Got a Galaxy S8+ today. So far I like it a lot. My other phone had too many issues in the end, and it all probably has to do with being an unlocked phone. I know these companies alter the software on their devices to run more smoothly with their networks while at the same time forcing you to buy from them. 15 years ago it wasn't that way. But with how complex the software has become, its pretty easy to fix the system in your favor. When the rep tried to look up my phone for trade in value it has none. He was so confused himself.

I finished LoTR: The Fellowship of the Ring yesterday. Great novel, but if I ever read it again I'll skip the first 150 pages of hobbit only adventures. lol. After that chunk the book turned out to be great. And the fan theory about Gandalf telling them "fly you fools" as in get to the eagles is debunked to me. Theory:

In the novel the word 'fly' was used as the word run in multiple instances. It was just the writing style. I'm glad they kept that scene like that in the movie, but Gandalf had no secret meaning when he said that. He was simply telling them to run for their f*cking lives or they'd all die in Moria.

Battlefield 1 premium is on sale for $29.99 for pc but it's still full price for console players. No thanks EA. I'll just hold onto my money then. 😬

RIP Jerry Lewis. I remember watching Dean Martin/Jerry Lewis movies when I was young. He made me laugh as a child.

I just finished Drifters on Funimation. Its from the same people that made Hellsing. This was a better product IMO. I honestly don't get all the love for Hellsing as its ending is shit, and a lot of stuff is never resolved. The premise of Drifters is that legendary historical warriors/fighters/tacticians passed on to a different realm when they died and end up on the good or evil side of a new war. You have people like Rasputin, Anastasia, Joan of Arc, Sundance Kid, Butch Cassidy, and a lot of Japanese legends... most notably Oda Nobunaga. Whats strikingly controversial is that Jesus is pretty much an evil overlord, even though they cover his face and call him the "Black King" the fact that he has holes in his hands, and can heal, and produce food out of nothing makes me laugh when I looked it up and the wiki says "His identity is still a mystery". You can just listen to the stuff he says and know who it is. Anyways, the action is great, the gore is on the same level of Hellsing, and the story is really good. Season 2 should be coming out in the future.

So I preordered the standard edition of Destiny 2. I'll let you know if downloading the Beta is worth it since I'll get early access. I have a feeling there might not be any open world like D1. They haven't shown any at all if you think about it. They'll probably just be a strike, the first mission, and PvP. I hope I'm wrong, because I'd rather just run around a map and test out weapons more than anything else.

I'm adopting a cat from the shelter. We went there last saturday and picked her out. A little kitten 4 months old. We're waiting to hear back from the place about when to pick her up. They give her full vaccinations, spay and a month of flea treatment. They have to spay her before they can release her to us, so we just gotta wait a few more days to find out when we can get her. They got hit with multiple large hoarding cases recently of saved animals and theres alot of volunteers there now. I hope this shelter doesn't screw this up. We have little cat toys and a new litter pan all ready for her.

So the Stormblood Early Access is fucking broke and everyone in NA trying to play the story is locked behind a mission no one can do due to SE dropping the fucking ball because of server congestion (or that's what they're saying, I've been waiting since 7 am to finish the god damn quest. Finally gave up since I can't get into the instance to do it). GG SE, I'm pretty sure if you get it fixed it's just going to break on Tuesday when SB officially launches. I forsee many angry customers and a lot of rage quitters. On a side not Samurai is fucking amazing and I think, once the story is finished on my Ninja, I'm switching jobs again. The amount of dps and damage this job can put out at 50 is enormous so I'm expecting great things from it at 70.

On a much better note I finally got around to trying out Black Desert Online tonight. Gotta say besides being a freaking beautiful game it's actually pretty fun and addicting. Really like how the combat plays out with all of its combos. Definitely worth the $10 entry fee (that is if you're computer can run it, I'm running on high settings and not having any real issues). I think I found my new game to fuck around in when I run out of things to do in FFXIV (if I ever do x.x).

In Fellowship, I'm 80 pages in and Frodo is still in the process of leaving the shire.. wtf. I'm glad the movies skipped 90% of this. Nobody would watch the movie if 2 hours was dedicated to him attending his estate while waiting on Gandalf to finally show back up 15 years after telling Frodo to keep the ring safe. Roughly 15 years he was gone.. wtf. In the movies, its like he went and made a cell phone call and came right back all worried. In the book its a boring Hobbit's life with Frodo eventually taking care of his belongings, selling his house, getting his affairs in order, getting some breakfast with Sam, etc. x_x

When you play your best games as Mercy ever and no one votes for your card even though you clutch revived the team to victory, and got POTG twice as Mercy. Healers live a underappreciated life, but no one has any problems complaining about not having one. I've almost sunken into fulltime healer on Overwatch because now when I'm not healer, I rage when the one we have sucks. I started playing Ana and Mercy a lot more just to be proficient with them. I'm a trolling beast with Lucio now, to where I can pretty much kill tanks and hit scan heroes doing wall hanging. (Thanks DPStanky for that inspiration) Joke is on everyone else on Double XP weekend though, Healers always get a gold medal for healing... and sadly if I'm Lucio I can pull off 4-5 gold medals if my team is that bad.

So the new computer finally arrived and boy is it beautiful (and bigger then I thought, thing is huge). I'm now not looking forward to installing everything I need on it to get it up to snuff like my laptop is (so much to do). Sadly I won't be playing FFXIV tonight because it's going to take 3+ hours to download and install all the updates (not to mention Heavensward which I opted to dl instead of digging my disk out of the closet).

I'll take pictures of it tomorrow and post them, to tired to do it right now as I spent the last two hours digging it out of the box and setting it up.

I finished reading The Hobbit for the first time. Great book but I definitely liked the movies more. It's amazing how they took 40 pages at the end of the book about the battle of the five armies and turned it into an entire 2 1/2 hour movie. Lol. Gandalf didn't seem as powerful as he was in the movies but close enough. But the dwarves in the book were nothing like in the movies. The dwarves hardly fought at all in the book until the very end. They often relied on Gandalf or Bikbo to save them in every situation. Wtf. But the biggest difference I  the book compared to the movies was that Bilbo told them all about the ring. Lol. It wasn't even a secret. They were shocked at first but then he used it constantly.. he even had it on for a solid 2 weeks while the dwarves were imprisoned buy the elves.

Finished watching Saga of Tanya the Evil (Youjo Senki) last night and what a fucking trip it was. Enjoyed every minute of it which is odd for me with newer anime. For a show that uses a villain for a main character (yes this is not you're typical good guy anime show) it certainly took some risks that I thought paid off (from using a Nazi Germany like country in the Empire (this is set in a world similar to ours during the WWI era) and a sadistic 11-year old girls a the protagonist (the villain)).

Gotta say I highly recommend giving it a watch if you can (currently only up on Crunchyroll, I know Funi has the rights so it may eventually see a State side release). Can't wait for the second season.
