My whole family was sick for the holidays. Acute bronchitis and Flu B. Been dodging germs like

  2. My water heater had a seizure. Made some weird sounds and made my lights go crazy in the house earlier. Wtf I can't catch a break. I took a 2 hour lunch break and drained the tank out. Im hoping it removed sediment and it'll work ok. I'm testing it tonight. I'm waiting on a handyman guy to text me back about when he can look at it. Fml.

I guess the dip tube was broken in the apartment I use to live in. The shower would only stay hot for a good 5-6 minutes. XD Shit was so annoying. Eventually the damn thing just cracked open and they had to replace it after saying nothing was wrong with it for a year in a half.

    2. Sledgstone

Lol. Sounds like a typical landlord to me. XD I watched these 2 very informative videos and the guy explains the entire workings of a water heater. I had no idea what that plastic tube inside my water heater was called so I watched videos to try and find out. Those plastic dip tubes corrode and break off after a while. I had no idea this was a thing. This guy's tank had 2 or 3 broken ones inside.

It makes so much sense why my showers don't stay hot nowhere near as long as at my old house. A replacement tube with the metal nipple screw on piece is $39 on amazon. I can't find the damn things for sale at any hardware store. But lowes and home depot will sell a drip tube because they need to sell those with new units. But a dip tube, nope, they'd rather have you buy a new water heater.

Also, I turned the heat up on my water heater last year because of the cold showers, turns out with my hard well water, that caused the heating elements to burn more of the minerals out of the water faster causing the build up mineral sediment faster. My water heater is working good now since friday but I'll replace the dip tube this spring when I don't have to worry about draining any more water out into the snow. Then my showers will get a significant improvement. In the mean time my showers now last a good 10 minutes of hot/warmth and that's good enough for now.

  3. My PC got screwed again. It wasn't just that memory stick. After I pulled a different memory stick, my hard crashes 90% stopped. I was still getting crashes about once or twice a day, but this time it was giving me blue screen errors instead of solid random crashes every 15 mins - 1 hour. All my drivers are up to date, but I kept getting driver_irql_not less or equal crashes with iastora.sys as the issue or it'd be a kmode_exception crash with no driver stated. Turns out iastora is the hard drive driver. I was worried my hard drive was failing. Doesn't look like it is. What I did was manually change the driver from the installed "Intel C220 series chipset SATA AHCI Controller" driver to the "Standard SATA AHCI Controller". As far as I can tell, that Intel driver was a couple years old and I'm guessing was not communicating correctly with my motherboard. Thats my guess at least. The motherboard has had multiple firmware updates over the year, including one earlier this year but that hard drive driver was still 2 years old. The new standard driver is recent as of this year. So far so good. Its been 3 days now and not a single crash of any kind. My PC seems stable now so I'm starting to reinstall my games and maybe I'll have the time to do that server transfer of AC since I won't have to worry about my PC crashing in the middle of a FTP connection.

Everything was working great, then windows update kicked in yesterday. -_-; last night I got another IRQ bluescreen crash. wtf. Only the one crash so far.

Its because you had me check my Necro build. XD GW2 was running like absolute shit because windows wants to update everytime I start the game up. So once I decided to launch GW2, windows pushed through and update. XD

  4. I bought a new power tool set on saturday:

    https://slickdeals.net/f/13466749-ryobi-18-volt-one-lithium-ion-cordless-6-tool-combo-kit-with-2-1-5-ah-lithium-batteries-dual-chemistry-charger-and-bag-179?src=SiteSearchV2_SearchBarV2Algo1

I checked that brickseek site and one of the home depots near me still had one in stock so I grabbed it quick. $70 off is a pretty damn good deal to me and comparable to the black friday deals last year. Most of last years BF deals for these tool sets were mostly larger combos with tools I didn't necessarily need and at a higher price, but still damn good deals. This set however has just about every tool I've been wanting except for an angle grinder. Its not brushless, but brushless tools would be more costly. That and all the brushless tool combos last black friday lacked multiple features the regular tools had like basic LED lights on the tools so you can see what you're doing.

Now that I have tools I can do repair work on my deck. Which is how my weekend went. lol. I fixed a support piece with a new 1x6. I'll replace a couple deck boards this upcoming weekend and the deck should be good enough for winter.

Lmao. I felt like that when I was using the impact driver. That tool is a beast for driving deck screws. :D

  5. My computer had a heart attack yesterday morning. The freezing and rebooting that started almost a month ago from a windows update got so bad I couldn't work on the PC for longer than 15 minutes before it'd freeze again and reboot. So I set it to do a "reset" through the recovery option.. which uninstalled all my stuff but kept my personal files. Took almost 5 hours. and in the end, it froze again once yesterday and again this morning. wtf. I did a memory test and its all good. I'm about to do a full clean install but I'll have to move all my files off first. wtf. Even now I have to re-install everything, Guild Wars 2, etc.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Turns out it was a combo of things. I tested all hardware again. Ran a 5 hour scan on the hard drive, 5 hour scan again on the memory, all good. I learned a valuable lesson yesterday. Don't trust hardware tests. The second memory stick was bad. After pulling it the PC didn't crash the rest of the day. A solid 14 hours with no crash. It was the first day I worked a solid shift without a crash in just over a month. Wtf.

Since its actually working I've noticed that doing a windows reset has actually improved performance quite a bit. Some crashes may have been initially a windows 10 issue with an bad update seeing as the crashes started right after a windows update a month ago. The reset option keeps all personal files, but wipes all programs including browsers and bookmarks. I had to reinstall nvidia geforce experience, avast, etc. One thing I thought was causing the crash before I pulled the memory was avast. After the reset and the crashing still happening I focused on avast thinking programs I was installing was causing conflicts. If I disabled all shields the PC wouldn't crash immediately. So I uninstalled it and installed panda antivirus. That didn't fix the crash obviously since it was the memory, but I left panda on there and I noticed it has less strain on my PC. I'll leave it installed for now because it's kind of nice not getting popups from avast. I reinstalled gw2 and I'll get on the this weekend. My parents are visiting from out of state so i might not have much time to do much with it over the next couple days.

SSDs have gone down alot in price. I'll be watching black Friday sales. If I see a 1 tb for a real good price I'll upgrade my PC to it and take the existing 1 tb in it and buy an external enclosure for it and have a new external for backups. Upgrading to SSD is easy since I learned what to do when I upgraded my laptop years ago. All I needed was 1 usb3 hard drive cable and free cloning software on download.com. I need to check what software I used to see if it's still free. Cloning the hard drive took less time than the windows reset I did the other day. But if you only have usb2 it'll take a lot longer depending on the size of the hard drive. The only catch to cloning a hard drive is the new SSD has to be at least the same size of the existing hard drive or bigger.

I wouldn't mind upgrading my ps4 to SSD like my older brother did. Only problem with that is it's impossible to clone a ps4 hard drive because it's encrypted. Just put the hard drive in, turn it on and the ps4 will have to format and install OS from a usb drive if I remember right.

I'm pretty excited to see what PS5 games will look like a year or two after launch. I was reading yesterday how developers are excited for SSD consoles because they can program with less repetitive coding that was necessary for optimal texture loading and what not. Hopefully that means not only less repetitive environments, but way less reskinned enemies that are harder but just red instead of blue with a few more horns and eyes. XD

I watched a youtube video about that last night. I had no idea that was a thing. O_O

and my PC is heart attacking again. Maybe that one stick of ram I removed was a fluke because its crashing again. -_-; I'm trying a different memory stick again. wtf.

  6. I've been working on my gutters off and on for the last 3 weeks now. I hate these f*cking things. It wouldn't have been making repairs to these if the previous owners didn't redneck the hell out of them. I'm ten feet up in the air two days ago taking a broken piece off, only to find a hidden stripped screw thats impossible to take off, so then I have to break a piece off and my repair work looks like crap because of it. -_-; It'll work, unlike what was there before, but I'm not pleased with it. When I can afford it I'll pay some company to come out and replace all the gutters.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

lmao, I looked like that guy at the beginning of the second video earlier this year. XD The people never cleaned out the gutters. One of the gutters was so bad, it was literally a 3 inch downspout, not cut to length, just jammed straight up into a 5 inch funnel piece. It would never work. Instead leaf and debris built up on the edge of it, and I saw a little plant growing out of the gutter in the spring. XD

What I want one of these days is to pay a company to do brand new seamless gutters for me. Looks a hell of a lot nicer and its a permanent fix since there would be no joints to repair. Most of the companies will do a leafguard combo with it too.

My friend had this done for the back of his house. Its really nice looking seeing one long 90+ foot gutter.

  7. Now I understand why the last Lord of the Rings movie had such a long endless ending.. I'm halfway through the last book, the ring is already destroyed, the war is won and everyone is celebrating at the castle.. theres still like 300 pages left. wtf. XD and one of the biggest differences from the book and the movie was the last stretch of Frodo and Sam's journey. In the movie, they fought Shelob the spider and after Sam killed a couple Orcs and saved Frodo, they  took some more paths and were at the the lava in Mt Doom.. in the book, Sam had to infiltrate a massive Orc base, most of the Orcs killed each other in an argument, save Frodo.. and then had to actually go to Mt Doom still because that was only the first mountain. wtf. They had an extra week of traveling through enemy controlled land, sneak past multiple Orc bases and encampments, dress up as orcs and had to blend in with an Orc march to get over a bridge, get to Mount Doom, climb it.. lmao. the movie could have been so much longer. XD

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

Honestly these books were way too long for movies. It was made too early. With HBO and Netflix these days, this would have been an amazing 5-7 season series easily. Digesting all of it an hour at a time would have made it more enjoyable and manageable.

    2. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

You mean so much better XD Yea the end of RotK kinda drags on for quite awhile with a lot of little things that weren't exactly necessary to get the story across (but remember, Tolkien was a world builder before a storyteller and he built one hell of a world).

God what I wouldn't give for a literal book to TV series adaptation of Lord of the Rings (preferably HBO, Netflix does good stuff but I think HBO would do it much more justice). The movies were a little too condensed for my tastes and honestly not as enjoyable as a TV series would be.

  8. I think I found a new web host. If all goes well I'll transfer AC over to it sometime this month. It might have slower page loads but it'll save me money and some time since I wont have to do server maintenance / troubleshooting anymore.

  9. And the first ceiling fan I put up is making a noise. -_-; I'm going to have to take it back down and adjust the damn steel mounting bracket. x_x When I did the second fan I realized I could get my phone at just the right angle to see exactly where I was mounting the damn thing. I'll have to do that for the first fan now. That'll take multiple hours this weekend. x_x

  10. I installed a complicated ceiling fan yesterday. The light fixture was cheap and held in place by the ceiling drywall. I had to take it out, cut a larger hole in the ceiling, install a ceiling fan support brace and electric box.. But the real bitch was there were 4 electric lines running to this light fixture as a full junction box. I had to cut and strip 12 stiff as hell wires, and run an additional 3 wires to the ceiling fan. Also stuff all the insulation back into the ceiling while gagging on the particulates of it all in the air.. and jam all those wires into the small ass box. In the end it all worked out. Took me 6 hours. wtf. The other ceiling fans I've done for Lady's mom took me around 2 1/2 hours. 6 hours was a pain. I'll have to do it again for my office room. Same thing, 4 sets of wires, ceiling fan bracket, etc. I bet I could trim 1 hour off that 6 hours tho now that I wont have to stop to search for random answers to things again.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Got my other ceiling fan installed yesterday. Took me even longer than the first one. Wtf. 7 hours to install this. I'm pleased with the end result.

  11. Windows 10 August 2019 update has wrecked my PC. wtf. Random reboots and freezing. It did it a few times over the last week, but yesterday it froze and rebooted 12 times. I had to do a system restore to a week ago, but it didn't uninstall the update. Its already froze once this morning. My laptop isn't having this issue.. just my main PC. The last big windows update did the same garbage but not as bad. I swear my PC finally gets stable just in time for another massive windows update to f*ck it all over again.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Last time it was blue screen of death, now I don't even get that so I have no idea what to possibly troubleshoot. Just random freezing and spontaneous rebooting. what the god damn fuck windows.

    2. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

No problems here other than being an inconvenience when I'm trying to play FFXIV.

Although the last update jacked up my video card settings and made my screen resolution 800x400 or something real windows 95.

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

      I think I found my issue. Some old Dell software was causing a conflict. At least I hope this is finally fixed. -_-;

  12. I finished reading LoTR The Two Towers a couple weeks ago after taking a long long break on reading it. It felt like Frodo and Sam were walking forever to Mordor. That part was so long and boring. -_-; I'm glad its over with. When they finally got attacked by the spider I was thankful something was actually happening. Now I'm reading Return of the King and my god this is moving at such a better pace. The attack on Gondor is happening now. After I'm done with this book I'm going to re-watch the entire movie trilogy again.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Lol. I've watched all the LoTR and Hobbit movies multiple, multiple times. XD Mostly because of them being on movie channels on TV when there is nothing else on, I'll put on one these while going to sleep. XD Although, I will never watch the last movie all the way through anymore. All those ending scenes are too much for me. XD

The Helm's Deep battle was definitely better in the book. I have high hopes for the battle of Gondor, so far its awesome. :D

  13. And now my skyscale collection needs jumping puzzles. I knew it was coming but still... x_x

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

The jumping puzzles are done. I ended up crafting 5 of those pungent foods to skip a few. lol. I made the saddle last night. All I have left is to do those 28 rifts.. This collection was beyond massive. What I don't get is Anet said they didn't want to do anymore legendary collections because they spanned multiple maps and could break.. yet heres the skyscale collection that is so big and spans so many maps its crazy to me. If they could do this they could have done more legendary collections. oh well. Its been a fun although extremely time consuming experience. But I'm definitely feeling more bonded with this mount than the others because of all the work put into getting it. And to top it off, anet really wants to sell skins for it.. one dye channel for the entire default mount skin? wtf. But I bet the skin sales for this mount will be far less than the others. I can only imagine the amount of people that got burned out on this collection and won't finish it. And if a large chunk of players don't finish it, then theres less incentive for anet to make more skins for it.

    2. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

The problem with the legendary collections was they were lazy and just put a bunch of random crap to do, including alternate events that required a fail from other certain events... that didn't fail very often in the first place like the Arah defense. It only took them months if not longer to make the Arah defense also count... butt hurt people that will never get a leggy just sat around defending arah all day on purpose until they fixed it. I got Luckly with Astralaria... the stars aligned when 3 people were AFKing for the Melandru defense for whatever leggy they were working on and it failed for me to get the event I needed... so not only did some require failed events, but some required competing events. That's not even going into the multiple busted events there are. They can do all the big collections they want so long as they completely leave dynamic events out of it. JPs, Vistas, World Bosses, hidden chests, mini dungeons, etc. There is so much they can use that don't bug, but they always want you to do their mundane dynamic events that aren't worth doing after the first time you experience them. The Skyscale was done relatively right and some of the multiple map stuff was things they made for the skyscale like the rifts. That's where the real problem is. creating new content for a whole set of weapons. People got burned out because of the time gate more than the actually work you needed to put into it. Which was also stupid of them to do. Casuals timegate themselves, so running into a timegate off your own terms is a put off, especially if someone has as limited time as you have. Even without a timegate, burning through the collection would have still taken many many hours. It was just completely nonsensical. timegates make people log off, not play, and therefore not buy gemstore stuff.

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

For me it wasn't just the time gate.. it was the saddle collection. I'm glad I started late on the collection. I only had that 2 hour delay instead of a full reset. But the biggest hurdle was that damn saddle. If I didn't buy all those jorbreakers and trade them in weekly for those multiple batches of 50 season 4 currency every week during the dragon bash festival I would have given up. Theres no way in hell I would have had the patience to farm 250 of each currency from each map. It would have taken me a year at my pace. I spent just over 100 gold on jorbreakers, but I'd have rather done that than farm all that currency. I still didn't have enough for a couple of them and kept buying the currency from the dragonfall vendor for the limit of 5 per day until I hit my numbers. Thankfully that world boss event rewarded even more of the currency. With that I was able to get all 250 I needed for all of them.. I'm just glad I had the time to participate in those events and knew that saddle collection cost before being surprised with it after those events ended.

I got my Skyscale last night. :D Now I can actually check out the festival.

One thing I noticed is the skyscale collection as well as the Sun's Refuge collections are similar in that they place markers on the map if the collection is activated. I'm guessing this new collection interface is far superior to the old ones they made for the legendary weapons. The legendary weapons collections all had map specific things, like nevermore had ravens in different maps, no markers at all, and even if you weren't doing the collection, those ravens were now permanently there and part of the map now for everyone to see and interact with. But the Sun's refuge and Skyscale are account specific based on if the collection is activated or not and only show on the map for the player that has the collection active. I'm guessing this makes those collections easier to manage and not break like the old leggy weapons versions. The only part of the skyscale collection that seems to be permanently part of the maps is the rifts. But those seem like they're in place now like updrafts and aren't tied to any events so I doubt they'll ever break.

  14. I checked error logs but I couldn't find anything. So I changed a couple settings for the gallery and did a couple test uploads. One image loaded fine, the other upload was 3 images at once. Everything worked ok. One of the issues might have been a file size limitation. Anything around 4mb might have been timing out. I increased the upload size for all usergroups. If anyone wants to test some image uploads, go for it. :D 10 mb is now the largest image the forum will take at the moment. All of my test images were no bigger than 1.5 mb. We still might get an image upload timing out for large images but that might be a hard server setting I'd have to look for.

    1. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

I'll try fucking with the image size because I'm still getting the 504 Gateway Timeout error every time I try to upload a screenshot of my character (which might be the problem since it is 1920 x 1080).

I also have no comment on the absurdity that has proceeded this comment (I really should check the show out but its just to weird, even for me).

  15. This skyscale collection for GW2 is crazy huge. This is easily a larger collection than what was required for the Nevermore precursor. If it required a massive gold investment, this mount would basically be legendary status imo. wtf.

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

XD but it's almost completely free if you dont take any short cuts. While it sucks, for what you get it's worth it. World Completion is now a minor inconvenience rather than a large undertaking with this mount.

  16. I finally got the time to do some stuff again. I hope it lasts. I finished Stranger Things season 3 which was great and I got multiple hours in GW2. I almost have my 2 large festival achievements done for the big chests. :D After that I'm going for my skyscale and warclaw mounts.

      Sledgstone

And I need to get caught up on my youtube backlog. Theres some topics on AC here I want to reply too but everything is a youtube video. lol. I'll dedicate an hour to that later today if I can pull away from GW2 and swimming in my pool. :D

  17. Almost messed up my well by over using it trying to put some water in this pool.. now instead of slow filling it over the next couple weeks while it slowly becomes an algae disaster I'm buying a delivery of water instead. $160 for water. -_-;

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

Holy shit. Never had well water. I feel like we've discussed this before over something else like your propane tanks. But well water here for those that have it is a hassle. Pretty much any tropical system that rolls through will contaminate it and you have to go through whatever process to purify it again. We haven't had a lot of them since Katrina but I remember every time we had one in active years, the local news and advisory systems would always remind people that their well water was not safe to drink. I've always had city water with unlimited use.

    2. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Ouch. Screw having a well in that area. Water around here is so abundant there's entire small towns that don't even have public water and everyone is on their own well. The only downside is the water quality. Some places have iron in the water or hard minerals like calcium that requires a purification system and UV light. My water is so good I don't even need to filter it. I still have a PUR filter on my kitchen sink for making coffee with because it does take down the calcium count to make the coffee maker last longer. And my fridge has a filter built in to and that makes damn good ice. I like not having a water bill but at the same time I wouldn't mind having public water for things like filling a pool.

I have good water pressure because my well system has a good pump, pressure regulator, pressure tank, etc. I get 4 gallons per minute out my faucets. Turns out I drew so much water from my well that my water starting running dirty with literal silt/dirt. My pump sucked so much water out of the well so fast the well couldn't replenish itself fast enough and the pump started pumping the water from further down the well that hasn't been touched in so long a sediment layer must have formed down there. I had to stop using my water aside from flushing the toilets and let the well rest over night. By morning all the water was running clear and fine again.

  18. Its been two weeks since we started work on leveling a spot for a pool.. removing the sod and dirt to level out a spot has been alot of work. Especially since my backyard is one giant hill going up at an incline. So many rocks too.. every single shovel full hits a rock. And on top of it all we had to start the pool circle over at one point because we realized that location had too low of a low point and we'd have to remove way too much dirt. Its been two weekends of 6 hour days each day of shoveling and multiple days off that also had some shoveling time. We've moved over a literal ton of dirt and rocks and sod.. Its almost done. x_x lady has been a beast with all this work. Impressive as hell.

My arms are wrecked but it'll be worth it. Lol.. I wish there was some money in these rocks but it's all just rocks. XD at least I'll never have to buy rocks for edging flower beds. I even have my own quarry on a chunk of my property. I weed whacked a path to it a couple weeks ago.

Thats some big ass rocks. I use to love rocks when I was a kid. XD I'd probably be trying to pick up that mini boulder if I was still 10.

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

That mini boulder is at least 200 pounds. I can't even budge it. XD it was sitting up higher and was upright.. but lady removed a massive amount of rocks from below it and she was able to push it over. It fell straight down to where it is now and hasn't moved since. XD

  19. FedEx delivered my pool the other day.. *sigh* FedEx hires anybody. I see the guy pull into the driveway almost taking out my mailbox at 30 mph. My driveway has a noticeable dip in it. As he hit that I heard boxes from inside my house tumbling around inside his truck. I go outside to open my garage door so I can put it in there for now.. The guy sees me and says "I'm going to need your help moving this, this is heavy." I'm like... "ok.. I can only help so much, get your dolly and I'll help get it on there." He already had the box out of the truck. I'm hoping he eased it down and didn't drop it off the back. This box with the pool in it is 150 pounds. I walk over to him and he still doesn't have the dolly. Hes like "How about you get that end."... me: "No, how about you get that dolly right there." him: "I can't get it off, its tied into place. Its on there tight, I can't work it off.  We could carry it" me: "nah, I have a bad nerve issue in my arms. I'm not carrying this box. I'll get you scissors and then you can cut that rope."

Meanwhile I look in the truck and all the boxes are tossed all over the place. Its a disaster in there. Not a single thing in that truck is secured.. except the fucking dolly that is tied in place. -_-; The one and only tool every delivery guy needs and its tied down while all the packages are getting beat the shit out of in his truck while he drives crazy. I got some scissors, he cut the dolly free. He took that dolly, put it on the ground, I titled one end of the box, he got the dolly under it, wheeled it back and started to move it slowly. His eyes lit up like his job just got significantly easier. wtf. He perked up and moved that box quick to my garage. He asked where to put it, I said near the chair.. and then he put it behind the lawnmower instead.. me: "ok, I can move it from there, thanks!" wtf.. its like he never got trained.

God damn I think FedEx in my area pays $16 minimum for a warehouse position ($22 an hour if you become a driver). No wonder they can't hire quality people XD

See I have that problem with UPS in my area. Almost every package I get through them is usually banged up (luckily nothing has been damaged). FedEx is generally the one you want delivering your package around here.

    2. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Thats what surprised me the most was the hourly wage. Most fast food places around here start off around $16 an hour if I remember right. $13.25 is incredibly low for warehouse work. They pay crap for crap employees apparently. x_x

    3. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

With those wages they gotta take people that basically have no where else to go because they have no references from getting fired and burning bridges.

  21. I've never had a reaction to poison ivy before until this week. My right arm is wrecked. Its been 4 days now and I haven't felt an itch like this since i had chicken pox as a kid. Calamine lotion does help tho.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I don't know if some people can be immune to it or they can build up a resistance to it. All I know is I never had an issue before. Maybe my entire life I've just been lucky that the rash causing oils that touched me were low potency or something. But I'm taking this way more serious now. I had gloves on and a loose fitting long sleeve shirt on when I was doing yard work that day. I'm guessing the loose shirt sleeve rubbed up against the glove that touched the plant and when I pulled my sleeves up at some point to wash my hands it helped spreed the oil on my forearm. I'm glad I had gloves on or it'd have screwed me for work. Its been 6 days now and my right arm is still swelled up and looking nasty. I only have one bump on my left arm but its still swelled like I got stung by a giant wasp. And those spots are starting to get scaly looking. Its like I got that greyscale disease from game of thrones. XD I see why adults warn their kids about never touching poison ivy/oak/sumac. Now that I've experienced this I'll warn everyone the rest of my life too. x_x

There are so many myths about poison ivy that I looked into over the last week. As long as the affected area has been washed it to remove the plant oils the rash cannot spread from person to person, any puss blisters does not spread the rash. Any clothes that did touch the oils can still spread a new rash on whoever touches it until those clothes are washed. And sometimes the rash looks like its spreading, but its just a delayed reaction of the skin where the plant oil already touched but had a delayed rash response.

I did most my growing up in Virginia, and I remember how I was told hundreds of times about poison ivy, It was made out to be as dangerous as a snake basically even though I knew I couldn't die.. I guess it was more like getting skunked. There was some nursery rhyme about its 3 leaf appearance... something like 123 don't touch me!. XD They also made it out like as soon as you touched it, you instantly broke out in disgusting hives like something out of a horror movie. XD XD XD I mean it was overly dramatic but hey, it worked.

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Lmao. XD now there is giant hog weed that is even worse, will burn your skin on contact with sunlight and can cause blindness. I wonder what nursery rhyme it will get. XD

  22. I"m loving owning a lawn tractor. I've used it only twice so far, but its great. I can get my entire lawn mowed in just under an hour and a half. The cup holder seems so pointless.. lawn tractors don't have shocks, its only the seat that has springs to save you from getting your ass and back wrecked.. I could only imagine someone putting a beer in that cup holder and driving off on the yard, that beer would last maybe 20 seconds before its all over the tractor. XD Now I need to buy a weed trimmer to trim around the trees and the ditch.. and 3 ceiling fans. I hate the light fixtures in 3 rooms. Time for an upgrade.

  23. Star Trek Discovery Season 2 was amazing. Significant improvement over season 1. Bringing in captain Pike, Spock and the Enterprise as well as tying the entire Discovery series into the timeline and canon of the original series was well done and extremely entertaining to watch. I wish they didn't f*ck up the klingons as much as they did in season 1, because aside from that Discovery is now a solid show that ranks up there with TNG and Voyager for me.

Strider, if you're using the PS4 app its pretty bad. It seems to be inconsistent and I want to blame both Funi and Sony for it... but mostly funi since PS4's connectivity issues can be worked around by Netflix and every other streaming app it can run. Sadly funi's tech division is in the stone ages. When I first signed up you couldn't even save where you were in an ep or have a history of what you watched. With the membership update tuesday, bugs have riddled the library to where you have to use search and know what you're looking for as the selections on browsing are cut in half or worse.

Some people say they can't even get the app to work, others say they have no issues at all. I will get at least one crash or constant buffering a session. Testing the connection in network settings for me solves the buffer thing, The app crashing, and restarting is just an anomaly, it wont happen for the rest of the day... for a universal solution I can't blame this on Wifi because people say it happens to them on a wired connection. I just know my PS4 has always been finicky about wifi, especially when changing modems over the years. Even though I get 100mbs, my PS4 never does better than around 30-40mbs on wifi. And it will go as low as 12mbs. When I had slower net speeds it was worse. I could run connection test 5 times and get 5 different speeds within a range of 20mbs of each other. So that tells me its never consistent at any time. I think that's what causes the app to crap out for a lot of people because Funi doesn't know how to code for constant connection quality changes or whatever. I can stream on my PC without issue 100%. Who knows what it is. but Yeah I wouldn't blame you for dropping the service since you're mostly a sub watcher.... although Funi now has a ton of subs on simulcast.

@Strider Hiryu I didn't pay a dime for CBS All Access. Now that the second season is done you can get a free 7 day trial, marathon the entire series and cancel it. Aside from Star Trek Discovery there is absolutely nothing I want from CBS All Access. Same with if a season 3 gets made and eventually released 8 months to a year from now, I'll do a different free trial then too after the season finishes airing and watch it. Also, if you didn't finish Enterprise I highly recommend that last season and a half. You'll either love it or hate it since it takes the show in a completely different direction and the tech they show is pretty unique to.

People gave mixed reviews for Discovery for many obvious reasons for season 1 if you watch it. They did the Klingons completely wrong and then try to say it was canon. My ass. Even with how they tried to fix them in season 2 they still screwed them up beyond redemption with season 1. I honestly did not like season 1 at all until they started a different arc 3/4 through the season. They also focused a bit too much on relationships. Straight, homosexual, etc. I wanted to watch Star Trek not watch some half assed relationship drama sub plots that takes place on a space ship. Season 2 was much better since it actually focused on the exploration first and foremost. The other complaint I saw was people complaining about the crew behavior, occasional swearing, and lack of discipline in some cases. Oh no, there was 3 swear words in this season! Blasphemy! -_-; To me it actually made the characters more relatable. Unlike in Enterprise where Scot Bakula's character and half the crew all tried to be boy scouts in space with too strong of a focus on emotional baggage.

DS9 was good. I liked the Dominion war and found it very interesting. I think DS9 gets too much crap thrown at it because of Sisko's character progression into becoming basically a space jesus. lol. I definitely understand why people would want religion not mentioned in a space scifi series, but for DS9 it worked because it was unknown alien life living in a worm hole.

@DeathscytheX Yea I use the PS4 app and its fucking terrible. It worked perfectly when I started to use it (back when I was watching Hellsing Ultimate) but started to go to shit like shortly after (in fact it was horrendous when I was watching Corpse Princess). I hadn't used it since I finished Corpse Princess so I was hoping it was fixed but honestly it's not and my issue is the buffering problem (which also persists in the Phone App as well leading me to conclude the PS4 and Mobile apps are either the same or based on the same architecture). It works fine on my PC (which I tested Saturday night) but ever since I started watching anime through the CR app on PS4 I kinda don't like watching shit on my PC anymore (I like to watch shit while I'm in bed, kinda hard to do when my PC isn't in line of sight)) but I just don't really want to watch it there (as noted). Honestly there is quite a bit on Funimation I'd like to watch (more then I originally thought since CR lost everything when the partnership ended) and it's the only place I can currently stream Isekai Quartet and Sewayaki Kitsune no Senko-san (which is fucking adorable and so relaxing to watch) so I really don't want to drop my sub yet. After Senko and Isekai are done airing I'll revisit whether or not I want to cancel my sub.

@Sledgstone Hmmmm, maybe I'll get the week trial then and binge it (once I'm done watching Letterkenny on Hulu (god this show is fucking awesome, if you have Hulu check it out it's fucking hilarious)) since my curiosity is getting the best of me here (I really want to know more about this tech Discovery has because they don't explain it in STO at all). That was my major issue with watching it was their complete fuck-up with the Klingons. I can live with TOS Klingons because it's canon and actually explained in TNG why they are the way they are but those abominations in Discovery are not Klingons. Everything else looked pretty amazing but I just couldn't get past the those looks.

I plan on watching the rest of Enterprise but it's hard to find the time when I rarely watch anything besides anime now-a-days (I make time here and there for TV/Movies occasionally but I'm always on my PC playing FFXIV or doing other shit and usually have Twitch on as background noise) especially since I got screwed and the channel carrying it back when it was airing went off the air in my area so I only got to see up until the end of S2 (I got to see S3 and part of 4 back when SyFy used to run marathons of it but never got further then that). I actually liked the whole boy scout aspect of it since this was technically humanity's first foray into space (it did get slightly annoying but it was still enjoyable).

Yea the whole space jesus thing was probably the one of the only things that rubbed me the wrong way in DS9. Never really could wrap my head around it but that only really becomes a massive plot point later on. Still didn't detract from my enjoyment though (especially since some of my favorite Star Trek characters are in DS9). Plus it also introduced my favorite Federation starship (the Defiant, god I love that little ship. Not as much as I like my Presidio Class in STO (it's such a beautiful ship and fucking powerful)).

  24. I need to buy a lawn tractor soon.. maybe this weekend. The last lawn tractor I owned was a piece of crap hand me down that nickel and dimed me to death until I got rid of it and got a decent push mower instead. But my yard now has just over an entire acre of just grass. No way in hell I can push mow that. I might get a Cub Cadet or John Deere tractor. I need to see what might be on sale. I had the lawn mowed at the end of last year right when we moved in and its $40 per mow. x_x

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

I had a science teacher that had a goat, now that I think about it he had to mow grass too because he use to tell the class how he sent him out first and watched as he stepped into the hornets nests in the ground and got attacked. He knew where to avoid after that. What a dick. XD

I bought my new lawn tractor yesterday. Had to finance it like a mini car payment. I thought about getting a used one but I didn't want to get nickel and dimed to death by random constant repairs over the years.
