  1. I seriously cannot wait for this to come out. Finished the first season last week and boy was it fucking amazing.
  2. Scathelock is amazing if you have it set up right. Then again I don't have access to anything better atm (Scathelock is my highest Kinetic weapon besides Vigilance Wing and while I like VW I prefer Hard Light as my exotic (and I still have a distaste for Pulse Rifles after D1)). I get shit rng for engrams (both normal and powerful), it's getting ridiculous. I want a fucking Better Devils but it never drops. See I prefer Control and Clash, I feel they're better designed for the smaller maps we have. Supremacy takes to fucking long and if your team doesn't work together ends up being a fucking steamroll. Survival and Countdown are the same way. Since I have no one to actually play with due to play times I prefer the two modes that don't require constant communication, where lone wolfing it is actually viable. I'm really looking forward to IB next week though, should actually get me playing the game more consistently for the week (even though I go back to work on Monday). Hmmm, the nightfall really didn't look that bad this week then again I've been watching streamers do it. Last night Tea did 6 runs (three normal, three prestige) with some rather interesting team comps. They're fastest Prestige run was done with two Striker Titans and I believe a Void Warlock (not entirely sure, was half paying attention to it). Pulse nades are too fucking powerful and made the nightfall a joke (I watched them take out an ultra ogre with two pulse nades). Meh, I still haven't tried to do a Nightfall since it sounds like Guided Games isn't really that great (plus wait times are pretty bad I hear). Then again I have no real interest in it. I do my Flashpoint and Call to Arms every week and that's good enough for me (especially considering new patch for FFXIV next week), I go up about 3-4 PL ever week. Not a lot but it's good enough growth for me (276 now when I have my best shit equipped) since I don't raid, participate in Trials, or do either Nightfall.
  3. You'll hate me even more to hear I've gotten two of them, one from an exotic engram and my current one from my Call to Arms powerful engram. Oh Devour locks are broken. Tea runs Devour exclusively on his and I've seen what you can do with them. You're pretty much immortal as long as you have a nice recovery stack and keep Devour up. I know I'll be running it on my lock when I unlock Voidwalker.
  4. See I don't honestly care about weapons so they can stay on the token system (I have the weapons I'm most comfortable with right now. I main Scathelock (change it out for the DO hand cannon when I feel like it), Hardlight, and currently a random heavy I got from the gunsmith), what I want is the ability to buy the armor sets without needing to try my fucking luck (I'm fine with the exotic system so they can leave that in place, though I'd appreciate Bungie not giving me Lucky Pants every fucking time I get an exotic hunter armor piece). Since armor has nothing to do with the game anymore outside of giving you a choice between the three main stats I don't see a problem with selling it outright. Hell they can sell in at 10 armor and force us to infuse, I'm okay with that. Armor is nothing more then fashion now so the fucking retarded lock behind rep tokens is stupid. Want to keep them behind tokens? Fine, give me a set amount of tokens I need to use as currency and I'll go grind them (I, hate me all you want, actually enjoy 4v4 Crucible. I thought it'd be horrible but I've been enjoying the hell out of it (besides grinding out Call to Arms which thankfully is no longer a 8-9 game grind anymore). Don't get me wrong I'd love 6v6 again (come on make Iron Banana 6v6)). All Strider wants is for his Hunter to not looking like a fucking hobo. Meh, most of the Destiny streamers I watch (which are all hardcore) don't really care about gear diversity. Sure they'd like raid specific perks since the armor isn't exactly easy to come by if you don't have a raid team but they honestly don't care about that. They're bitching more about the fact that there is nothing for them to do. It was a lot harder to get things in D1, as we all know so well. Getting gear was a bitch if you didn't have the god of rng luck on your side and exotics were damn near impossible to get your hands on. This is the stuff they miss, the stuff they want. Like I said most hardcore players have everything in the game they want, be it all weapons or armor. There's nothing to work towards anymore. Sure a lot of these hardcore players had everything in D1 but not on every character. Teawrex, with the exception of a few pieces of class specific armor, has every weapon in the game with the exception of two rare drop raid weapons and all the armor pieces he wants (on all three classes). This is barely a month after launch and the guy has everything (again what he wants). I know of no one who had that a month after the D1 launch or even after any of the DLC launches. This goes to show just how casual the game is now (not a bad thing believe me, I'm just voicing things from their perspective having been a hardcore WoW player for 6 years). Most hardcore Destiny players feel they got kicked in the nuts and left on the ground suffering. Don't get me wrong most still love the game but most hate the fact that they now have to twiddle their thumbs until these weekly and monthly events happen (Faction Rally and Iron Banana (Banner)) to tie them over until Curse of Osiris launches. It's a double edged sword for Bungie that they still haven't learned to balance yet (they fucked up majorly with D1 and while they haven't fucked up with D2 they're off to somewhat a bad start with the community that kept D1 alive for so long). Shit I didn't even visit Xur this week since I knew he was selling shit (I'll get the Risk Runner on my Warlock when she gets that far). I'd rather keep my shards for infusion since my luck with legendary and exotic drops suck. They do need to work on his offerings though because they're not all that special (though I was happy he was selling Merciless and Wardcliff the last two weeks).
  5. Double jump is more then enough to get anywhere with a Hunter if you know what you're doing, triple jump is worthless unless you need a little more precision with your jumps (like getting that last Cayde chest on Io). Yea I know I'm a Hunter main but double jump is perfect the way it is, in fact I had to completely learn how to use Warlock's jump last night when I started it (took me forever to remember how it actually worked). I'll agree Arc Strider sucks, it's good for stun locking major's and yellow bars (and it's pretty effective in Crucible if you know what you're doing) but outside of that it's pretty meh. I actually enjoy Nightstalker, didn't think I would but I run with it constantly unless I'm doing something that requires my Golden Gun/Celestial Nighthawk combo. My only real issue with Hunter's is all their grenades suck except the Arc Bolt grenade. Most hardcore players aren't happy with the current state of things because the game is extremely casual with nothing for hardcore players to do. Almost every major streamer who plays Destiny cleared the 290's week 1, finished the raid the week it came out, have gone flawless in Trials every week, and have every piece of armor and every weapon in the game. Once you hit that mark what is there to do. With the Prestige raid coming out I think either this week or next week (not entirely sure) its the only piece of content they'll have to do (which most will have done right away). This token system kinda sucks. I have no choice in what gear I get, it's all rng based the engram and it sucks. Yea, it's a lot more accessible and easier to get gear now (unless you're stuck behind the soft cap (which I am, stuck at 272 right now) but I miss having a choice of buying what I want or need (my hunter looks like I went through a thrift store and bought the cheapest pieces of armor I could find. I really want the whole Crucible set because it's the best looking hunter gear (outside of the Trials gear) but I keep getting stuck with the same pieces of gear every time I turn in enough tokens for a rank up). I'm also not a fan of this wear whatever increases your PL mentality. Considering my Legendary Mark drought I can't continually infuse gear so I can keep the pieces I like and it sucks because I'll get pieces I like but I have to scrap them because they're useless and I need the legendary marks (I have shit luck with legendary engram drops, almost all of my legendaries come from rep turn ins and powerful engrams). Bungie needs to rework a few of these systems but they are by no means turning me away from the game, just gripes I have. Bungie did a lot of things right with this game but they dropped the ball on quite a few other things. The game being more casual is great for the longevity of this game (new players will constantly rolli in) but isolating you're hardcore base is going to fuck them in the long run if they don't remedy it. The hardcore community is what kept D1 alive and for Bungie to just abandon them in D2 with hopes of bringing in more players for more money is fucked up (yea, business and all but still). Most hardcore players have gone into casual mode hoping that Curse of Osiris brings in hardcore options so they can play again.
  6. Finally got around to watching Black Mirror since, you know, I'm bored because I can't work (and as much as I try I just can't bring myself to play anything game wise outside of FFXIV and a little bit of Destiny (I'm stuck at 267 and have no urge to do the Exotic quests and I really don't want to level another character right now)).

Gotta say this is definitely one of my favorite shows now. Really love how they're stand alone episodes that have no interconnection with each other (well they seem to all take place in the same year and same world (based on little hints I picked up in various episodes) but they're completely separate stories of their own). Some of the episode are really fucked up (the last episode of season 3, while not fucked up, is pretty fucking dark and has given rise to a new fear for me (saying what it is will ruin it if you haven't seen it), still one of my favorite episodes though) and some are really well thought out and emotional (the San Junipero episode is really fucking good).

All around it's a great fucking series (better be it's British, yeah I have a thing for British television) and I highly recommend it. Figured I'd start Stranger Things this weekend since it sounds like I'll be out of work for another week (according to my surgeon's nurse when I talked to her on the phone, I'll find out more tomorrow) and be ready for when season 2 airs in Oct.

      Stranger Things is a must.

I haven't watched Black Mirror yet, but I will at some point since you recommended it. Stranger Things is amazing. Do you have amazon prime? If so watch Orphen Black. Its another british series and very well done. They have every season except the final one on amazon prime streaming (then again the final season might be on there now, I haven't checked in a while).

Yea, I'll be watching Stranger Things starting Sunday since I'm out of work until the 9th now. Nah, I don't have Amazon Prime ($100 a year is a lot to pay when I rarely order anything from Amazon (besides the occasional CD but I've gone almost completely digital with music so I buy mostly digital albums now), not to mention how many other subscriptions/services I pay for (subbed to two MMO's, subbed to two Twitch streamers, CR sub, Netflix sub, and a PSN sub)) but I've heard of Orphen Black. I'd really like to see it but tis the joy of everyone having their own fucking streaming service now instead of consolidating it in one place like it used to be (I really miss the days when Netflix was the only sub service).

I highly recommend Black Mirror though I suggest you don't binge watch it. If you really want to go ahead but I suggest enjoying the series and drawing it out as long as you can (it's only 13 episodes for 3 seasons with 6 more on the way sometime this year), give yourself time between episodes to dwell and think about the episode(s) watched and think about the message being said. I watched two episodes a day up until S3 when I did 3 eps a day (really wish I would of just watched 2 a day to draw it out longer). My only real complaint is how short the series is currently but then again I should be used to it based on how many British series I've watched. Really hoping they do a season 5 after 4 is finished.

  7. Well yesterday was fun. Had really bad abdominal pain and ended up in the ER only to find out I had acute appendicitis and had to have surgery (all in all spent 10 hours in the ER, got home at 4:30 this morning). Now I'm in pain and out of work for at least a week. At least I get Vicadin as my pain killer (whenever my mother pucks the prescription up, I can't drive for the next week so yea).

Guess it's time to get caught up on my anime and game backlogs.

I'm a back sleeper. I use to be a side sleeper, but my shoulders aren't in the best condition anymore from slinging heavy objects, downstacking stock. I find that my arms will go to sleep and I'll wake up with them completely numb sometimes, and the arm that's not being slept upon just can't find a comfortable resting position. I'll sleep on my back, or in a slightly tilted side position where I'm not resting on one shoulder. My pillows are pretty old and I should invest in new ones. I sleep with two, and they are pretty flattened out... which is probably why I can't side sleep anymore.

I was using an extra firm pillow until a few nights ago. I swapped over to a soft with another soft pillow at a slight angle behind it for a little support and my neck has been feeling a bit better over the last couple days. The nerve issues in my arms have screwed me for years so I always sleep with a thin long sleeve shirt on with arm braces to keep my arms from curling and or going numb while I sleep. These ones specifically:

      https://www.amazon.com/ALEX-Toys-Elbow-Universal-Immobilizer/dp/B004QJK8US/ref=pd_bxgy_121_img_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=KV976FVE9XD80TX2G89K

They work good and after months my arms stopped going numb in the middle of the night. Its a bit awkward to sleep with my arms at a 30 degree angle or so all night but its worth it not to wake up with arm pain. x_x

I do like sleeping with a pillow in between my knees too. It seems to help keep my posture good while I side sleep and it adds a bit more comfort.

    4. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

Heh, I sleep with a pillow between my legs/knees as well. It's really good for managing back pain if you suffer from it as it keeps your spine straighter (and it's actually a lot more comfortable too, my knees used to hurt in the morning when I didn't use one. Now they don't). Sadly my back has been killing me over the last few days since I can't sleep like I normally do (this inclined sleeping fucking sucks. Hopefully tomorrow night I'll be able so sleep normally again (pain is mostly gone so lying on my left side shouldn't be a problem, right side will still be an issue for awhile)).

  8. So I finally beat the story today and I have to say I'm actually quite impressed with what Bungie did with Destiny 2. Story was great but there were a few low points, as DX said the humor was upped considerably (I now officially love Cayde even more), and the loot is generously doled out as you level (I got 2 exotic engrams before I was even 12, one from a public event and one from a random chest). While I still have problems with the game (there's a few things they didn't change from D1 that irk me and I'm still pissed about the Crucible changes) all in all it's definitely worth a buy and play through if your so inclined (though if you're not willing to pay full price wait until it goes on sale). Now to start the long and arduous power level grind, ugh.
  9. Heh, Teawrex finally hit 290 today after 7 hours of grinding for it. It's nice they're so giving with the legendary and exotic gear but it seems they want you to work for that damn power level (which apparently the highest PL guardian right now is or was sitting at 296 as of 4 pm today). Seems to be the best way of going about it is just grinding out rep with each of the factions and hoping for the best (and getting in a clan, the damn rewards you get from that can be fucking amazing from what I've seen) as well as doing you're exotic weapon quests and what not (Tea has a Strum at 294 (Kinetic Exotic Handcannon, pretty sweet looking if you ask me. He had a 294 Multi-tool but he infused it into a legendary energy scout) until the raid goes live Wednesday. The Nightfall looked pretty damn interesting (I was watching Gothalion and Broman do it this morning) and I kind of like the idea of a time limit (though it doesn't seem to be all that bad, they cleared with plenty of time to spare). Sadly the one downside to watching Tea play is he doesn't do the Strikes since he's so obsessed with hitting 300 PL before the raid so it's nice to hear that at least some of them are fun. After watching Tea grind all day today (yea, I spent a lot of time watching Twitch today. I really need to find something better to do with my time on days off) I broke down and purchased it, just waiting on it to download (got the standard edition, if I end up enjoying it I'll buy the season pass). The adventures look like fun (and they're nice little additions to the story), public events actually look like they're worth doing now (and those heroic versions for some of them look like fun), the story seems pretty damn solid, and honestly I'm just surprised by how much Bungie did to improve upon shit they fucked up in D1 (there are still things I see that didn't get fixed but they're minor). I look forward to giving this a go tomorrow after my initial FFXIV grind, will be a nice distraction until I get my ass in gear to play Horizon.
  10. Oh I knew it was a joke but after thinking about it I really don't want to wait until Oct (especially considering the new FFXIV patch goes live the week before) to play it and honestly I suck at shooters when I use a mouse and keyboard, better off just getting it on my PS4. I'm going to watch some more streamers today and make my final decision by tomorrow (I was watching some last night before I finally passed out, seems like the higher you go in Power Level the harder it is to raise it (seems like the loot system isn't working correctly, Teawrex was stuck at 284-285 before I went to bed) which kind of turns me off then again I'm not exactly looking at getting into the raid until Guided Games becomes available for it. Oh yea and I am off every Sunday so there is at least one day a week we can try and do stuff if I do buy it.
  11. Pfft, I wish. I pretty much instantly log into FFXIV, TOR, or Wildlands now when I boot my PC up. I really do need to get through that backlog though. DX you're supposed to convince me not to buy the game not giving me more reasons to go out and buy it Meh, I might break down this weekend and buy it on my PS4 (just for those milestones which I share 90% of them with you on my side (pretty much all but my one VoG clear)). I keep hearing good things about it everywhere I go and honestly if it gives me a reason to step away from FFXIV for awhile (at least a few days out of the week, I have nothing to do until Oct when the new patch hits) why not. Then again I'm backing down from my statement of not supporting Bungie and their lackluster game design (I still can't understand how the developers of Halo failed so fucking hard with D1, then again most of the Halo team stayed with Microsoft to form 343. The lack of understanding still stands).
  12. So pretty much what I thought, Destiny 1.5. Based off of what little I've seen on streams (good god Streamers got access to it yesterday well before the launch window) that's what I've been able to gather. While I'm happy to hear there's a story (and its a pretty good one from what I hear) it's still a little to late for me. Adventures, as far as I've been able to gather, are one time only so once it's done it's done. The only repeatable content is story missions (besides the obvious ones) which sucks because why go to work to make these things and limit it to one play through per character. It also sucks because it pretty much puts you at the same place you were at when you got to max level in D1, gear grind and wait for raid/new dlc (and we all know how fun that was). Honestly I'm not overly impressed, I'm waiting for actual reviews to hit before I make my final decision on whether I want to buy this or not (and waiting on my co-workers impressions, he took all week off to play it so I won't find out what he thought until Monday. I look forward to your impressions on Strikes). I enjoyed the beta for what it was but honestly I don't think what I experienced was enough to buy this game. Only real reason I'm considering it is because I'm in a dead period for games now until Ace Combat 7 comes out and I'm burned out in both TOR and FFXIV (fuck I've been playing Ghost Recon Wildlands because I have nothing I really want to play (I can't seem to get my lazy ass in gear to beat Horizon (which I need to, DLC hits in December) or Andromeda (honestly bored with it and my need to finish everything in one play through burned me out quickly)) and before you ask no I did not buy it, I got a free copy of it when I bought my computer. I just finally got off my ass and installed it two weeks ago). Before you ask I'll probably buy it on PC if I do get it, for some reason console gaming is not really all that interesting anymore (gasp, I know. I'm turning into a PC master race gamer. I should shoot myself before it gets worse. And with your play times we probably wouldn't be able to play together anyways).
  13. Finally got caught up on my backlog of Marvel movies over the last two weeks (well the backlog of ones I wanted to watch, the only one's I haven't seen are Thor 2, Homecoming (which I will watch eventually), Ant Man (no real interest in seeing it) and I've only seen half of the first Captain America). Will say things make a lot more sense now in the big picture after getting them watched, thoughts below:

Winter Soldier: As much as I hat Cap I really enjoyed this movie and when my friend said shit hit the fan he wasn't kidding. I finally understand why Shield wasn't around in Avengers 2 (I really had no idea what was going on since I never watched the TV show and I really had no interest in watching Winter Soldier until recently) so a lot of my questions about certain things were finally answered. Really like how it played out more like a spy/action flick then a superhero flick, definitely one of my favorites in the the Marvel verse behind GoG 1 & 2 and Civil War.

Civil War: Good god I really enjoyed this movie though I do feel like the whole movie focused more on Cap and Stark's underlying past issues (and personal issues) then it did on the real issues at hand (it really felt more like a Cap obsessing over Bucky and Stark reliving his daddy issues more then a flick about a superhuman civil war). Have to say I'm completely pumped to see the Black Panther flick, after seeing him in Civil War I'm sold on him (great actor choice and the character alone is really interesting). I have a ton of questions and theories now about how Infinity War is going to play out (can anyone say Nomad).

Doctor Strange: I honestly didn't know about this one and based on the reviews I had seen about it I wasn't even sure if I'd like it. Glad to say I'm wrong. Though I really don't like Strange (his attitude rubs me the wrong way) I really enjoyed the movie (fucking trippy as hell). Considering I knew nothing of this character I thought it was a really good origin story for the character (yes I know the actual origin story but for the MCU this is actually a great introduction). I have some issues with the movie (like a lot of people) but I'm interested to see what his role is in the MCU going forward (especially considering the Infinity War movies are going to reset the MCU (or at least kill off quite a few heroes)).

Guardians 2: Watched this last night and I absolutely loved it, tied for favorite Marvel movie with Guardians 1. Brought back all of the charm and humor from the first one and backed it up with a pretty serious story. Was great to see how the interactions between all the characters have evolved from the first one and yes Baby Groot was fucking adorable (the beginning of the movie was freaking cute with him dancing, yes I said cute (get over it)). Overall the movie was a fun ride and the ending, while sad, was a great way to send off such a great character (even if he was an ass).

So yea, gotta say the Marvel movies are really impressing me considering my general distaste for superheroes (I'm sorry my heroes as a kid were the Ninja Turtles, Transformers, and G.I. Joe. Superheroes never realy interested me, men in tight spandex beating up other men in similar costumes just seemed wrong). As I said above I'm really looking forward to the Black Panther movie and after finally watching Civil War I'm really looking forward to seeing how things play out in the Infinity War movies.

Winter Soldier was great, but Captain America was ruined for me in Civil War. I think he was a complete dick for the things he did and I was rooting for Iron Man to kill him and Bucky. XD I'll always consider Winter Soldier as the true sequel to the first Avengers movie and Avengers 2 as a sequel to winter soldier.

      Guardians 2 was amazing. :D

As for the movies you haven't seen yet. Thor 2 was a solid stand alone movie and I recommend watching it because there will probably be references to it in the infinity war movie. Ant Man can be skipped. It was a fun movie and I'd watch it again but its not something critical to the franchise. The first captain america movie is just an origin story. It was a good movie, but it already feels dated to me. I haven't seen homecoming yet but I heard its decent.

  14. Well I need to go change my pants now. Can it be 2018 already so I can get my hands on this game? Gah, I really want to know what brought this conflict on now especially since it takes place after 6. Eursea has some balls taking on Osea and it's well trained and well equipped military (especially their Air Force, I wonder if Razgriz Squadron is still around (then again this takes place 9 years after 5 so who knows, would really like to fly with Blaze and Edge again)).
  15. As I said they were barely in it so I'm not surprised you didn't know they were there, which sucks because every member of Section 9 is a major part of the team and a major part of the stories (not so much in the original movie or the 2nd movie but they all play major rolls in SAC and 2nd Gig). I kinda figured this would be an origin movie going in and that's why I said they'd most likely be making another one (than again this movie didn't get a good score on Rotten Tomatoes so who knows, seems Hollywood is actually taking those ratings a little more seriously lately). As I said someone not familiar or overly into the source material/franchise would like this movie. It's probably not a movie you'll re-watch multiple times (like Star Wars and what not) but one you can enjoy at least once (I only say that because I'm currently re-watching SAC again and I'm finding even more problems with the movie, I won't list them but yea).
