  1. I know there have been "How would you survive" threads before, and this is somewhat in that vein. I'm working on a story right now, but I want some outside eyes. Most of us have watched our fair share of horror movies, and yell at the characters therein for stupid mistakes...and that is exactly what I want. If you found yourself trapped in the horror/suspense/thriller movie- no matter what series, just the idea o the movie- and had access to the period (if an older or more futuristic) technology, how would you handle it? Would you be elaborate about it? Simple and straightforward? Would you rally your troops or let them fend for themselves?
All I really ask is that you give the movie/genre/series you are in and your plan from there. Thanks in advance to all who contribute! :)

  2. The way I would expect it to go, with how AoD finished out in the S-Mart ("Shop smart; Shop S-Mart!") I see it being a combination of the darker look of Evil Dead 3, but with a bit more of the campy goofiness of AoD...that way they could tie in the Mia/Ash stories. Have her get to the town, headed to the hospital and kill a deadite or two, only to run into Ash. He fixes her with a prosthetic hand to match his and off the movie goes. Or have Ash head-off a deadite army and end with him semi retired until he 'feels' the book get read again...hence his "Groovy." at the end of the new Evil Dead film...
But that's just my opinion. :)

  3. @Sledg: Hey, did you stay till after the credits? There is a bit of a hint to what is actually going on...

it isn't a remake-- IT IS THE ACTUAL FOURTH MOVIE! At the end of the credits, they show a shadowed face that quotes Bruce by saying, "Groovy." The he snaps to full view and it's Bruce himself! In an interview about two maybe three months ago, Bruce Campbell hinted (rather bluntly) that he had signed on for an AoD2 and an additional film where they will be merging Ash and Mia's storylines!

At the SXSW premiere event, Alvarez announced that a sequel is in the works. In addition, Sam Raimi confirmed plans to write Evil Dead 4 with his brother; it was later specified that this film would be Army of Darkness 2. At a WonderCon panel in March 2013, Campbell and Alvarez stated that their ultimate plan was for Alvarez's Evil Dead 2 and Raimi's Army of Darkness 2 to be followed by a seventh film which would merge the narratives of Ash and Mia.

  4. I need to buy a shotgun.

Thinking more about my own zombie apocalypse plan:

    1) Quickly get to Lady's parent's house. Her dad has quite a few guns and ammo.

    2) Once we get them and some gear, we should probably make our way up north to Fort Drum.

    3) Winter will be a b*tch up there, but if the military is surviving, it'll be there. We'll have a chance to hold back the zombie hordes.

    4) If Ft. Drum is over run, we'll loot the ammo and whatever military gear is left and head for the Adirondacks.

I'm not much of a wilderness survival guy, but I have a feeling we'd be able to survive off the land there.. and with the population so much smaller than a major city, we should have to deal with less walkers. The winters should also ravage those zombie bastards into immovable freezer burned corpses. ;)

Here is the sad truth as I see it: with our military being what it is right now, I can't see the average base lasting much more than a few months into a TWD Apocolypse. Too many of the Officers and upper Enlisted would be too worried about the R.O.E. (Rules Of Engagement) to actually plan accordingly for a full blown crisis. Add in the fact of most political faces would be too worried about their own safety, and suicide runs to save families or careers would cripple the military force. Another massive problem is the "red Crisis" codes...a number of average to mid sized ammo supply buildings go into a specific lock and freeze status, limiting outgoing munitions, and at a certian level of criticality, ie: being over run, those buildings are "hystaria cleared", which means the munitions are detonated.

Honestly, you would do better to hit hunting supply stores for your munitions needs, or police stations.

  5. @DX: I did research on that photo, and am amused and chagrined to find that you are correct...after talking with the boss, he says he uses that one as an example, because most of the shadow people pics he DOES have are from his professional photo work, and he can't release them. You and Sledge are right about how they observe, though...almost annoying at times.

@CG: I'm amazed you haven't caught anything on film...if you have seen them or anything like it before, you'd think you would have caught something on film, even by accident by now. Eh, just take a few random pics now and then, and watch, you'll catch something.

  6. Fantastic show! I 'm behind on the newer stuff, since I've been working nights...:corner: but from seasons 4-6 things get awesome! GG, you are going to love the incoming angel Castiel, he is beyond awesome. And the Bobby-centric episode in season 5 or 6 is great! "Balls..." every time something goes wrong!XD.gif' alt=':XD:'>

  7. Nice to see you Sabe!

Cool pics. Those first couple you posted look intriguing. That last pic with the hand reaching from the tv looks almost too realistic... like if someone actually caught a pic of Sasquatch people would say its a guy in a suit because a solid pic has never been done before. But yeah, if thats a real ghost hand you saw, then damn, thats creepy. O_O

Thanks! Its always good to get a bit of AC time in now and again!

I agree, with the can be hard to swallow. We had throngs of people hitting our FB page when it was posted, telling us how fake it was and easy it was to make, yadda yadda yadda. We finally submitted it to four out of state law firms to verify its authenticity, and all four sent us back folders of information on what they did to check it...not a one came back with any doubts to its authenticity.

It was also the case where we got some of our best EVP's. I was going to post them, but the forum said the files were to big (each one runs close to 500Mb each). The best one is of a female voice answering our questions.

Nick had asked if there was anyone in the house who would like to speak to us, a fairly generic starter question, and it replied, "I can't. He won't let me." After that, you can hear running and a door slam on the audio upstairs...while we were all down stairs in the kitchen.

We've had a lot of skeptics pass through the group, usually friends of other team members who volenteer to help if we are short handed, and they have gone away either full believers, or at least having the bedrock under thier feet shaken pretty good.

  8. I am reviving this thread as a point of pride, for those curious. I joined a Paranormal Investigations group here in Nebraska, and have seen a LOT of these types of videos. How many in a lot, you ask? On average, up to 300 a month, give or take. I came back to this to give a bit more insight, as well as give some ACTUAL photos a chance to shine. Since only the top two videos are still working, I’ll give a breakdown of those.

Video 1: After a long look, I have to agree with Kelene, and DX7; either a piece of plastic on fishing line, or a sloppy video edit…however I have to lean more to the latter, as it would account for the pauses the blob makes while the video is still running.

Video 2: This one took a few watches, but of the 70 or so pictures and four videos, only about 10 (if that) of the pictures are even possibly authentic, but none of the video. Of the pics, there are three, especially the tree, that are an effect referred to as ‘matrixing’. Matirixing is an effect of the human eye and brain creating faces or human shapes out of light/shadow play, reflections, and grainy photography. It is shown by less experienced groups as proof, but one of our groups founding members is a professional photographer, so we are used to seeing and dismissing such photos.

Now, for all I’ve said, I must also say that catching ghosts on ANY kind of film does happen, and quite a bit more often than one would imagine. As I said before though, I want to end my rant with some ACTUAL ghosts on film…and I will wholly stand behind these photos for one reason: I WAS AT BOTH INVESTIGATIONS.

Now, we are at Ball Cemetery. The person in the photo is one of our investigators, Chris. He is asking me if I had just heard footsteps.

Another from Ball Cemetery. At the time, I was just getting some location photos of where the grounds-keeper had said he heard voices. Guess who got a lucky photo!

This is from an investigation at a home here in Lincoln, NE. The subject of the photo is what is known as a ‘Shadow Person’; while regarded as harmless, there isn’t enough collective data to say what they truly represent, and there is a number of schools of thought.

    And now, my favorite!

This one is also from a home investigation, this time in Alvo, NE. We did this investigation for one of our members, who had been hearing knocking, footsteps and voices in her house. The TV is currently OFF and UNPLUGGED, because older TV’s have the habit of generating large electromagnetic fields, and was throwing our EMF detectors into overdrive.

  9. @Lurker: and your family have got to be proud of him. I hope all goes well for him, I know how rough things can be after one deployment...3 or 4, though...he has one hell of a set of brassies to go that many times.

  10. Normally, each 'job' is handled on an individual basis; pricing would depend on the difficulty of the job, of course, and payments would be handled by PayPal. For artwork, you would get the client to give you a rough idea of what they wanted from you: background color/design; specific imagry to work with (including links to them if they want specific existing pictures used) and a general thought on size and final composition of the image. Personally, I'd give them up to three roughs to get feedback, and then finalize the rough that was closest to what they want.

I know this is an old ass post, but it caught my eye, and I thought I throw this out there...hope it helps!

  11. Afghanistan wasn't really that bad...interesting air quality, and twice as interesting locals, but all things considered...not too bad. Wish I could share some of the more interesting stories, but that isn't possible, of course.:gloomstress:

As to lurking....yeah, lurking works. :thief: Love these new smilies, by the way...

  12. ANCIENT CLAN....I HAVE RETURNED!!! :teethglint:

It's been way too long. I'm glad to see things are going well for the Forum...I was afraid I'd finally get the chance to get back here, and a move would have disabled my account, lol.

After a long time out of the game, including a year in Afghanistan, I am glad to say that I will be returning to my post as another smart-ass ready to laugh at people...:nah: Nah...I'll just hang out in the wings and hope that I can still keep up with the random insanity. Glad to say hello to old friends, and give my welcome to all the newbies that have come in my LONG absence!

  13. This is kinda funny...I drop off the map around the time this thread falls out of style, and now, as I am having the time to get here more often, the thread is saved from the maw of deletion. X'D

Glad to see everyone is doing well!

  14. There are some good vids floating all over youtube. If anyone has the time, you ought to go to the TAPS website; they have vids, photos, EVP's all sorts of stuff. IMO, they are one of the best Hunter groups out there.

  15. What's worse is the Administration is using the pretext of logging and roads to remove the protection. The primary plan is actually to get the protection lifted so oil drilling can begin there, and the same plan is also underway for certian protected areas in the Pacific and Atlantic.

  16. Or rather, the translation to Japanese, to be more precise.-_-; I have a friend who's given me an odd new nickname^_^:, and wants it in Japanese. Having no nearby friends on location to ask, here I go: Can any of the few speakers of the language who float about get me the translation of "Hunter in the Shadows"? I'd like it written as I would see it in a dictionary(ie: ten: heaven, get the idea), as well as in Kanji, if possible. No real rush, but I would appriceate it immensely!:D

  17. Nice... Has a good feel, tense fast pace. Maybe don't give the idea of the abductors being hackers, it might be more useful later... Just a thought.

Skellie chapters are useful, whether they bite you or not; the outlining they give can be useful, I've found.

Maran and the Chosen, hmm? I like the thought, especially if you go to the idea of her having traversed several of the Ephemeral Relms(with Ben's help, of course) that you had mentioned awhile back(her claw becoming a psychic extention, not just a physical weapon, due to her time in the Relms). Or just the fact of how much of a natural fighter she is anyway, her and Jade could get into some interesting conversations...
