  1. Lets take a moment of appreciation for how utterly bad ass Maki's fight was on this weeks Fire Force. Same dude Arthur struggled with. That rig Vulcan set her up with is wicked. I'm really not ready for season 1 to end. Same with Dr. Stone. Both totally different series with outstanding world building. Its gonna feel a bit empty when they're done. MHA will probably start picking up steam soon though. Stars Align has been a nice surprise, and Azur Lane is totally my guilty pleasure this season. XD XD *ahem* But I digress.

Couldn't tell you as I got her from building and I never had this log in rewards thing when I started, must be something new for new players to the game (from what I just read it seems she is obtainable through log in rewards so you'll get her on day 8).

Not really surprised as Elizabeth is a powerhouse with the right weaponry and auxiliary gear. Quite honestly I really hope she gets a retrofit in the future as she's by far my favorite battleship to date (I only took her out of Fleet 1 because of Amagi's synergy with Sakura Empire ships which made it more of a powerhouse then it was).

Honestly I haven't used Belfast yet. I've had her for quite awhile but have never done anything more then level her to 71 and now she sits in dry dock (I did get her event skin during the last event though). Since my plan is to have a fleet of each major faction I'll probably put her into my Royal Navy one once I get around to fully putting it together.

Heh, I just got Montpelier two days ago. She was the last SR ship I needed from light construction (and with her I think I now have all SR ships available through non-event building). Honestly haven't looked into her yet but I'm pretty sure she'll end up on my Eagle Union fleet once I start putting it together. I just want the Bismarck event to come back because I really want her for my IB fleet and I barely missed out on her last time >.<

Bulin's are for Limit Breaking that's why they're handed out like candy and it's pretty much the only way you're going to get most of your ships limit broken unless you have extremely good luck when you build ships. I've honestly never used on in combat so I don't even know how good they are (I've fought a few in Exercise but they're pretty much instantly ko'd  by my team).

You'll get a good team eventually, just takes time. Make sure you're building when you have mental cubes and doing you're story missions and event missions. Eventually you'll have my problem where you have to many ships and not enough place to store them all.

Man I used Repulse up until I got Queen Elizabeth and then I used her until I got Amagi (same with Saratoga, she didn't retire until I had Enterprise and Illustrious). Sad thing is I pretty much have all the non-event SR battleships yet I still use Elizabeth in my second fleet (though once Tripitz is leveled she'll take over for Fleet 2 as I'm trying to make that my Iron Blood fleet). She's just to fucking good to replace right now (though I might have to once I finish retrofitting Warspite). Some of those lower end ships are pretty fucking powerful even over SR's as long as they're equipped properly (hell Indy was a mainstay in my 2nd Fleet until I got Atago, she's such a powerhouse when you give her AP weaponry (Indy and Cleveland did a lot of work for me until recently)).

Currently my first fleet consists of Kaga/Amagi/Enterprise in the back and Takao/Laffy (Retrofit)/Kawakaze in the front. Fleet two is a hodge podge right now but consists of Illustrious/Queen Elizabeth/Graf Zeppelin in the back and Atago/Z23 (Retrofit)/Prinz Eugen in the front. These of course will change as I said above once certain ships are trained/leveled (Akagi just hit 80 today with Tripitz so they'll be taking their places in the fleets soon). I just feel horrible that I need to take Laffy out of Fleet 1 since she's been with me since I started playing but since she's Eagle Union and I was a Sakura fleet it just doesn't work.

A really good set-up for when you first start out (and even where I'm at now) is to have a fleet with two carriers, a battleship, two destroyers, and a light/heavy cruiser (if you have the ships for it). You'll blow through pretty much everything up until the tail end of Chapter 4. That's when you need to start getting more creative (I say that even though fleet 1 is that make up and fleet 2 is as well except I have two heavy cruisers instead of two destroyers). Still trying to figure out the perfect fleet set-up for Ex missions though, I'd really like to start clearing those since they have higher chances of dropping ships I'm currently looking for. Also make sure you take advantage of the Meowfficers, they're handy little buffs when you get the right ones.

SR's are frustratingly hard to get but they do like to hand out a few to keep you enticed (sadly I've had so many Enterprises I could start a fleet of just her in the back line (same with Illustrious, Takao, and San Diego. They fucking drop like candy and it's annoying when you're trying to get a specific ship with Build (there's only like 3 SR's I don't have from the build option and they're all harder then hell to get)). They're also rare drops from certain story missions (the first ones you can get from missions are Kaga and Akagi from Mission 3-4, Kaga dropped for me the first time I cleared it. Took another 25 clears before Akagi finally dropped (finally, shes the last piece to my Sakura fleet. Just need her and Ayanami to get to level 100 (and Ayanami retrofitted) so I can sub them in for Laffy and Enterprise and the fleet will be done)).

The joystick is pretty much for if you want to manually control your Vanguard ships (I usually just leave auto on as my girls are more then powerful enough to do their own shit, very rarely do I need to take control. Plus I hate activating torpedo launches, airstrikes, and barrages. Just easier to let the girls do it themselves) and avoid shit on your own. Once you get a fleet capable of handling themselves you'll pretty much switch to auto combat (unless you enjoy manual control).

I find it to be a nice little time waster when I'm bored on lunch or sitting at home with nothing else to do (or waiting on queues for FFXIV). I only get extremely invested when there's an event going on as they're the only ways to get your hands on some of the SR ships (like Bismarck, I will have her the next time her even goes live or so help me (trying to build an Iron Blood fleet is fucking hard)) and event exclusive skins. Now if only they gave out free dock expansions because this filling it to max shit has to go (I've bought four dock expansions and I still have space issues x.x ).

I'm just fucking happy that they're finally adding an Oath skin in for Laffy (she was the first ship I oathed and that was a year and a half ago. She's also the only oathed ship I have that doesn't have an oath skin).

Oh, they'll counter it but it's a pretty major spoiler so I'm not going to say anything (all I'll say it has something to do with the Adolla Burst (which is why Sho is so powerful) and why it's so much different then normal pyrokinetics. They actually hint at it in the new opening but I won't point out where). It's been a long time since I've seen a villan on Giovanni's level and while I hate his guts god damn does he play the role so fucking well.

Fat Gum is such an awesome character. I didn't really like him so much at first but after that epic fight I'm on board the Fat Gum train. I really love how MHA is taking this time to flesh out some of it's side characters and give them more importance to the overall plot. I got some series Deku flashbacks with Kirishima's backstory there.

Fuck them for holding the last two episodes on that fucking cliffhanger (yea, episode 10 is a huge fucking setup and cliffhanger) for Azur Lane. 3 months for a conclusion is way to fucking much (and the quality wasn't bad imo for ep 9 or 10 but I'm also used to watching older shows that have wonky ass animation (one of my favorite anime of all time is the most meme-worthy one for bad animation (Mobile Suit Gundam))). Yea, I'm a little sore about it because you don't do shit like this (fuck the quality, just give me my episodes).

Lets also point out how fucking epic that fight in Fire Force was this week (I told you he's a freaking monster). Also that Red Riot/Fat Gum fight was pretty epic too.

Just goes to show never mess with a military man or a man who has pride in himself and his people. That fight also proved that even a second generation can be a force to be reckoned with when they're properly trained and disciplined (I mean look at Maki's fight, total fucking badass if not a little air headed). Sadly though I don't think we've seen the full force of Arrow's power and I feel she was just caught off guard by Hinawa (I mean she is second in command of the Knights right under Sho). I just hope they adapt the fight between Sho and Shinra (it seems like they might but it might be tight, definitely a good way to end this season) because Sho is a monster from what I've read about him (and we've only seen a fraction of what he's capable of so far). I digress though, really looking forward to next weeks episode with Obi/Vulcan vs. Giovanni/Lisa, should be a hell of a fight (and I want to see what other tricks Vulcan has up his sleeve).

Dude, Suneater's fight was epic and such an amazing growth episode for his character (plus I'm a sucker for the friendship backstories shounen shows like to pull out). I can definitely understand why he's part of the Big 3 and why Fat Gum said what he said. Oh it's only going to get better (after Kirishima's last episode I'm hyped for the next one) and I can't wait for it.  Starting to really regret watching this weekly, the waiting for new episodes is killing me (plus we're coming up to the holidays and you know they're going to delay episodes, I just hope it's not at a crucial fight or plot moment).

And once again Maki proves herself to be best girl hands down. Man that fight was awesome (and proves that her ultimate power up always comes from mishearing people comments toward her) and her being all scared was beyond cute.

I figured you'd be a Belfast man. I've got way to many ships I like and I'm more partial to the Sakura Empire ships (fuck the majority of my fleet is comprised of them, if only I could get Akagi then my main fleet would be unstoppable) but for some reason Laffy just caught my attention (I seem to always gravitate to the quiet, unassuming females in anime and in this case game). You know I think I'll have to give the dub a watch after it's finished airing, this seems like one of those shows where watching the dub is a must due to the nationality of all the ships (I mean they use different Japanese dialects/accents to differentiate between some of the ships on other sides but at the end of the day it's still Japanese). I just love how people get bent out of shape over this show and it's plot given that there is no actual plot in the game (outside of the whole Azur Lane vs. Red Axis vs. Siren storyline and the side story missions they do centered around certain ships. Quite honestly I don't even know whats going on in the game outside of the fact that I fight Iron Blood and Sakura ships even though I have them in my own fleet and occasionally I get to fight sirens from time to time) but then again these are anime fans so logic goes out the window (I've not hear Prinz Eugene outside of the sub but it can't be that bad). I would also like to point out that it's funny Enterprise is the main protagonist of the show (considering it was the flagship of the American Navy and you'd think the Japanese and the Chinese would be against doing that (the companies behind the game are Chinese run)).

I really need to get around to watching Cautious Hero since it's been on my radar (once I heard that I'd like it if I loved Konosuba (which I did) I was totally on board), sadly I have way to much on my plate this season to even consider starting it (8 shows is the most I've picked up since my college days and I'm in the middle of watching Patlabor for the first time (picked up the entire collection for cheap and I'm loving every minute of it. Never though a show about Police with mechs would be so good). Maybe I'll start it up after Bookworm and Didn't I say to make my abilities average in the next life end and as long as there is a shit ton to watch next season.

Shhhh, I still haven't watched the episode now I'm going in knowing Maki is a fucking bad ass (oh, wait I already knew that so carry on).

MHA will definitely start picking up and I definitely can't wait (I so want to see the upcoming fight for so many reasons). Not entirely sure whats in this upcoming episode but I get the feeling they'll start moving a lot quicker now in this arc (I'm assuming they're going for at least a two arc adaptation this season so they'll need to start wrapping this one up pretty quickly if they want to adapt the next one in what they have left episode wise).

Azur Lane is my guilty pleasure as well but not in the same way. The show has been great (though man is it getting some serious hate on anime sites) but I only started watching it because I'm addicted to the fucking game and hence my quilty pleasure (Laffey is best ship waifu and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise, yea I have an unhealthy attachment to her (I've spent way to much money on her skins)). That OP is pretty fucking banger though (not surprising since it's May'n and she's responsible for my adoration of the Macross Frontier OST), only coming behind No Guns Life for this seasons new shows (and way after Fire Force's new OP (it's completely grown on me now though I still think the first OP is better) and the new MHA OP).

My absolute favorite show this season though is Ascendance of a Bookworm. Such an adorable show and way beyond your typical Isekai show. In fact MB did a video on why he liked in and I agree with all his points. No over the top action. No god tier hero bent on saving the world. Just a show dedicated entirely to world building, character development and interaction, and telling it's story.

My true guilty pleasure this season is Didn't I say to make my abilities average in the next life. The comedy alone is worth watching this for. Besides one episode I don't think I've gotten through an episode without laughing so hard my side hurt (I love the complete awareness it has for what it is (much like Konosuba) and Mile's constant agonizing over how overly strong she is given her request to be reincarnated as an average, run of the mill person (and how she actually was by this worlds standards)). I'm sad it's only 12 episodes long so I really hope it gets another season.

  13. Now I understand why the last Lord of the Rings movie had such a long endless ending.. I'm halfway through the last book, the ring is already destroyed, the war is won and everyone is celebrating at the castle.. theres still like 300 pages left. wtf. XD and one of the biggest differences from the book and the movie was the last stretch of Frodo and Sam's journey. In the movie, they fought Shelob the spider and after Sam killed a couple Orcs and saved Frodo, they  took some more paths and were at the the lava in Mt Doom.. in the book, Sam had to infiltrate a massive Orc base, most of the Orcs killed each other in an argument, save Frodo.. and then had to actually go to Mt Doom still because that was only the first mountain. wtf. They had an extra week of traveling through enemy controlled land, sneak past multiple Orc bases and encampments, dress up as orcs and had to blend in with an Orc march to get over a bridge, get to Mount Doom, climb it.. lmao. the movie could have been so much longer. XD

  14. Since the founding of Kickstarter I've only backed one project and that was Kung Fury. XD I recently backed two more projects. A new wallet and a retro style watch.

I honestly don't get the whole "minimalist" wallet thing. I think it's pretty dumb actually. Before this fad even started it was hard enough for me to find a wallet with enough card slots to begin with. I have a debit card, drivers licenses, concealed carry permit, Social security card, health insurance card, dental insurance card, Kohl's card, and 3 credit cards (Visa, Master, Discover). Now that everywhere takes Visa I kinda wish I didn't have all 3, but there was a time Sam's club only took discover, and my master card was my first line of credit that just got upgraded to a mastercard when it was originally just a sears card. XD Anyways all in all I have 12-14 cards, and I feel like I always need them in case of an emergency. I don't carry cash, so the whole billfold that only holds 1 card... I don't know how people do it. I backed this Grip6 wallet because I've been using their belts and they're amazing. I also break belts a lot since I only use 1 for everything and I'm very active at my job. If it wasn't for the leather sleeve that increases card capacity to 14, i wouldn't have bothered. It's a cool concept. I use my debit card multiple times a day. All my cards that pay for stuff will go into the pop up slot. My lesser used cards like insurance and ID will go in the leather sleeve.

I've also reinvigorated my love for watches. I own 3 in my rotation. I've lost my love for metal bracelet watches as I always break them, and leather I ruin from sweating at my job so much. I just ordered a canvas strap to replace a leather band actually. But I also love analogue watches. I don't like pulling my phone out to look at the time, its just easier to look at my wrist. I've always had a watch since I was 14. I'll never be one of those serious watch collectors that owns $5000 watches... thats too extreme. I stay under $400. I've been looking for something retro and classy to add to my collection.. buying real vintage watches is out of the question so I found this... but its only half funded with 27 days left so It may not become a thing.

I'll never back a kickstarter game after all the shenanigans over the past couple of years, but recently I've found it to be a good source of finding things that no one else is making to my needs. I still did my research on the company/owner before backing, but hopefully I get two decent products. With all the crazy OT I've been getting lately I have the luxury to splurge a little.

    1. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

Damn that's a nice wallet and I've been looking for something similar (too bad I didn't hear about the kickstarter before it ended) since mine is fucking bulky and I'd like to get rid of it (I've had it since I was 14). Since I only carry 6 cards on me it'd be perfect (I only carry my debit, 1 credit card, my license, dental insurance, health insurance, and I don't even remember what the other one is), hopefully they'll put it up on the site after initial kickstarter run because I looked into getting a Ridge wallet and those things are not worth the amount of money they're charging for them.

I quit wearing watches when I started working my current job (can't wear them due to the amount of machinery I work around, sucks too because I had just gotten a new Fossil before I was canned from my old job (not that it matters, I need to get the battery replaced)) and haven't gone back, Sucks because I'm a huge watch collector (one of my downfalls is a good watch, I'm not as bad as those crazy ones but I'm willing to spend good money on a nice watch). Those aren't bad looking watches but not really my style (though the ones in you're pick are right up my alley). I've been thinking of picking up a MVMT or Vincero watch but I never seem to have the surplus cash lying around.

I think since Kickstarter went live I've only backed 4 projects. I helped back the english translation and release for the visual novel Clannad (which I still haven't played, I should get around to it), a game one of my favorite webcomic artists is developing (though I doubt I'll ever see it released, not too pissed about it since I've been throwing money at him for years for various other things), the BD release of Gunsmith Cats (which should be shipping soon), and I dropped mad money on the BD release and English translation of the entirety of Aria (like a shit ton of money, I wasn't fucking kidding when I said it was my favorite anime. Still waiting on the BD for Aria the Origination and the Artbook/Fan book (which should be done soon)). Honestly I'm very picky about what I'll back on Kickstarter and it goes without saying I won't back any video game projects (except for ones like Clannad that I know will be released) but when I do I drop some serious cash on it (thankfully there hasn't been any other anime I've wanted to back getting released or I'd be extremely broke).

  15. As much as I am enjoying this anime season with so many good shows. Friday is just incredible. Fruits Basket, Dr. Stone, and Fire Force. Pretty much 3 of my top 4 this season. (Cop Craft battling with FB for that #3 spot). All three episodes were amazing this week. Kohaku is the ultra best girl this season. 😍 As much as a lot of people hate it, I've always been a fan of the huge eyeballs, weird faces, massive mouth, anime faces for comedy as long as it's done right. Dr. Stone nails it. XD

  16. So yea Fire Force is pretty fucking amazing and you should all be watching it. Not entirely sure what else to say about it outside of the fact its animated by the guys that did Soul Eater, it's out special teams of fire fighters that fight literal fire demons (well humans turned into infernals as they call them) using pyrokinetic powers (or none at all in the case of some of them), and it's everything I didn't know I ever wanted wrapped up in an anime. Yea, I'm extremely onboard with this show. I'm just sad episode 3 is delayed for a week but it's completely understandable considering the tragic loss of life this week with the KyoAni fire.

  18. I finished reading LoTR The Two Towers a couple weeks ago after taking a long long break on reading it. It felt like Frodo and Sam were walking forever to Mordor. That part was so long and boring. -_-; I'm glad its over with. When they finally got attacked by the spider I was thankful something was actually happening. Now I'm reading Return of the King and my god this is moving at such a better pace. The attack on Gondor is happening now. After I'm done with this book I'm going to re-watch the entire movie trilogy again.

  19. Muh feels! 😭 Fruits Basket has been so good, but ugh. Two eps on Uotani and Kyoko. Why'd Kyoko have to die? :( It's just a sad fact at first, but now that they gave her character so much depth with Uotani's recollection it hurts. The New Years ep would have been even worse if I knew her like I do now. XD

  21. I checked error logs but I couldn't find anything. So I changed a couple settings for the gallery and did a couple test uploads. One image loaded fine, the other upload was 3 images at once. Everything worked ok. One of the issues might have been a file size limitation. Anything around 4mb might have been timing out. I increased the upload size for all usergroups. If anyone wants to test some image uploads, go for it. :D 10 mb is now the largest image the forum will take at the moment. All of my test images were no bigger than 1.5 mb. We still might get an image upload timing out for large images but that might be a hard server setting I'd have to look for.

I'll try fucking with the image size because I'm still getting the 504 Gateway Timeout error every time I try to upload a screenshot of my character (which might be the problem since it is 1920 x 1080).

I also have no comment on the absurdity that has proceeded this comment (I really should check the show out but its just to weird, even for me).

  22. I have to say I've played many MMORPG's over the years from good to bad but I don't think I've ever played one that has consistently proceeded to exceed my expectations like FFXIV has and Shadowbringers has more than done so. I think this expansion ranks up there as probably one of my all time favorites RPG's in general and all time favorite FF game ever (yes beating out FFIX) that's how wonderful it is.

Yea I know, FFXIV fanboy praising his addiction but SE and the XIV team have really outdone themselves with this expansion. The story is phenomenal from start to finish with a very emotional plot, some of the best dungeon's I've ever had the pleasure of grinding through (with the exception of one), phenomenal boss fights (that final fight is amazing, I can't wait to see the Extreme mode of it), great character writing (even better than before, I'm more attached to these NPC's then I ever was before), and an amazing soundtrack (I refuse to listen to music while playing in 90% of the zones because I love it so much). Granted this is just the base Shadowbringers, there's still two years of patches to go through and my opinions might change later on (I mean we still don't have raid access and the Nier 24-man doesn't launch until Oct) but I don't think I've ever felt this complete and satisfied with a game expansion/dlc. Yoshida and his team really outdid themselves this time and I look forward to the next two years of content and the next expansion to come.

On another note I've learned that I can't do hardcore gaming hours anymore. After 3 days of 12-16 hour gaming sessions (Friday - Sunday) I'm really feeling my age (sad to say when I'm only 33). I've never been this physically and mentally exhausted in my life (and my job is both on a daily basis). Thank fucking god I'm on vacation this week to recover. Don't think I'll be doing this for the next expansion but is was totally worth it for the payoff we got in the end. Also thinking I should post updated pictures of my character since she's gone through some pretty drastic changes since the last time.

  23. FedEx delivered my pool the other day.. *sigh* FedEx hires anybody. I see the guy pull into the driveway almost taking out my mailbox at 30 mph. My driveway has a noticeable dip in it. As he hit that I heard boxes from inside my house tumbling around inside his truck. I go outside to open my garage door so I can put it in there for now.. The guy sees me and says "I'm going to need your help moving this, this is heavy." I'm like... "ok.. I can only help so much, get your dolly and I'll help get it on there." He already had the box out of the truck. I'm hoping he eased it down and didn't drop it off the back. This box with the pool in it is 150 pounds. I walk over to him and he still doesn't have the dolly. Hes like "How about you get that end."... me: "No, how about you get that dolly right there." him: "I can't get it off, its tied into place. Its on there tight, I can't work it off.  We could carry it" me: "nah, I have a bad nerve issue in my arms. I'm not carrying this box. I'll get you scissors and then you can cut that rope."

Meanwhile I look in the truck and all the boxes are tossed all over the place. Its a disaster in there. Not a single thing in that truck is secured.. except the fucking dolly that is tied in place. -_-; The one and only tool every delivery guy needs and its tied down while all the packages are getting beat the shit out of in his truck while he drives crazy. I got some scissors, he cut the dolly free. He took that dolly, put it on the ground, I titled one end of the box, he got the dolly under it, wheeled it back and started to move it slowly. His eyes lit up like his job just got significantly easier. wtf. He perked up and moved that box quick to my garage. He asked where to put it, I said near the chair.. and then he put it behind the lawnmower instead.. me: "ok, I can move it from there, thanks!" wtf.. its like he never got trained.

God damn I think FedEx in my area pays $16 minimum for a warehouse position ($22 an hour if you become a driver). No wonder they can't hire quality people XD

See I have that problem with UPS in my area. Almost every package I get through them is usually banged up (luckily nothing has been damaged). FedEx is generally the one you want delivering your package around here.

  24. Funimation put up Your Name. I remember all the hype behind this film and how it it became the highest grossing anime at the box office. After watching it, it was kinda a letdown. I mean it wasn't bad, but Spirited Away is immensely superior to this movie. Its worth watching, but I wouldn't grade it above a solid straight to Netflix feature.
