  1. God damn what a ride is all I have to say. Definitely my favorite season of the four we currently have (Fumoffu taking second). I love the dark tone this season set and all the major developments we got in such a short amount of time (especially for a 12 episode season, though those fucking recap episodes and that 2 week wait between episodes 10 and 11 sucked balls), plus god damn do I love the *will not say till others have seen it*. Such a beautiful piece of *again will not say till others have seen*. I have to say I really hope this gets green lit for another season but I don't think that will be for awhile. If I remember correctly the novel isn't much further past how this season ends (which I'd love to talk about but I don't want to ruin it for you all) so it might be a waiting game again (I'll have to check, my friend reads the light novel so he'll be able to tell me).
  2. So I finished watching the first season of My Hero Academia tonight and you were right DX I absolutely love the show. I think most of that has to do with my absolute adoration for All Might but I could be wrong (but I'm sure I'm not, you can't hate the man he's just fucking perfect).

Gotta say for a shounen series it certainly has a lot going for it. Great humor, awesome character development and characters , a good story (I only say good for now as it's only S1 that I've finished, I hear it gets a lot better), and a pretty kick ass soundtrack. Not going to say I don't have any problems with the show (it suffers from some of the things I hate about shounen series) but those are greatly overshadowed by everything I said before.

I'm honestly looking forward to starting S2 tomorrow (thank god I'm on vacation) and hopefully starting S3 before I go back to work (if I don't get lost in the myriad of other things I have to do this week).

I think what makes this series shine over other shounen is it never drags ass. The sports festival was awesome because every fight and event was finished in 2 episodes or less and moved on to the next. Flashbacks were kept to a minimum. Overall the series stays focused. Season 3 doesnt waste anytime, just now are we finally given a breather with the last two eps.

The constant action and focus on continuing the story has been rather refreshing and the nice little 2-3 ep bridge episodes are rather nice (and very informative). Finally a shounen series with no filler (my god I think the world might end).

Yeah my friend warned me (and I already knew) that shit gets pretty intense at the start of season 3. I decided to hold off starting it until tomorrow because it will only take me 3 days to get to current (ep 53 as of yesterday/tonight) and then I can switch this to my normal Saturday night shows (when I sit down to watch Steins:Gate and Overlord) and I can finally finish re-watching Mai-Hime.

Bah, now I feel lost. Finally got caught up to current and I'm sad because I can't just watch 5-6 episodes a night anymore. Been a long time since I've had this feeling while watching an anime.

Man that fight between All Might and All for One was spectacular. Such an intense two episodes (not to mention the whole training camp). God damn I'm glad I picked this up. Now I'm just curious about how they'll end season 3 (I really hate my inability to just be surprised, all the possibilities they can use (though I hope they go with what I'm predicting, will make Season 4 even better if they do)).

  3. I can guarantee you they won't adapt any of the TV shows, there's no way to do it without doing justice to the actual original material (not only that Sunrise is extremely protective of the Gundam franchise, they won't allow for a shitty adaptation of any of the series). This will either be a completely new, one off story (that may or may not continue past one movie) or they will adapt one of the many light novels out there set in the UC timeline (kind of like how the Thunderbolt manga was adapted into two 4 episode OVA's and one movie. Sorry DX, your hopes of me wanting to end it after a live-action G Gundam are dashed ). Seriously though this will probably suck. G-Savior (the fact I have to type that makes me want to kill myself) was an atrocity (and sadly one set in the same universe as the original Gundam, only way in the future) and I don't see this one being much better. The only way this movie would even have a chance of being passable would be if they got Tomino to sit on and oversee the production (which I highly doubt will happen). I really have to wonder why Hollywood wants to bastardize anime like this (Ghost in the Shell was a major atrocity and I know BAA will be too). Fuck not even Japan can do a proper live-action adaptation (exception being Blade of the Immortal and the first NANA movie), what makes them think they can.
  4. Heh, lets just say unless you're into the whole "Girls going about their daily life in the most mundane means possible" then Amanchu and Amanchu Advance might be a hard sell for you (about two girls joining a diving club and the daily goings on of the club and their lives). Sadly it doesn't have a simuldub so I can't exactly say watch it and give it a shot (it's not licensed yet and if it does get licensed it'll probably be by Right Stuf/Nozomi, look up Aria (one of my all time favorite shows) if you want to get a taste of Amanchu (though Aria currently does not have a dub, I helped back it on Kickstarter to get it produced (because I wanted BD quality, $480 well spent) so a dub will be out by fall of this year for the first season. Same manga artist so the feel of both shows is roughly the same). I wouldn't really consider NHK a slice-of-life, more like demented slice-of-hikikomori life (oh the jokes Epples and I used to come up with for the show). Citrus was good, wish they'd of gone further since the manga takes quite a few more turns from their but it was still good. I really enjoyed Haganai, more then I thought I would. Was a cute little show. My love for Chobits knows no bounds but I also started with the manga so I was a fan going into the show to begin with. Sankrea has been on my backlog since it was airing, I really need to find time to sit down and watch it. Oh and supernatural shit is like the bread and butter of Amanchu so yes it counts as slice-of-life (you'd be surprised how many SoL's have supernatural aspects to them). Only thing I'll be watching this summer is Overlord as nothing else interested me. I'm more worried about getting my backlog watched (which is roughly 5 years of shows to watch). I'm slowly getting through it but I keep getting side tracked by re-watching older shit I own or shit I've already seen multiple times. I'll definitely start to watch My Hero next week (though it'll have to fight with me re-watching Mai-Hime/Mai-Otome, just picked it up from Right Stuf yesterday and it should be here by Friday/Saturday. I really need to quit buying anime, such an expensive hobby).
  5. Steins:Gate 0 has been a fucking trip so far and it's only getting more intense (emotionally). Honestly I have to say I'm enjoying this a lot more then I did the first season (though some of the new characters are rubbing me the wrong way (I'm looking at you Kagari)), which reminds me they had the game (first one, not 0 sadly) on sale for the Steam Summer Sale so I picked it up. Will be traversing through it on my vacation in two weeks (can't fucking wait, I hear it's more of a mind trip then the anime was). Full Metal Panic IV has been a fucking hell of a ride so far, kinda worried considering episode 10 came out last week and I don't feel we've progressed toward a good stopping point yet (really hoping they are gearing up for another season since episode 12 will be the last one). You think things are intense now wait until episode 8 and then 10 (shit gets fucking real man, this is probably the darkest season by far for FMP (and I say this after what happened in the last 4 eps of TSR)). Based off of what you and my co-worker say about My Hero Academia I'm really going to have to sit down and watch it now. I've been holding off because I generally hate shounen titles (too much emphasis on action with little thought to story and character development) but you two have really been selling me on it. Maybe I'll start it next week after I finish re-watching Trigun (if I don't get side tracked again, I was going to start it this week but Trigun was calling my name, haven't re-watched it in ages). Heh, I've always considered doing something similar to this but I don't watch enough new shit for this to be relevant (fuck I only picked up four shows from this round of shows (FMP, S:G0, SAO: GGO (which I would review but if you're not a fan of the original you'll definitely not like this), and Amanchu (which is definitely not up your alley, Slice-of-Life and Cute Girls Doing Cute Things at it's finest)). Look forward to seeing more reviews from you going forward.
  6. So we're a prisoner this time? Interesting, I like where this is going. Should make the story a lot more interesting as compared to the normal Air Force/Mercenary Ace angle they keep going for. As for the release date I suppose they're not saying anything since it can be played in VR and I suppose that's holding development up (not a good fucking excuse Bandai Namco, you've made we wait 11 years for another Strangreal Ace title and that's to fucking long. This better be out this fall or heads will roll).
  7. This is probably the only game I'm hyped about out this years E3. God the game looks beautiful.
  8. It looks good but, again, so did Destiny before it launched. It was nice to see some actual game play and by what I can see it looks like at least that is pretty solid. Here's to hoping we get more footage like this in the months to come.
  9. I'm going to be the best damn snowman builder there ever was, you heard it hear first! Joking aside I like what I'm seeing with fortifications, definitely going to add a whole new layer to how the game is played and really reinforce teamwork when trying to take an objective now.
  10. Absolutely gutted and devastated to hear of Anthony Bourdain's death, turned an already shitty day into an extremely shitty day. I would of said something earlier but I had to come to terms and sort out my own thoughts on this (and of course get through a 10 hour work day).

The world truly is a bit darker and a lot less interesting today with his loss. His passion, gift for storytelling, humanity, and all around awesome attitude were what drew me in when I first started watching A Cook's Tour (his first show) so many years ago and what cemented my love for this man during the run of No Reservations. Sadly I never did get around to watching Parts Unknown or The Layover but I can only imagine they were as good as the other two. This man truly had a gift for opening his heart and mind to people and their culture as well as getting them to open up as well.

RIP Mr. Bourdain, not only have you opened my eyes to new things, given me countless hours of enjoyment, and been an all around awesome person you've also inspired my love for travel (that one day I will hopefully get to do) and my love for other cultures. You will truly be missed and my heart goes out to your daughter and family in this extremely tragic moment. I can only hope you've finally found the peace that so eluded you in life.

He was a man of the world. It's a shame he took his own life. He always seemed so enthralled to meet new people and cultures. He was a great entertainer and I bet he made friends in every city and country he visited. He'll be missed.

  11. After four days of playing I finally beat Detroit: Become Human or should I say finished my first play through and boy was it a pleasure. It's been a very long time since I've played a game with such an amazing story behind it and it's been even longer since I've felt such emotion while playing. This is my game of the year and nothing will come close to over taking it. A little early to be saying this? Probably but the chances another game as rich in story, character development, and emotional attachment coming out this year is slim to none. Games like these are what influenced my decision to get my degree (even if I'm not using it or working in the industry) and it's games like this that I've always wanted to create.

True, the story has problems (and an extremely slow start after the first mission (the demo mission if you haven't played it)) and borrows heavily from real life events (civil rights movement is the big parallel with Markus coming off as the android MLK (depending on what choices you make)) and covers some pretty heavy subjects (domestic abuse, drug use, what does it mean to really be alive, etc) but they are few and far between and do little to detract from the narrative being told (in fact I think it gives the story more character). This game also does an extremely good job of making you feel the consequences of the choices you make and drives those points home later on down the line (every choice you make effects how the story ends, even the most mundane).

All three main characters are interesting in their own ways and it was a joy seeing them all evolve throughout the course of the story and while I admit some of them were bland (Connor coming to mind, his character arch is the most interesting but his character is rather bland until about half way through the game) that hardly detracts from the story. If I had to choose I'd say Kara's story was my favorite for pure emotional reasons and Connor's being the most enjoyable (mostly due to the Detective he works with). Don't get me wrong Markus's story is good and the beginning of it really makes you feel for him but overall it doesn't outshine the other two. Plus the actor's they got to play these characters did an extremely amazing job bringing these characters to life so much so that I became emotionally attached to each one of them (this goes for secondary characters as well, I had to make some real hard choices at the end of the game and it was heartbreaking to do so).

While I'm not one to gush about graphics I must say this game is beyond beautiful and the motion capture and animation are top notch (not to mention the starting screen is probably the most unique one to date). It's obvious this is a game and everything is CG but sometimes you forget given how well they nailed the likeness of the actors/actresses they used (almost all the main characters and certain side characters share their likeness with the actor/actress that portrayed them). I also have to say the soundtrack is rather amazing (now to rip it off my PS4 for my listening pleasure).

All in all this game was an emotional ride and probably the best $70 I've spent on a game in years. I can't recommend it enough but I warn you this game is not for everyone. There is very little action (and what little there is completely consists of quick time events) and it's completely character driven, think of it as a CYOA movie that takes some input from the audience. Plus if you've never played a Quantic Dream game (Indigo Prophecy, Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls) then you probably won't really enjoy it. However if this sounds like something you'd like I highly recommend it. As I said it's been a really long time since I've enjoyed a game this much and I can't wait to play it again this weekend to try out the paths I didn't take (and to get all the trophies, this will probably be the only game I 100%) and see the other endings (I got what could be considered the best ending).

Sounds great. Lady liked heavy rain back in the day. I bet she'll really like this. :D

    2. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

While I have yet to play Heavy Rain (I got a copy of the PS4 remake/remaster with my purchase of the Digital Deluxe Version of Detroit, will probably start playing it here soon) if she liked it I'm pretty sure she'll love Detroit. I can't stress enough how much I love this game (you can ask my co-worker, it's all I've been talking about since yesterday (luckily he hasn't been annoyed yet because he's been playing it too)).

  12. Heh, I was going to play this over the weekend since it was free but Blizzard yet again picks one of the worst weekends for me to do this. Between the new FFXIV content patch on Tuesday (so much to fucking do x.x) and Detroit: Become Human having come out on Friday I don't have the time (which I'm fucking loving Detroit, probably the best $70 I've spent in a long time). Sucks because I really wanted to try out Brigette, I'll just have to wait until the next free weekend.
  13. I like what I'm hearing now they just need to deliver (I liked a lot of what I heard about BF1 but it was never really delivered on imo). Honestly happy that it's WWII (yea I know everybody wants modern and what not) and I like they're keeping the War Stories SP around as that was one of the main things I loved about BF1 (though I still haven't beaten the last set yet) and I really like that it's going to be stories we haven't heard and battles we haven't seen (nice little touch). I could honestly care less about soldier customization (honestly I don't see the point. The only games I care about being able to customize my character on are MMO's and some action/rpg games) but it's nice they're finally allowing it more so than before. The whole archetype class and weapon system sounds interesting especially since I'm one of those guys that ends up doing to things no one wants and I actually play my class the way it's meant to be (I have a feeling I'll be leaning heavily toward support or medic depending on what sounds like more fun), I just hope it's implemented well and not just thrown into the game like Behemoths and Elite Classes were in BF1. Grand Operations sounds fun especially since its kinda what we were supposed to get in BF1 but never did and I'm extremely happy that Conquest is going back to what it used to be (about time). Not to sure how I feel about Fortifications. Sounds interesting but only if it's done right, will have to wait on actual gameplay footage of this feature before I fully give my opinion. All in all it sounds like a return to what made BF what it is along with adding new things that will eventually be ripped off them by someone else. Not going to jump on the bandwagon though, I'll wait until it comes out before I buy it instead of pre-ordering it (as I'm sick of getting burned) even if that means no beta access.
  14. I just finished watching it and I adore this show. When you ask yourself what Strider looks for in anime this is it, this is what I love to watch. This was just a joy to watch and while it really hits you in the feels it just so well done. It's been such a long time since I last watched a show that truly moved me like this one did and such a long time since we've had an anime so character driven that it saddens me. We need more shows like this, ones driven forward by a compelling story and such well developed and lovely characters (enough with the harem anime, enough with the long running shounen crap, give us shows like this). To make it even better the soundtrack is amazing and the animation is top notch (of course it is coming from KyoAni, the very studio that brought us Clannad and Kanon (two breathtakingly beautiful shows)). The show is not without its flaws (and by what I understand it's not a true adaptation of the novel (it ends completely differently than the novel)) it's not enough to detract from what is being told and shown. I'm with DX on this and can't recommend this enough. Sure there's very little action, sure it's a sappy story, sure the characters are cutesy but god damn it look beyond it and give it shot. In the last two days I've shed many manly tears because of this show and am not afraid to admit it (I'm getting sappy in my old age). Bravo Netflix, you have finally delivered to me an anime that I can truthfully say will go down as one of my all time favorite shows and an anime that has truthfully left me breathless. I hope the new Violet Evergarden project delivers us more of this wonderful world and story, I just can't get enough of it (I might re-watch it again this weekend that's how much I love it).
  15. I'm honestly hoping it's WWII. I never got to play the original BF and I find the lack of a good WWII shooter to be disheartening. I wouldn't be mad if it was another modern one but the thing I want back most is pretty much the same progression system as BF4. BF1 was a catastrophe in the respect (I still think BF1 was a good game but sadly it just lost it's luster way to fast). I'm pretty sure Premium won't be a thing this time around (or at least I hope so, console never really got hit as hard by the paywall as PC players did or at least I didn't notice it all that much when I still played but it is still noticeable) unless EA wants to keep making stupid mistakes (then again I wouldn't be surprised if they went with it again).
  16. You can't actually blame them with how successful R6S is, it's pretty much the king of team based tactical shooters atm though, based on what little I know because I really have no interest in COD anymore, this is probably the worst decision they could of made. COD will never be team focused no matter how hard you try, to many dudebro casuals and trihards play COD and as well all know from experience team based content in COD never actually works because no one ever works as a team (which is why Search and Destroy was objective based TDM after COD4, saddened me greatly since that's my favorite mode). Those who do will always win (a sad truth of R6S and one of the main reasons I stopped playing, I love the game to death but no one ever wants to communicate on console and it's fucking sad) and it will frustrate those that want to old COD run and gun experience. Focusing on Zombies and a probable BR mode is also entirely stupid but it's Activision so are we all really that surprised? The exclusion of the campaign is probably a good move on their part. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed COD4 and WaW's campaigns but you have to admit they were poorly written and poorly put together. Honestly people have been complaining that they should just stick to multiplayer and now that they are I'm confused as to why we're everyone is having a shit fit. God damn gamers are fickle as hell, finally get what you want but bitch about it anyways.
  17. I'm going to preface this by saying I'm normally not a fan of Super Robot mech shows (more of a Real Robot guy myself (Gundam/Macross)) and never really have been (there are exceptions but they are few) so that will tell you just how much I adored this show.

It took me 11 years to finally sit down and watch it (and it's spent many years on my Netflix to watch list (I watched in on CR though) but I finished Gurren Lagann tonight and I have to say I absolutely fucking adored it. I don't understand why it took me so long to finally watch it but god am I glad I finally did. I haven't been this pumped after watching a show since I finished Kill la Kill (funny considering Trigger is also responsible making that gem). I'll admit it was a little rough in the beginning and if it wasn't for Kamina I would of dropped it but man am I glad I stuck through it, it only kept getting better. I'll admit, my taste for shows like this has dwindled over the years and I'm not really into the over the top, ridiculous shit anymore but god this just scratched an itch I didn't even know I had. Sure, I have my issues with the show (some pretty poor character development in some of the secondary characters, story is a little hard to follow after a certain point, some of the mech based science bugs me, and the whole Spiral Energy thing is ridiculous) but god damn do they seem insignificant when put up against an awesome soundtrack, awesome visuals (a little jenky considering how old it is), and a downright stellar main cast.

If it wasn't for my absolute love for Zeta Gundam this might have taken the place as my all time favorite mech anime (you all know me well enough to know how high of praise this is). I can't wait to watch the movies this weekend (yea they're recaps but apparently the second movie makes the final fight even more epic then it already was) and I'm sad to think there is no more of this wonderful show to watch (manly tears were shed at this realization).

    1. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

Finally got both movies watched and I have to say for recap/condensation movies they were pretty damn good.

The first one was what you'd expect from a condensation of the first 15 episodes and while it was good some of the changes were kinda weird (like the final battle with the Four Generals, while I like this version somewhat more than the original fights it left out a lot of what motivated Simon to break out of his meek self and into the person he became) and a little off-putting. Overall though enjoyable.

Now the second one was, well I just don't know how to put it because I don't think there is a word in any language that can describe just how pure fucking awesome it was. Again some of the changes were weird and off-putting but that final battle was beyond awesome, probably the most enjoyable 30 minutes I've ever seen in a movie. Pure fucking insanity is the only real way to summarize it.

Without a doubt this is probably going to go down as one of my all time favorite mech anime and anime of all time (nothing will ever beat out Zeta Gundam for top mech anime but this is a close fucking second and Aria will always remain my all time favorite anime but this is close up there (displaced by like 5 or 6 other shows, definitely in the top 10 though)). After watching the movies I just can't talk myself out of buying this now and I must own this for my collection (I just wish it didn't cost so much x.x). I didn't think Trigger could top Kill la Kill for me but they did and did it before Kill la Kill was even created, god damn this show and the movies were amazing (I just wish it didn't take me 11 years to finally watch it).

    2. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I never did watch the movies but now I'm going to after reading what you said. I always thought since they were just recaps of the series that it'd be better to just rewatch the series but that second movie must be amazing.

    3. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

For the final fight alone the second movie is worth watching, it's just that fucking awesome. As I said there are some changes that just seemed weird to me (mostly with story and character flow, they retconned a lot of what happened in the last 3-4 eps and completely condensed the whole Anti-Spiral reveal/Simon arrest into like 10-15 minutes) but the movies are worth a watch (though overall the story is laid out better and the characters progress more fluidly in the series) if you want to say you've had the complete TTGL experience (though they underplay Kamina a lot more than I'd of preferred, he's still a major focus but it seems they really rushed through his arc to get to the more meaty story bits which felt like a complete disregard for his importance (the second movie does a good job and establishing how important he was but it felt really underplayed in the first movie)).

  18. Heh, just wait it gets worse. Just about every episode has been ending on a cliff hangar and episode 4 ups the stakes big time. I knew we were in for a hell off a season with this one but it's definitely a lot darker then the first two (I won't mention Fumoffu since it's pretty much just a comedy anyways). I just can't wait until we get to see something that I wish I could mention (if you pay attention to the opening you'll see what I mean), going to be fucking awesome.
  19. I haven't played it but you do get one more weapon in the game but I won't say what it is since I don't want to ruin it for DX if he hasn't gotten that far yet (I've seen the entirety of the game played through on Twitch). Gotta say I've never been interested in the GoW series but after seeing people play through it on Twitch I might just have to pick this up eventually, the story is extremely fucking good and the game play looks awesome.
  20. Oh yeah, you better get hyped because this season looks like shit is going to ramp up exponentially (yea, since I watch subs I already got to watch the first ep on CR). All I have to say is I'm so fucking glad the wait is over (a friend of mine has read the novels and has been spoiling shit for me for years so I'm finally happy to get to watch it).
  21. Fucking hell that was a ride. Just finished watching Steins;Gate and I have to say its an amazing show. I finally understand why people love it so much. Characters are pretty interesting (pretty bland and stereotypical but none-the-less interesting), story is completely bonkers (we're talking Serial Experiments Lain and Boogiepop Phantom levels of bonkers) and amazing, and the sheer emotional ride this puts you through is both terrifying and exciting.

Sure it starts out pretty slow but once you get to the halfway mark it seriously starts moving at an intense pace. I normally don't praise anime this much but this is truly a great show, almost a masterpiece if I've ever seen one (probably one of the only shows I have rated at 10 on MAL that actually deserves the rating for all the right reasons, not just pure enjoyment). I highly recommend watching it if you haven't, it's definitely worth the time investment (and I'll admit it's not for everyone but if you want a show that tears your emotions to shreds and makes you think this is definitely one for you).

Seriously can't wait for Steins;Gate 0 to start airing on Thursday (really hope CR has the simulcast for it). Now I just need to find time to watch the movie and the OVA before it starts. Also need to hope the VN this is based off of goes on sale on Steam so I can see the actual story that wasn't adapted for the anime (and to see all the other endings).

    1. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

It eventually goes somewhere and that slow buildup doesn't really help it any in the beginning but its definitely worth slogging through those first few episodes to get to the good stuff (I won't lie I did almost drop it around episode 4 (Okabe's personality rubbed me the wrong way (as much as I find it funny it was infuriating)) but things start moving around that time and amp up at episode 12). The craziness doesn't ever really go away but it gets seriously toned down after shit starts hitting the fan (its really hard to sell this without leaking any of the plot, you'll just have to take my word for it).

    2. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

I finished it, and enjoyed it enough to watch 0 when Funi starts airing it on the 30th. It was all around depressing though as wild as it was past ep 12, all the way through the end. The OVA was a nice bright spot after all of that.

    3. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

0 is going to be a wild ride as well if the first episode is any indication so I'm really looking forward to whats to come. Besides FMP and Amanchu it's the only thing I'm excited to watch this season. Don't know if you were able to watch it (I don't know what Funi has posted, CR doesn't have the OVA/Movie/or the ep I'll talk about (had to dl all of them)) but you should see if you can watch the alternate version of episode 23 as it sets up 0 (nothing really different until the last 10 minutes) and will give you a good idea of where the story will be headed.

The movie is a fun little romp, not as good as the actual series but it ends the Steins;Gate perfect ending (which is what they adapted) nicely and takes place right after the OVA (don't know if Funi has it on their service, I know they have the license for it though).

  22. I finally saw it. I'm not going to go into specifics because there is so much fundamentally wrong with this movie it sickens me (and I finally understand why Mark Hamill had such a problem with how Rian Johnson wrote his character, that wasn't Luke. That was a washed up, pathetic excuse for a man). I can't believe we gave up the EU for this crap. I did, however, find the movie entertaining (an alright movie but abysmal Star Wars). Again Daisy Ridley was a joy to watch on screen and I thought she did a wonderful job as Rey in this film. As much as I hate his character I'm glad we finally got to see some actual development of Kylo's character (even though I will always refer to him as Emo Vader). Seeing Yoda again was a joy and brought a smile to my face. As much as I hate this movie it was wonderful and highly emotional to see Carrie in her last performance (which she killed by the way, one of the high points of the movie for me). Actually Sledge, Luke has one child in the novels (Ben Skywalker, powerful but not as powerful as his cousins Jacen and Jaina Solo) and he actually marries one of the Emporer's Hand (an elite cadre of force sensitive assassins loyal only to Palpatine, her name was Mara Jade). Palpatine actually inhabits six different clones of himself until he's finally killed off in the EU by Luke (after turning to the Dark Side for awhile). As for force ghosts in the old canon they never interacted with the living world except for training and mentoring those strong in the force so that's why we've never seen them exhibit power like Yoda did. Also Force Projection/Doggleganger was used in the old canon by people like Dooku and Luke (books/comics) but this is the first time we've seen it in the films and the new canon so who knows why they made it do this in the film. I could go on but I won't, this takes this topic off topic and I really only wanted to post my thoughts on this film.
  23. You must of forgot about it, the 4th season was announced like 6 or 7 months ago. I definitely can't wait, since Funi has the Simuldub that means Crunchy should have the sub streaming rights.
  24. Meh, flying in Battlefront is pretty much flying on rails. Once you learn that concept it's a breeze to get the hang of it (before I stopped playing Battlefront 1 I was pretty much an ace pilot with the X-Wing and A-Wing, Tie Fighters and Interceptors gave me more trouble due to how they were). While I'll admit the controls were a little different in Battlefront 2 (or the beta anyways, I still refuse to buy this shit show of game) the concept is still similar (believe me when I say it was easier to learn to fly in Battlefront for me, I still to this day cannot fly anything in BF4 or BF1. I so do not look forward to flight controls in BF5 (psst, take some design notes for Bandai Namco and the Ace Combat series. That's how true flight controls should be done)). Problem is the fix is a little to late. EA already lost a majority of the players who supported this game in the beginning and soured the rest of us on their shady ass design and practices (I really didn't have high hopes for Battlefront 2 after the first game failed to impress and I'm glad I didn't based off of beta gameplay). Yea, the fix is a step in the right direction but I still feel we'll get hosed in one way or another in BF5 when it finally releases. Glad you're enjoying it though.
