    Wise Women

I was recently asked to write a short poem with a simple writing scheme about wise women for a croning ceremony. I used the following website as a learning tool and for my inspiration. http://www.croning.org/pages/534083/index.htm I recommend reading the poem first and then read the meanings in the spoilers afterwards. I have received praise for the poem from all the wise women in my life and thought I should share it with my friends here as well. The moon has waxed its final reign, Settle down through its eternal wane. Spirits radiant in sky stars bright, Peel away clouds for maiden's sight. Seal away dreaded seasons fall and winter, Release anew fountains spring and summer. Second verse Stray not from the derelict flock lost Lead the herd to meadows long sought. Welcome in each to nest of safe haven, Feed the precious apple souls do raven. Song and verse tell lessons learned, Weave a story experience hard earned. Scattered seeds sown in memory's deep cage, Blossom fruits to nourish aspiring attache.
  2. No offense, but it doesn't sound like anyone is an angel in this situation except your daughter Caitlin. I would advise keeping all discussion cordial and over the phone. Pickups and drop offs should be exactly that with minimal conversation of need-to-knows. If the girlfriend is threatening you with bodily harm with past experience, record the conversations. If the boyfriend and girlfriend are not giving them enough attention and that may be the cause, mention that Caitlin may need more attention and possibly included in more activities. You'll probably catch slack for the mention, so be prepared to counter with a compromise of not spoiling Caitlin as much. Make sure you bite your tongue back from any quips and keep the conversation cordial and businesslike, especially while you are recording the phone messages. You probably do spoil Caitlin, but it sounds healthy to me. Take the girlfriend's advice to heart or at least examine your relationship from her point of view. She maybe exaggerating the situation and attempting to shift the blame for her own inadequacies. Taking care of three children at once isn't peaches and creams. I have two and I lose my patience and whits often. The more I think about it, she maybe stressed out from having to take care of four children, boyfriend included, and you're the only one in her mind she can legitimately take it out on. It doesn't sound like the boyfriend cares too much leading me to suggest that you file a claim for sole custody with visitation rights only. The biggest problem in responding to requests like this is that we only hear your side of the story. We are a biased jury who will only hear your point of view ever. I'm not saying your wrong or that his story could change my immediate opinion. I'd suggest that you take a step back and reexamine the situation from a neutral position, perhaps writing a list of pros, cons, concerns, complaints, and compliments on both sides. I know you're a good roleplayer and can think outside the box, so give this exercise a try. You may find that you're being too harsh on them or reinforce your position even further. Good luck and God bless!

    Typical morning

Kyle and Alana jumped constantly from one end to another. Eventually, one of the metal hooks holding the springs broke in half like a twig. Not for lack of trying.

    Typical morning

Typical morning Kyle comes into our room and gets his and Alana's milk out of our fridge. He gives her the bottle while he pushes the crib up to the changing table. Alana climbs up to it as Kyle pushes the rocking chair to the changing table. Alana climbs down to the rocking chair and then to the floor. Both show up in our room slurping their milk and saying hi. They then go downstairs as we slowly drag ourselves out of bed asking each other to check on the kids. Kyle makes steps with his toy buckets against the entertainment center tossing the toys all over the floor. Why do we even bother picking up toys when all I want to do is throw most of them away? He grabs the Incredibles DVD, his favorite at the moment, and places it into the DVD player. He starts up the TV, changing the channel to AV appropriately (channel down once) and pushes play. If they don't have enough milk, Kyle grabs the milk out of the fridge, two straws, and both slurp away straight from the jug. We scramble downstairs in time for "we demand food now" time as daddy is rushed out the door. Ah, the joys of parenthood. New news Kyle broke his sister's crib today. One of the hooks snapped, so the mattress is on the floor and pillows block the openings. It'll have to do until we can replace the hook or get a toddler bed.
  9. Yeah, its comments like these that have turned me off from replying to these posts. I don't like personal attacks. I respect your point of view, I'm sorry you don't respect mine or me. I'm done here.
  10. I have moved my comment to a spoiler tag. Read it if you want. Based on another thread of how little my opinions are viewed I shall refrain from reading or posting to this category from here on out.
  11. I believe in creationism. I have no problem with a scientist believing in creationism. What sparked the life into that very first single-cell amoeba that would later evolve into humans? I say God did and it was his plan from the very beginning. My opinion anyways. If the biologist was vehemently preaching his beliefs in creationism without offering the possibility of evolution, then I'd say he wasn't open minded to new ideas and the institute could question his effectiveness as a scientist. I'd say the same thing if the opposite was true. The world believed the sun rotated around the Earth for a long time, because that is what they saw happening. It took a long time before another idea could even be accepted without persecution from religion of all places. I believe the same persecution is happening again in reverse, with science persecuting any idea, religious or other, that doesn't fit into its well-defined little box. That box changes shape each day as we learn more and isn't as well-defined as science would like to think. My opinion only.
  12. All countries must be equal in any treaty or the other parties will become a worst problem than the current leaders in pollution. 1997 would have been during the Clinton administration, so both political parties have rejected this protocol now. Heavy fines on countries that violate the targets. In my opinion, we'd not only have to pay more for alternate sources of energy, taxes would rise to pay for the fines we'd undoubtedly accrue. I'm pretty sure we wouldn't meet the current conditions in the Kyoto Protocol no matter how much money and effort we'd throw at the issue. In my opinion, even though the US is one of the largest polluters, we as a nation are doing more to clean it up through technological discoveries, renewable energies, and other environmental projects. A treaty meant in good faith but only forces the US taxpayers to pay a fine in the end that could have been spent to help the environmental endeavor is no solution at all.
  13. Go Speed Racer Go! Gotta love monkeys. Looks like it might be interesting to rent.

  15. Another fine example of a video game to movie debacle. If you thought the movie was bad, you should have seen the cartoon series. That didn't last long at all.
  16. Come on Sledgstone, another two feet won't kill you.
  17. Don't forget the long anticipating Starcraft sequel is about to release!
  18. I always liked the Wing Commander series. Of course its space flying and doesn't follow physics a lot, but what can you say.

  21. I believe in disciplining children, but I'm talking about a slapped hand for taking a toy away from the sibling, smacked touchee for doing something inappropriate, or a tap on the cheeks if they said something bad. What this couple is accused of doing is far beyond the definition of discipline or even a beating; there is no fine line here.
