  1. I got my new fridge hooked up over the weekend. Built in water and ice maker is amazing. I never realized how convenient that really is. Thanks goes out to the inlaws and aunt for the amazing gift. :D

That's your first? XD I don't know what life is like without it.

Lol. It's my first. They also bought us our first dishwasher. I'll hook that up this weekend. I've never owned one of those before either. 😛

Holy cow, mad conveniences. XD Although diswasher can be hit or miss. Ive had some where you could just rinse stuff off and toss it in. I have had others that you had to make sure you got every spec off each plate or else it would get dried to the bottom of all the cups on the top rack after the water jets blasted it off the plates into the cups. XD

  2. This super white default theme is bugging my eyes. x_x I was busy all week/weekend again doing insulation work on the house. Couple that with a power and internet outage last week and all my free time keeps getting sucked away. I have a new fridge and dishwasher getting delivered this weekend so I'll be a bit busy with that. Especially since I don't know if the electric is actually hooked up correctly for the dishwasher outlet. I keep trying to play a bit of God of War at night and I end up pausing it and walking away to get more crap done. -_-; ugh.. I need more free time. I'm tapped out almost all of my vacation too. I have a few days left scheduled for the end of the year. Maybe I'll be able to play that new episode of GW2 by then.

  3. Black friday sales started early so I bought a 4k HDR 50 inch samsung tv. I'm pleased with it. The blacks this tv gets still blows my mind. I doubt I'll buy a PS4pro, but in the mean time my regular PS4 has HDR.. but I only have one game that actually takes advantage of it and thats Uncharted 4. I don't think I'll be replaying it any time soon just to see the graphical difference, but regardless this tv upscales like a champ. Everything looks significantly better. Thats a hell of a lot better upscaling than blu ray players do for dvds. Its a night and day difference.

I put on Rise of the Tomb Raider last night and Battlefield 1 and the quality is top notch. Game mode works with HDR for this tv, so I can put on game mode for reduced input lag which is nice without affecting quality. It also has bitstream audio pass through which works great with my old receiver for surround sound.

The tv has Motion rate 120 instead of true 120 hz refresh rate which I didn't know was a different thing when I was buying the tv. But thats ok, I doubt the PS5 when it eventually comes out will even come close to 60 fps at 4k and my current pc graphics card will no way in hell do any better than 60 fps at 4k so I'm pretty much set for future proofing at the moment.. at least for the next 4-5 years probably. And motion rate 120 is a bit nuts. I had to turn the judder down on that. It makes everything so fluid its like everything was filmed like a soap opera. XD I never realized more fps on a movie would look so different. XD But the biggest downside is for animated titles. It cause a bit too much of a blur effect as the tv basically fills in the games to increase the fps.. its not good for animated shows.

I do think both the PS5 and Xbox will both hit 60fps at 4k. Thats the knock on the pro and S versions of the consoles now. While they are more powerful, they don't do this. The next generation on consoles will probably not have much of a polygon count increase like previous generations one uping the next. I think it will be more about dynamic lighting and shadows and how much can happen on the screen at once. We've reached a certain apex in graphics that will be pretty difficult to pass significantly.

We've gotten to a point though where graphics aren't everything anymore. God of War was spectacularly beautiful and is my favorite game of the PS4 era, but I had almost just as much fun playing Ys VIII which had PS3 graphics with current gen aspect ratio. I think there will still be a lot of games that don't hit the benchmark, but there will be Triple A games that do because they are expected too. With the whole shaky ground big studios are on right now though with microtransactions and pissing off their bases with flat out arrogance, I can see smaller studios getting even more love in the future. I want more Ys and Nier Automata and less annual titles. As long as its in HD and looks nice on my big ass TV screen, thats all I need.

  4. R.I.P. Stan Lee. You will be missed. :(

  5. I still haven't had the time to play any of the GW2 halloween event and it ends tomorrow. :( but i did get the new entrance to my deck completed. I cut a good chunk of the wood fence off, reinforced it with pieces of 2x4, sanded it and reinforced adjacent parts of the deck with huge deck screws. I borrowed my friend's impact driver. Holy crap I need to buy one of these. That thing is beastly and amazing. :D

  6. The people that were renting the house I bought ended up breaking the stove and the master bathroom faucet. Over the last week I got my new gas stove, converted it to propane, got it hooked up, replaced my faucet... ran duct work and installed a new dryer vent.. the owner never installed a proper dryer vent. Their tenants must have been venting the dryer into insulation into the house.. wtf. I have more projects still.. I also have to change the faucet in the kitchen. -_-; I hope I can finally be done with house work this weekend. My PS4 is still sitting in a plastic walmart bag and I have multiple boxes still left to unpack. -_-;

  7. I've been too busy with moving and stuff. I didn't realize facebook login crippled the front page of AC unless you were logged in. I don't know when that started happening, but I've disabled facebook and twitter login for now until I have the time to resolve the issue.

  8. I never want to move again. Almost every day for the last week has been rain and it's raining even now. It's hard to believe how much stuff two ppl can accumulate over 18 year's until you have to move it all under a time restriction. -_-;

I told you it was the worst part. XDXDXD

  9. Thanks Spectrum/Time Warner for shutting off my services in the middle of the work day. fml. I scheduled the new account activation at my new house for this weekend and for the old account at the house I'm renting to terminate as of monday.. so what does Spectrum do? Shut my account down 1 day before the new account is activated and a full 4 days before it was scheduled to close. wtf. It took me 40 mins on the phone for them to reactivate my internet so I could finish working. wtf.

    1. DeathscytheX

Its amazing how you cant just call up the cable company and have them come out that day to hook you up, but they can come a day early to disconnect you. XD Its such bullshit because it takes all of 10-15 minutes for them do to their job when they show up... but you need an appointment. It should be as basic as ordering pizza.

    2. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Lol. Its funny because Spectrum had a hell of a time at my new house this morning. The person that did the install last time did the grounding wire completely wrong and this guy had to call up another spectrum person for help. They dug up a trench and buried a cable. He was here just over 3 hours running brand new cable all over the place and hes got to come back again later to replace a phone line in a crawlspace. XD At least I have good internet here now. I have 100 mbps connection, 10mpbs upload, no data caps and if I want to I can upgrade to the 1 gig plan here and have a 990+ mbps connection. Its actually a downgrade for me atm tho. The plan at my old house was 200 mbps standard. That would cost me extra now.

  10. Finally got our house today. All the legal paperwork is done and keys in hand. :D

      DeathscytheX

Now the worse part.... packing and unpacking. X_x

    2. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

The worst part was the last 10 weeks. XD we've been moving stuff the last couple days and even tho it's busting our asses, at least it's not too stressful. XD

  11. The last two chapters of One Punch Man have been the best action/fight scenes I've seen in a manga in years. Flashy Flash's fight was epic and focused on speed and technique. Huge props to the artist for how he drew a speed battle in manga form. Very impressive.

  12. Its been quite the stressful couple weeks. Lady had her surgery and is having a very slow recovery process. My bank required specific repairs to the garage to approve the mortgage and instead of paying a massive price to a contractor me and my friend spent 2 days this last weekend busting our asses in 90 degree days with 90% humidity and full sun working on the garage. Thats all done and accepted now.. Yay. Getting into the final stretch here with the house. Hopefully I'll be moving by the end of the month. I might actually have free time this weekend... finally. *knocks on wood*

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

We went a bit overboard with those garage repairs.. But its all good for me since we'll be buying it.

    2. DeathscytheX

90 degree weather with 90-100% humidity is every day here from mid May til October if we're lucky. That shit sucks, mostly because of the suffocating humidity... especially when you get into the car after its been sitting out in that all day. Some people think I'm crazy loving cold weather, but you can always put more clothes on... there is only so much you can take off. XD I haven't washed my car since April, and I probably wont again until next month when it manages to get down into the 70s again. I can't imagine spending all day out in that shit. I use to as a kid no problem... but unloading trucks at work for 30 min makes my whole shirt soaked in sweat since our loading dock is open. My previous job it was closed in.

  13. So much legal paperwork with house crap. Its been taking up all my free time for the last month. One more month to go and it should be all done. x_x

  14. I cancelled my amazon prime membership. I wasn't getting nearly enough benefit out of it to justify the $120 price per year. Sure its got alot of benefits but its become like a cable package, everything all bundled together. I don't need 70% of what amazon prime even gives anymore. All I wanted was the free two day shipping. Amazon Prime video sucks ass compared to netflix since every app I used for it forces me to go and set a filter for prime only movies and the search always gave me results not included for free in prime. It felt like a constant advertisement and I stopped using it almost a year ago. eh.

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

I'll keep mine around. I order way too much from amazon to give up my shipping. I order 2-5 times a month. I order bulk items like snacks and coffee. I get a 48pk of Quaker chewy bars for $11, and sometimes $8 with a coupon. A 8pk at the store is almost $4. If I order it on Sunday I can expect to get it on Wednesday every time. I just have to make sure I order anything I want before Thursday to get it in two days.

  15. A new chapter of Fairy Tail came out one year after the manga ended. It picks up right after the end of the series. Even tho the last couple arcs were written horribly I'm glad the series is back and can get a bit of a fresh start now that so many long term plot lines have all been resolved. The original mangaka is writing the plot lines and story boards but a different artist is actually making the manga. The art style is similar so far but its noticeable on some pages. If anything we might be getting less fan service with this guy. Lol.

I haven't read Edens Zero but I just looked at the first chapter and skimmed through it and it looks like an alternate reality Fairy Tail except instead of mages, theres humans versus robots.. and space travel.. wtf. XD I guess I'll read this. But yeah those characters are exactly like you said.. The main character is Natsu but with Grey's hair and Lucy looks the exact same except her name is Rebecca.. and theres a cat.. also named Happy. XD

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

And of course I saw one page where the girl starts crying and the guy gets a nakama power up.. "I'll fight for those tears" *instant owns everyone* -_-; yeah, this is the same guy that wrote fairy tail.  XD

  16. My router shat out on me today and screwed me for over an hour as I thought it was my internet. -_-; My power went out and after it came back on my router started freaking out and will only stay connected for 5 seconds at a time and then go down again for 4-5 minutes. I hooked up my old back up router in the meantime. Now I have to call up the support line tomorrow and see if Tenda will honor their warranty. I ordered a TP-Link router off amazon a little while ago for a cheap $59 on sale. It seems decent enough and I've never had any issues with TP-Link before.

      DeathscytheX

Linksys fa life XD My 4 antenna dual 5ghz/2.4ghz beast was worth every penny. I'm sure my neighbors 3 houses down can pick up a medium quality connection on this thing if it wasn't WPA2 locked. XD

    2. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Lol. I've had a linksys router crap out on me. Ever since then I've had no brand loyalty for routers. :P

    3. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

I've had a Belkins and D-Links crap out on me but the only Linksys that died on me got hit by lightning. XD I'll have to give that one a pass. I've never had a TP-Link.

  17. I went golfing over the weekend for the first time in about 3 years and surprised the hell out of myself by actually making par on 2 par 3 holes. I definitely need to work on my long game. I can hit a 3 wood decent enough by my skill with a driver is atrocious.

  18. I bought a Nvidia Shield yesterday with that 20% off ebay sale. (These random once a month one day ebay coupon flash sales are really really nice.) I'll get the shield delivered sometime tomorrow or monday. I'm looking forward to trying it out and hopefully it'll serve great as a plex server for me. I've been using plex for a while now on my pc and it great, but I really want to have access to all my movies/anime/series to watch in bed without having to have my main pc on acting as a media server. Its also nice, that it fully supports 4k. When I eventually buy a 4k tv, all my 4k streaming needs will already be in place.

  19. The housing market is crap around here for what we can afford. -_-; I really really want to move this year. I just hope we can find something before winter.

      Sledgstone

      Yeah screw that. I need that internet the day I move in. Its aggravating how the housing market is right now. Everyone thinks that have a golden turd. I've looked at houses that look great in pictures and in person are dilapidated disasters that need major rehab work and are listed 40k more than they should be. The other houses that are listed for the right prices sell so damn quick they're on the market for 2 days to a week tops. There were 2 houses last year that would have worked for us but we hesitated thinking we'd find something better and a year later we're still looking. We won't hesitate again. -_-;

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I really want to find a house and move at this point just to get it all over with. Its so time consuming looking constantly online and going to a potential house just to find out its a dump.

    4. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

That seems to be the way it is. You either get privacy or internet. I think I even had a friend that offered to pay for the cables to be ran to his house because it was one of those awkward situations where the street across from him had good internet but his street didn't. They still turned him down. Its pretty amazing how terrible our internet structure still is. And with city codes and what not I bet it's too much of a hassle to go through the process to run cables to a single house just to give someone access to your service.

  20. Smoked some ribs last night and they turned out amazing. :D

  21. I bought a new air conditioner today. LG 6,000 btu with remote and digital controls. I have an older model like it in another bedroom window and it works amazing. But this is the first time I've used eBay to buy something so big. Bestbuy was the seller and i would have gone right thru their official site but the 15% off eBay coupon was to good to pass up. I won't buy a GE air conditioner again. The majority of the insides of all these units are Styrofoam while the other 2 LG air conditioners I have are all solid plastic and metal construction.

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

Oh, buying a new air conditioner means something completely different down here. XD It's still expensive I bet, but I was thinking you paid way more. Window units are nonexistent in the south since the early 80s probably unless the house is super old. Everyone has central air units here. If you have to buy a new one of those, its thousands of dollars for a decent system. With temps in the 80s or higher from May-October window units are definitely not cost effective here.

    2. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I could imagine. Lol. I usually run 3 window air conditioners here during the summer. They're pretty energy efficient for this small house. My parents and grandparents had whole house AC units that were beastly outdoor units. I'm trying to pay off some debt so even a $170 AC is cash is rather have spent on something else right now. But the old AC it is replacing was insanely loud. Nothing could stop that damn rattle noise. It was duct taped, foamed inserted, etc. I even took it apart and put it back together and that damn thing still sounded like it was going to explode. Lol. I'm looking forward to the new unit. I'm planning on moving this year so hopefully my current air conditioners will be effective for some other house to. That's the other reason I'm trying to pinch pennies.

  22. I started Ratchet and Clank on PS4 last week. That game felt so fun. Meanwhile I gave up on metal gear solid V phantom pain. It was too repetitive for me. -_-; I'm watching TetraNinja's play through now on youtube. I don't know who this guy is, but his videos are decent so far and his stealth gameplay is far superior to what I was able to accomplish.

      DeathscytheX

Coming back to this topic seriously. Ratchet & Clank is a blast. I had a lot of fun playing it, but the final boss fight has your pet peeve where the mechanics are really different, and is much harder than the rest of the super casual game play. XD You'll have to tell me how it worked out for you. For me I just used the preorder weapon to demolish him. XD That thing was ultra OP.

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

MGSV looks fun in this guy's videos but man I sucked at it. But I found out why I sucked at it. Tetraninja didn't mention this in his videos but i noticed he crouch walked alot. The enemies range of detection drops when snake is in crouch or full prone. As long as you are crouched, Even in line of sight of the enemy they won't see you unless you are in a specific range of them which is basically the same range as the silencer pistol. I was trying to be too stealthy in the game and prone everywhere, find everyone, Fulton out a bunch of ppl and then I'd start walking to a goal, get spotted, screw up my bullet time moment and miss a head shot, have 10 more enemies spawn in and screw up everything I've done. Eh.. I could start the game back up and crouch walk everywhere and get a completely new feel for the game but I think I'll pass on it now and finish the series of videos instead.

I thought about resuming but just doing side ops annoyed me because the bases and locations were re-used constantly. For an open world game all the missions go back to the exact same locations and all the massive amount of land on the maps are wasted with endless terrain that gives a false sense of exploration and does nothing but artificially lengthen the game. Every helicopter drop off location is figurativly miles away from the mission goal and makes traveling around time consuming and boring.  For the first time ever I'm having more enjoyment watching someone play a game than me actually playing it myself. XD

    4. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Lol. You replied while i was typing out my last reply. I'll definitely keep playing ratchet and clank. But i have no preorder weapon.. lol. I hope that last boss fight doesn't make me hate the game. XD

  23. I ordered a new router, its an AC1900. It should be coming in the mail today. It'll be a big upgrade over the crappy very low end belkin router I've been using for 2 years. Maybe that steam link I bought over a year ago will actually work wirelessly now. That thing is a nice concept but ended up being pointless for me unless it has a wired connection. Instead I stream all my games to my laptop which works alot better. Maybe this router will improve that connection and fix some of the blockiness I get, especially while streaming netflix at the same time.

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

With your luck, your PS4 will start causing weird problems for your whole network again. XD

    2. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Lmao. That ps4 issue pissed me off so much. XD I hooked up the router last night and everything seems to be working great. I'll test out my ps4 multiplayer this weekend. My steam streaming to my laptop even looks crisper. Like with gw2, as long as I'm not near a zerg of ppl the game now looks like it's running directly on my laptop with max settings even tho it's streaming from my pc. If I'm near a zerg it starts to pixelate a bit around the edges of what should be sharp lines.

  24. Jessica Jones season 2 is decent so far. I only have a few episodes left but I don't see how the show will ever be better than season 1 simply because of David Tennant's performance as Killgrave. He was Dr. Who for years and it's amazing to see him be somebody so evil and cruel as that character and nail it like he's always played evil bastards.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I finished the season. It was good but season 1 was still the best. If they make a season 3 I hope focus on some major enemy for her to fight. This season seemed a bit slow at parts and felt a bit to much like any origin story for a character that has already been established.

  25. And another 6-12 inches minimum of snow happening today through tomorrow morning. wtf. I haven't had time to game or watch any youtube videos. Its work, play with the dogs, do random stuff that needs to be done, shovel, go to bed, repeat. -_-;
