  1. "Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich did what conservatives have been waiting for someone to do since Sarah Palin was announced as John McCain's running mate: take on someone in the media claiming that she lacks the qualifications to be vice president.

Such marvelously occurred Tuesday evening on the convention floor in St. Paul when MSNBC's Ron Allen said to the former Speaker, "But to be fair, her resume is not something we're familiar seeing with presidential candidates."

This didn't sit well with Gingrich who strongly replied:

It's stronger than Barack Obama's. I don't know why you guys walk around saying this baloney. She has a stronger resume than Obama. She's been a real mayor, he hasn't. She has been a real governor, he hasn't. She's been in charge of the Alaskan National Guard, he hasn't. She was a whistleblower who defeated an incumbent mayor. He has never once shown that kind of courage. She's a whistleblower who turned in the chairman of her own party and got him fined $12,000. I've never seen Obama do one thing like that. She took on the incumbent governor of her own party and beat him, and then she beat a former Democratic governor in the general election. I don't know of a single thing Obama's done except talk and write.

    Newt then challenged Allen:

I'd like you to tell me one thing Sen. Obama's done.

With that, Allen retreated, and said:

Thanks very much, Mr. Speaker. I'm going to leave it there. I'm not going to argue the case. Thanks very much.

Hmmm. Imagine that. I guess folks like Allen are only willing to argue the case when there's nobody playing the part of the defense attorney.

    How convenient."

  2. Since everyone seems to trash the Republicans

I want to share this email that a family member sent to me!

    Enjoy!!!

    Subject: Revelations Chapter 13

This will make you re-think: A Trivia question in Sunday School:

How long is the beast allowed to have authority in Revelations?

Revelations Chapter 13 tells us it is 42 months, and you know what that is.

    Almost a four-year term of a Presidency.

All I can say is 'Lord, Have mercy on us!'

According to The Book of Revelations the anti-Christ is: The anti-Christ

    will

be a man, in his 40's, of MUSLIM descent, who will deceive the nations with

persuasive language, and have a MASSIVE Christ-like appeal....the prophecy

    says

that people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world

    peace,

and when he is in power, will destroy everything..

    Do we recognize this description??

  3. If you keep up with why Evolution has become the only answer it's because they found sets of bones that dated back from different periods of time with each set looking more human & less ape as they went on to younger sets of bones.

But then you also have to think about what time means to God. One million years in our time could be just one minute to the creator. Like all good artists he re-does his work many times to get it perfect. Think of it as an evolution of the ultimate artist. Once again, this will be an on going debate through time because no one knows how the World was created. So there is no one answer, religion has as many answers as science and no one is right and no one is wrong. And unless you know someone who is 4.6 billion years old there will never be one right answer.

And by the way, I believe strongly in God and science. Both create mistakes and both create paradises...

  4. The following are just my views:

I agree with a few things she said. Teaching creationism and evolutionism should be done. It is a great debate.

Just remember how people used to believe that the sun revolved around the Earth for hundreds of years (since the time of Aristotle). Then Galileo suggested that the Earth actually does the revolving. He was imprisoned under house arrest for the rest of his life, but he was right. Though it was not scientifically proven for a long time.

I'm not saying the creationism is right or evolution. No one knows, that is why it is a great debate for schools.

As to giving teenagers information in sex, many schools take it too far. They give kids condoms and birth control pills. They should give information on sex and all the consequences that go along with it. They should not think that kids are going to have sex so lets just give them protection.

I agree partially with her ideas on abortion. I am pro-life, always will be and no one can change my mind on that. Life begins at conception! The woman had the choice to have sex (most of the time unprotected). That is her choice!!!! She does not have the right to kill an innocent child no matter how old it is!

The only time I will ever agree with abortion is if a person is raped or the life of the mother is in danger with childbirth. Otherwise, have the child and then give it up for adoption. There are numerous people who want a child who for many reasons can not have their own. They will willingly pay for all the medical bills to have the unwanted child. (My aunt and uncle have done this twice). Give the poor unborn child a chance at life.

It is because of this debate that I will not vote for Obama for anything.

Once again these are my views and ideals. Anyone can say what they want but my views will not change!:P

  5. There is an episode on the History Channel on Saturday August 23 at 7pm.

It is all about oil and why we need so much of it. Cars have little to do with it. I never realized we used oil in so many items.

Here is what the episode is about:

Rubber, Plastic, Nylon, Aerosols, Resins, Solvents, and Lubricants--none can exist without oil. If we stopped driving our cars tomorrow, America would still need five million barrels of oil a day. Visit Vulcan Materials, where oil tanks are emptied into massive double-barrel mixers to make asphalt and then continue to the Rolls Royce Aerospace Facility where complex jet fuels are blended. Travel back to the 1870's to see how an unemployed whale oil salesman turned a greasy oil-drilling by-product into a household staple: Vaseline. Finally discover how cutting-edge recycling techniques can breathe new life into used motor oil, and where a number of renewable fuels and technologies take aim at oil sovereignty.

    Rating: TVPG

    Running Time: 60 minutes

    Genre:Science & Technology

Just thought people might be interested. Enjoy!

  6. Bad film when the pictures were taken for the middle movie. Poor quality of camera and film, and the glowing eyes if just bad flash (red-eye as an example). The first movie with the blue blob was weird. The blue thing looked to be the same size the entire time so could easily be a something attached to the camera lens that flitted by with the wind, like an out of focus piece of blue plastic. Now the last movie... it had to have been doctored or I had better go change my underwear right now. Though it does remind me of commercials I have recently seen for a movie called 'Mirrors'. Or it could have been twins pretending that there was mirror. Would have to rewatch that part and see how in sync they were.

These are just my wild guesses. Yes, I believe in ghosts but some of those were so obviously not real.

  7. Wonders of nature that could eat a semi-truck.

I saw an episode on the discovery channel where a scientist went back in time to see (and swim with) the ten top predators of the ancient oceans. The megalodon was number three I think. These creatures were huge and it boggles the mind to think that these creatures used to live in the oceans and could still live in the deepest trenches of the world. If these types of creatures still lived then I would never go near the ocean again. :)

  8. I has something like that, and I had a dentist appointment the next day. The dentist said I must have either slept on it weird or gnashed my teeth while asleep. There was nothing they could do for it. Their advice was to just take some advil every couple of hours and wait it out. Unfortunately it took me 2 1/2 weeks. Hope things work out quicker for you.

  9. I recently finished an exercise class that met twice a week for an hour and the instructor expected us to work out on our own 2-3 other days in the week. The hour long class consisted of running, biking, weight training, ab work, and a few other things. Not that we did all of that in one class. She taught us a lot of exercises that we can do at home at little cost to us. And young kids make great weights!!!

Since the class ended I have tried to keep up with a hour a day for three days a week, though unfortunately my one hour and take two hours since I have to keep stopping to yell at the kids.

  10. The Bible only has the stories that make Jesus sound like a god. The creators (not writers, the ones who decided which stories would go in the Bible) only wanted the people to learn about the holy side and not the human side of Jesus. Why else would the stories written by Judas, Mary Magdalene and Jesus (and countless other) not be included in the Bible. Many people who read the Bible believe everything that is written in it and don't question any other possibilities. I feel sorry for them. But everyone has a right to interpret the writings how they want to...

  11. You scored as a Lara Croft A thrill-seeking, slightly unscrupulous, tough-as-nails archaeologist, Lara Croft travels the world in search of ancient relics perhaps better left hidden. She packs two Colt .45s and has no fear of jumping off buildings, exploring creepy tombs, or taking on evil meglomaniacs bent on world domination.
