  1. Winter has finally attacked ND in full force. In just one day we've had 10 inches of snow and we're do for at least another 4-6 in my area alone before the end of Wednesday. It's lulled now but to be on the safe side I called into work today (thank god I have some vacation time to cover it) because driving home yesterday (I had to leave early because I did not want to drive in that shit at night) was a nightmare. Hopefully the DOT gets into full force today and gets the roads cleared and sanded so I can get to work tomorrow since this Charger hates ice and snow (my god the ass end of my car was sliding every which way yesterday no matter how slow I was going).

  2. The Black Friday noobs are out in full force. On BF1 everyone keeps unlocking and opening the doors on Monte Grappa, and on Overwatch no one can defend anything. Every round is a damn steam roll for attack because people can't defend an objective. I was winning fights I shouldn't win against hard counter characters.

On a side note, I'm glad Sombra isn't popular. I figure it has a lot to do with her abilities don't provide DPS or heals, but if you utilize them correctly you can go anywhere undetected and put pressure on the objective to let your team through bottlenecks. Now I can contest a point, go invisible and run away, and then come back and contest it again if the opposing team goes back to the choke point. Before I would fly over with D.Va and get destroyed by a 1v6 and my team wouldn't push, with Sombra they have more time to finally pay attention because apparently a whole 6-7 seconds isn't enough to give them confidence to charge in.

  3. I logged into BF1 today for the first time in 3 days and I had a Superior and Regular R5 battlepack waiting on me. I have no idea where they came from. I got the gold skin for the 12g automatic, but I scrapped it. R6 is pretty lame this week, I'll keep saving my scrap.... I'm waiting on a Legendary Martini skin.

  4. So I found my new favorite Medic weapon in BF1, the Cei-Rigotti Factory. I didn't notice until last night but it has a full-auto feature like the Sweeper and it's more accurate then the Sweeper. The 10 round mags kind of kills its killing potential but at least 80% of your shots will hit unlike the Sweeper. I'm also ashamed to say I was enjoying using the Model 10 Factory last night, I went on some killing sprees that surprised the hell out of me. I still say it needs a nerf but I understand why people like using it and it's Hunter loadout now, the gun is a beast.

  5. Infinite Warfare sales are down 50% from Blops 3. Blops 3 didn't outsell 1 or 2. Finally the tide has turned. Activision is blaming no old gen, but BF1 outsold BF4 and Hardline combined.

  6. So I'm going to go find a hole and hide in it for the next 4 years, anyone want to join me? I have snacks and video games. (This is all I will say on what happened yesterday).

I will officially leave the country if that asshat even decides to run. What we need to do is convince Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to run in 2020 and then vote for him. He's the only celebrity I will ever endorse for the position because no one is going to mess with "The People Champion" XD

Honestly I'm not worried about Trump, Congress will keep him under control and on a short leash. He'll have to play nice with them to get anything he wants done done. I'm worried about his VP Pence and who he chooses for his staff. The rumors I've been hearing are making me seriously consider leaving the country. Pence alone is bad enough (the guy seriously needs a rude awakening to how the world works).

I still say we were screwed no matter who got the presidency but I feel America just trolled itself hard and it's going to be a long 4 year troll at that (I didn't vote so I know my opinion ain't worth much but it just bugs me America thinks Trump will do a good job (or should I say White America)).

  8. Since the BF1 servers were down yet again tonight (fucking christ DICE/EA, get your shit together) I finally beat the Tanker storyline of the campaign. I have to say if the other 5 are anything like it I'm in for a treat. This is by far one of the best campaign stories I've played for a BF game since the original Bad Company. Good lord that was fun as hell and the spark plug mission was great (I fucked with the Germans so hard it wasn't even funny).

  9. Well I won't be getting BF1 now due to the car accident I was in today leaving work. I won't get into the details but everyone involved is ok (I have a sore shoulder wear the seat belt locked up but nothing serious) but my car is pretty much fucked so I now get to go shopping for a new one this weekend (yay, more payments I can't afford but it'll be cheaper than getting the damage repaired). What a lovely day to end my work day (and I got off early due to having to attend a quarterly meeting that suffice to say I missed).

Well I did get the car today (I'll post pictures later when I have time). After everything was said and done the payments come out to $214 a month which I'm more than happy about. It's a damn nice car and handles like a dream.

It's silver. While I generally like to stick to blues, blacks, and reds for car colors (exactly like my father on that) its damn fine looking.

Sadly I only had liability on it so I won't be getting a damn thing for it from insurance, sucks but whatever. Sadly the only taker we've had on it for parts wanted to give us $125 for it but my father told them where to stick it since the engine alone is worth more than that (not to mention I just had new tires put on it last winter). Hopefully he'll get a hold of my uncle who knows a few people who might want it and give us a good price for it.

Luckily we might have found me a car today so things might be looking up. They're asking $9900 for it and the car is in great shape and only has 45,000 miles on it (we talked with the owner/dealer about it (it's his wife's old car) tonight before I came home from work). I just need to head to the bank tomorrow and see if I can get a loan for it (I have great credit even with all of my debt so I should be able to) and hopefully I'll have a new vehicle.

I've never owned a new vehicle so I've never had to go through the breaking in thing. I've always had used cars. My first car was an '89 Chrysler LeBaron (god I loved that car, had a turbo in it and everything. Sadly the turbo was going out so we had to get rid of it). Second car was my mother's old Plymouth Acclaim (it was a good car it just had some Alternator issues that we could never get fixed properly). This last one was a '97 Buick LeSabre and as I said above the thing was nothing but a pain in my ass so I'm not all that sad it's wrecked (besides the whole having a car payment should I get this new one). Honestly I've really never seen my parents own new vehicles either (my father's pickup is the only new vehicle he's ever owned, bought it last year (2016 Dodge Ram)) so I've never really had my eyes set on new vehicles because they're just so god damn expensive. The car we're looking at is a 2010 so it's the newest vehicle I'll have ever owned if I do get it (ironically enough it's a car I've always wanted, a Dodge Charger). Honestly it's always a shit show buying anything used but it does suck when you get those dirty bastards who sell you something knowing full well it's a piece of shit.

Yea if that whole unemployment situation hadn't happened I'd actually have more flexibility but shit happens (as my mother put it if I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any at all and bad luck just seems to be the theme to my year currently).

Considering I live in the heart of the Bakken the market has been shitty for the last 5 years since I moved out here (god damn greedy ass people wanting their cut of the oil money). It's come down a bit but not enough for it to probably be plausible for me to get an affordable car, I'd probably have more luck out in eastern ND where I'm originally from. Luckily my father is a shrewd negotiator and he'll be coming with me to shop around. He always gets what he wants when it comes to auto dealing so it'll be nice to have him with (plus we're hoping to get at least something out of my other car from a local auto shop/junk yard).

That is fucking dirty. I honestly think that's why the place I bought my car from gave us such a good deal on it because they knew the transmission was going out (fucking shady ass place but the car only had a little more then 92,000 miles on it and was one of the few vehicles in good shape with less then 100k on it) and didn't bother changing it out beforehand (I swear that car had more problems when it came to the transmission it wasn't funny).

I'm hoping to find something affordable but around here I doubt I'm going to find something in my price range (I can't afford anything more then $350 a month in payments and I doubt I'll find that and if I do who knows if I'll want the vehicle). Yours sounds exactly like the car that pretty much got wrecked, the thing was cheap but more then made up for it in maintenance costs (put a new transmission in it 5 years ago plus various other things that added up quickly). If it wasn't for the back struts being fucked the car would still be able to drive but as is it's currently a death trap (I had to drive it to my father's shop and lets say that was the scariest 15 minute drive I've ever had, damn near went in the ditch 5 times).

I should of taken pictures of it but completely forgot to between talking to the highway patrolman, the other party involved, and helping my father figure out how we were going to get the car back to town (thankfully my father lives in town otherwise that would of been a fun time trying to figure that one out). I'm honestly just happy everyone is ok. As much as it sucks a vehicle is replaceable another person's (or my own) life is not.

  14. My position with the company was cut last week. Even though they deny it's the reason... I was salary, and starting 12/1/2016 federal law will require companies to pay salary a minimum of over $10,000 more a year than I was making or pay overtime for hours worked over 40. My company responded to this by removing the position I was in which affected 700 managers company wide. I'm now hourly making $5000 less a year because I'm only working 40 hours a week. Just goes to prove you can't force companies to pay people more money. Now each store runs on one less manager and the burden of my workload falls on them. On the bright side I have more time to myself and I'll be gaming on more regular hours instead of insane late night. XD

  15. Battlefield 1 comes out in 8 days, I'm ordering the early enlister version off amazon tonight for the 20% discount with prime membership. But I'm on the fence about buying premium. I'm sure I'll get my money out of it, but are we really going to get any significant benefit out of it prior to the first DLC's release? I was thinking about holding off on buying premium until the first DLC.

  17. In a move of douchebaggery that should surprise no one,  you must have the Infinite Warfare disc for MWR to work. That's how desperate they are to make you keep their pile of shit in hopes that you'll play it and spend money on supply drops. Fuck you Activision.

I think it still is as I've seen quite a few streamers still using it but they could just be using it because they like it. I honestly don't know the meta either. I might watch TeaWrex or Goth once every few weeks when I get a chance (I mostly just watch Matimi0 and a few FFXIV streamers now when I get on Twitch) and they're always using different weapons and set-ups. It's honestly hard to tell what the meta is (though shotguns still seem to be a got to for Crucible).

I hear it's still as terrifying as ever even with the wolfpack rounds being neutered (TeaWrex was playing Crucible today and was afraid of running into Gally users if that says anything).

Ghost bullets is still I problem I think (I don't think RoI fixed it yet as Bungie still hasn't acknowledged it as an issue (I haven't heard much since it was brought up)). Bungie doesn't really know how the science of nerfing works as they never had to do it in the past (all weapons, for the most part, were balanced in Halo and that's really their only forte with multiplayer shooting) and honestly not many companies know how to balance games with any real success (DICE is good but even they have problems balancing guns correctly). What they need to do is redesign their weapons code from the ground up if they really want to balance them correctly (which they'll never do since they made such a difficult engine to do anything in for this game). They also need to look at what they want these weapons to do instead of what the community wants them to do. Handcannons were in a great place when the game released and should of never been touched. AR's, while somewhat weaker then they were in the Beta, were in a good place as well when the game launched (they could of used a minor buff in damage output). Scout Rifles should of never been nerfed from their Alpha state. They were in a great place (even if they were slightly broken). Snipers really haven't seen any major nerfs or buffs that have really effected them overall. Fusion Rifles I was never a fan of so I never really knew just how good or bad they were to begin with (though Murmur when it first came out was rather broken). Pulse Rifles have always been a joke in my opinion and though there are good ones (like RD after it got it's buff) were honestly just bad weapons overall (I really don't like burst weapons, I'd rather have the option to turn burst on or off on an AR then use a straight burst weapon). Shotguns have been all over the place since the game came out and haven't really been on either end of the spectrum, always either falling into the slightly bad or slightly good category (depending on rolls). Heavies in general I've never had problems with as they're neither broken or godly (well depending on the heavy, gally was probably the most broken weapon in the game before it's nerf. I hear Truth was pretty much the go to Rocket Launcher before RoI taking Gally's place), they've always seemed to be in a very good place.

Invective will always remain my favorite shotgun as it was one of the few actual good ones. Not only did you have infinite ammo (which I hear has been nerfed, it doesn't generate ammo as fast anymore nor as much if I remember correctly) but the thing was deadly in the right hands (my best IB match was when I went on a 15 kill streak with it in the early days of the event) with it's full auto feature.

Sigh, I never got to take advantage of the loot cave (damn you Bungie)

I mean you have the chance at getting every weapon to drop during the Crucible but the ability not to use Crucible Marks to buy them certainly limited their availability (and now it's just Legendary marks as they did away with Vanguard and Crucible marks). Seriously the games loot and ability to buy the weapons you wanted was severely lacking (and still is though I guess it's a lot easier to get exotics now then it ever was, though you probably don't want half of those exotics anymore).

Did you hear they brought back Thorn for Year 3? I honestly can't believe they brought that broken weapon back (then again they brought Gally back so they must be desperate to get old players back in), I sense a lot of people being pissed off again when Trials starts back up.

True, locking weapons and content behind the DLC packs did splinter the games population pretty much forcing you to buy the DLC if you wanted to even be on the same level as the those who did. Honestly Bungie couldn't find that middle ground like so many other games have and the problem with the game is they tried to make it into an MMO but failed to do the proper research. Bungie is working for a company that has probably the biggest and most successful MMO's in it's library (World of Warcraft, no matter what anyone says the game is by far the most successful MMO to have ever been released and continue to proves itself as a contender for the title (yea a few expansions have been pretty shitty but it seems Legion fixed most of those problems)). Why Bungie couldn't have gone to Blizzard and actually learned what it takes to make a successful game continually confuses me, especially with what they were trying to do with this game (which is a major reason why I think so many people have left. The game we were originally promised sounded amazing but I feel even it would have suffered from the same thing the game suffers from now).

Plus the game has probably one of the worst and most punishing RNG systems in a game to date. I have better luck getting gear and weapons in FFXIV (where my luck for drops is atrocious, even more so when I have to roll on a drop I want (god damn dice roll rng)) then I do in this game (hell I had better luck in WoW). To this day I still can't understand why Bungie hasn't changed the system (they've made it a little more lax and drops are now based on your current light level) to make it more forgiving.

Plus, I know saying this will make me a hypocrite based on my current play list of games, the game is too fucking grindy and that killed it for me (how people find grinding in this game enjoyable escapes me). I grind almost daily in FFXIV but I actually have fun doing it because I feel like I'm working toward something (since I'm grinding for currency or guaranteed drops to craft gear (that I have to roll on but still)) instead of continually smashing my head into a rock and hoping for that small chance that exotic weapon or armor piece will drop.

Honestly Bungie is pretty much what IW is now, a shell of its former self. However their legions of fanboys and fangirls will continually keep them afloat much like IW. It's sad really but the only thing that can be done to force change is either convince these people the game they're playing is a piece of shit or hope they stop supporting these companies who have become so used to getting paid for crap content (which will sadly never happen as there will always be someone who continues to support bad developers).

Because people are stupid and will throw money at anything that entertains them just a little bit. As much as I hate shit talking streamers like Gothalion, ProfessorBroman, and other Destiny streamers they honestly feel like Destiny is a well made game with awesome content that keeps delivering over and over. They refuse to see where the game fails and why it fails, stating that a developer can't please everyone (like they understand game development which most of them don't, citing on what the developer says. This rubs me the wrong way being someone who has been trained to work in the industry). It also doesn't help that a lot of the people screaming the games praises are pretty much friends of Bungie through one way or another (it's common knowledge Goth, Broman, TeaWrex and a lot of the big Destiny streamers are friends with Bungie and have been flown out there many times for reveals and what not).

Honestly we were once fans of the game so they obviously did something right initially but have failed to continually deliver content to keep us interested (and honestly the game is nothing like we were promised as we've learned). I still continue to praise the Crucible and the Iron Banner event as being the only two things the game did right, being some of the most satisfying multiplayer shooting I've played in a long time (yea Battlefield is great but Bungie actually landed the gameplay for this perfectly, then again these were the people who gave us Halo and we all know how god damn fun and addicting Halo MP was at it's peek). Outside of that the game is shit and people just refuse to see it. The same thing is going to happen when Destiny 2 releases because we all know Bungie has yet to learn from their mistakes with Destiny.

  23. FINALLY made Platinum on Overwatch comp. Went on a 6 win 1 draw streak after the opening match was a loss. Once the team scores start averaging 2500 Its so much better. They honestly need to scrap the algorithm that ranks you lower on purpose after placement matches. 2300 and below is horrific with idiotic picks. Once I got past my season high and hit the mid 2400's the team comp and matches were insanely different and way more competitive. Elo Hell is a real thing for solo q, I don't care what Force Gaming says or anyone else. You can't make much of a difference when someone is picking a bad pick on attack. Damn I'm thrilled right now.

  24. I've worn the same par of Vans for almost 15 years. No other pair of shoes I've ever owned have lasted this long. The inserts are pretty much flattened to where I can feel every pebble of gravel under my foot, but the exterior is still perfectly intact minus the usual dirtiness acquired over such a time. I ordered a new pair of Vans and I'll probably get some new inserts for my current ones.

    1. Strider Hiryu

I hear you on the wide option, it's getting harder to find shoes that have them (and boots are a nightmare to find with a wide option). I'm generally a size 13 when it comes to reebox but if I buy nike's I need a 14 (and sometimes bigger if a wide option isn't available). I generally only order shoes online if I've either bought a pair like them in the past or I know my size for the brand I'm ordering. They probably are still made the same because they are skater shoes and you need some damn good shoes when you're skateboarding (all of my friends who skateboarded in high school swore by them). Then again who knows because Reebox are certainly not made like they're used to (when I was younger I used to get 5-6 years out of a pair of Reebox).

Never owned a pair of Vans in my life, never really interested me (not my style, I'm a Reebox man myself). Then again I wish I could find a pair of shoes that lasted me 15 years (most, if I'm lucky, last me 2-3 years and then they're shredded). I might have to look into them but I'll have to find a place that carries them locally as it's hard to find shoes in my size (and when I do it varies by brand).
