I tried the deepfake software a few years ago to see how it worked. It's interesting because you need a crapload of source material, basically face shots of the person you want to duplicate at every angle and facial expression possible. They are scripts that you can run that will auto grab and crop the person's face out of movie scenes and interviews off youtube videos. Then in the target video you want to override the face you select the person in it, reference the folder with the thousands of face shots and set the program to go. But there's some catches... the person you swap the face with has to look very similar to begin with, bone structure, eyes, check bones, eyebrows, etc. Because the final product is more of a face merge than swap. The closer the person looks like the image the more accurate it'll look like a face swap. That Luke one looked as good as it did because the cg Luke looked pretty damn spot on. Basically Disney could do the cg de-aging they do now and then do the deep fake as a final layer and it'd be perfect. If a deepfake person tried to put lukes face on qui gon jin in episode 1 it'd most likely look like ass.
The other issue when I tried to make a deepfake was processing time. Because it's an AI script you have to let it do its thing. It takes an ass load of gpu processing power and alot of time. I have a gtx 1060 with 6gb ram at the time and that was pretty good, but even after letting the script run over night for a week 6 hours a night the deep fake I was trying still looked like crap.

my guess is deepfake has been critisized for being used on political figures and porn sites so idk maybe disney wants to keep their squeaky clean image or something lol. or maybe they have a contract with some cg programming companies that they cant get out of. but yeah its their loss for not using it bc it looks really good and has a lot of potentials, especially now that star wars want to backpeddle from disaster movie sequels and throw fans back in timeline

this is a winter themed kdrama called winter sonata. not necessarily a christmas centered one, but a thoughtful and innocent christmas gift plays a major role in the storyline. i first watched it 20 years ago and i still watch it even today. it was so popular in asia that japan made anime 10 years after it aired. it also improved korea’s image and relations among asian countries and tourism/kdrama/kpop flourished (called korean wave). its still popular, ppl still visit sites and houses that were filmed on. i heard they even built a statue where they first met. O_o basically two highschoolers fall in love and they were going to meet on christmas eve for their first official date. on his way, he dies in an traffic accident and shes devastated. the main event takes place 10 years after when she sees a guy who looks exactly like him.

$600 stimulus is a joke. im not for giving ppl free money but it wasnt even ppls fault for losing their jobs to begin with. that puny amount doesnt even cover one month’s rent in most states. just let ppl get back to work. most ppl would rather work than recieve that kind of chump change. ever since chris benoits murder-suicide back in 2007, ive been reading any news articles that related to that. it was like average from one murder-suicide news every 3 months before lockdown to one murder-suicide news every 3 DAYS after lockdown. shitload amount of unnecessary pressure put on them from eviction, unemployment, restrictions, etc., and no wonder ppl are losing it. i read recent articles about young japanese and korean women committing suicide due to covid isolation, far exceeds the deaths from covid itself..i keep asking myself, for what? oh that 99.99996% something survival rate flu. i see.[/rant]

It's just another game launcher to me. Like steam, gog, origin, battlenet, etc. It doesn't have any of the fancy profile options, forums, emojis, chat, etc that steam has. It's just a generic game launcher and they give away free games every week to try to get more users. But they're the developer of fortnite so they already have probably millions of users already since it's required to play that game on pc.
I have roughly 50 something games with them and I never even put my credit card in their system. I just log on once a week and claim the free games. Or like right now I log in once a day. I got world War z free from them earlier this year, I haven't tried it yet tho. I got gta5 from them early this year to and I have it installed but haven't played it yet.
I guess people complain because they are steam fans like Xbox and Playstation fans complain and try to maintain some loyalty? I actually add all my games to steam with the "add a non steam game to your library", then I make the shortcut the link to the game and it launches fine from steam. I'm currently playing starcraft2 on steam. I launch the steam link app from my living room on my nvidia shield, it connects to my pc, I launch starcraft 2, that link launched the battlenet launcher and then I'm playing sc2 through steam. I can do the same with games from epic games. I got Ghostbusters remastered free through epic on Halloween, installed it, added it as a non steam game and now I play it in my living room thru the steam app to. I only played it for a few mins to make sure it worked.
I'm not sure why people wouldn't want free games just because it's on a different game launcher. I know they got crap for different exclusives or timed exclusive deals but it all plays on pc so I don't get why people really care. 🤔

Oh man.. I was complaining about Yongyea not showing an accurate representation of the game because he was using a PC that the majority of players would never use to actually run the game.. Well he finally showed some PS4 footage and damn if it doesn't look like ass. I guess if you let it eventually load it looks ok, but once you start walking or driving around and the FPS drops to 15 and graphics look like PS1... damn.
 
Ouch, well I'm glad you got your order. I've never ordered gold or silver online before. I would think something like that is heavily insured by the shipper in case of lost deliveries since it'd be worth alot of money. I had to do a claim with Newegg for a copy of H&R Block. Only worth $20.  I got it on black friday, but somehow USPS sent the package to Ohio instead of NY and then the tracking said it was forwarded. It was sitting there for 5 days until I called Newegg and complained. They must have found it because the package now shipped out from Ohio. I guess I'll get it eventually.

this games definetly broke. went to my brothers house yesterday and i was watching my brother play a mini mission and like every 20 seconds combat alerts were buzzing like crazy and he was really confused wth was going on. its a simple misson going from point A to point B looking for someone lol. graphic was okay, things were moving smoothly, but the big city is EMPTY..hardly any ppl around and cars rarely moving. and upgrade will be what like later next year so damn they really screwed up with this one

i thought it was my bad aiming at first bc i suck at FPS games playing with a console controller but when i shot at a flying police bot at point blank range, i still missed, while it has some kinda seeker bullets that follow me and hits me no matter where i hide. and since there was no one to really fight, i shot at some civilians. some die “correctly” but not everyone. i put 8 bullets in a chest and 2 bullets in a head of this person and still manage to runs away from me lol
 

my checking account gives me 2 options to avoid a fee each month. one is to have a certain amount of daily balance in it or make a direct deposit of $500. one time i did a transfer from my emergency account to my current checking account bc i needed some funds to pay and it counted as a direct deposit. i could just transfer back and forth every month without paying a fee that way too lol. but this is a really old account, opened it when i was like 18. and with bad rep its getting from news in recent years, ill just use it as a backup account when i get a new one later.
thats really sad that ppl are losing their livelihood. if availability of vaccine somehow eases things down, thatll be great and we'll hopefully get back to normal, but i have a feeling this vaccine will cause more havoc than covid because its being rushed and pretend its suppose to work. most ppl i know says let others take it first and see what happens to them..i mean thats not a confident thing to say when someone says they found a cure for something that public desperately needs. i watched an old documentary long ass time ago about a morning sickness pill for pregnant women back in 60s. it took 2 years for them to alert that those who took the pills have babies born without limbs (affected 46 countries, w/ tens of thousands children born with deformities). who knows what long term effect this vaccine will have it on ppl in such a way or worse, scary thought.

So after only playing an hour today I decided I'm going to put he game on hold until CDPR gets those patches out they talked about in their statement on twitter the other day (the one in Jan and Feb). I didn't run into anything game breaking but the game really does not feel good at all game play wise and it skipped an entire section of a mission by completely freezing then skipping ahead causing some minor NPC issues (if you watched the gameplay trailer they did last year where they were having that car chase with the van that's what I'm talking about, right after finishing rescuing the lady from the trailer that sequence takes place and my game just completely skipped it and loaded to right before the end of the mission). I didn't want to tempt going any further for fear of it doing something like that again or just completely screwing itself over by freezing completely/corrupting my save/frying my PS4. As for the game play issues I doubt they'll be fixed (it's a fundamental problem with the combat system, gun play is clunky at best and not satisfying at all. Guns are extremely inaccurate (even pistols) and it's extremely obvious CDPR had no experience with shooting mechanics) but with the stuttering problems they're just multiplied exponentially making fights hard to navigate.
This is extremely frustrating as I was looking forward to this game so god damn much. What's even more frustrating is that if these upcoming patches don't put the game in a playable state I'm literally out $250 and sitting on a brick until I can get my hands on a PS5 (only redeemable aspect of this is I get an upgrade to the digital PS5 version when it comes out) which won't be financially viable for quite awhile. CPDR really screwed the pooch on this one. I guess no company is free from corporate greed at this point in the gaming industry (I feel extremely bad for the dev team having to put up with all this shit talk about their game because of the actions of upper management, they really don't deserve it. There's a good game in there somewhere it's just buried under a ton of shit).

Granted this is only with an hour of gameplay currently (it took roughly an hour to install and two hours to dl and install the day0/1/and 1.04 patches) but I've only run into 1 graphical bug so far (a car not fully loading in a cutscene). I've also noticed some stuttering here and there in the beginning area (I've only done the prologue, it took roughly 20 minutes to design my character so I got maybe 40 minutes of actual game play in) but I don't know if that's due to first time loading of the area or actual optimization issues. This is with a year one base PS4 so I don't know if my luck has anything to do with the 1.04 patch or not. I will note my poor PS4 does sound like it wants to kill itself while running the game (the fans were going full blast for most of the time I was playing).
I'll post more of my initial impressions once I get more game time in tomorrow and actually start doing missions and fighting (all I've done is the combat tutorial so I haven't done any real combat yet), you know actual game play stuff. Hopefully I'll get lucky and not run into all those graphical issues (I'm fully expecting this game to crash multiple times while I'm playing it) because even on the base PS4 this game is beautiful (I will note that I did use some graphical settings someone posted on twitter to help the game run a lot more smoothly so that might also be helping keep the graphical issues at bay).

Mando can be as amazing as it wants to be (it helps when the guy behind it and the animated shows basically trained under and knew where Lucas was going to take the series) but that just won't save what Disney is doing to the franchise as a whole for me. It's hard when your fandom wasn't cemented by movie lore but by extended lore (I fell in love with SW from the books and video games, not the movies (though they did play a big role in what drew me in). As I said in another topic awhile ago my best friend is the one that really drew me into SW due to his immense fandom) and to have everything I loved about Star Wars tossed into the shredder because Disney didn't want to deal with having to place new stories into existing lore just killed it for me. I really tried to accept what Disney was doing but I just can't see past how horribly they handled the sequel trilogy and I just can't forgive the dumping of years of extended lore for this.
I do want to watch Mando and eventually I will (only because of the stellar reviews it's getting) but that's it for me. I had no interest in Clone Wars or Rebels (I do know what happens and all the events that take place in said shows) and my only real draw to Mando is my obsession with Mandalorians as a people/culture (Boba Fett has always been my favorite SW character, not entirely sure I like how they're treating him in Mando though (yes, I do know whats going on). I prefer his original backstory and his continuation past the movies).

I have an account at one bank that has an ATM that looks like its at least 50 years old.  The atm is so outdated it can't even accept money or check deposits. I mostly use M & T banks and their atms are top notch. Money and check deposits right there at the atm and it'll print a receipt with a low quality image of the check with deposit amount for your own records after the deposit. Most of the larger size M&T banks have a drive thru lane dedicated to only the atm and an additional atm inside the building that is locked at night. I have to insert and remove my debit card at the door to get access like a key card, that room is huge, glass windows everywhere and fully lit up with security cameras everywhere. Then the main lobby to the bank is completely locked from inside that atm lobby and you can only get in the bank itself during normal hours. The smaller branch of the M&T only has a drive up atm but its in the same lane as a regular window so if you go to it during normal hours you might have to wait a bit if they are busy.

Thats what alot of the reviews where saying. The plot line and writing is all great, but the gameplay and graphics on the regular ps4 is sounding like it'd be hard to play.
