mood for a mystical anime, this is the one. The world building is fantastic.

  10. 3 episodes into Stiens:Gate 0, and it's a feels trip. I liked the first one, but I wouldn't consider myself a fan. But this one is just tugging at my feelings with Okabe interacting with Amadeus. On a funny note, its wierd how everyone's tits got huge. Wtf? XDXD

    1. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

XD leave it to you to notice the most important things.

It's been a rough ride and the way things are shaping up (based on all 5 eps) it's going to be another emotional roller coaster. I'm honestly enjoying this more then the first one just based on the emotional tone alone but I still say the first one was amazing in it's own right (I just wish the fucking games would go on sale x.x )

  11. Finished Darling in the Franxx today. Its definitely not for everyone. It starts out confused to what it is. A lot of people could give up on it after the first few eps. What's seemingly a corny mecha series with horny teens quickly evolves into an interesting and mysterious world were a group of kids try to find their place on society and struggle to cope with their emotions. Lately, I've been unintentionally watching series with slow build ups that lead to big payoffs and this is one of them. Having to wait each week for a new episode deprived me of the instant gratification or lack there of I'm accustomed to. The series ends without answering a lot of questions and adding a few more about the actual social structure and why the world is the way it is. But the questions about Hiro's issues and his explainable connection to 002 are all resolved. The animators of Gurren Lagann did this series, and it's easy to see that. Instead of a over the top epic tale, we get a darker world with mysterious creatures that probably wont be explained until next season.

  12. Just got a severance from my old job, and I immediately paid off a credit card. Feels good because that's a monthly payment gone that will act as a buffer for the small pay cut I took at my new job. Plus it was the card with the highest APR. I gotta hold out another year hopefully. My PC is showing signs of its old age, and I'll probably have to upgrade completely in the future. At 10 years old, its mother board is probably severely outdated to rebuild on, 6 of the USB ports don't work anymore, and more are dying. My wireless connection is kinda shit because I think the USB ports cut off for a second and kick me off at random times. I say this because the USB port I had the adapter plugged into died when it was giving me problems, and I put it into a new one and after a few days the same issue started happening again. I had to swap my mouse to a new port because that one died. Even though I haven't been playing GW2, I can imagine getting kicked off while doing something important. My PC case is too small at that. The video card I just bought a few months ago barely fits in it, otherwise I'd strip the old ass wireless card my dead PC had and put it in... although I think I lost the antenna for it. XD I also have plans to buy a new firearm. I sold my 1911 to the FFL I frequent so I could secure a larger down payment for my car. I never carried that behemoth, but I want a revolver since I don't have one. That will only cost me around $600... so that empty credit card balance is already begging to be used. XDXDXD

I'll have to check that out. The front 4 USB ports are never going to work again. The case slants at the top and just the weight and pulling of the cords damaged it over time. The PC would just instantly blue screen on boot up, so I had to disconnect them, but I still have 8 slots in the back. I'm good with the 5-6 I use, but if I lose anymore, it will become problematic. I really don't want to upgrade anytime soon. PC advancement has come to a crawl over the past few years and I wouldn't be jumping by a lot if I did.

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I got the majority of my credit debt trying to provide for my family of 4 while making only $8 an hour for 6 years or so. Groceries, rent and car repair bills were the worst. I make decent money now but that debt has only compounded over the years. -_-; every time i start making progress on it some massive bill usually comes out of no where like a pet surgery at the vet, major car issue and one year I went to the ER with an asthma attack and those medical bills even after insurance took me most of a year to eventually pay off. Discover is very generous with their limits. Lol. I have 21k limit on mine. XD

    4. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

Few things are as demoralizing as when you're about to pay off your debt and something comes up to pretty much add back on to it. -_-; Or takes away the funds you had to put towards it. Mostly car repairs. That's why I bought a brand new car this go around. By the time its paid off, it will still have decent low mileage, very low wear and tear, and be properly maintained. There shouldn't be too many surprises.

  13. Funimation started the dubcast of the Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These. Apparently it's a reboot of the 1988 series Legend of the Galactic Heroes. Never saw the original, but the first two episodes has me pretty impressed. If this series is full of huge 5000-10k ship battles using old school formations and tactics I'll def be hooked. Since the original was over 100 eps, I hope I don't get The Legend of Legendary Hero'ed here after season 1. XD-_-;

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Lmao. I was expecting a season 2 of legend of legendary heroes and it never happened. So disappointing even now.

    2. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

I know wtf. That end of season one was such a cliff hanger. -_-; So much build up and no resolution. I tell everyone that asks me about series to watch to completely avoid that one unless you just want to be let down immensely.

  14. The dub of first ep of My Hero Academia Season 3 finally came out so I caught up on the first four. Holy crap, they aren't wasting any time this season. Shit is already going down! Finished Garo Vanishing Line. It was really good, I want a second season of this era, and they left it open for one. I'm pretty pumped about the movie that takes place in the first era though. Overlord Season 2 was kind of a let down for me. The action was still good but it felt like the season had no real beginning or end... it was like the middle of a season, and there was no apparent turning point or climax. The lizard people happened, and then this whole thing with six arms... but nothing was resolved. Hopefully season 3 is more structured.

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

And I just finished Season 2 of Blood Blockade Battlefront. Pretty fun little series. Decent mix of humor and action.

      Strider Hiryu

Season 2 of Overlord is a lot of setup for whats to come in the next season (Ainz has some pretty big plans according to what I've read). I'm not expecting a lot of action for season 3 or at least the first half but I'm sure we'll be rewarded quite handsomely (if they adapt the chapters in order like they have been). Like I said before things should get quite a bit more interesting going forward.

    3. Sledgstone

I have my hero academia and flcl set to record on my dvr. Im looking forward to watching both series. :D

  15. Just finished season 1 of Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans. I enjoyed it, but man I can't help but notice the parallels with Gundam Wing. A young female working for peace, a semi-emotionless male pilot, an antagonist that disguises himself with a mask in a red mobile suit? XD Eh, maybe I'm looking too much into it, there are more differences than similarities. Since CN has the broadcast rights, I hope Funi eventually gets season 2 on stream... its the only Gundam they have. I will say I'm not the biggest fan of the designs on this one. I liked Gusion and EB-AX2, but that was about it.

Except for the whole fact IBO is gorey as fuck and deals with child soldiers it mirrors Wing perfectly :P

IBO is pretty fucking good. The end fight (of S2) is pretty fucking epic. Probably my third favorite AU Gundam after X and Turn A.

Besides the Barbatos I can't stand the designs of the Gundams, they're either bulky as fuck or underdesigned.

    3. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

I hated Barbatos at first when it had no mid section and the frame was exposed. XD Hopefully Funi gets Season 2 because I'd def like to watch it. Normally when CN gets the rights it takes months for Funi to have it if its not a simuldub. I forgot how long I had to wait for Space Dandy Season 2 but it was a long fucking time.

I haven't even watched the first Ep of My Hero Academia yet because the ep shipped late to funi and they didn't have time to dub it on schedule, so they just put up the sub until next week. XD Yeah I'm too particular about my dubs.

    4. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

Was going to say you could always watch the sub on CR but I know you prefer to watch your dubs, why I'll never know (I mean subs are far superior (j/k)).

Just wait till you see Barbatos's upgrade, that suit is beyond amazing looking (it gets two upgrades in S2, last one is fucking amazing and beyond deadly). Funi has the S2 license but as you said they probably won't stream it until CN is done airing it (which is retarded but meh, CN be greedy). I might end up actually buying it once S2 is released on BD that's how much I enjoyed the show. Not entirely happy by how it ended (I mean I saw it coming a mile away as it's pretty much spelled out throughout the entirety of S2) but I'm generally never happy by how shows end (Gundam shows in particular).

  16. I caught up on Overlord's season 2 simuldub. So far it's entertaining but all over the place. There isn't as much action so far which is disappointing. All these characters are so OP, but that was what was great about season 1. Especially since Ainz vs. Shalltear was an amazing finale with two ultra OP characters going at it like a chess game. However I figure everything happening now is leading up to something bigger. They're spending more time world building in season 2 in which they did very little of in season 1. Plus season 3 was ordered. People can say what they want about Funi, but I bet there are some series out there that would have never been renewed past it's first season 6-8 years ago. Props to netflix too even though their series are hit and miss. I finished A.I.C.O. Incarnation last night, while it didn't blow me away, I enjoyed it.. same goes for ID-0. It's come a long way from Toonami, spending days downloading stuff off Limewire and torrents, or staying up til 4am in hopes Sci-Fi played Akira or Vampire Hunter D

    1. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

Overlord was pretty much saved by the fans and Funi (was extremely happy to see it was green lit for a 3rd season). Season 2 has been hit or miss (still haven't watched ep 13 yet (see CR just put it up), I'll watch it Friday night when I continue watching Steins;Gate) but considering what they're building toward shit will get interesting next season (yea, I read ahead on the wiki for it so I already know whats going to happen). Plus seeing Sebas kick some serious ass has been a high point for me this season (and seeing Cocytus wipe the floor with those lizard people was fucking awesome). I still miss the action of season 1 but this has been a fun trip so far plus it's nice to see them do some character building, I felt last season didn't really introduce the character well enough (well the human ones, though I do wish they'd go into who Victim is a little more then they have. Based on what the wiki says he's the most powerful NPC in Nazerick with the exception of one that has yet to be introduced).

I haven't given anything on Netflix the time of day considering most of what they're producing just doesn't interest me. I give them props for giving original anime a shot but they all pretty much follow the same formula. Shit I still download shit thought I will admit I do a lot less then I did 3 years ago, Crunchyroll has spoiled me too much with all they're getting recently (I'm like a kid in a candy store with all the shit they're getting licenses for).

      DeathscytheX

Kuromukuro was the best thing they've come out with so far IMO. The rest is very mediocre besides AJIN maybe.

  17. So far Netflix is 1 for 3 on their new series. Sword Gai was ok, but it was more like a GARO/Guyver type clone. B: The Beginning could have been better written. Maybe its the story structure that is throwing me off as they are definitely more western in flow. I'll probably watch both for another season. Children of the Whales was pretty enjoyable and my favorite of the three. I definitely look forward for its most definite second season. It was pretty charming in a Studio Ghibli way.

  18. ANIME OVERLOAD!!! What a time to be alive! Netflix has 4 new anime that I I'll give a shot Starting with SWORDGAI and B: The Beginning. New Full Metal Panic and My Hero Academia coming soon. Dragon Ball Super is still being dubbed, and I'm currently enjoying the new Basiliks along with GARO Vanishing Line and Darling in the Franxx.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I noticed Netflix recommending alot more anime to me. I'm glad they increased their offerings. I'll start watching some soon. btw it looks like Dragon Ball Super ended in japan or it's on a long hiatus at this point now that it finished the current arc. I don't know how far behind the dub is but it'll probably be all caught up by summer based on the last episode I watched on toonami.

      DeathscytheX

There are spoilers all over Facebook, I even shared the last fight. XD it looks amazing, but since its subbed I still look forward to seeing all of the Tournament of Power dubbed. I just finished the tournament between Universe 6 and 7 last week. That's all they have dubbed on funi. They generally lag behind if CN gets the rights to air it.

    3. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

Correction, I got up to Goku Black and Goku facing off for the first time. They end in the middle of arcs for some reason and it's really weird. I held off on the first tournament on purpose when I saw it didn't finish it on dub.

  19. With my Nintendo Switch memory filling up fast, I pulled the trigger on a MicroSDXC card. I tried to score a cheap 128gb one off eBay when I first got the switch, but the guy ended up being a fraud and I got my measly $20 back when he vanished from Ebay altogether. After reading how there are a lot of SD card fakes out there, I decided to be a bit more careful. I scored a "like-new" Samsung 256GB card off eBay for $99. It says it was previously used in the sub-line, but honestly I don't know if it actually was or not. The only thing "wrong" with it is that it didn't have any packaging (as stated on the product listing), it was just bubble wrapped and inside of the SD adapter. So it could have been used, or it could have just been a damaged box. He had multiple in stock so I'm thinking these may have been factory second type things where someone damaged a pallet at the warehouse crushing several packages. The guy had a 99.5% rating on over 100k sells, so I felt comfortable jumping on it. After the format I have 230gb on my Switch, so it should last me considering how much smaller switch games are compared to PS4.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

It still blows my mind that Nintendo would make the storage in the switch the smallest and most expensive sd card on the market instead of making it use regular size sd cards.

  20. Ugh, I forget how spoiled I am watching Netflix series where all the episodes are loaded in at once. Catching up on all these Simuldubs on Funi is like hitting a dead end when I reach a point to where I have to wait weekly. I started some more series. I was hesitant to start GARO -Vanishing Line- but I'm glad I did. I loved GARO: The Animation, but GARO -Crimson Moon- was kinda lack luster and I didn't finish it. Each series takes place in a different timeline with different characters that dawn the Makai Knight armors. The original was Medieval like, Crimson Moon was more feudal Japan themed, and VL is modern times. At first I thought it was gonna be some macho bullshit, because the main character is so western with big ass muscles. XD I was pretty surprised. But so far its excellent, and the Armor suits are actually drawn instead of CGIed like the first two series which is a pleasant surprise. First brawl I saw was so Michael Bay-like with a shaky cam and I was like "oh boy, not this" But ever sense they haven't really done it.

  21. So total gut punch this week. The company I've worked for for almost 17 years of my life is closing the store I work at after filing bankruptcy. The lease is up on our building, and despite being probably the 4th best grossing store in the district, we're all out of a job by next month. And they couldn't have done a shittier job of letting anyone know. They just stopped shipping our dry grocery and perishable orders 2 days before they told us, and blamed it on "transmission errors".

But Luckily I have some solid connections and already lined up a job at Publix, which I feel is the future and should have jumped ship a few years ago. I was too complacent with my tenure and vacation time. But I'm only losing around $1.48 an hour just to throw stock full time and not be a manager. That's how much better they pay. Hopefully I'll be working different hours to where I can play games with everyone again. But for now its peace of mind since I just bought a new car.

Wal-Mart doesn't have as much dominance here as they do else where, they do build a lot of locations to try and put others out of business, and they do indeed hurt competitors, but they don't kill them. People despise Wal-Mart in my area with a passion. When I first started the grocery business there was just Wal-Mart, Delchamps, Bruno's, Food World, and my company Winn-Dixie. WD focused on customer service and superior meat products, and it served us well. Delchamps was a unionized chain, they went out of business simply because the wages got too high and you couldn't downsize to stay alive because of union rules. People may think I'm crazy to be pro right to work over unions, but I've seen what it does to companies. High wages is only as good if the company can stay in business. Unions may be a good thing in different industries, but it doesn't work for the retail world.

Bruno's soon followed by getting bought out several times and just eventually died. Winn-Dixie being the only legitimate competition to Wal-Mart out of the blue decided they wanted to go with lower prices. Lowing prices means less money from sales. You'll naturally underperform from the previous year when everything costs less... and along with the CEO being a greedy fuck, things started going south. Payroll was cut, less people in the stores, customer service went down. We were told to perform at the same standards with half of what we had. Obviously that's impossible. Eventually we hit bankruptcy for the first time in 2005. Companies generally NEVER survive this. I can't think of a single big retailer that ever has... but we did thanks to hurricane Katrina. Partly because we opened back up first, generating a reputation of being there for the community, and partly because we totally ripped off the insurance company by reporting much higher losses than we really had. You won't find that on any record, but as the guy that was scanning out each item 10-15 times, I can tell you everyone was doing it because they were told to do it.

Once again our prosperity was squandered by wasteful execs taking private plane trips instead of 2 hour drives to prance around stores and tell you that you needed to do better. In 2011 we once again filed for bankruptcy and were purchased by a private equity firm that owned BI-LO. This was the writing on the wall, as since then everything got progressively worse each year with more position slashing, hour cutting, and draconian inventory control. We were no better than a third rate off brand cost savers chain. By this time Publix and Rouses Markets moved in to add brand new competition we haven't faced in years. Publix reminded me of what we once were. They loaded their store with hours and groceries. Prices are high but customer service is #1. When you make high end stores, you don't cater to people with food stamps or low income in general. It just doesn't work, they wont buy anything that isn't on sale, and they'll go to Wal-Mart for that.

So as of Wednesday, WD filed bankruptcy again for the 3rd time. Publix is a Fortune 100 top company to work for, and they are employee owned, so no CEO. Their assistant department heads make more than I did as a MOD, and their MOD's make double what I was making. I look forward to the new opportunity.

Congrats on the new job. I hope it works out well for you. I hate how ceo's and the higher executives make literally hundreds or thousands per hour compared to the average worker. Some people say it's because they are never off the clock and they're literally on call 24/7 but that's a load of crap. It's like those toys r us corporate employees with their million dollar bonuses they give to themselves literally months before bankruptcy.

Wal-Mart is strong I  the grocery department here but their meats suck ass. And i know for a fact almost everything is delivered to the store frozen. All the hamburger meat, chicken breast, everything has already been frozen before. Even all their deli/ bakery fresh cookies. The biggest grocery stores here are Wegmans. That place is quality that Wal-Mart will never achieve with its current grocery business model. The fruit at wegmans is so good I have never once seen a single bad strawberry in a package. That store is open 24/7 and it's always busy. Costco is another recent major competitor. And Topps is still in business for now until they go bankrupt.

    4. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

Yeah Wal-Mart isn't about to pay a butcher $20 an hour. Nothing beats fresh meat, especially when it comes to beef. Chicken is always prepackaged everywhere you go, but not necessarily frozen. Companies aren't going to take the risk with salmonella, its not worth it with everyone looking to sue you for anything... and honestly I wouldn't trust any business... there is always someone being lazy. XD

  22. Got caught up on a few of the Simuldub's Funimation is running. Basilisk: the Ouka Ninja Scrolls caught my eye since I did enjoy the original. So far the action is pretty good. It takes place 10 years after the first one ended... or so it says until there is a time jump after the 4th episode. Its very different from the first as its more of your standard ninja anime rather than some tragic love story. I'm glad it did the time jump though because I was feeling like it was gonna be another "kids beat adult fodder" type thing. I also started Darling in the Franxx since it's getting so much hype. Its basically Gurren Lagann style animation with a ton of sexual innuendo. Its catering to my craving for a mecha series so far.

  23. I've watched so much anime since getting Funimation, I can't remember half of what I watched. I'll see something I remember watching and enjoying but i can barely remember any of the story. I guess I can tell what I felt was truly great when I can remember what happened. It doesn't really take much for me to enjoy a series without it being a favorite. Here is what actually stood out to me in the last year whether it came out in 2017 or not... none of these are more than 2 years old.

    Mob Psycho 100
I adore this anime, and its a close second to My Hero Academia. It's unique blend of purposely plain character designs, mixed with its batshit psychedelic fight sequences, along with the comical still expression scenes sets it apart from the norm we've been getting over the past few years. Its wacky and fun.

    Drifters
As a history nerd I really enjoyed this series. The animation and character designs are top notch, and the fight scenes are really good. The Hellsing people did this one and it has the same gore level. Its also one of the better Dubs out there.

    My Hero Academia
Easily my favorite series I've seen in a while. Unique characters, great fights that never drag, excellent background music that properly sets the tone, and superb animation. This is #1 on my recommendation list for anyone looking for a new series to watch. Christopher Sabat brings his Major Armstrong type persona to Allmight, and its great. XD

    Kuromukuro
This one is on netflix. Its a fun watch. Good action, comedy, mecha design, and fights. Its not on the level of Aldnoah.Zero or Gun X Sword, but its definitely more entertaining to watch than Knights of Sidonia.

    Lupin III part 4
Not much to say other than its classic Lupin. Although this season was a bit more connected with an overall story arc rather than several single standing episodes. The animation keeps it's classic designs with modern shading and a much more fluid motion. The new recurring characters were also well done.

  24. Holy cow there seems to be a subscription crate for everything now. AC Filters, Clothes, Bras, Candy, etc. XD I actually just signed up for Umai Crate. It seems to be the most unique and best value. Its just a box full of different Japanese instant ramens. I'll report if its any better than the cheap shitty ramen you can get at the grocery store. For $25 a month, the box seems to be full of 7-9 bags/boxes/cups of various types. If I'm not impressed with the first box, I'll cancel it and feel like it was worth trying something interesting. I watched a few youtube unboxings and taste tests and it seems to be pretty well received, even in the comments on their facebook posts. I recently had authentic ramen at a local hole in the wall and it was amazing. I always thought ramen was just that shitty Nissin stuff. XD Some of the videos I watched, its def a little more complex than just pouring hot water into noodles and a tiny spice packet. Some of them have multiple packets to enter in before and after water is added. And apparently there are suggested fresh add ons you can buy separately at the grocery store. Things you obviously can't dehydrate like hard boiled eggs.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Everything is rng now, even our food. Lol. Definitely let me know how that ramen turns out. I've had a few slightly fancy ones with multiple packets. It had a packet of freeze dried veggies, a spice packet and a broth packet. It wasn't that impressive tho. My favorite ramen is still the nong shim brand kimichi ramen. It has a nice spiciness to it that nothing else really matches in terms of flavor and its only $1.20 per bowl at the store. For some reason it's sold in the international section instead of with all the other ramen.

    2. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

It was either this one or the Candy Club. I don't want to feel obligated to destroy 3 tubs of candy a month. It just seems so unhealthy. At least Ramen lasts a good while before having to be used. XD

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Before you know it you'll have a stock pile of ramen that'll turn into christmas presents. XD Everyone will remember it as the christmas you gave ramen to everyone. XD

  25. Being in the grocery business for over a decade and a half you see a lot of product flops, successes, bait & switches, and other flat out BS. In one year I watched Kellogg's decrease the size of their cereal box contents by .5oz-3oz multiple times. They kept the box height the same and made them marginally slimmer each time to make it less noticeable. When Eternal water first hit the shelves it was from "Natural Springs in Norway". One day a coworker noticed it tasted different, and then noticed the bottle now said "From a municipal water source in California". XD I've seen Edy's Ice Cream downsize their containers, and then return them to the old size a year later calling it "Now 20% more!" Nah, you just gave back what you took. The biggest scam of the century is Halo Top ice cream and everyone that's copying it. Halo Top is just jet puffed ice cream. Breyers makes their version, and now Ben & Jerry's is going to make their line of it. You're paying for deceptive portion control. The only reason they are "low calorie" is because there is less ice cream in the cup. Since a pint is by volume and not by actual weight, most people fall for the this trick. You're paying the same, if not more money for the ice cream version of a bag of chips half filled with air. Don't support this crap. Just get regular ice cream and eat less per serving. On a final note, Breyers doesn't even call their product ice cream anymore. Its "Frozen Dairy Dessert". XD WTF I'm glad I have access to Blue Bell. Its still a half gallon, and its still ice cream. http://www.mouseprint.org/2013/01/21/breyers-converts-ice-creams-to-frozen-dairy-desserts/

That big n tasty was my hamburger of choice back when it came out. I wasn't aware they still made them. Burger king burgers are trash but damn their fries are the best. Surprised the hell out of me last month when I broke my burger king hiatus. Those fries are damn good. There's still no Hardees or Carl's Jr anywhere near me but i still see their commercials, same with sonic drive thru. Those Hardees commercials are alot better now. Lol. That slider double burger looks good. Wendy's and 5 guys are the best fast food burgers around here. I'd go to 5 guys more often if they had a drive thru.

    3. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

Five Guys is amazing, but I don't consider it fast food since you can spend $15 there. I always get the double cheeseburger with everything on it. Wendy's Baconator is one of my favorites.

I like the regular number 1 Dave's single. I still like the Jr bacon cheeseburger if I get like 3 of them. They used to be so much bigger 10 years ago. The baconater has to much bacon for me. Feels like I'm prepping my arteries for a heart attack whenever¬†I eat one. ūüėā
