  1. Meh, I'm happy the Cabal are finally getting their spotlight but I just can't bring myself to be amazed or overly interested in this story. I'll give the beta a try but I just don't see myself getting back into Destiny (especially with the announcement of Anthem, if I had to choose right this instant I'd choose Anthem (it looks better and has a much more interesting concept than Destiny)).
  2. They're going for a more FF approach to this by allowing you to be anything you want which I like (I can play every Job on one character in FFXIV which has ruined me for other MMO's now). I'm just wondering how many suit variants they're going to have. Colossus is obviously a tank based suit with heavy armor and I'm assuming heavier armaments. Ranger seems to be the jack of all trades middle road suit, most likely packing medium armor and a range of weapons. Make me wonder if we're also going to get a light, agile suit for hit-and-run tactics. I'm assuming this is all one planet and we won't be traveling off of it (based on the look of the city the most advanced things we have are the suits and those giant AT-AT things, I could be wrong but it seems this is going to be a more grounded game unlike Destiny). It seems like travel is seamless so I'm assuming fast travel won't be a thing since the suits apparently come with a jet pack/rocket booster attachments that allows them to fly (based on the video, seems like it's infinite as long as you can control it properly). Again I could be wrong and there might be a fast-travel system but based on that video I wouldn't want to use it. Seems like a lot of random shit goes on when traveling through the world and I'd hate to miss any of it (plus that jungle/forest looked amazing in the vid). I wonder what Bungie's response to this is going to be as it's obvious this is superior to Destiny 2 and it's not even in alpha yet. It's obvious that EA/BioWare has been watching Bungie and learning from their fuck ups (by what I understand there is a crafting system in Anthem so that already beats D2 out in my books). As I said before I'll be watching this closely. My interest is piqued but until I can actually get my hands on it and try it I'll reserve judgement (sadly you just know any beta for this game is going to be locked behind a pre-order).
  3. Color me impressed, still not 100% sold but I'll keep a close eye on this one. Starting to wonder if maybe some of those Bungie employees that jumped ship went over to BioWare because this looks like they took the original concept of Destiny (open world, do as you please, etc) and actually went through with it. You can definitely tell this was done by BioWare Edmonton and not one of the support teams.
  4. Still not impressed. I love how everyone is swooning over this when all we're getting is more of the same with minor tweaks. They should of never revamped the original Battlefront system from the old games, it worked well. You only got to choose a character type depending on faction and never got to choose a weapon, you were stuck with whatever that class had for weapons and whatever they had for a special gadget. There will never be a cap on classes. Not only is it retarded (yea, it sucks when everyone picks up the same kit but that's the inherent flaw with a class based shooter like this. The only games that do this are currently still in Alpha builds (like Squad)) but you ruin the very spirit of the game, allowing you to do whatever you want and play how you want. This isn't a hero shooter where limiting same hero selection is a must as it ruins game balance. Plus if they do it with this they'll do it with Battlefield and believe me when I say that doesn't need anymore reason for people not to play it.
  5. A lot of that has to do with the development hell Andromeda sat in for years prior to the release. Meh, it's Destiny with a hint Crisis (or any other game with a suit you get into). Honestly I'm burned out on these game due to Destiny so I'll most likely pass on this unless it does something that completely wows me.
  6. So the new computer finally arrived and boy is it beautiful (and bigger then I thought, thing is huge). I'm now not looking forward to installing everything I need on it to get it up to snuff like my laptop is (so much to do). Sadly I won't be playing FFXIV tonight because it's going to take 3+ hours to download and install all the updates (not to mention Heavensward which I opted to dl instead of digging my disk out of the closet).

I'll take pictures of it tomorrow and post them, to tired to do it right now as I spent the last two hours digging it out of the box and setting it up.

Congrats! :D I don't know about FFXIV folder structure but I was able to copy over my guild wars 2 install directory from one hard drive to another using a USB 3 flash drive and got the game up and running in minutes instead of downloading for over 2 hours. If you have windows 10 one that make sure you set it to get that creators update to install before the newest graphics drivers. I heard a few ppl had issues installing the latest nvidia drivers on win 10 that didn't have that update done yet.

    2. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

Eh, I didn't think of copying the files over (not like I don't have enough external storage to do so). A fresh install is for the best though as FFXIV had some issues on my laptop and I'm afraid they might of transferred with (plus I'm less than a week from early access for Stormblood so a fresh install is probably for the best). Plus the folder structure is a nightmare (the main game is under Program files but everything else is under a folder in My Documents (fucking weird if you ask me, WoW had a similar set up to GW2 so I'm used to that).

I'll have to look into the creators update since I was forced into Windows 10 (I got the Professional version and I actually like it more than the Home version, I'm still going to have to customize it more to my liking either tomorrow or Sunday because some of these UI elements bug the hell out of me), haven't really had time to update Win 10 or the graphics drivers yet.

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Win 10 has a tendency of forcing updates on you so expect them to happen anytime. 😑 you can set windows update active hours so you won't get random update notifications or reset prompts during hours you would be gaming. Also make sure to check your privacy settings and turning off all pointless background apps. Click on the little cortana circle in the task bar (Or the search icon if you have stock win 10 prior to even the anniversary update) and type the word setting or privacy. It'll give you all the system settings in the results so you don't have to search thru the control panel for an hour.

  7. Must....have.....now......! I don't think I can wait until 2018 now. Why Bandai Namco, why do you do this to me? Don't tease me like this. I've waited 10 years for another Strangereal Ace title and now you tease me, gah! I wonder what happened between Osea and Usea because at the end of 5 they were allies if I remember correctly. Kind of conflicted about fighting against Osea since you save their asses in 5. I also love the call signs they give the player character. Trigger sounds nice (not as cool as Cipher (0), Mobius 1 (4), Blaze (5), or Talisman (6)).
  8. Life is Strange is definitely worth picking up and I only base that off of episode 1 (the only one I've played, I own all 5 episodes through Steam but I haven't had the time to go through the other 5 episodes (I bought the season pass back when ep 1 came out)). I'm going to have to pick it up here since it's free, been meaning to get it for PS4.
  9. Oh god, the CG in Berserk is horrible. It's the main reason why I won't even watch the new one (that is some of the worst CG animation I have ever seen). Funi probably does pump money into shows, I know either last year or so they actually helped co-produce an anime (don't remember the name). CN funneling money that way is a little less believable since they have one 4-5 hour block a week that shows anime (and of those very few are actually popular outside of AoT and Dragonball), wouldn't really pay for them to funnel money that way (plus they're too interested in their own properties). The practice of fixing up shows for BD/DVD release has been in effect for a long time, they pretty much release a sub-standard version for TV and the fix up all the problems for the video release. In fact, with the exception of very few studios that can afford to do it right the first time, almost every anime shown/made for TV goes through this process. I can name numerous examples of this considering I still have my fansubs and own the actual video versions of some shows (the differences are pretty noticeable). We pay these ridiculous prices not because of the animation quality or the fact that it's on BD, we pay it because of who owns the rights. Not to mention do you know how hard it is to get broadcast/home video rights for music? Extremely hard, this is the reason why a lot of anime have their opening and ending songs changed when they're released on video in the States because the rights holders for the original songs want a huge sum of money to allow that music to be put in. Pretty much you pay that money because of the music, not because of the show or its animation quaility (though some shows do warrant a huge markup based on popularity (Kill la Kill is a good example, each BD comes with 4 eps and last I checked was being sold at $49 a pop (I'd really like to get my hands on this but I'm not paying $300-$400 for a show, last time I did that was when I bought the original Pioneer boxset for Trigun back in the day ($270 for it)). I'm accustomed to this since I buy a lot of anime which is why I always shop around Black Friday/Christmas, Right Stuf has such amazing holiday sales that it's hard to pass them up (I think last year I spent $500 all together and made off with like 7 series and 3-5 OVA's/Movies). Yea, I need a life because I know entirely to much about this stuff.
  10. I have no real input on the AoT stuff because I'm one of those people who find it to be meh (the only real reason it's popular is that it's been awhile since we've had an anime that all gore and fighting, those kind of went the way of the dinosaur after the original anime boom back in the early 2000's. Beyond that I really don't see whats interesting (I'm sorry the story is just bad)). T&A sells and it's quick to produce hence why you see so many harem related anime these days (it's the reason why I've lost my taste for newer anime. I mean I find the rare gem here and there (Saga of Tanya the Evil being one of those) but overall I have no interest in watching a show about a guy who's surrounded by women and doesn't know what to do (very few, if any, of them are any good)). I mean Slice and Life anime is starting to go down this route now as well and it saddens me as it's my favorite genre now-a-days (Mech anime has really gone down hill the last few years (what with the various shitty Gundams (IBO was good but nowhere near as good as the shows that came before it) and the lackluster Macross Delta (I still haven't watched it because of the bad reviews it's gotten), there hasn't been any real good historical or sci-fi related anime, and well Shoujo anime has pretty much suffered the same problem as harem shows (yes I watch Shoujo anime, ask Eppy about of conversations in the past)). As far as I understand it animators aren't unionized in Japan (nor do I think they believe in unions). Anime isn't exactly looked highly upon in Japan, never really has been and animators have always been treated like shit outside of those few that make a name for themselves (like Tomino (though he's been getting a lot of flack lately), Miyazaki, Anno, etc.). The only real reason the industry is still doing alright is because of the amount of money it was bringing in on the foreign market (pretty much everywhere but Japan) and now that streaming has really taken off it's allowing even more money to come in. Sadly that doesn't trickle down to the animators which is why they're in this predicament right now (yea I pretty much TL;DR'd the video, plus you'd be surprised how much of this shit gets outsourced to China/Taiwan/Korea (another reason why animators in Japan get paid pennies)). Go over to Anime News Network, Justin Sevakis goes over quite a bit of this in his column Answerman (he pretty much answers questions from readers and a lot of them have been about the inudstry as of late, really good reads if you ask me). I'm honestly surprised the industry hasn't imploded upon itself kind of like it did over here (I mean we have like 4 companies to even buy anime from anymore after ADV crumbled and the smaller publishers went out of business).
  11. Finished watching Saga of Tanya the Evil (Youjo Senki) last night and what a fucking trip it was. Enjoyed every minute of it which is odd for me with newer anime. For a show that uses a villain for a main character (yes this is not you're typical good guy anime show) it certainly took some risks that I thought paid off (from using a Nazi Germany like country in the Empire (this is set in a world similar to ours during the WWI era) and a sadistic 11-year old girls a the protagonist (the villain)).

Gotta say I highly recommend giving it a watch if you can (currently only up on Crunchyroll, I know Funi has the rights so it may eventually see a State side release). Can't wait for the second season.

The last school anime I enjoyed beside Hagani, was Netoge no Yome wa Onna no Ko Janai to Omotta? (And You Thought There Is Never a Girl Online?). Because it wallowed in MMO/Online gaming tropes (girl gamers, RMT, P2W, etc) which I found extremely enjoyable. It also had my mouse in anime form XD. Its a gaming anime, that's actually about the characters playing an MMO without being stuck inside of it. It's four people that play in a party often, and they end up finding out they all go to the same school, and actually know each other... being in different social echelons, they normally wouldn't hang out with each other, so they form an after school club to play on campus. Its pretty light-hearted, but has some great moments.

  12. So to get this back on track I just got done watching this. I have to say I really enjoyed the movie and this is coming from a guy who has very little knowledge of X-Men, it was a nice send-off to Hugh's version of Wolverine and Patrick's version of Professor X (if you think we've seen the last of these characters you're mistaken, not only is Wolverine a money maker because everyone and their mom knows who he is I'm pretty sure he'll be brought into the current set of X-Men movies played by someone else (if they continue on)). I honestly understand why this movie was as big as it was. My only problem is the whole poisoning aspect. I don't know if this is even in the comics (never read them nor do I plan on it) but you can't tell me a man with his regeneration abilities can't fight off the poisoning? I get it, Logan is 197 years old in this movie. He's old, run down, and after a lifetime of fighting and taking a beating his body can't keep up anymore but they made it sound like this was due to the poisoning more then old age (plus you'd think this would of been a factor earlier on after he originally got the adamantium grafted to his skeletal frame). I never once thought Logan was immortal, I knew he'd eventually die of old age but this was kind of a let down for the character (though the way he went out was a pretty nice send off). Oh there will be another movie, maybe not a direct sequel but there will be another one. They just introduced X-23 to the X-Men movie franchise, there's no way they'll let that die out considering how popular she is as the new Wolverine in the comics (and lets face it she's a complete badass and will be just as big of a money maker as Logan was).
  13. Oh god if you have the right weapons with HP regen, Life Steal on Hit, and life on kill you'll never die as a DH due to their massive dps. I think I've maybe died once and that's because I fucked up and pulled more mobs than I could take. My DH is currently set up as follows: https://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Unhallowed-1820/hero/89442924 That build is extremely op for me. Drop two Sentries, drop caltrops to stop enemies from getting closer, Vault when needed, and when worst comes to worst Multi-shot to freeze enemies in their tracks and mow them down with Rapid Fire. I have so much hatred generation that I rarely run out while even Rapid Firing (only on boss fights but I regenerate it so fast that it's barely a weakness). Plus my healing is so off the chain that a hit that takes half my life is almost instantly healed back up. It's freaking nuts how OP this class is.
  14. 1) Yes and no. It's advisable to keep you're squadmates as well geared as you are but not entirely necessary (well I should say the ones you use, I used the same two squadmates throughout the entire game so I only worried about keeping them geared). You'll have one squad mate death you can't avoid (and it is a choice between 2 characters, that's not really a spoiler as by now you should of heard of this considering the age of the game) and one that you can avoid as long as you pick the right dialog choices and yes they are perma-death if they happen in a cutscene. Considering how often certain pieces of gear drop you'll never have to worry about gear being lost as you can either pick it up somewhere else or buy it (the only exception are Spectre class weapons (you'll be learning about them shortly), there's only one set you can buy and another set you can pick up if you're lucky (these are the best weapons in the game, I suggest buying the first set when you can (it'll be awhile as they are expensive))). 2) I never micromanaged combat in either KoToR1 or ME1, I let the NPC's decide what to do. The one thing I'll give ME is that the squad AI isn't bad and can fend for itself (no where near as good as they do in 2 or 3 but still better then other games). It's really your choice if you want to micromanage them or not. 3) Infiltrator isn't bad in the late game but just make sure you know how to play it effectively. There are some pretty hairy fights toward the end of the game that can be extremely difficult to get through as an Infiltrator. I suggest getting used to using you're pistol as your primary weapon if you decide to continue down the Infiltrator path as the sniper rifle isn't advisable unless you're engaging and extreme long ranges (and with the way heat works you get 1-2 shots before you're gun overheats (2 if you have the best sniper in game with the best add-ons)). Not trying to turn you away from it as I played my first time through as an Infiltrator and loved it but the game is ten times easier to play through as a Soldier (in fact it's pretty much easy mode if you do). 4) Meh, if you save often you'll be fine if you don't use medi-gels like a nut but I suggest using them every time you have to. They're not sparse but they also aren't as plentiful as you'd like them. 5) Use nades every change you get. They spawn like rabbits so you'll never not have grenades. As DX said interact with everyone as side quests are everywhere, you never really know who'll have one and who won't (god I love how ME:A made this so much easier to tell, about the only thing they did right). Also pick you're squad composition to compliment you're current play style/class. As an Infiltrator I ran Wrex and Liara, Wrex due to him being a Soldier and Liara because she was Biotic. Gave me a little of everything since Infiltrators are Tech based in ME (changes in ME:A) and allowed me to get through the game with relative ease. If I remember correctly ME has a system that will tell you if you're heavily leaning toward Tech/Biotic/Soldier based teams (it's a good judge of who you should and shouldn't bring with you). Other then that enjoy your play through. ME1 is my second favorite in the series after ME3 (I liked ME3. It had superior storytelling, the plot was amazing, character interactions were at their best, and I actually like how it originally wrapped up. All you haters can now roast me).
  15. Meh, I actually thought both bosses were a cake walk and that's having played it on Nightmare difficulty (before the difficulty changes). I'm currently going through what was considered Hell difficulty before the changes (though I'm stalled because I'm having a hard time willing myself to play this again). Then again Demon Hunters are extremely broken and make the game extremely easy to play after the first act. The blue quest rewards are still there even in the harder difficulties (which makes me wonder why they even give them out, my DH is decked out in Legendary, Rare, and Set gear so why the hell would I want a piece of blue gear for completing a quest). RoS was a much better story for me than D3. I actually enjoyed it a lot more and while the ending was cliche it was expected, Blizzard will put out another Diablo game hence the ending (yeah that probably ruined the ending a little bit but play it to actually find out what happens). Not only was it well thought out it didn't feel forced like D3's ending did (I mean come on, they forced the entirety of the 3rd and 4th Acts our their ass. Not only was it extremely predictable it wasn't even original (nor was any of the supporting lore even in D1 or D2)). Plus it had some pretty damn good boss fights leading up to the final confrontation. Once the Necromancer patch goes live I might pick this up again to give it another run through, just for the hope that Necromancers are still as broken as they were in D2 (I doubt it but I can dream).
  16. So I was bored yesterday and played some of the Overwatch free weekend (sadly I won't have anymore time to play it). Quite honestly I'm actually considering buying it now because Quickplay was not as bad as it was last time. It seems either people have learned to play the game. Really like a lot of the changes the game has gone through since the last time I played (really happy to see you can only have one of each hero on a team now, such a fucking lovely change). I actually think I could stomach the grind to 25 to play comp now (if I could find the time to play it, I'm working on my Bard's Anima Weapon in FFXIV and I've got less than a month till early access for the expac launches (and I still have to beat ME:A and Horizon)).

I've also pretty much proved that I'm going to be stuck playing healers as I have lost all skill at playing anything but them. Went on a tear with Lucio last night, getting play of the game for knocking two people off the map on Ilios and getting three more kills on top of it. I have to say if I didn't love Mercy as much as I do I'd have to say Lucio is my favorite hero (also got a Legendary skin for him, not to hip on it as its the blue hockey one but still it was a nice gain from a lootbox). I also wall skated my way out of dying in the center well on the first part of Ilios, was pretty fucking epic (considering I didn't think it could be done).

I also have to point out that I really like Orisa. I never actually played as her but she was a major reason as to why my group won on Defense for Volskaya in the first part of the map (that place down shield is powerful with the right set up). She's a very nice addition to the hero lineup. Also have to say I fucking hate Sombra, in the right hands she's a fucking nightmare.

    1. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

Nah, everyone was too green to even know the "Pharmercy" combo or they just weren't using it. Honestly I barely ran into anyone on the opposing team playing Phara (maybe two and they sucked, I easily killed them as Lucio). Out of 10 matches I only lost one because my team wouldn't play worth the shit and kept letting me die (I was playing Mercy and no one would protect me. I kept getting flanked by Genjis, Sombras, and Tracers). I was honestly surprised by how well we were doing, I'm not wondering if some of the players I was with were high levels playing on a different profile (some of them were too good to have just picked up the game). All in all I had a great time. Wished the game was like this when it launched as I might of actually bought it once I got a job (still might but that lack of free time is what will kill me. Well that and short on funds since the computer purchase (which I still haven't gotten, that's for a rant on another day)).

No wonder Lucio felt like a god last night. I didn't know they buffed his gun damage. I got a 15 player killer streak with him and was wondering if it was a fluke (honestly didn't feel like I should of done that well). I was murdering fools left and right (and I went one on one with a Junkrat in a small room and won, I'm going to blame it on lack of skill because he should of killed me multiple times). Funny you should say that about Orisa because I was eating Reinhardt's for lunch last night. Did he get nerfed because he seems to be a lot more squishy then I remember him being (I was chewing through him with Lucio and actually killed one three times with melee attacks (that had more to do with his skill then him being weak))? Like I said I never played Orisa but the teammate who was playing as her must of knew how to play her well because they did amazing, only dying once because I was brought down by a Reaper flank. I forgot to mention that the Play of the Game I got with Lucio shutdown a Hanzo and a McCree before they got off their supers (was hilarious to hear Hanzo start his chant to all of a sudden hearing him die), thought that was worth mentioning since I've never did that before.

Meh, I've heard that about comp. I've also heard it's become a cesspool as well, much like LoL/DOTA/Smite when it comes to party chat. It's probably a good thing no one talks on PS4 (previous comment was made based on the Xbox Community). Honestly I'd probably just end up doing what you do but that's mostly due to lack of free time. I'm used to people not talking in competitive games, R6S rarely has anyone talk during a match. While frustrating it doesn't bother me since I always play objectively to begin with so as long as I'm pulling my weight I don't care how the match ends (though I will admit to fits of rage in R6S when people don't play correctly or fucking ignore me when I'm calling out enemy locations or for help).

    2. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

Yeah Lucio's gun was buffed in damage and the speed of the orbs was increased by 30%. Rein hasn't been nerfed... Lucio is just that good on offense now. Thats why I hate playing Mercy unless I'm with friends. No one protects you, but they expect heals in the middle of a clusterfuck... something only Lucio/Ana and to a lesser extent Zen can do. Thats also why I don't like playing Rein... once again no one protects you... because no one stays behind your shield. -_-; Reapers and Tracers just slaughter me, or make me turn around only to get Hanzo'ed. :x But yeah, Lucio can just get around those shielded characters and pressure hard.... if you're Rein or Orisa and you try to come in without waiting on your team, I'm going to kill you. I've gotten as high as 25 kills and earned gold medals across the board with him.

I love playing Zen too, but I rarely get to do it because people will switch off Mercy or Lucio thinking you're a primary healer. -_-; Zen is a long stronger than the last time you played him too. He recovered from his L2 super fast now, and his L2 can crossmap snipe. Ana and Roadhog are the only ones that really have had hard nerfs since last free weekend. Genji, Torb, Junkrat, Winston, Mercy, Lucio, and Reaper were all buffed in certain ways since last time. Reaper auto reloads out of wrath form now, its really nice.

    3. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

      A lot*

D.Va was nerfed too, but I think her buff and nerf took place between the last free weekend, so she probably just feels the same to anyone that's only played in those times.

  17. Oh Mission to Mars was by far the superior movie but I still liked Red Planet, had it's own charms. Supernova was a horrible movie.
  18. Hey Super Mario Brothers is a god damn classic, best movie ever (heavy sarcasm implied even though I actually like the movie). I actually liked Red Planet, don't really understand why people hate it so much (sure it's not a great movie but I thought it was entertaining).
  19. Out of all the major franchise games the Ace Combat series has always launched extremely polished, this is the first time one has ever been delayed though. Meh, I've been waiting for years since 6 was released so I can wait a little longer for this. I'm not expecting anything from E3 this year. With more and more publishers pulling out of it in favor of their own conferences E3 has pretty much turned into a joke where the lackluster stay because they have no where else to go. Honestly about the only major things you're going to see is whatever 343 has in store (not a new Halo but something else), D2 coverage, CoD WWII coverage, and maybe a few surprises/last minute reveals.
  20. Ah, didn't know Fusion Rifles were going to heavy as well (I haven't really been watching much related to D2 outside of the reveal trailer and those videos you posted). By what I saw in a video SMG's and Side Arms will be elemental damage (at least towards end game, the SMG from the Warlock videos I've watched is Solar (it's also an Exotic)). I guess it won't make it overly bad but I'll still miss the shotgun meta, I was fucking amazing with Invective back in the day (my only 15+ kill streak was due to Invective before it got it's nerf before TTK). Yea, SR and Shotguns for heavy come PvE is going to seriously suck but we don't exactly know how raiding/strikes and the worlds at whole are structured yet so it might be a good change. Then again this is Bungie and their idea of balancing weapons out is to nerf good ones into oblivion and buff bad ones up every few months. I watch a lot of Arekkz's stuff and have to agree he's a damn good youtuber and damn good for information (I know I used to watch his Division videos all the time when I still played). Just wish he covered more games outside of those two and the few others he does.
  21. Well that makes me even less inclined to buy it now if they're killing the shotgun meta, I actually like how shotguns felt and performed in Crucible (no this just means Fusion Rifles will be the go to now). The Rocket/Sniper changes I like as it was frustrating as hell when you got you're head taken off from across the map or saw your ass go flying off due to a rocket barrage. Honestly I never liked how Trials felt or played and if that's the direction they're going in I've lost what interest I even had for D2 now (PvP wise, I'm still undecided on single player right now). I've been relying on Youtubers from game impressions and reviews for the last 6 years now, I rarely go to VG247 or Gamespot anymore for news. Sadly Youtubers are bought a lot easier than publications and while they might be good at the game they're playing are going to give the game a favorable review if they get paid to do one. That's the only real problem I have with using Youtubers which is why I only watch those whose opinions I actually respect (like Matimi0, Jack, Level, and Mr. Happy (for FFXIV related things, he's my go to for guides and what have you)). Shibby said it best in this video on his thoughts on the Destiny 2 reveal (and he was there which he will point out). The video starts right before his impressions. If you've never seen this show it's pretty much just a joke gaming show but occasionally they have pretty damn good insights on whats going on in the gaming industry (the show is called T.U.G.S or Totally Uniformed Gaming Show, it's from the guys who do ETC News and this is on there new channel after they switched all gaming related stuff to their new channel).
  22. Actually it makes perfect sense timeline wise (Dr. Phlox was not a human and was the only other alien on Enterprise during Enterprise besides T'Pol (yes I know he wasn't an official crew member but he did serve as the ships doctor)) considering that this series takes place 10 years before TOS (there were plenty of alien members of the Federation at that point, you need to remember back when TOS was filmed the series wasn't as fleshed out as it is now. Half of these alien species hadn't even been thought of yet). Plus who's to say that the Enterprise was the norm for star ship crews at this time, they never really cover what or who served on the other Federation ships at this time (using the movies as a basis is bad form considering they were also made before most of these species were thought of). Yea, giant Star Trek nerd here (also helps that I constantly look shit up due to playing Star Trek Online, which during Kirks time Tellarites were a very common part of many Federation crews (as were Andorians)). While I'm not completely sold it doesn't look half bad. I'd actually give it a shot if I could as the premise seems interesting (not entirely sold on the Klingons though, they look fucking retarded). Luckily for me I can't typecast this person as you guys can since I'm not a fan of TWD though the captain is a hard sell for me (I've seen her in to many Martial Arts films that I can't see her as anything else other then a martial arts practitioner).
  23. I hate to say it but it's Destiny with a face lift. The visuals are nice and I like the new hud but it's pretty much the same exact thing we were given polished up a little more with more promises they don't seem to be keeping (and as of right now do seem to plan on keeping). Again I know I'm jaded but I'm not seeing anything impressive here and it's sad considering what Bungie used to be capable of. Plus I'm not sold on the new sub-classes (while I like the look of the Hunter and Warlock super I'm not sold yet, they're expecting me to be okay with giving up 2 sub-classes I actually liked for that (I'd say three but I never got to play with the third sub-class)). While I'm interested in 4v4 Crucible (probably the only thing Bungie did right outside of IB) it's not enough to sell me on this game. I'm hoping in the coming months they'll show more to prove that this game is worth coming back for to all of us jaded with the first title (and worth my $60). Sadly I just don't think this Bungie is capable of delivering us what we want (I mostly blame Activision for this but it seems all the good talent at Bungie left for 343 Studios to continue Halo and what was left ran after the original Destiny idea was scrapped). As it stands I could care less if this game is good because lets face it, there's going to be an influx of similar games coming up soon (if the rumors of BioWare's new IP are to be believed).
  24. Well I just ordered myself a new Gaming Computer today. Don't know if its a good thing or not yet considering how much money I just dropped ($2100) but with my laptop having GPU issues I figured it was time to bite the bullet. Went through CyberpowerPC as everything I hear about them and their PC's are great (a streamer I follow uses them as well) and I don't have the time to build my own at the moment (god damn 50+ hour work weeks).

Here's to hoping the thing is worth the money (should be, I picked a mid-specced pre-built and changed a few things around (GPU (changed from a stock GTX 1070 to an EVGA GTX 1070), Cooling, OS Drive (changed to a 500 Gig SSD), and Storage Drive (added a 2 TB HDD) were the only real things I changed. And yes I researched everything before I chose them).

It'll have LED lights, whether I use them or not will be another thing (I'm not into the lighted case thing, my Alienware lights up but it's just a gimmick). The monitor I chose is an older ASUS model, https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236174&cm_re=VS247H-P-_-24-236-174-_-Product

It's gotten pretty favorable reviews and I went pretty cheap (it was on sale through CyberPower) since the tower ended up being a little more expensive then I wanted it to be (not much more but god damn SSD's are still expensive as hell). I plan on going with a two monitor set-up when I get a bigger desk (current desk is only big enough for the tower and monitor sadly) so I'll be shelling out quite a bit more money when I get my second one (this one will end up being the secondary monitor and making the new one my primary monitor).

Sadly I have to call them on Monday because it seems there was a problem processing the order (not sure what but I'm gathering its a verification for fraud prevention). Hopefully it won't delay it by too much, I need this thing before the 20th of June for Stormblood (yea, my life is pretty much run by work and FFXIV).

Its good that it's VESA mountable since you're planning on a 2 monitor setup (vesa mounting capability does make them more expensive from what I've seen). I have 2 monitors right now, one for gaming and the other for work and neither can mount so I'm literally shuffling one monitor in front of the other depending on what I'm doing. Its a bit annoying but I'm used to it. Both monitors can sit side by side too if I wanted since my desk is big enough for it. For your main monitor I recommend getting an IPS one. Huge difference for gaming IMO. I won't go back to a regular monitor again now that I've gotten used to gaming on one. SSDs should definitely be cheaper by now. I'd love to upgrade my main pc with one but I'm a bit tight on funds now.

If you have any questions on using geforce experience software let me know. I've gotten the hang of it over the last year with taking videos and enhanced screenshots with it. With your new setup you can easily take video of all your games and upload them to youtube like I've been doing with Guild Wars 2:

I setup my geforce software to be just like my PS4, I hit alt-f10 and it'll save the last 15 minutes of any game I'm playing. And windows live movie maker software works just like ps4's Sharefactory.

  25. I gave it a try on Saturday and the game is rather fun. You're looking at 20 minute matches when playing against others Sledge (in the normal mode, haven't tried it but friends of mine who play it say that's how long a normal match lasts), Brawl is roughly 10 minute matches (which is what I played, it's fucking fun as hell). If I had to assume I would guess, depending on how hard you set the A.I., you'd be looking at 10-20 minute matches (and whether you do it alone or with others). The thing about HotS is that everything is completely balanced unlike in other MOBA's. There are no weapons/trinkets/armor to buy (making it so there are no builds you need to go for) and everyone levels at the same time as long as NPC's/Heroes are being killed. Each character has talents that you choose from every few levels to help distinguish your build (kind of like how Battleborn was setup) from other Heroes. Honestly, as much as I love the original DOTA and Smite, this game is extremely fun, easy to get into, and extremely forgiving (I ignore party chat for the most part but from what I saw it's a lot tamer then Smite chat (which is downright toxic)). I'm suggest giving it a shot but then again MOBA's aren't for everyone (and for me the game is so much more fun then slogging through Quickmatch Overwatch, I still want to buy the game but I just don't want to slog through Quickmatch to get to 25 so I can play comp).
