I heard an article on NPR about this group in the UK that likes to go around and land scape crappy looking public property. It was funny because they acknowledged that what they were doing was techinically illegal, but they've never been arrested for it. Probably because everyone likes plants... what I found even more interesting was when the guy talked about Seed Bombs. I've never heard of a seed bomb before.. So I found out that seed bombs are small pieces of packed soil with seeds ment to be thrown at an area to promote plant growth. interesting... heres a link of some:

has anyone heard of seed bombs? have you ever made or thrown one?

I'm pretty tempted too.. theres some crappy looking pieces of land I drive by around work that could use some sprucing up.

I've been getting fed up with our electricity bill (according the NYSEG we used $250 worth of electricity in the month of february, wtf.). I called them to try to lower our rates or something, and they said I was SOL and sent me a pamphlet with energy saving tips. So, a couple months ago we bought 16 CFL light bulbs to replace every lightbulb in the house, lowered the temperature of our water heater, set energy saving and hybernation modes on the computers, replaced the furnace's filter more often and kept the thermostat down a few extra degrees. The result was that we only used $58 of electricity the following month! The next month we've been using the computers more often (leaving them on for torrents, etc.) and our next bill came and said that we used $150 of electricity. That didn't sound right, so I looked at the bill again and it turned out that they will only do meter readings in 3 month intervals. So I'll have to wait a couple months to find out the rest of our energy savings..

We're on a budget billing, so when we get the bill, it tells us how much we used and how much we get charged for. We get charged $126 a month regardless of what we use based off our prior year's total household energy use for the year. Basically so we don't have to pay up and down prices, etc. But get this, on the third page it said that our budget billing monthy charge is going to be readjusted because our current usage does not meet up to their projected usage. We're saving money!

Anyone else know of any energy saving tips?

I wonder if green peace was trying to block them from leaving harbor. Seeing as this happened in january and I didn't see any follow up articles about prosecution, it doesn't look like anyone was charged with anything?

global warming killed the mammoths. very interesting. i wonder how many years or decades (centuries?) it took to kill off the woolly mammoths tho. to think that they couldn't adapt to their changing food supply and were starved out of existance.. i remember hearing about how some plant life can overgrow and destroy entire crops in a season or two. those grasses must have had a drastic takeover effect on the landscape.

you're graphics card is probably fried because it's fan busted. the noise and the crappy background could all be related? the lil square is pixilation. regardless if your graphics card is making the noise or not, it still sounds fried tho.

try getting a can of condensed air and spraying the hell out of your computer to unclog your comp's fans too, it could help. just don't spray that can upside down.

I just don't trust email services and their content scanning for advertising revenue. It makes me feel like I'm a case study and they're profiling me to sell ads and make money. and they try to cover their asses by saying, "its legal as long as we don't sell your info to a third party," yeah, fortunately for google, they recently bought a massive variety of third parties. its all google now and they're using us via free services.

The main problem i have with the free email services is that they scan your email for advertising info and revenue. The more stuff you have saved, the more they know about you and the more money they make.

I wish there was more talent in english VAs.. either that or the majority of dubbing companies need to fire their casting directors.

the price for that escaflowne set is actually cheap compared to traditional boxsets. i remember fushigi yugi season 1 and 2 costed $200 a piece. x_x; and all the inuyasha dvds are rediculous. $25 a disk = 3 episodes. 167 episodes = 55 disks = $1,375.00 = fuck that.

years ago when I was a kid, I was playing in my aunt's backyard (huge 6 acre backyard which was mostly grass, hills and some trees, with a small wooded area at the property line.. I was playing closer to the house and heard a rustling behind me. I turned around and saw a brown bear's ass exiting the yard into the wooded area. I remember freezing until it left, and then I ran in the house screaming! no one believed me.. but on the news that night a local bear escaped the zoo..

oh, and another time, I was driving down my own road during the thickest fog I'd ever seen and animals where everywhere. just driving down the road I had to stop the car because the following animals were crossing the road in front of me at random intervals: a snunk, a rabbit, 2 big ass frogs, 3 guys who looked lost (i sped up past them), and a turtle. I was just glad I didn't see a clown. ;

considering the drastic edits that have been done to one piece.. entire story arcs removed, 10 episodes cropped down to 3.. what else could they possibly do wrong?

in the current episodes on saturday nights, luffy and the gang are presently in alabasta.. shortly after, they'll make their way to another island and then to skypiea.. I'm guessing they'll cut out that entire island and make them go straight into the sky. so how do you think they'll edit them up there?
