  1. The power of friendship prevails in Fairy Tail and the bad guy was defeated. -_-; *slow clap* One chapter left for the epilogue. This guy hasn't drawn a hentai inspired chapter in a long while so I'm going to assume it'll end with a bunch of fan service at this point.

Considering what I know of One Piece I'd have to agree as it's quite obvious he's working toward a set goal (I still need to sit down and watch it as well as get caught back up on the manga (I believe I got to chapter 30 or 40 before I quit reading due to other concerns) as everything he does feels planned (by what I've read and heard from others). I can't comment much on Naruto as the only chapter I've read is the final one but again it seemed he knew where he was going from the get go (the anime on the other hand didn't seem like it knew where it was going).

Yea, I need to get back into reading Berserk (I stopped reading at volume 9 but I do have up to volume 35 downloaded) and start reading Five Star Stories (you think Berserk is bad, the author for FSS went on a 9 year hiatus before he started up again in 2015 (stopped in 2006) and the manga has been going on since 1986, I think he's currently on hiatus again).

It sounds like he doesn't have a complete grasp of how he wants to end the manga or he's just selling out. That or he's just been pushing through so he can start something else he wants (you'd be surprised by how many manga-ka do this when they just want to end the series and move on to something else).

This is also the reason why I don't read these long running stories. I prefer short, self contained stories that last 1-3 volumes (I think this is the reason why I read so much shoujo manga). The longest running series I've completed was Claymore and that ending was rather forced and abrupt (considering all the lead up and epic fights). Honestly I've noticed a considerable dip in quality coming out of manga lately, like manga-ka just don't care anymore what they do as long as it secures them a pay check (then again these people work 17+ hour days, 6 days a week so selling out is probably the only way they get consistent paychecks).

  4. So I preordered the standard edition of Destiny 2. I'll let you know if downloading the Beta is worth it since I'll get early access. I have a feeling there might not be any open world like D1. They haven't shown any at all if you think about it. They'll probably just be a strike, the first mission, and PvP. I hope I'm wrong, because I'd rather just run around a map and test out weapons more than anything else.

  5. I'm adopting a cat from the shelter. :D We went there last saturday and picked her out. A little kitten 4 months old. We're waiting to hear back from the place about when to pick her up. They give her full vaccinations, spay and a month of flea treatment. They have to spay her before they can release her to us, so we just gotta wait a few more days to find out when we can get her. They got hit with multiple large hoarding cases recently of saved animals and theres alot of volunteers there now. I hope this shelter doesn't screw this up. We have little cat toys and a new litter pan all ready for her.

  6. So the Stormblood Early Access is fucking broke and everyone in NA trying to play the story is locked behind a mission no one can do due to SE dropping the fucking ball because of server congestion (or that's what they're saying, I've been waiting since 7 am to finish the god damn quest. Finally gave up since I can't get into the instance to do it). GG SE, I'm pretty sure if you get it fixed it's just going to break on Tuesday when SB officially launches. I forsee many angry customers and a lot of rage quitters. On a side not Samurai is fucking amazing and I think, once the story is finished on my Ninja, I'm switching jobs again. The amount of dps and damage this job can put out at 50 is enormous so I'm expecting great things from it at 70.

On a much better note I finally got around to trying out Black Desert Online tonight. Gotta say besides being a freaking beautiful game it's actually pretty fun and addicting. Really like how the combat plays out with all of its combos. Definitely worth the $10 entry fee (that is if you're computer can run it, I'm running on high settings and not having any real issues). I think I found my new game to fuck around in when I run out of things to do in FFXIV (if I ever do x.x).

Not entirely sure when the issue was resolved (see below) but I finally got through the mission on Sunday morning when 2 servers on my Data Center crashed allowing people to get through it (two of the highest pop servers at that, no wonder no one could get through). They were getting DDoS'd the other day but that seems to have stopped.

Sadly I'm not as far as I'd like to be (I'm almost done with the story and almost 70) because after I finally got through that quest my fucking modem decided to die on me so I spent two days without internet until I could get my ISP out here to fix it (which in the long run is better, I now have a new modem I didn't have to pay for (and they'll replace it at their own cost if it dies) and my speeds have been upped to 120 dl/20 up). Tell you this much I'm not used to a desktop anymore or my computer chair, fucking shoulders/neck/back are killing me from sitting here for 10 hours a day (yea, I pretty much wasted the majority of my vacation in front of my computer). Think I might need to invest in a new computer chair when I finally get my new desk.

The problem is this is an issue that should not be an issue. If they'd of fucking rented extra servers for the month to help alleviate the congestion that comes with every major expansion launch everyone would be happy right now (or for fuck sake they could put this and the other two instanced story missions behind a fucking queue so people could get through it but no they opted to put a hard cap of 1 person per server on it and it's like trying to win a radio call in contest (its all about timing and luck) to get through). There is no way SE didn't know how many people would be playing early access, they have the fucking sales numbers and the early access code redemption's to go off of. They're other mistake was releasing early access on a Friday when fucking everybody would be able to get on after work to play. They really fucked up and now they're trying to fix issues for the 1% of the player base that actually made it through Raubahn Ex (it's what we're calling the problem, the npc that starts the mission is name Raubahn) instead of helping the 99% that can't.

Yea I'm fucking salty about this. It's day 3, I'm nowhere near getting past this MSQ, I got up at 1:30 am to attempt to get through when server load would be at it's least (which it isn't, everyone seems to have had the same idea), and now servers are going down to fix the issue I mentioned above instead of helping out those of us who can't progress. I'm seriously debating canceling my subscription and demanding a refund on my copy of the expansion when I get it. I've never seen such blatant disrespect for players and paying customers like this (fuck even Blizzard has done better at placating the crowd when shit hit the fan in WoW). Like I told a guild mate yesterday I pay $210 a year to play this fucking game (I pay in 6 month blocks plus I also pay for an additional 2 retainers (our version of a bank/storage facility)) and I dropped $230 on the Collector's Edition of Stormblood, I don't think it's too much to ask to make sure you fucking give answers to the issues at hand instead of saying "We're looking into it, keep trying on your own to get in" or "Working as intended, quick your damn bitching" (note the last one has never been said but most of us are starting to feel like this is what they're trying to say).

  8. LoTR Fellowship of the Rings is such a slow book. The battle of five armies in The Hobbit was only around 40 pages. In Fellowship, I'm 80 pages in and Frodo is still in the process of leaving the shire.. wtf. I'm glad the movies skipped 90% of this. Nobody would watch the movie if 2 hours was dedicated to him attending his estate while waiting on Gandalf to finally show back up 15 years after telling Frodo to keep the ring safe. Roughly 15 years he was gone.. wtf. In the movies, its like he went and made a cell phone call and came right back all worried. In the book its a boring Hobbit's life with Frodo eventually taking care of his belongings, selling his house, getting his affairs in order, getting some breakfast with Sam, etc. x_x

I hate that argument because what MMO isn't grindy or a never ending gear treadmill (this argument toward it just ticks me off, plus it can't be any worse than fucking Destiny). Every MMO I've played is grindy as fuck and BDO is no worse than TERA, Aion, WoW, FFXIV, etc. Sure if you're trying to be the best of the best than yeah you probably need to put more time into it then say someone like me who only plays for fun.

Honestly you don't need to spend money on anything in BDO, almost everything is cosmetic anyways (from what I've noticed there's very little of anything to buy to make your life easier). Hell I've spent $800+ in just STO on ships, keys, a lifetime subscription ($200 on sale, normall $300), the Romulan starter kit (which was $150 itself), and various other things. I don't plan on spending any money in BDO except for maybe one cosmetic outfit for my Kunoichi and a pet (pets are the only things that can auto-loot in the game).

However I will admit BDO is an investment/time sink, you can really lose track of time if you don't pay attention (I played for 3 hours today without noticing it). Sadly though this might become my main MMO now because it's day 2 and fucking FFXIV is still fucking broke.

  11. I'll give credit where its due. Microsoft had a pretty good E3 presentation. But sadly for them the XBox One X is like the Wii U in title. Its going to get them screwed up. On top of that what percentage of the base is going to be using 4k? $500 is steep. Its like the Goldstar 3DO... unnecessarily ahead of its time. They had some time exclusive stuff, but Sony had real exclusives like Spider-Man, Days Gone, and of course God of War.

  14. When you play your best games as Mercy ever and no one votes for your card even though you clutch revived the team to victory, and got POTG twice as Mercy. Healers live a underappreciated life, but no one has any problems complaining about not having one. I've almost sunken into fulltime healer on Overwatch because now when I'm not healer, I rage when the one we have sucks. I started playing Ana and Mercy a lot more just to be proficient with them. I'm a trolling beast with Lucio now, to where I can pretty much kill tanks and hit scan heroes doing wall hanging. (Thanks DPStanky for that inspiration) Joke is on everyone else on Double XP weekend though, Healers always get a gold medal for healing... and sadly if I'm Lucio I can pull off 4-5 gold medals if my team is that bad.

  15. So the new computer finally arrived and boy is it beautiful (and bigger then I thought, thing is huge). I'm now not looking forward to installing everything I need on it to get it up to snuff like my laptop is (so much to do). Sadly I won't be playing FFXIV tonight because it's going to take 3+ hours to download and install all the updates (not to mention Heavensward which I opted to dl instead of digging my disk out of the closet).

I'll take pictures of it tomorrow and post them, to tired to do it right now as I spent the last two hours digging it out of the box and setting it up.

  16. I finished reading The Hobbit for the first time. Great book but I definitely liked the movies more. It's amazing how they took 40 pages at the end of the book about the battle of the five armies and turned it into an entire 2 1/2 hour movie. Lol. Gandalf didn't seem as powerful as he was in the movies but close enough. But the dwarves in the book were nothing like in the movies. The dwarves hardly fought at all in the book until the very end. They often relied on Gandalf or Bikbo to save them in every situation. Wtf. But the biggest difference I  the book compared to the movies was that Bilbo told them all about the ring. Lol. It wasn't even a secret. They were shocked at first but then he used it constantly.. he even had it on for a solid 2 weeks while the dwarves were imprisoned buy the elves. O_O

  17. Finished watching Saga of Tanya the Evil (Youjo Senki) last night and what a fucking trip it was. Enjoyed every minute of it which is odd for me with newer anime. For a show that uses a villain for a main character (yes this is not you're typical good guy anime show) it certainly took some risks that I thought paid off (from using a Nazi Germany like country in the Empire (this is set in a world similar to ours during the WWI era) and a sadistic 11-year old girls a the protagonist (the villain)).

Gotta say I highly recommend giving it a watch if you can (currently only up on Crunchyroll, I know Funi has the rights so it may eventually see a State side release). Can't wait for the second season.

  20. So I was bored yesterday and played some of the Overwatch free weekend (sadly I won't have anymore time to play it). Quite honestly I'm actually considering buying it now because Quickplay was not as bad as it was last time. It seems either people have learned to play the game. Really like a lot of the changes the game has gone through since the last time I played (really happy to see you can only have one of each hero on a team now, such a fucking lovely change). I actually think I could stomach the grind to 25 to play comp now (if I could find the time to play it, I'm working on my Bard's Anima Weapon in FFXIV and I've got less than a month till early access for the expac launches (and I still have to beat ME:A and Horizon)).

I've also pretty much proved that I'm going to be stuck playing healers as I have lost all skill at playing anything but them. Went on a tear with Lucio last night, getting play of the game for knocking two people off the map on Ilios and getting three more kills on top of it. I have to say if I didn't love Mercy as much as I do I'd have to say Lucio is my favorite hero (also got a Legendary skin for him, not to hip on it as its the blue hockey one but still it was a nice gain from a lootbox). I also wall skated my way out of dying in the center well on the first part of Ilios, was pretty fucking epic (considering I didn't think it could be done).

I also have to point out that I really like Orisa. I never actually played as her but she was a major reason as to why my group won on Defense for Volskaya in the first part of the map (that place down shield is powerful with the right set up). She's a very nice addition to the hero lineup. Also have to say I fucking hate Sombra, in the right hands she's a fucking nightmare.

  21. I never got into Samurai Jack, and now I really don't like Samurai Jack because the marathon is going to delay the AoT dub episode on Funimation since it wont air on CN this week. -_-; WTF.

  25. Once again my company restructures and my position in the company is eliminated. I'm pretty much a lock for another position they created, but its getting old having to worry about whether I'll have a job the next year when they probably do change again. It will be a night shift management position so I'll be working late again and not get to game with friends like I've been enjoying the past 8-9 months. On the upside at least I'll be back in management, and not some guy thats coded for a job he's not really doing because he's being used as a manager/utility guy.

I was going to buy a new graphics card and power supply, but its on hold now until I know for sure I'll still be employees in a few weeks. Its pretty tough watching people lose their job that you've worked with for years. It seems just about every retail company is doing this lately. I know Lowes recently laid off a shit ton of managers.

    1. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

As a guy stuck in these low level positions (mostly by choice, I've worked my way up only to have it bite me in the ass so I'm happy being down here with the grunts) it's nice to see the incentive of raising the minimum wage however they're doing it the wrong way. Raising wages to a flat $15 an hour isn't the answer, it's their way of making themselves look like they care when they don't (and a way to make it so jobs don't leave the country which sadly isn't going to stop). I've said it more than once that minimum wage needs to be based on the currently standard of living in each city/state (more so city but that's due to where I live more then anything) as, like DX pointed out, most smaller to medium sized businesses can't afford to pay wages not centered on their areas SoL (businesses that are small mom and pop shops or state chains, not businesses like Walmart who could afford to pay all their employees $15 and up an hour but choose not to (don't be fooled by them raising their wages, just a publicity stunt. More wages means less people to work now so it gets harder on those employees still there (they actually eliminated a lot of positions in the company to do this))). Sadly the people leading our country don't see this (and Trump for one doesn't give two shits about us little guys trying to make a living) and just do things without fully thinking it through and businesses don't care outside of what it will cost them (hence the lay offs and what have you). Just because $14 an hour is the bare minimum needed to be able to survive where I live (due to the Bakken/Oil Industry) doesn't mean you should be paying your employees that in a small town where $9 an hour will let them live a comfortable life (not many places I know of where $9 an hour will suffice but I'm sure they're out there).

Sadly though it'll continue to happen. Eventually minimum wage will get so high we won't have any jobs to go after as they're all shifted overseas to people willing to work for less than a dollar an hour. I don't bitch because I make enough money to cover my bills, make sure I have food, and pay for those few luxuries I enjoy (even though I'm making less money an hour then I was before I got fired, man OT really makes up that difference though) but I know of plenty of people who don't (close friends as well who can't aspire to be more because they can't afford to get the schooling or training to do so) so yeah. Like I said I don't bitch, no reason to because no matter how loud we bitch very little gets heard or changed for the better.

Sadly DX it's those people who will never give up those positions and when they eventually do they'll probably restructure again to deny you the position (don't know the situation or what its like to work for you're company but I know plenty of companies that will do shit like that saying the position is no longer needed and they were getting rid of it). No matter how indispensable you make yourself it rarely ever pays off because after awhile those people just keep using you to better themselves (me being fired is one of those instances, busted my ass for 10 months to make the store look better only to get fired due to allegations that I was stealing only because the person who deserved to get fired was trying to take everyone who helped her out with her (yea she got fired but took nearly the whole management team with her). The Store Manager didn't even try to defend us in the fallout, just let us take the fall so he wouldn't look bad (again a reason why I never want to be in a position of power again)).
