  1. I did a minor upgrade to the site today, but a couple of themes are not running the most recent build so there might be a few issues with the text editors or some links not displaying everything 100% properly. If anyone notice any discrepancies, let me know.

Guests can now view sigantures. I'll fully update the themes sometime this weekend.

  2. I ended up spending my entire weekend cleaning my basement. Theres a good chance I might be moving to a different house in a month or so and I wanted to make sure the move would go smooth. Its amazing how much junk accumulates in a basement. I was planning on playing some gw2 this weekend.. and it never happened. XD

Well at least you did it this weekend and not the Beta. Maybe at your new house, Fed Ex will deliver to the correct house. XD

That would be nice, but I wouldn't count on it with them. XD

  3. I finally got the rarest tonic in Guild Wars 2. The Endless Fractal Tonic. :D That damn thing has such horrible RNG that I feel like I should go buy a lotto ticket right now. XD Its rarity is easily the same as having a precursor drop and after a year of trying to get it I gave up for 6 months. Then over the past month I started playing fractals again, finished my legendary back piece and then got this tonic.. I felt like I had a heart attack when I saw it in my inventory. XD I'll make a video of it later this week. :D

You videos when from barely audible to loud as fuck. XD 50% PC volume and it almost blew my ear drums out. XDXDXD

    2. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

XD I don't know what volume settings are supposed to be normal for recording a video so once I figured out how to set it for max I left it there. XD I can't watch my videos on my phone without turning the volume down. XD

  4. I finally maxed out the mastery points on my Guild Wars 2 account.. except for the raid masteries. Now theres nothing holding me back from making a Heart of Thorns legendary except for currencies. :D

I wonder if the new Kryta map will have Core MP so I can cheese it to finish legendary crafting instead of the map mastery XD.

    2. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Watch that new map mastery be absolutely necessary to get around the map like in Ember Bay. XD In hindsight the Kodan Mastery wasn't actually necessary at all to accomplish everything in the Bitterfrost map. You could have used those MP with no problem. XD

  5. I finished "Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet" on netflix last night. The first episode was some of the best mech anime I've ever seen. I wish the entire series was like the first episode. Then it turned into a 'slice-of-life' anime for about 7 episodes. -_-; After an unnerving loli dance scene in which every guy over 40 was drunk and wooing at 10 year old girls dancing I was done with it (seriously japan? is this what japanese men want? wtf.). But then I looked at the episode descriptions for the final episodes and I stuck with it. The final 3 eps were great and had good action. If you want to see some good mech battles, watch the first and last 3 or 4 eps of this series. All the episodes in between are just filler crap to establish some sense of loyalty between the mech pilot and the group of people on the gargantia. And of course to forge a typical anime relationship of: "i love this guy i just met and even tho we've only known each other for less than 2 weeks, you need to stay with us for life!"

The amusement park ep of Haganai season two was so hilarious. XD I think the harem worked because Kodaka wasn't a mega perv and outside of Rika there was very little sexual frustration. Plus fan service was limited. The show stayed focused on the story and each character's plight.

    3. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

You gotta remember Sledge the Slice of Life genre is pretty much the "Cute girls doing cute things" genre so high school aged characters will always be present (and generally cute girls as mentioned). I guess that doesn't draw that many people in but it does me and I do understand the frustration of it being focused on this age group (it's why I have a hatred of harem series). My all time favorite series falls into this genre, Aria (I can't recommend this series enough. It's not everyone's cup of tea but the show is amazing (so is the manga), has amazing character development (but it is centered around high school age girls), and the art and music is just amazing. I re-watch this series at least twice a year (by far one of the best purchases I've made anime wise)). Plus you also have to realize that these shows are aimed at high schoolers and the Japanese Otaku hence why we see so many shows featuring protagonists around that age category (for some reason it's a major hit over there, so are idol based anime (which I can't understand why it's important, then again the Japanese have a thing with idol worship). They don't care what us Americans have to say on the subject as anime isn't as big over here as it was back in the Toonami era (original run). Anime fandom has died down over here (though it has been seeing a resurgence in the last 2-3 years but it'll never be as big as it was originally).

Heh, I started reading Berserk like 4 years ago but I haven't made it past volume 9 yet. While its a great read (and I do plan on reading the rest of what I have (up to volume 35)) I doubt he'll ever finish it (much like Five Star Stories, I don't think that manga will ever end (it was on a 10 year or so hiatus and the creator just started picking it up again recently). It's one of the longest running manga's to date time wise (13 volumes so far and it started in 1986)). Then again I don't think Rei Hiroe will ever finish Black Lagoon (it's been stuck at volume 10 for like 2 years (pretty much right after the Roberta's Blood Trail arc, which is so much better in the manga. The anime adaptation of it didn't do Roberta any justice)).

I've got a dislike for HorribleSubs and only really use them if I have no choice (I'm not a fan of Crunchyroll's translations which is what Horrible uses for their releases). I'll probably pick that torrent up but god knows when I'm going to have time to sit down and watch 700 episodes (then again I'll probably only pick up the Marineford Arc. I haven't read or seen it but I've seen so many character tribute videos and music videos about this arc that I want to see it in it's entirety. I really want to see Whitebeard kick some ass (I don't know why but I seriously like this character though I know very little about him)).

That was a great episode XD Honestly Kodaka was a great change from the normal protagonist you usually get in harem shows. Down to earth, slightly pervy, and all around great guy who generally cares for his friends well being (I find it funny that he's pretty much a homemaker). If it wasn't for Rika I don't think the show would really have any sexual frustration or fan service (yea Sena still provides plenty of it but Rika is by far the worst for it). Then again the show wouldn't be the same without her if they took her out. My major draw to the show when I started watching it was the sad premise it had, grouping up people who have no friends or social skills. Not only did it provide some great humor (good god the ideas for how to make friends were hilarious) it provided a look into the anti-social tendencies most children and teenagers face these days.

If you have the Berserk manga, I'd still definitely recommend reading it. But dive in knowing you'll never get an ending and you won't be as disappointed. There are quite a few arcs that see full completion in those volumes so it is a great read. The tower of conviction arc (i think thats what it is) was the best part of the series to me. And I just found out that arc will be in the new anime. That will probably spawn alot of new fans of the series, but will cause even more disappointment when all the new fans learn they'll never get an ending, or even at a minimum finally see Casca become sane again. Many people only think of Berserk from the original anime with a messed up ending. But the band of the hawk arc that was in the anime is nothing compared to the rest of the series. The Berserker armor the show is named after has never even been in the anime or anime movies.

If you want to pick and choose some good One Piece to watch, I highly recommend the marineford arc, then keep watching the eps after because thats when the time skip occurs. The fishman island arc after that was great too because it shows an entire new culture.. and alot of mermaids. :P

  6. I finished reading The Hobbit for the first time. Great book but I definitely liked the movies more. It's amazing how they took 40 pages at the end of the book about the battle of the five armies and turned it into an entire 2 1/2 hour movie. Lol. Gandalf didn't seem as powerful as he was in the movies but close enough. But the dwarves in the book were nothing like in the movies. The dwarves hardly fought at all in the book until the very end. They often relied on Gandalf or Bikbo to save them in every situation. Wtf. But the biggest difference I  the book compared to the movies was that Bilbo told them all about the ring. Lol. It wasn't even a secret. They were shocked at first but then he used it constantly.. he even had it on for a solid 2 weeks while the dwarves were imprisoned buy the elves. O_O

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I bet if I'd have read the book years ago before seeing the recent movies I'd have liked the book more because it would have been established for me. I got the entire hobbit/LoTR book collection during an amazon sale a year ago. I've just recently started reading them all. I'm on book one of LoTR now.

    2. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

Good luck with that, out of all the LOTR books Fellowship is an extremely boring read (even though it has one of my favorite characters in it). It has it's high points but it drags on for what feels like forever (Moria is about the only high point of the whole book).

Honestly if I'd of seen the movies first I'd probably be looking at it the same way as you. I power read the LOTR books a month before the first movie came out and then read The Hobbit about a month after said movie came out (that was back when I was reading a new book like ever other week (I miss those days when I had the free time to read, now books just pile up and I never seem to get around to reading them)).

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I hear that about free time. Most of my reading takes place in the bathroom. XD Or when the power is out or I'm stuck in some waiting room and I remembered to bring my book. I used to read on every one of my lunch breaks but I haven't done that in over a year, so it takes me quite a bit longer to read a book now. Took me about a month to read the Hobbit.

  7. I finished watching 13 Reasons Why on netflix and it was depressing. Great acting, good plot. I recommend watching it. It really gives good insight on depression and suicide while showing signs to look for in friends. The premise of the show is that a girl kills herself but she left 13 tapes she recorded, one for each person that wronged her, the tapes are passed to each person until they make it to all of them. In the show, we follow one of the characters as he listens to all the tapes, while having flashbacks of the events that lead up to her death. Its very depressing to see how 1 conversation from just a handful of people at the right moment could have changed her mind. I have a feeling this will become one of those series that becomes popular for a generation, like how Breakfast Club was, because it tackles emotional issues.

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

Pretty grim comparison X_X. I don't know if I'll watch this or not. I see everyone talking about it, but I've heard and read enough of these stories, I don't feel the need to watch ti portrayed on film. I remember all those PSA shorts back in the 80s, perticularly one about playing with firearms, where a kid shoots his brother in the head after finding their dad's gun and playing with it like a toy.

Depression is an interesting complication, because its a fairly new diagnosed disease. I'm sure its always existed, but not at the levels it does in today's society. Part of it is the meds big pharam likes to pump into us, another part is the bullshit they pump into our food, and another part of it is just how our society acts now. We're so digitized, no one really knows how to communicate in person anymore. I was out for my Sister's b-day last weekend and observed a prom couple that stayed on their phones when they weren't shoving food in their mouth. They didn't seem to ever hold a conversation. People need human interaction, but its easier when you're behind a keyboard. Toys, and imagination have been replaced by a tablet... thats gotta nerf the brain's cognitive development somehow.

    2. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I still recommend watching the series because of how they portrayed the the people that wronged her. The majority of those 13 people had no idea their actions directly contributed to her decision to commit suicide until they heard the tapes and understood. And that portrayal of how these individuals came to understand what they did is a great part of the show. Something else occurs thats not stated outright, but it reinforces something I read and heard psychiatrist's talk about in shows.. many people who commit suicide don't discuss the fact that they are going to do it. The ones that do usually want to be talked down from that ledge.

Too many people think they have depression when they're really just extremely sad for a period of time. Doctors might misdiagnose it as depression to (I honestly don't think the diagnosis should be called depression since its a common term for being sad). But full on depression is something that, once set in place, will last for years or end in suicide. In some people its purely an emotional issue but in others its a physical issue. Some doctors don't want to do a proper diagnosis and they just throw anti-depression meds at their patients and assume they'll get over it. In the case of 13 reasons why, its a full emotional breakdown that causes her depression. In some parts of the show I felt that it was a little cliche, like how much drama can one teenager keep getting involved in? But it was a perfect storm scenario. All the things that could happen to keep pushing her off that ledge continued happening like a domino effect.

I agree about the human interaction. Some people can compensate for their illnesses or disabilities by having access to a digital means of communicating with other humans, but the majority of people that have nothing holding them back really need to put the damn phone or tablet down and talk with people. I've seen way too many kids with their faces stuck to a phone playing short attention span games with limited play times. I swear that smart phone games are teaching an entire generation to be ADHD.

  8. I finished watching Star Wars Clone Wars the animated series. I find it hard to believe that Disney kept this as canon. There were a handful of episodes that literally seem to throw alot of movie canon right out the window. I'll have to post a topic about it once I get some references together. I'm trying to catch up on everything that is considered actual true canon now in the new Star Wars universe and this clone wars series really boggles my mind with some of the really dumb things that happened. Overall it was a great series tho and had so much killing in it for a kids show. holy crap. There were even some decapitations. Surprised the hell out of me for a kid's cartoon. XD

    1. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

Never could actually get into this show and from what little I've seen and heard about (watch a lot of Star Wars youtube videos) it is quite funny how this is cannon (then again Lucas declared it canon when he still had control over it). I hear Rebels is quite out there too (again wouldn't know since I haven't watched it).

    2. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

I know they visit Malachor in rebels and refer to the events mentioned KOTOR 2 about the Jedi civil war. Funny since what was left of the planet was destroyed at the end of the game.

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I started watching Rebels when it first came out but then missed enough eps that I dropped it before the first season ended. I'll watch it again to see how the canon is treated in it. One thing I remember being incredibly dumb is the slingshot energy weapon the kid had. Why have a slingshot that you have to manually pull to shoot when a blaster is 1000% more efficient, is faster to fire, takes up the same amount of space and can be used with one hand? So stupid. lol.

  9. I finished watching The Shannara Chronicles on netflix last night. That was a great Lord of the Rings style series that I never heard about until I saw it on netflix. And it was made by MTV. wtf. Thats like having CMT make a new Battlestar Galacta series. No wonder I never heard of this show. If you like the fantasy genre, I recommend it. Elves, humans, dwarves, gnomes, trolls and demons all exist in a far off future earth long after the time of man. Magic is big in this and it even has it's own version of Gandalf.

  10. I finished watching Westworld yesterday and I'm impressed. Its probably one of the best scifi series of the year. Its really a show about NPCs and the management of NPCs in a real life video game. Interesting concept. And I had no idea it was a remake of an old 1973 movie made by Michael Crichton.

  11. I got my new 1 tb external hard drive in the mail today. I have enough free space that I can now save more than 1 or 2 video clips of my games at a time without having to delete something. That was so annoying. x_x

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Lol. I kept burning everything onto DVD-Rs for years, but now I have a massive case of dvds and its no longer feasible to burn things onto disk when I can buy a hard drive like the one I just got. Its smaller than my wallet and holds as much data as my entire case of dvdrs. I ran out of room to store things years ago which co-insides with when I stopped downloading everything. Sounds like we both horde too much digital stuff. XD

    2. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

XD Sad thing is half of that is just anime and the sadder thing is I haven't watched half of the anime either (which is why I'm glad I got a CR sub, I'm whittling that down slowly now) . Oh I'm not even mentioning the stacks of DVD-R's and CD-R's I have with shit burned on them to help conserve space. I really do have a problem, maybe I should apply to be on that Hoarder's show (I wonder if they consider digital hording to be hording XD).

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Digital hording is horrible for me. You should see my inventory on my guild wars 1 & 2 characters and every final fantasy game I've ever played. XD

  12. I got my new modem hooked up. Works good so far but I haven't tested BF1 yet. Hopefully I don't get any surprise NAT errors .

  13. I got the Galaxy S7 today. Bestbuy has a good deal this weekend. $49 with 2 year contract with Verizon and free wireless charger. So far I'm impressed with the quality of the phone over my old S4. I haven't tried the wireless charger yet. I doubt I'll use it much and I have a feeling it won't work correctly with the otter box case I'm using.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

25 hours after my first charge and I'm down to 13% battery. I've been using this phone all day to. My old phone would have needed to charge over 12 hours ago. Not bad.

    2. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

I keep my phone usage to a minimum if possible and only really use it to check email, Twitter, and Instagram when I'm not home near a charger (and my computer) hence why I tend to get good battery life out of my phones. If I actually did what I've been doing over the last three months of being unemployed I'd probably have to charge it three times a day (I've been playing a lot of mobile games and I mean a lot). Signal strength around here is hit or miss but we've got two 4G towers in the area and Verizon has pretty good coverage out here in Western ND (the only one, AT&T sucks out here and Sprint/T-Mobile don't even have coverage in my area) but my old Droid Bionic had a hard time getting a connection which really drained my battery while I was at work (for some reason Walmart out here was like a dead zone for that phone).

I use Samsung's built in app/task killing service now. I used to use TasKiller on my old phones that did a good job but since the last major Android update (not the newest one where my phone switched to Marshmallow) it fucked that app up and it doesn't work anymore. Samsung's service does a damn good job of keeping my battery life up (plus I have my phone in power saving mode and have my screen brightness turned almost all the way down) and actually kills the right apps/tasks, where TasKiller liked to kill everything. I honestly don't know what Samsung phones have the service built in (I'm assuming everything from the Note 4 up but I'm not entirely sure) but I'm assuming yours might (unless it's a Note only feature but I highly doubt that).

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I dug into everything installed on my S7 and for some damn reason Verizon removed the "smart manager" samsung app from their build. Wtf Verizon. -_-; after looking in YouTube it's the exact app I would prefer to use for battery optimization and Verizon doesn't have it available. I do like the fact that bloatware is very minimal on this phone. My S4 had so much pre-installed crap that was only disableable and not Uninstallable that those apps would take up way to much space and would run in the background all the time. But this S7 only had 1 app I had to disable  (NFL), aside from that all the "galaxy essential" apps are located in a widget and it gives me the option to actually download and install them now instead of having it all preloaded. I looked thru those apps and there isn't a single thing I want except maybe the Samsung video player. It's nice to have a boy more control over my phone, but then I see the smart manager was removed. Ehhh. These companies are trying to encourage ppl to not root their phones and install a custom / unbranded android OS by not having shit tons of preloaded apps, but they need to keep all default apps available to. I hate knowing there are great features available for my model of phone.. but not mine specifically.

  14. I hate FedEx. Their tracking is crap and they've delivered my packages to my neighbors before. -_-; As long as my graphics card works, the first thing I'll try out is GW2, then Starcraft 2. I purposefully stopped playing SC2 last month because I was hating the low graphic setting and FPS drops. Once I see it in max settings, I'll marathon the hell out of it in my free time.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

UPS is so much better now that I get text messages indicating when the product is delivered so I know when to look on my neighbors porch for my products. Lol. They have gotten better over the years tho. They haven't screwed up a delivery of mine in 3 years now.

FedEx called me around noon asking where my house was because the driver couldn't see my house from the road even tho the number is visible on the front door from the street. -_-; at least that's better than when they dropped off my tv at the neighbors back door 4 years ago. I try and avoid FedEx at all cost.

    2. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

This is why I prefer USPS, I've never had any trouble with them and always look for the option to ship with them when I can (plus priority shipping, while expensive, always arrives on time or earlier). I don't mind UPS but considering I don't get most of my packages until 7 or 8 pm when I use them it's rather annoying and can be a major inconvenience when it's something you really need. FedEx is a last ditch effort and I only use them when I know my friend is delivering it (he's a driver and he lets me know when he drops a package off if I'm not home).

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I've tried to cancel orders from amazon once I realized they were shipping with FedEx. Every time I had the option to give feed back on packaging I'd complain like all hell against FedEx. Maybe it's just me but for the past couple years anything I've purchased from amazon and fulfilled by Amazon has only been shipped via ups or usps now. I like to think my complaining got me on a 'no FedEx' list. XD

  15. I just beat StarCraft II Legacy of the Void. It was a great campaign and it ended well. Where the story went wasn't what I was expecting. With how it ended I doubt we'll get a StarCraft 3. I hope Blizzard doesn't MMO this game and screw up it's lore. Compared to Wings of Liberty and Heart of the Swarm, Legacy of the Void wasn't the most enjoyable. I definitely liked HoTS better. But I also can't play Protoss worth a damn unless I have a crap ton of carriers.

    1. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

Pfft, at the rate I'm going I won't beat it until next year XD

    2. Sledgstone

If they eventually make a SC3, I'd like to see a fourth race introduced like how the undead army was added to Warcraft 3. They could bring the new species in from another galaxy or from the outer rim worlds or something.

Theres one plot hole I was surprised wasn't touched upon. At one point in HoTS, Kerrigan made a special queen to take over a Protoss ship and lost contact with it. The last time we saw that queen she was still on that Protoss ship spawning an army and was on it's way to Aiur to wage war against the Protoss. I kept expecting a mission to come up with us having to deal with that ship but it never happened.

    3. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

According to the plot summary on the SC wiki the ship is pretty much forgotten after that point (according to the ships profile it was left adrift). We can assume that they are either still adrift (Zerg don't have the means to use Protoss tech) or they fell under the control of Amon and were one of the millions of Zerg you slaughter through the LotV campaign. It's stated that the crew of the ship was unable to send any word to Shakuras (where they were heading) before the larvae spawned and killed the crew so it's extremely unlikely that Artanis even knows what happened and considering the dire circumstance you find yourself in throughout the game it's pretty unlikely that he would of even had the time to deal with it (I mean the poor guy is leading the remnants of his people in a war against a god-like being who can turn his own people against him).

While a fourth race would be interesting (considering all three races are currently at peace) I don't know if they'd go that far with this (I mean I'd of loved to see the Xel'naga be playable but we both know that isn't possible). Who knows what they'll do but I'd still like to see a game based on the Aeon of Strife, it'd not only be a game focused completely on my favorite race but it'd give us a chance to see how Protoss society collapsed upon itself.

  16. I made my gift of bolt tonight. If I can't get this back piece within a week, I'll make bolt instead and give fractals a break for a while. Maybe the guild will start up a fractal night again or mix it in with a dungeon night.

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

I just need to run AC to make gift of lightning and I can toss everything into the forge. X_x I should be asleep, but I had to get artificer up to 400.. ugh the guide was so boring because all the potions. I blew all my laurels and karma to get the obsidian shards... I'm going to be dead broke in gold and mats for a while.

    2. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

You must have been up half the night leveling up that crafting. Even with the guides every crafting profession took me at least 2-3 hours each to level up. I still need to finish my last 2% of world completion to make bolt. I might just make it this weekend because as soon as I don't have a gift of fortune, thats when I'll get that last piece I need for the back piece and I'll have to wait 2 months to finish it. lol.

  17. I ordered a new router, its an AC1900. It should be coming in the mail today. It'll be a big upgrade over the crappy very low end belkin router I've been using for 2 years. Maybe that steam link I bought over a year ago will actually work wirelessly now. That thing is a nice concept but ended up being pointless for me unless it has a wired connection. Instead I stream all my games to my laptop which works alot better. Maybe this router will improve that connection and fix some of the blockiness I get, especially while streaming netflix at the same time.

    1. DeathscytheX

With your luck, your PS4 will start causing weird problems for your whole network again. XD

    2. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Lmao. That ps4 issue pissed me off so much. XD I hooked up the router last night and everything seems to be working great. I'll test out my ps4 multiplayer this weekend. My steam streaming to my laptop even looks crisper. Like with gw2, as long as I'm not near a zerg of ppl the game now looks like it's running directly on my laptop with max settings even tho it's streaming from my pc. If I'm near a zerg it starts to pixelate a bit around the edges of what should be sharp lines.

  18. I played a round and a half of BF4 conquest last night with my brother to start getting prepared for BF1. I forgot how fun the game can be with a good teammate. He jumped on recon and laser designated while I javelined some helicopters and boats. I'll be playing some more BF4 rounds here and there. If you see me on, feel free to jump on or send me a message to team up. :D

I think they got nerfed to. But with laser designated targets it still destroys quite well. :P

XD, I'll hit you up if I see you on. I got back into playing last week and boy did I seriously suck (too used to playing Siege).

I've been playing to much uncharted. I kept trying to reload by hitting R1. XD I'm almost done with uncharted 3. Once I get that beat I'll have to retrain myself to bf4 controls.

  19. I played the original Uncharted on PS3 and I'm playing the remaster now on PS4 so I can refresh my memory before I jump into Uncharted 2 and then 3. I found something out last night. If you shoot an enemy a couple times and then punch them to finish them off you get 1 of 3 unique kill animations. 1 is a roundhouse punch to the face that knocks the guy on his ass, another is a drop kick kill and my favorite and most frequent kill is a slide between / under the enemy's legs and punch them in the balls while sliding. XD I love killing people by punching them in the balls now. XD I never knew this was a thing the first time I played the game. XD Oh.. and hip firing while running auto targets enemies. This is so much easier my second time playing this. And grenades seem way easier to get kills with now. I'm going to have to try to dick punch people in the other uncharted games next. XD

I'm about 70% through the first one. The jet skiing up river part really pissed me off with bad design. Actually all the wave runner areas are bad with insane amount of explosive barrels. You'd be better riding on a slow boat and shooting them. The wave runner is pointless because if you try to run through it you'll just die from enemies shooting them as you go by.

    2. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

      I hated that part on the PS3 and I hated it again on the PS4. I just got through the last wave rider part and what a pain in the ass it can be. The last part is impossible to just go thru fast because the three enemies will rip you to shreds with bullets. you have to go slow on the last part and pick them and the barrels off with Elena's gun. The first couple jet ski parts aren't difficult at all considering Elena has an endless grenade gun that explodes everything on impact. XD But then the last ski part is 20x more difficult with the waves and you only have a crappy hand gun. -_-;

I finished Uncharted 1 tonight. Running while hip firing is so vital in the last 5 or so chapters of the game. I still don't understand stealth in this game. I got only 1 stealth kill ever. I swear every enemy knows my exact location as long as I'm within 20 feet of them. I could be behind a wall, see a guy walk away, start walking slowly behind them and that guy will shout "there he is!", then turn around and shotgun me. eh. Other than that its still a fun game. Those last 5 chapters turns the difficultly up huge tho. I beat it on normal, screw the last quarter of the game on higher difficulties than that. x_x

  20. I saw a partial eclipse today from where I live. I didn't have the eclipse glasses since there wouldn't be much to see here. But Lady made a makeshift eclipse viewer with a box and some foil. It worked great and we could easily see the crescent shape of the moon over the sun. Even with 70-80% coverage here the light was only slightly dimmed for a while and colors looked a bit off. Other than that it was like any other day. I was half expecting the sky to darken more, but apparently 20%+ of the sun is still bright as f*ck. XD

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

Yeah it just looked like a standard rainy day here. There wont be an total eclipse where I live until 2049. I think 2099 is the next time there will be one where you are. XD

  21. I started playing Wolfenstein: The Old Blood and its great. The best part about this game is the hidden "Nightmare" stages in each chapter. I stumbled across the first one in chapter 1 and fell in love with it. I found a random bunk that had a sleep icon on it, I clicked on it and Blazkowicz went to sleep / transitioned into a HD remaster of the 8-bit nightmare that is the original Wolfenstein 3D game. XD Each stage has been extremely fun and gives me flashbacks to my childhood. :D

My PS4 has never downloaded a single update while in rest mode. Its been years now and I'm mostly used to it, but its annoying as hell when I actually want to play a game and I have to wait for a damn update with their dial up speed download rates. -_-; My PS3 perfectly turns itself on around 6am (I don't know if it does it every day or not), downloads any updates and shuts itself back off. But my PS4 can't do this in rest mode. wtf. The only time I have to do an update on my ps3 is on the rare time a download fails or an update happens after it does it's daily or twice a week check. I had to download a netflix update a couple days ago, first time I've had to run a manual update on the system in over a year.

    2. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

For me it's not the download speed. It was the preparing to download part. I'd have to wait 30 min to an hour for 20 seconds of download. Someone said it has to do with the PS4 checking for the updates you already have and trying to decide the least amount it needs to download. Thry really just need to scrap it and just replace the files. The thought is nice to save people bandwidth, but it's not practical if your system never updates in rest.

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Omg yes. I hate that preparing to download crap. I included that into the 3 hour download the other day. It was about 20 minutes of uncharted 4 "preparing to download". That crap makes no sense to me. I can turn on steam and updates will just auto download instantly. No other platform or system will "prepare to download" anything.

  22. I started Ratchet and Clank on PS4 last week. That game felt so fun. Meanwhile I gave up on metal gear solid V phantom pain. It was too repetitive for me. -_-; I'm watching TetraNinja's play through now on youtube. I don't know who this guy is, but his videos are decent so far and his stealth gameplay is far superior to what I was able to accomplish.

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

Coming back to this topic seriously. Ratchet & Clank is a blast. I had a lot of fun playing it, but the final boss fight has your pet peeve where the mechanics are really different, and is much harder than the rest of the super casual game play. XD You'll have to tell me how it worked out for you. For me I just used the preorder weapon to demolish him. XD That thing was ultra OP.

    2. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

MGSV looks fun in this guy's videos but man I sucked at it. But I found out why I sucked at it. Tetraninja didn't mention this in his videos but i noticed he crouch walked alot. The enemies range of detection drops when snake is in crouch or full prone. As long as you are crouched, Even in line of sight of the enemy they won't see you unless you are in a specific range of them which is basically the same range as the silencer pistol. I was trying to be too stealthy in the game and prone everywhere, find everyone, Fulton out a bunch of ppl and then I'd start walking to a goal, get spotted, screw up my bullet time moment and miss a head shot, have 10 more enemies spawn in and screw up everything I've done. Eh.. I could start the game back up and crouch walk everywhere and get a completely new feel for the game but I think I'll pass on it now and finish the series of videos instead.

I thought about resuming but just doing side ops annoyed me because the bases and locations were re-used constantly. For an open world game all the missions go back to the exact same locations and all the massive amount of land on the maps are wasted with endless terrain that gives a false sense of exploration and does nothing but artificially lengthen the game. Every helicopter drop off location is figurativly miles away from the mission goal and makes traveling around time consuming and boring.  For the first time ever I'm having more enjoyment watching someone play a game than me actually playing it myself. XD

      Sledgstone

Lol. You replied while i was typing out my last reply. I'll definitely keep playing ratchet and clank. But i have no preorder weapon.. lol. I hope that last boss fight doesn't make me hate the game. XD

  23. I started Starcraft 2 tonight. I'm only did the first 2 prologue missions and I quickly remembered just how bad I am playing as Protoss. X_x

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I loved a full carrier build with Protoss whenever I used them before. I've done some more missions and the Spear of Adun upgrades make Protoss OP. lol. I pumped all my solarite into the middle upgrades to increase build time and initial supply. And the remaining solarite goes to the vespine gas auto assumulator function. That is the most convenient upgrade ever. Gas in the second prologue mission was a pain and now I never even think about gas again. Along with upgrading all my gateways into warpgates, these Protoss have incredibly fast build rates with crazy power. O_O Warp gates make all the difference. It lowers the build time of all the powerful units to be the same as zealots. Thats nuts. I use the Spear of Adun's pylon deployment and then instant warp in half an army on demand. I've gotten used to making 3 warp gates now and I have a constant flood of new troops. I'll attack some enemy base, drop a pylon at the edge of it, warp in reinforcements and I win every fight with ease now on normal difficulty.

I don't even use stalkers anymore. I go with the dragoons because their upgrade requires no involvement from me and the stalkers need me to blink them around to get their shield regen. I ain't got time to micro manage that. XD My build order so far as turned into making 2 warp gates as fast as possible and making a bunch of zealots and dragoons and then make a 3rd warp gate and dark templar statue thing and getting some dark templars. I just got the stargate and robotics buildings unlocked so once I get carriers available I'm sure I'll change up some of my strategy.

    2. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

I'm thinking I'm going to have to ditch Stalkers myself after the mission to obtain the Keystone (yea, I'm just getting to Shakuras to get the Dark Templar (I'm doing a mission a day)). Stalkers are just so freaking weak and hybrids tear through them like they're nothing (then again Dragoons weren't all that powerful either in the original Starcraft). I'm loving Immortals though, anti-hybrid weapons if I've ever seen them. I'm also thinking of going over the the DT version of zealots. I love the new warglaive zealots alot, especially with their whirlwind ability but they just don't seem as fast as their original forms.

The increased build time and increased starting capacity are a necessity and I went straight for them as well (I'm ok with the first two SoA abilities so I see no need to go further for now). Gateways are a god send, without them I'd of gotten my ass handed to me more then once in these beginning missions. The ability to warp in units where ever you have a Pylon is amazing, Blizzard really showed the Toss some love in this game. I'm really liking this games play style so much more then WoL and HoS (both great systems in their own right) but I'm just loving how the Protoss work (and the fact that we get a massive ship to help us out). I just wish they'd of released this earlier but that's just my Protoss Master Race side speaking (they've always been my favorite faction in SC).

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I'm also trying to do one mission a night until the weekend, but didn't have the time last night to get my mission in. The Sentinel zealot upgrade seems pretty damn nice. Auto rebuild looks quite effective, but I'm still using the auir zealots with their whirlwind ability. They seem to destroy crap so much faster that I don't have to worry about them dying as often. I'm sticking with them atm because it feels like a berserker strategy, kill the enemies before they kill you and its working out good for me so far.

I upgraded my Immortals to Annihilators and never looked back. Screw having double shields when I can go full offensive. The Annihilator's cannon attack can hit air or ground units and is OP as all hell. XD It makes terrain tanks look weak in comparison now and these things don't have to go into siege mode. I have to micro manage that cannon, but with the damage those units do, its worth it. A couple of these in my zerg and they take out hybrids in seconds.

I need to re-learn some keyboard shortcuts. I figured out a couple days ago that I can hit tab while commanding a large group to swap between the different units in that group. That makes micro managing so much easier. Now when I go into a fight, I tab over to the sentries and pop their shields, tab over to my templars for their lightning attack, tab over to my annihilators to shadow cannon big targets. I'm going to look up a couple more keyboard techniques on youtube to make my experience more enjoyable. I'm having a blast with this game. :D

  24. I told myself I wasn't going to buy a game any time soon, but I went and bought StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void. It was $10 off today and I couldn't hold myself back. :D I'm going to marathon this game soon. But I'm still planning on trying out Overwatch this weekend and I still have this last fractal mission challenge hanging on me like a monkey on my back weighing me down. lol.

  25. I was listening to some music on my PC while I was working earlier today and after a while I shut the stream off. About 20 mins later my speakers abruptly starting making loud low noises like a test pattern. I shook the speaker a bit and it stopped and I turned the power off on them. I kept working and another 5 mins later I smelled burning plastic.. and then smoke coming from my speaker.. wtf. It only stopped burning after I unplugged it from the wall. I don't know if the speaker caught fire because of a component in it, or if the ac adapter kept failed and kept pumping electricity into it. I'm glad I was there when it happened or it could have caused a serious fire incident. Now I'm paranoid about my other electronics catching fire on me. x_x
