  1. Well I won't be getting BF1 now due to the car accident I was in today leaving work. I won't get into the details but everyone involved is ok (I have a sore shoulder wear the seat belt locked up but nothing serious) but my car is pretty much fucked so I now get to go shopping for a new one this weekend (yay, more payments I can't afford but it'll be cheaper than getting the damage repaired). What a lovely day to end my work day (and I got off early due to having to attend a quarterly meeting that suffice to say I missed).

It's gotta suck because if it wouldn't have been for your unemployment situation you'd probably have more flexibility I'm guessing.

I don't know what the car market is like there, I know my previous car I bought for $14k with $3000 down. My notes ended up being $257 a month for 5 years. When it was totaled I was given $7000 for it and turned around and bought the only car I could find for $7000 that didn't have 100k miles on it.  Then again the only reason they came down from the $10k asking price was because they thought I wouldn't find out about its busted transmission. Which they replaced with one that's about to go out again soon, dirty bastards.

Yea if that whole unemployment situation hadn't happened I'd actually have more flexibility but shit happens (as my mother put it if I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any at all and bad luck just seems to be the theme to my year currently).

Considering I live in the heart of the Bakken the market has been shitty for the last 5 years since I moved out here (god damn greedy ass people wanting their cut of the oil money). It's come down a bit but not enough for it to probably be plausible for me to get an affordable car, I'd probably have more luck out in eastern ND where I'm originally from. Luckily my father is a shrewd negotiator and he'll be coming with me to shop around. He always gets what he wants when it comes to auto dealing so it'll be nice to have him with (plus we're hoping to get at least something out of my other car from a local auto shop/junk yard).

That is fucking dirty. I honestly think that's why the place I bought my car from gave us such a good deal on it because they knew the transmission was going out (fucking shady ass place but the car only had a little more then 92,000 miles on it and was one of the few vehicles in good shape with less then 100k on it) and didn't bother changing it out beforehand (I swear that car had more problems when it came to the transmission it wasn't funny).

I've own 3 cars, 2 of them I got shafted. My very first car, the assholes took the bose speakers out of the back of it and put it in the other car they thought I'd get but I didn't. They didn't put them back into the car I actually got, and I didn't notice until I drove it off the lot. I hate car shopping, I hate the game you have to play to get a decent deal. With the internet, you know how much they are up charging on the car and they still act like you don't know, and all that information is false on the internet, when its not. My second car that I mentioned I paid $14k for was a year old, and they wanted $17k for it... basically the price of a brand new one. I told them I wasn't going to pay that much and I had to inconvenience myself and wait 2 months because I knew no one would give them the price of a new car for a year old model until they gave in and sold it to me.
