  1. Onion Steak Burgers - Mmmm... you should try cooking some of these.
  2. I got my SAB orange Kaiser Snake warhorn! So incredibly loud and annoying. XD btw this video was taken with the Windows 10 game recorder and you can see how bad my graphics card it. It can't handle playing a game and recording at the same time so on the recording the FPS looks horrendous.

I bought the SAB glider for my Druid since it matches electro blue. It has a nice trail effect and makes random SAB sounds when deployed. I love it when it makes the "OOOOH BOY" sound the NPC makes when you're beating on the cage. XDXDXD

      Sledgstone

I makes that sound!? lmao! Thats awesome. XD I'm going to get that blue mace since I love the flail animation and it should match up well with frostfang. I'll also get that blue warhorn just so I can complete my personal SAB warhorn collection.

Only sometimes. It's always a random sound. XD

  3. :wahaha: I love these smilies.

Looks like Battlefield 5 will be announced the same day as the new generation of graphics cards. :D Once these cards get announced I'll be watching current gen card prices drop and finally get my new card. :D

Battlefield always sets the benchmark on graphics. Running 60 players on a map with multiple vehicles and stunning visuals is def a chore. XD

  5. A SSD hard drive is a significant upgrade. I now want one of these for my main PC. I wish I'd have bought a cheap 256 GB one during black friday just to have the OS and a few games installed on while keeping my 1 TB regular drive for everything else. For my laptop I only have the one hard drive bay and this 480 GB is plenty of space but a 256 GB would have been way too small. I can now boot up my laptop in seconds. After hitting the power button, typing in my password, clicking on firefox.. only takes 20 seconds. :D It could go faster but I wasted a few seconds in shock staring at my password screen and typing slow. XD Everything on the laptop now loads up fast.

GW2 still takes a while to load, but I think thats because of the online nature of it and my CPU/GPU taking too long to render the game. Regardless of that it still loads all maps literally twice as fast now. It takes almost a full minute to load into the character select screen after logging it. But all maps, including Lions Arch, all load in 10 seconds for me. I wish I had one of these for my main PC since I stream all my games off it. I can get my daily login rewards way faster on my laptop with my alt accounts now and if I'm just farming nodes it'll probably be faster for me to use my laptop now than my main PC. O_O

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

I've seen people complain about the SSD not loading fast for GW2 after the last update. Some say they have really slow login-character select load times right now. It could just be a bug.

    2. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

That would make alot more sense. It doesn't make sense that my laptop running a ssd will take a solid minute just to load into the character select screen, but my pc will load it in 11 seconds.

  6. Amazing how any news about a celebrity can go viral but news about a nuclear power plant leaking for 4 years only gets covered by the local press.

  7. Black friday sales started early so I bought a 4k HDR 50 inch samsung tv. I'm pleased with it. The blacks this tv gets still blows my mind. I doubt I'll buy a PS4pro, but in the mean time my regular PS4 has HDR.. but I only have one game that actually takes advantage of it and thats Uncharted 4. I don't think I'll be replaying it any time soon just to see the graphical difference, but regardless this tv upscales like a champ. Everything looks significantly better. Thats a hell of a lot better upscaling than blu ray players do for dvds. Its a night and day difference.

I put on Rise of the Tomb Raider last night and Battlefield 1 and the quality is top notch. Game mode works with HDR for this tv, so I can put on game mode for reduced input lag which is nice without affecting quality. It also has bitstream audio pass through which works great with my old receiver for surround sound.

The tv has Motion rate 120 instead of true 120 hz refresh rate which I didn't know was a different thing when I was buying the tv. But thats ok, I doubt the PS5 when it eventually comes out will even come close to 60 fps at 4k and my current pc graphics card will no way in hell do any better than 60 fps at 4k so I'm pretty much set for future proofing at the moment.. at least for the next 4-5 years probably. And motion rate 120 is a bit nuts. I had to turn the judder down on that. It makes everything so fluid its like everything was filmed like a soap opera. XD I never realized more fps on a movie would look so different. XD But the biggest downside is for animated titles. It cause a bit too much of a blur effect as the tv basically fills in the games to increase the fps.. its not good for animated shows.

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

I do think both the PS5 and Xbox will both hit 60fps at 4k. Thats the knock on the pro and S versions of the consoles now. While they are more powerful, they don't do this. The next generation on consoles will probably not have much of a polygon count increase like previous generations one uping the next. I think it will be more about dynamic lighting and shadows and how much can happen on the screen at once. We've reached a certain apex in graphics that will be pretty difficult to pass significantly.

We've gotten to a point though where graphics aren't everything anymore. God of War was spectacularly beautiful and is my favorite game of the PS4 era, but I had almost just as much fun playing Ys VIII which had PS3 graphics with current gen aspect ratio. I think there will still be a lot of games that don't hit the benchmark, but there will be Triple A games that do because they are expected too. With the whole shaky ground big studios are on right now though with microtransactions and pissing off their bases with flat out arrogance, I can see smaller studios getting even more love in the future. I want more Ys and Nier Automata and less annual titles. As long as its in HD and looks nice on my big ass TV screen, thats all I need.

  9. Fairy Tail is officially ending. Only 10 chapters left. This writer turned this series into garbage plot lines. :windows: I'm genuinely pissed at this manga now. Not because favorite characters are being killed off like most manga/animes do at the end.. Not that any main characters at this point are in any real threat of dying since every character seems to be immortal. Being mad like that would be a good thing since it means I feel for the characters and the overall plot.. But instead I'm mad because the writer threw so many random plot lines into the story over the last year that its become laughable like a bad soap opera. All long term plot lines are pretty much negated and last minute characters and plot lines now resolve everything.. something that was just revealed 10 chapters ago now solves half the danger to the planet that has been build up as an ultimate power throughout the last 400 chapters. wtf.

I'll compare this to DBZ. Imagine all that build up how powerful Freeza was.. but then right before Goku is going to fight him, Krillin found some magic orb and then Bulma kicked it at Freeza and killed him. No big fight with Goku, no planet namek getting destroyed.. hell, Goku never even met Freeza. Thats the equivalent of what just happened. WTF.

lol. I'm surprised there are still 9 chapters left. Unless some enemy comes back to life to do another fight (this would not surprise me at all), then these last 9 chapters are all basically going to be an epilogue since there are no enemies left to fight.

  10. February this year has sucked with way too many single digit days of bitter cold temperatures. Thankfully tomorrow and thursday will finally be a melt day. 40s and 50s with an over night low of 40s. A large amount of this snow will finally disappear and I'll be able to walk around my yard again.

  11. First it was a heat wave and now we got deluged with rain. Lol. We got so much rain the pool started overflowing at the white frame areas.

    20200717_080543.thumb.jpg.e3beed56a0fb71fc47d8591524193f9b.jpg

The pool at max capacity is 4500 gallons and we only get 4000 delivered every year. The pool was getting a little low last week. Since last Saturday the pool got enough rain to fill it up over 500 gallons and overflow. So much water. 😮

  12. FML my pressure tank is failing for my well. Its getting replaced next week. Getting a new whole house water filter installed too along with some new valves and safety upgrades. Props to the well company employee for giving me the tip of hooking up an air compressor to the pressure tank to put some air in the bladder to get the system gimping along until the repair work is done. I miss public water. lol.

  14. I finally finished iZombie after starting and dropping it a couple times over the years. Its all on Netflix and it was an enjoyable show. It came out during the height of the zombie craze thanks to TWD, but its nothing like a traditional zombie show whatsoever. Its basically a lighthearted police show reminiscent of Psych or Castle, but instead of a psychic or book author helping the police detective solve crimes, its the police morticians, mostly Liv, who ends up becoming a zombie in the first episode. But as long as she eats brains, she stays a mostly normal functioning human. As she eats brains she sees memories of the deceased and she basically poses as a psychic for the first season or so.. and then it gets very good as the zombie virus starts spreading as the series progresses.

Its an enjoyable show and only 5 seasons long so its an easy watch. The writing and acting is good and although alot of episodes are standalone, it does have an ongoing plot line for each season leading up to major developments thoroughout the entire series.

I used to watch all kinds of crap back in the day, RIP off shows, generic b-movies, etc. Now I'm much more selective.. except when it comes to zombies. XD Z-Nation was a great show. XD iZombie was enjoyable.. but the most surprising zombie movie I almost didn't take a chance on but I'm glad I watched it was Attack of the Lederhosen Zombies. I'm not linking the trailer on youtube because it's the worse trailer edit ever made. But the movie was hilarious and on par with any Sharknado movie in terms of comedy. XD

    3. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

Z-Nation was the other one. XD. I really didn't care for Sharknado. It tried too hard to be bad so in the end if wasn't funny bad, or good to me, just mediocre which is the worst thing you can do in my eyes. They went from showing bad movies to trying to make ones and it just didn't do it for me. Mega Piranha will always be the best one they showed. I think that's the one where they had a car chase, and one of the characters was shifting an automatic transmission like it was a manual, and both cars kept changing makes and models in the same scene because I guess it was whatever car they could afford to rent that day of filming. XD Like the SUV was black and the car was white the whole time but they kept changing between a ford and a Chevy. They put stickers over the model/make decals to try to compensate. But this part will always be legendary:

    4. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

      That movie was great. XD

Mega Python vs Gateroid will always be a favorite of mine just because if this bad fight scene.

The acting was so bad it was amazing. XD

Sharknado 3 was the best one. The rest of those movies were garbage compared to fighting sharks in space. XD

  15. I finished LoTR: The Fellowship of the Ring yesterday. Great novel, but if I ever read it again I'll skip the first 150 pages of hobbit only adventures. lol. After that chunk the book turned out to be great. And the fan theory about Gandalf telling them "fly you fools" as in get to the eagles is debunked to me. Theory:

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/lord-of-the-rings-cast-major-fan-theory_us_561dca5fe4b028dd7ea5b392

In the novel the word 'fly' was used as the word run in multiple instances. It was just the writing style. I'm glad they kept that scene like that in the movie, but Gandalf had no secret meaning when he said that. He was simply telling them to run for their f*cking lives or they'd all die in Moria.

    1. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

All I have to say is Tom, you know what I mean (it's the only part of Fellowship I actually enjoyed outside of Moria, I really wish they would of put him in the movie). Everything else before the Council meeting could pretty much be left out (I could care less about how many meals a Hobbit has in a day or how a proper Hobbit should live). Don't get me wrong I love Tolkien's work and I love how he crafted an entire world in just 3 books (technically LotR is one book just split in three) but seriously I don't need all this set-up just for it not to mean a damn thing in the next two novels (as much as I love the Ents they're probably the only real downside to The Two Towers (though they do redeem themselves).

I honestly can't believe people actually thought that. "Fly" has more than one meaning, get a fucking dictionary people. The context it's said in is a dead giveaway as to what he meant because how the fuck do you fly out of a mine (with a Balrog on your ass at that). As much as Tolkien is great at alluding to certain things in his books there is no denying he meant "run for your fucking lives" and not "fly on the backs of eagles". Nerds will never cease to amaze me (yes I say that knowing full well I am one).

    2. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I thought Tom was the most unbelievable character. Lol. He was definitely interesting but singing all the time was a bit creepy to me considering. Especially since he is so powerful he can simply basically order anyone or anything to do something by singing it. He sang a song to the hobbits and told them to go strip down and play in the river. Next thing you know we got naked hobbits frolicking around for a couple paragraphs. XD

  16. I finished reading The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. I actually finished the book a month or two ago, and then started reading all the extra appendices at the end.. and that was alot of material. It was interesting to read about what happened after the movies ended and the eventual end of Aragorn's life all those years upon years later. And all the extra info about the origins of middle earth and the different ages. I didn't finish the entire appendix, I got burned out on it since most of it doesn't read like a full story. Once I got to a section where it was showing large time lines of events, mostly from the original trilogy I stopped. It was a good chunk of info.

On a side note, the actual ending of LotR was in the shire with the hobbits raising a small hobbit army to defaut Saruman. lol. Who'd have ever seen that coming? XD That wasn't in the movie. XD

I was glad to see that Gimli went with Legolas all the way to the end with the other elves. Their friendship was great. 😀 i'l have to buy the Silmarillion at some point so I can read it. The appendices were great with more info about the rings that was never covered in the books so I'm glad all that extra info was included.

I just remembered this comic from dorkly.

    3. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

      XD

I'll warn you it's a slog and a half when you do get around to reading it and pretty much every story is unfinished but it's probably one of the best reads out there for Middle-Earth knowledge. It covers the first two ages and goes into great detail about the Undying Lands (where the elves, Gandalf, and the other wizards are from), why the elves came to Middle Earth, Sauron and his master, the creation of the rings of power, the origins of Aragorn's family line and why he so long lived, and many many more things. Just talking about it is making me want to read it again.

    4. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Now that sounds interesting to me. The appendices talked briefly about Sauron's master. And it got me wondering about that guy and wtf powers did he have. I'll definitely pick it up one of these days. It still boggles my mind that Aragorn's ancestors used to be elves but decided to become mortal. Ancestors made a bad choice and all those generations later they get wars because of it because of the resentment of not being immortal. Yeah, screw those ancestors. I'd rather have immortality. XD

  17. I finished the Magi anime series last night. Its a really fun series, alot of action and decent plot. Alibaba is a bit to much on the high moral ground for me to really like him as a character, but all the rest of the characters like Aladdin (not even close to being like Aladdin from Disney, lol.) and Sinbad really make the series enjoyable. I watched the Sinbad series first because I didn't know any better but that didn't really take anything away from watching the full series afterwards. Theres 3 Magi series on Netflix and it doesn't make sense to me that they're 3 separate series when one is actually the second season and the Sinbad series is an OVA.

For anyone interested the order is: Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic, Magi: The Kingdom of Magic and then Magi: Adventure of Sinbad. The Sinbad series starts off really strong with action and adventure and then basically turns into a story about how he became a big time merchant. ehhh.. The other two series felt more like a regular action/adventure anime with increasingly bigger fights and power ups while still having a good plot.

Lady: "All that thigh hair.." :barf:

  18. I finished watching Chuck earlier this week. Great series but a bit repetitive with 2 specific plot lines. I do recommend it. Its a great series about a guy working as a "Nerd Herd" employee (aka geek squad) at a Buy More store (best buy / walmart combo), he gets an email that basically puts a CIA app into his brain and he has the entire nation's secrets but he can only access them when he gets a visual stimulus. Like when he sees some terrorist guy at a party, he'll "flash" on the image of the guy's face and then the app does an info dump and now knows everything about him and his organization. So now he goes on missions with the CIA/NSA while maintaining his cover of working at Buy More.

Its a fun show with some good campy action expected from a CBS series but Chuck wines way too much about his feelings. I haven't heard a guy talk this much about his feelings and emotions since Boy Meets World. The fifth season shouldn't have been made IMO. Crappy ending to a good show. The endless Subway in show advertising is intense too. wtf. There was a foot long sub promo in 1/4 of the episodes. XD

  19. I finished watching Fringe this past weekend. What a unique show. The first 2 seasons is it's own version of X-Files (without alien stuff), the 3rd and 4th seasons then becomes an espionage thriller, and the final season time skips 20 years and becomes a resistance series where the team has to defeat a powerful enemy. lol. Combine all that with a couple soft resets because of changes in the timeline, an alternate universe with duplicates of people, crazy technology and a handful of individuals with mutant like powers and it definitely makes the show an odd yet interesting experience. I highly recommend it as its a great show to marathon.

The final season probably shouldn't have been made tho but it does finish some of the plot lines not resolved in the season 4 finale. Netflix does screw up a bit. They put an unaired episode into season 1 at a completely wrong moment that broke up the season finale in such a way that I had to google search wtf was going on.

  20. I got back from Ohio last night. My mom had a Remembrance Party in honor of my dad this last weekend. It was a really nice time. I'm glad I got to see so many people that knew my dad and talk to them about how he was a positive and/or great influence in their lives. The party was a bbq party too. My younger brother smoked 30 pounds of pulled pork and 20 pounds of bbq beef. I helped with the process. It was a great time. :D

  22. I have a tooth filling that was replaced last week and its been nothing but pain. I went back to the dentist yesterday and he filed down the filling because it was screwing up my bite, but last night was just bad pain. fml. that sucks. :( i hope you are doing much better now. i havent gone to dentist in decades..i just try to brush em every morning. its not that im scared to go, its just too costly. only scare i had was a couple years ago when i made a habit of eating chocolate ice creams almost everyday and sometimes skipped brushing my teeth. it started hurting for two weeks straight here and there but i kept brushing like crazy to make the pain go away XD and luckily it did.

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Well shit got weird for me.. in the end it was the tooth in front of the tooth I got the filling in that was causing pain. Like it was intense pain for 3 weeks. I got on antibiotics and after 5 more days it ago started feeling better. I figured it was just an infection. I kept the appointment with the specialist at my dentist and told him the good news that everything was feeling better except for some pressure sensitivity. I could even eat on that side of my face again. He looked at me worried and said he can tell what happened and he'll do some tests. So he used these mini cotton balls and used some special can of air or whatever it was to super cool the little balls. He touched them on my teeth. The ones around that tooth all yelled at me when they got touched.. that one that was painful didn't react at all. He tested it multiple times. I never felt cold on that tooth. He said the pain I felt was the root dying from infection and now the tooth is completely dead. I either need to get a root canal or an extraction because it'll eventually start rotting from the inside out and potentially start spreading that rot to my jaw and cause an abcess. Wtf. And it feels almost fine right now.

    4. slippers

      slippers

damn thats bad. good thing you went back to check on it. id have just ignored it after it got better x_x i did that when i had an ear infection, or when i broke my right hand. ignored it until pain got unbearable and after cast was off i just blew off appointments bc i felt better. make matters worse i went fishing a couple days later and the spot that was broken and healed had swollen to a size of golfball. and for the next two years i couldnt grip with full strength with that hand. but yeah i dont mess with something like a toothache. my stubborn coworkers refused to go see a dentist and all waited until pain spread to their jaw, ears, and head. scary stuff.

ps root canal isnt that bad from what i remember. i broke my front tooth when i was in highschool, all i remember was seeing a needle going in (felt a sharp pinch in a gum area), half of my face got numb and didnt feel anything after that. hope you get it done soon before it gets worse. 😕

  23. I have to get a dead tree cut down on my property. Its going to cost me $500. x_x But that doesn't include the removal. To save money I'll borrow a chainsaw from one of my friends and cut up the pieces myself. The tree is tall enough that when it eventually falls, it could hit my house, the garage, the deck, the pool (when its up for the summer) or my propane tanks so its got to come down.

ive seen youtube videos where tree cutters get killed when a tree branch snaps and somehow tangled rope drags the cutter down with it. very dangerous but they do make good money it seems, my ex coworker’s husband is a tree cutter and during summer one job earns him $500-$800 average, thats after giving his workers their share. in winter he sells firewood from trees he had cut down

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Oh yeah, I've seen alot of failed tree felling videos. I'm pretty sure most of them where people getting killed, but the video just shows the tree whacking them or the person falling from a distance, not what they look like in a mess on the ground. One of my mom's friends has a son in law that was trimming a tree over the weekend. He fell 30 feet, broke 2 ribs and collapsed a lung. I think hes still in the hospital. Screw that. Thats why I paid a guy. He was here 2 hours. First he climbed the tree next to the tree he was going to cut, trimmed like 15 branches off the good tree and attached a safety line to it. He had to trim those branches because in case something happened with the dead tree he was cutting, he'd be able to do a quick latch release and swing off the dead tree over to the good tree and those branches had to be cut so he wouldn't impale himself on them in case that situation happened.

    4. Sledgstone

The rest of my wood is all cut up as of this last weekend. A friend came over with his chainsaw and worked his ass off for me. He did an amazing job. We had a hell of a bonfire. Lol.
