Day 2 of being back to work and I'm dead/exhausted. Good god these 10 hour days are rough, so not used to it (not to mention my feet are killing me, my shoulder hurts like hell, and my hands are stiff and ache all over (this assembly shit is not easy on your body)). If you don't hear from me for awhile I'm probably dead from exhaustion (and I have mandatory overtime this week too so no three day weekend , just got to think of all that lovely money).

I'm pretty much Pigpen from Peanuts when I get off work. I literally look like all I did all day was roll in dirt, oil, and whatever else I come across (not to mention sweaty as all hell, my job is pretty messy). That won't stop me from going shopping after work (which I fully intend to do tomorrow once I get off), the people of Walmart can suffer for all I care (they made me suffer for for 4 years while I worked there now it's there turn).
Oh I'll make time for Overwatch, no need to worry there (just need to buy it first). I'll just cut out Twitch/Youtube watching that night (I'm sure I can miss watching Matt's stream for one night) and it's pretty much a guarantee I'll be playing it every weekend once I'm done with FFXIV business. I can't promise no 6 hour play sessions like our TF2 adventure, I'll pass out before we finish
-
Being that dirty is nothing compared to some of the farmers I've seen shop at my local grocery store when they get off work. I've seen them come in with cow manure crusted up to their knees. If they bend over to pick something up it'll break the crust and all the fresh stink fills the entire store.
-
Oh god I hated when farmers came in like that when I still worked at Walmart. Thankfully I grew up around farms/ranches so I'm somewhat immune to the smell (still doesn't help when you smell it for the first time in years, damn near knocks ya out).

After 4 months of going through hell to find a job I finally landed one today (start on Monday). Damn good thing I did, I'm almost out of money (my computer fund went bye bye, need to start saving again). Once I get my first paycheck I'm picking up Overwatch, I need something to take my frustrations out on (and BF4 and R6S just aren't cutting it).
-
Sounds great! Good luck with those 10 hour days. I've had 2 jobs where I've done four 10 hour days in a row. Its great at first but after 6 months that schedule started wrecking me with eye strain.
-
While I'm not overly excited by 10 hour days the three days off makes up for it plus I've done it more than a few times (I've done back to back 13 hour days before, those are a lot rougher the 10 hour days back to back).
-
Damn. Screw 13 hour days. x_x

So the free Windows 10 upgrade disappears and I find out I have 102 updates for Windows 7. What the hell Microsoft? You don't tell me I had these upgrades when they went live and stick me with roughly an hour and a half download and install time. I feel like I was being punished because I didn't choose to upgrade X.x
-
Yea, substitute upgrades for updates. Apparently my mind is trying to sabotage me.
-
I noticed the same issue on my laptop when I went to upgrade it. Turns out it stopped installing windows 7 updates on my laptop back in september of last year. Windows update refused to install anything for me last week including windows 10 and I had to manually install 3 specific windows updates just to fix the windows update software just to upgrade to win 10. I was able to bypass those 97 windows 7 updates tho and go straight into win 10. But that really aggravated me when I saw the amount of security upgrades my laptop was missing out on for over 7 months.
-
Heh, the sad thing is when I got up this morning I see I have even more updates

While I have yet to watch BvS all the way through (I skipped around just to see if it was as bad as many have said it is, I'll probably end up watching it all the way through this weekend) Affleck has my full endorsement to continue to play Batman until he's sick of it (not like my endorsement means much). His portrayal is by far the best one I've seen since Michael Keaton (I liked Christian Bale's portrayal but Affleck is just so much better) and I can't wait until they finally film and release the new Batman standalone film, it's going to be epic (and Affleck is directing it).
-
The movie wasn't as bad as everyone made it out to be. I saw an article today saying it was the lack of humor that gave the preception. Maybe so... but sometimes hero flicks get too carried away with humor like it's a Deadpool flick before Deadpool ever came out in which it worked perfect in. It was very serious and dark, and i guess thats a turn off to the masses. I remember reading that the original ending to Interstellar was Cooper going into the black hole and you didn't know if he ever made it back. It scored poorly within focus groups so they changed it.
This is off subject kinda, but I miss those types of films that take a bold chance like the end of Inception or the end of John Carpenter's The Thing (the 1982 one). Most moves are full of predictable tropes and clichés, but if you venture out of that zone, critics rip you apart. -
From what little I gathered in my skipping about the movie actually does look good but I'll post my fully detailed thoughts on it once I actually watch it all the way through (though I will state I don't like Eisenberg as Luthor, that was a complete miscast in my opinion). I actually prefer serious and movies, even more so with heroes. I've never been a really big fan of superheroes because I never grew up reading comics and I rarely watched the cartoons (my superheroes as a child were the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers (yea, I was a huge PR fan), and the Transformers) but what little I've gathered there wasn't a lot of humor in the comics and I'm happy this is the first real film to approach that aspect. The humor in Deadpool worked because it's Deadpool, an anti-hero that doesn't even take himself seriously. The humor also works in the Avengers because, while everything going on is generally serious, the timing of the jokes is just so well done to help break the tension.
I loved the ending to The Thing, that's one of my all time favorite movies. I wish more movies took chances like it did (I haven't seen Inception so I can't really comment on it but I do know how it ends and I think, given the whole premise of the movie, that was a perfect way to end it). Critics these days want to be entertained and not given a whole hell of a lot to think about, they want Michael Bay and JJ films (lots of explosions, lens flare, etc). Very rarely does a completely original film or a film that takes massive chances well received. I mean look at Chappie, it got shit reviews but I absolutely loved the movie. While it's not a completely original idea and sure the film has quite a few shortcomings but it's honestly one of the best movies I saw last year (and I didn't see it till I bought it and on BD none-the-less) because I actually liked the idea they were presenting and I loved watching Chappie grow throughout the film, going from being an infant to an adult persay (and it's a good look into how self-aware AI will most likely evolve when we reach that state). On the reverse of that look at Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The film took very little in the way of chances and recycled most of the plot from A New Hope yet it still receives critical appraise. Don't get me wrong it was a good movie but it took the safe route and mostly did well on it's name alone. This is why Hollywood is dying and they're too stupid to see it (it's also the reason why the Game Industry has been severely lacking in quality games over the years (and why it's slowly imploding in on itself) but that's for another discussion), completely original ideas and risk taking is frowned upon and no one dares take the chance to step out of the safe zone.

I hated Eisenberg as Luthor. He was completely wrong for the role. It was like he was trying to be Heath Ledgers joker instead an extremely intelligent evil businessman. Idris Elba would have been a great Luthor. And the creation of Doomsday was horrible. They could have just made him come crashing into the atmosphere on an asteroid like in the comic and it would have worked much better.

Just got done trying out the Hawken release for PS4, gotta say its fun as hell. Still learning the game but I find it more enjoyable to play with a controller then I did with a mouse and keyboard in the PC Alpha release. Definitely going to be playing quite a bit of this going forward (just need to get 98,000 HC to get the sharpshooter mech).
-
I believe the download was 4.9 gigs, didn't get a chance to look at how much space it took installed.

Well I learned an important lesson today while playing, teamwork is a massive part of this game especially considering how mechs are set up (they must of dumbed the game down considerably from its original launch as there is no way to really customize mechs that I can see beyond appearance. I remember in the Alpha that we were able to customize weaponry but I don't see it on this version of the game (which sucks, some mechs are awesome but have shit weaponry)). I'm surprised how well a coordinated team can wipe the floor with the other team if they work together (and this is in Team Deathmatch, I haven't even tried the other game modes yet). One of my matches consisted of me getting the only kill and spending most of the match watching myself and my teammates getting destroyed left and right (I will say some of the death animations are hilarious). Of course this game also favors those who have unlocked the stronger, heavy mechs (Assault mechs just get the asses handed to them as they have no long range weaponry). I really can't wait to unlock the first sharpshooter mech so I can start wiping the floor with people (I was wrong it's only 9800 HC (I'm only 1300 away from it), the upgraded version is 25,000 HC).
If you do start playing I highly suggest doing the tutorial first (the first one, the other two if you want to get practice in but the game is pretty good at matching you with others around you're Pilot level). It does an excellent job of teaching you the controls and the basics of the game (it does, however, not teach you effective gun ranges as the mech you use is a Type-B (mid-range mech) with mid-long range weapons (like I said if you unlock the Assault mech you're in for a rude awakening as it's a CQB mech). I highly suggest reading the descriptions of the guns on the mechs you might want to unlock so you know their effective ranges and also pick up the free PS+ mech they have in the store, it's a Type-A mech (light weight) with seeker missiles for both weapons but only unlocks at rank 5 I believe).

Cool. I'm going to try it but I don't know how much time I'll put into it. I'm trying to get thru some of my backlog of games. I'll get a new graphics card soon (assuming I can buy one before they go out of stock) and once that happens I have a crap ton of pc games to play on max settings.

Sigh, after watching so many live streams of Total War: Warhammer over the last two days I totally want to buy it (even though I've never had any interest in Warhammer before). Sadly my laptop would probably kill itself (which is why I never bought Shogun 2) and I can't afford it due to that whole being jobless thing going on.
-
Its visually epic I'll give them that. I haven't played a RTS game since Warcraft 3. I'm so behind the overall learning curve, I doubt I'll ever get into one like I could another MMO or FPS.
-
I just skimmed thru a couple videos of the gameplay and watched the trailer. There are so many troops on screen at one time it makes SC2 look small in scale. The game looks great, but it looks almost overwhelming to me.

Finished watching Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt, a 4 episode ONA adapted from the manga. Really enjoyed it and it's a lot darker and more gruesome than any of the other UC series (especially Zeta, that show is freaking dark but this one takes the cake) to date. The soundtrack alone is worth watching this for (if you like Jazz, they use it very well throughout the 4 episodes) if you're not into the dark gruesome stuff. Not to happy with how it ended (quite a cliffhanger, hoping for another run of episodes or for the upcoming movie to wrap it up) but that's to be expected of a show adapted from an unfinished manga. 8/10, highly recommend it for anyone with a passing fancy for UC Gundam.
-
Sounds intriguing.
-
Extremely interesting and has by far one of the most interesting Zakus and by far one of the coolest Gundam designs to come from the OYW.

Finally finished watching S1 of Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans. I have to admit, this is the first AU Gundam I've enjoyed since I watched Turn-A Gundam (yea, UC extremist Strider actually likes an AU Gundam). I have to say it was a lot darker than I expected it to be and was certainly a fun ride. I'm really looking forward to S2.

Watched Forged in Fire on the History Channel this morning since I had nothing better to do, show is a rather interesting concept but a lot more fun to watch then other shows like it (similar concepts like Chopped and what not). Plus one of the episodes had Ilya from Man at Arms: Reforged on it (was interesting to watch him work by himself).

Some of those horses were fucking jackasses. Oh how I miss that show.

Praetorian was my favorite because he went balls to the wall whether the rider wanted him to or not.

I finally got around to beating The DIvision's story (thougth I'm still not 30). Gotta say, for an MMOish type game it has one hell of a story. I'm actually kinda hyped about the future DLC's now.
-
Rightstuff has Ronin Warriors on sale and I'm debating whether I should buy it or not. Gah, get a piece of my childhood back or let it slip by? X.x
-
I bought my old Ronin Warriors DVD boxset over 5 years ago and never regretted it. The set I got was dual sided dvds. One side was the original japanese subbed version and the flipped side was the english dub edited version. That english version was my childhood. Its hard watching the japanese subbed since the character I always new as Anubis was actually the name of one of the other enemies. x_x
-
Sadly this is the sub only release which is why I'm debating buying it or not as I've only seen the dub version (which is what I have fond memories of).
-
Oh, damn. That dub version is the main reason I jumped on the boxset I have now. Its so heavily edited, it needed to be on its own dvds. Even the commercial breakaway clip in the dub is different.

I'm quite happy with the gameplay in The Division. Really good cover based shooter but I will say this, NPC marksmen need to be nerfed. If you're not watching you're ass they can one shot you X.x

I like the marksman variant of the Scar. The MP7 melts things like crazy, buy I like the Vector's stability.

https://www.vg247.com/2016/02/20/the-division-todays-mission-is-to-kill-as-many-named-elite-cleaners-as-possible/ looks like there is a daily today. Interesting.
-
That would explain the random Cleaner patrols I ran into while I was solo hunting rogues in the DZ today. Meh, I'd get more into it but I'm bored with it now and have no one to really run DZ with (plus I need to start getting ready for the FF patch on Tuesday).

Well Gamestop officially fucked me, no Division beta access for me (even though it was guaranteed with pre-order). Sigh, guess I'll have to watch all the videos about it
-
You're missing out on that awesome orange hazmat gear, it's all the rage these days. Can't be in a societal breakdown without your orange hazmat gear.
-
Wouldn't orange hazmat gear give away your position easier? Wouldn't a better pre-order bonus be something like a pitch black tactical suit?
-
LMGs need to be toned down on muzzle rise... They are almost unusable. Either that or they need a damage buff. X_x

Well I picked up MGSV, DA: Inquistion, and the FFX/X-2 remake today at Walmart. $85 for all three games, not bad but now I need to find the time to sit down and play them all >.<
-
Nice haul.
-
Considering the way I am I'll probably do every Side Ops in the game, I'm OCD about shit like that.
-
I bought the uncharted collection for $26 at newegg. and wolfenstein on psn. With my current back log I'm glad I didn't get mgs yet. Lol.

Boba Fett is so OP and so much fun to play. 20 kills with him to end out the match I played. I know what hero I'll be playing as everytime I get the powerup
-
On a different note, I melee killed Vader. I got it on video.
-
Brave man you are to get into melee range of Vader. Boba's blaster is a 2 hit kill if you hit them in the chest. The man is just unstoppable.
-
Have you tried Solo? He is the same way minus the flying... honestly I cringe now when people pick Luke and Vader... Solo and Fett are superior in every way. A buddy was getting mad spawning on me when I was Solo because I kept charging into groups of imperials and he'd get railed while I was having fun mowing them down.

So Knights of the Fallen Empire is pretty amazing. Gotta hand it to BioWare, they really outdid themselves with this expansion
-
Nice. I wish I had more time for another MMO. I'd be all over that.
-
I know that feeling. That's the reason you see me play GW2 so rarely. I play 3 MMO's already (TOR, STO, FFXIV) and I'm trying to get through the KoFE story by Tuesday so I can devote more time to STO since the new season (mini-expansion) goes live. Deals with the mirror-universe so it should be fun.
-
Damn job and everyday life getting in the way . I just recently pulled a WoW player over to GW2 with F2P, she was so reluctant, but now wants to buy the game. I'd def play more TOR if I had the time, I really enjoyed it.

-
Just got a beta key to the Rainbow Six Seige beta going on this weekend. This should prove to be fun
-
So I got the Galaxy Note 4 today since it was time for my upgrade, damn is the phone huge. Can't wait to check out all the nice features on it though
-
Just finished Turn-A Gundam and I have to say it was a great show. I think it ranks up there with Zeta Gundam for my favorite Gundam series.
-
I've heard a lot of positive things about Turn-A.
-
I did to (mostly from aqu) which is why I decided to buy it. The pacing leaves a little to be desired but overall this is Tomino's best work outside of Zeta. The characters are well written, the story is quite amazing (and it does a superb job of tieing all Gundam series into it's timeline), and while lacking in fights (more of a plot and character driven story) the fights that are there are intense and satisfying. Definitely a Gundam series to check out.
-
-
Just saw the Minions movie and I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Totally worth the ridiculous price to go see it
-
Luckily for me, the carmike theater that I have does "Stimulus Tuesday" where movies are $5 all day. Its about the only day I go see movies anymore. lol
-
Damn that's a steal. I only wish they did that here.
-
That movie does look pretty funny. I'm screwed with expensive movie theaters that are all a 30 min drive from my house. There is a new one opening next spring 10 mins from my house tho. I'll be watching more movies then.
-
-
Yea, Right Stuf is definitely going to be getting all my money for the next year. They just licensed all of the Gundam series that have yet to be released in the states (plus the original and Zeta Gundam). Anyone want to donate to the "Get Strider his Gundam shows" fund?
-
I bet all that Gundam is going to cost quite alot.
What series hasn't been released in the states yet? Gundam build fighters? When they make another Gundam series like 00 or seed I'll get hyped again I'm sure.
-
Gundam ZZ, Victory Gundam, Turn-A Gundam (first part was released last month, still need to order it), and Gundam X (yay, my fav AC series is coming over). Plus the movies for Turn-A. I will be so very poor but I'll make sure to get in The Division and Battlefront. I also still need to buy Gundam Unicorn and hopefully Gundam: The Origin will be picked up as well once it's done releasing. Gah, I'm like a kid in a candy store right now.
-
That is alot of Gundam!

Sigh, the place where I got my new job has it's grand opening on Wednesday. So not looking forward to it. If you don't see me for awhile after Wednesday I probably died from being overworked.
-
What makes this worse is I'm management now, the first time I did it I was a lowly peon. Starting to wish I was a peon again
-
At least it's not black friday.
-
Black Friday is almost easier to deal with then a Grand Opening but only slightly. Luckily it's a grocery store so I don't have to deal with that Black Friday shit anymore.
