Looks like Battlefield 5 will be announced the same day as the new generation of graphics cards. Once these cards get announced I'll be watching current gen card prices drop and finally get my new card.

I'm 25% done with Uncharted 2 and I've easily died as many times on normal difficulty as I have while playing all of Uncharted 1. The difficulty of normal increased substantially in this game. wtf. I blame the AK-47 for having crap range now compared to the first game. And you have to burst it or it goes completely wild. As soon as I got a FAL, long range shots got much easier. I beat almost all of Uncharted 1 with just the hand gun. Nailing headshots was so easy. Now I can't get headshots worth a damn. Along with all enemies hitting with almost 100% accuracy (wtf), running out from cover against 3 enemies will almost always get you killed. In Uncharted 1 I could just stand there, line up headshots and take an occasional bullet with no fear. Uncharted 2 changes all that. Every bullet fired will hit you almost 100% of the time and every time a bullet connects it throws your aim off with a bit of a stagger effect. The challenge is real and makes the game feel quite different when almost all enemies will flank your position and rush you, while in Uncharted 1 you only had to worry about shotgun guys doing that and dodge roll away from an occasional grenade. I'll get the hang of this tho. lol.

I beat Uncharted 3 today. It was a good game and it was quite visually impressive on many occasions. But overall it felt like uncharted 2 was a much more enjoyable game to me. 2 was full of constant action, exploring and adventure. While 3 felt more like I was always trying to escape from somewhere instead of exploring. Different parts of the game didn't tie together well for me and left many plot lines unanswered that would be irrelevant in a sequel considering how the game ended.

I'm really surprised by the driver support from Nvidia. I'm not used to updating graphics drivers and I just realized that at least 5-8 driver updates have already come out over the last month alone. I guess I'll be updating my graphics drivers after work today.

Amazon Prime is not impressing me. 3 different orders now over the last 2 months have all said "order within the next xx hours to get guaranteed delivery in 2 days".. and once again my package is late. Amazon Prime delivery estimates are about as reliable as PSN during a game's launch week.

EA is still having problems with their servers this morning. I assumed this would all be fixed by now. I guess I'll be finishing the campaign today and maybe playing some tomb raider.

My younger brother had his surgery to remove his appendix, abscess, etc. He is all kinds of messed up right now with pain. Normal operation for appendix is 15 mins, his took 1 1/2 hours. x_x

After about a year of on and off fractals in Guild Wars 2 I finally crafted the legendary back pack Ad Infinitum. It looks amazing but the glider version is complete crap. I really wanted a legendary back piece because its a legendary that can be used on any class and any build. I loved my necro's green look but it's condi build doesn't use any legendary weapon I currently have. At least I can flaunt off a legendary at all times now regardless of what weapon I want to use. Its a shame it doesn't make footprints like a regular legendary does. It would make up for that with an awesome glider but damn this glider looks pathetic.

I'm baking pulled pork in the oven today since it's 10 degrees outside and I don't want to struggle with temp control outside with the wind chill being 1 degree. X_x 

I did a minor upgrade to the site today, but a couple of themes are not running the most recent build so there might be a few issues with the text editors or some links not displaying everything 100% properly. If anyone notice any discrepancies, let me know.

Even in the last couple chapters of Fairy Tail, people that just died are brought back to life again.. At least a main bad guy is getting a proper ending now with one last big fight. Only 5 chapters left. Knowing how this manga is going, I'm guessing everyone will win with the power of friendship, or the author will be the ultimate troll and have the bad guy win and kill everyone. lmao. If he did that it would piss off everyone. I kind of hope it happens. I'm rooting for evil to win.

I saw a partial eclipse today from where I live. I didn't have the eclipse glasses since there wouldn't be much to see here. But Lady made a makeshift eclipse viewer with a box and some foil. It worked great and we could easily see the crescent shape of the moon over the sun. Even with 70-80% coverage here the light was only slightly dimmed for a while and colors looked a bit off. Other than that it was like any other day. I was half expecting the sky to darken more, but apparently 20%+ of the sun is still bright as f*ck.

I was listening to some music on my PC while I was working earlier today and after a while I shut the stream off. About 20 mins later my speakers abruptly starting making loud low noises like a test pattern. I shook the speaker a bit and it stopped and I turned the power off on them. I kept working and another 5 mins later I smelled burning plastic.. and then smoke coming from my speaker.. wtf. It only stopped burning after I unplugged it from the wall. I don't know if the speaker caught fire because of a component in it, or if the ac adapter kept failed and kept pumping electricity into it. I'm glad I was there when it happened or it could have caused a serious fire incident. Now I'm paranoid about my other electronics catching fire on me. x_x

Jessica Jones season 2 is decent so far. I only have a few episodes left but I don't see how the show will ever be better than season 1 simply because of David Tennant's performance as Killgrave. He was Dr. Who for years and it's amazing to see him be somebody so evil and cruel as that character and nail it like he's always played evil bastards.

I cancelled my amazon prime membership. I wasn't getting nearly enough benefit out of it to justify the $120 price per year. Sure its got alot of benefits but its become like a cable package, everything all bundled together. I don't need 70% of what amazon prime even gives anymore. All I wanted was the free two day shipping. Amazon Prime video sucks ass compared to netflix since every app I used for it forces me to go and set a filter for prime only movies and the search always gave me results not included for free in prime. It felt like a constant advertisement and I stopped using it almost a year ago. eh.

I never want to move again. Almost every day for the last week has been rain and it's raining even now. It's hard to believe how much stuff two ppl can accumulate over 18 year's until you have to move it all under a time restriction.

I've been too busy with moving and stuff. I didn't realize facebook login crippled the front page of AC unless you were logged in. I don't know when that started happening, but I've disabled facebook and twitter login for now until I have the time to resolve the issue.

This super white default theme is bugging my eyes. x_x I was busy all week/weekend again doing insulation work on the house. Couple that with a power and internet outage last week and all my free time keeps getting sucked away. I have a new fridge and dishwasher getting delivered this weekend so I'll be a bit busy with that. Especially since I don't know if the electric is actually hooked up correctly for the dishwasher outlet. I keep trying to play a bit of God of War at night and I end up pausing it and walking away to get more crap done.  ugh.. I need more free time. I'm tapped out almost all of my vacation too. I have a few days left scheduled for the end of the year. Maybe I'll be able to play that new episode of GW2 by then.

Black friday sales started early so I bought a 4k HDR 50 inch samsung tv. I'm pleased with it. The blacks this tv gets still blows my mind. I doubt I'll buy a PS4pro, but in the mean time my regular PS4 has HDR.. but I only have one game that actually takes advantage of it and thats Uncharted 4. I don't think I'll be replaying it any time soon just to see the graphical difference, but regardless this tv upscales like a champ. Everything looks significantly better. Thats a hell of a lot better upscaling than blu ray players do for dvds. Its a night and day difference.

I put on Rise of the Tomb Raider last night and Battlefield 1 and the quality is top notch. Game mode works with HDR for this tv, so I can put on game mode for reduced input lag which is nice without affecting quality. It also has bitstream audio pass through which works great with my old receiver for surround sound.

The tv has Motion rate 120 instead of true 120 hz refresh rate which I didn't know was a different thing when I was buying the tv. But thats ok, I doubt the PS5 when it eventually comes out will even come close to 60 fps at 4k and my current pc graphics card will no way in hell do any better than 60 fps at 4k so I'm pretty much set for future proofing at the moment.. at least for the next 4-5 years probably. And motion rate 120 is a bit nuts. I had to turn the judder down on that. It makes everything so fluid its like everything was filmed like a soap opera.  I never realized more fps on a movie would look so different.  But the biggest downside is for animated titles. It cause a bit too much of a blur effect as the tv basically fills in the games to increase the fps.. its not good for animated shows.

Looks like my weekend will be nothing but shoveling.  10-20 inches minimum Saturday night through Sunday. With a high of 12 degrees.. but the worst part is we're supposed to have high winds. fml.. that will make it have a windchill temp in the negatives all day and drifting snow banks of 1-2 feet everywhere.  

I've been sick as hell for the last 5 days now. Damn sinus infection has wrecked me. At least I got some time in on God of War. Damn that game is amazing.
