Well my dryer broke after about 15 years and multiple repairs I've done over those years. I had to buy a new dryer. So far so good. I was finally able to get my laundry done again and my bathroom no longer smells like dirty socks and febreeze.

I got back from Ohio last night. My mom had a Remembrance Party in honor of my dad this last weekend. It was a really nice time. I'm glad I got to see so many people that knew my dad and talk to them about how he was a positive and/or great influence in their lives. The party was a bbq party too. My younger brother smoked 30 pounds of pulled pork and 20 pounds of bbq beef. I helped with the process. It was a great time.

FML my pressure tank is failing for my well. Its getting replaced next week. Getting a new whole house water filter installed too along with some new valves and safety upgrades. Props to the well company employee for giving me the tip of hooking up an air compressor to the pressure tank to put some air in the bladder to get the system gimping along until the repair work is done. I miss public water. lol.

My neighbor next door is moving so he had a full house sale over the weekend. I lucked out and bought his snowblower for $150. Its got some years of use on it, but hes kept it in amazing shape. A new gas one like this is around $800+. I hope it works great this next winter. It could save me all kinds of time shoveling.

My PC came with a free month of Game Pass Ultimate. I decided to check out what I can play for free and found out how garbage the Xbox App for PC is. I downloaded Halo Infinite. The game wouldn't load. It would show the spartan insignia and then I'd just get a black screen. I never got to the title screen. Upon investigating this, its apparently a common issue. I tried all the "fixes" and uninstalled and re-installed the game twice. It never worked. So then I try to play The Ascent with a friend. The game worked fine solo, but we couldn't connection to each other. Again, I look it up and its once again.... a common issue. This time with no fix. We gave up and bought it on steam where it works without any issues. Needless to say, I'm cancelling Game Pass.

I'm not impressed with game pass for PC, but with the Ultimate, try the cloud gaming feature and see if you can play any xbox console exclusives on your PC. There might be something worth playing on that during the free month. But yeah, the pc game pass sucks.. try and access the free EA Access games, lol. You have to install the EA Access app, login to it with your game pass and access the EA games through that because they can't bother to have a single app to launch the games. -_-

I was expecting to get that car this past weekend only to never be called by the salesperson. I called today and the car is delayed again another week. WTF. I don't know if this car is floating on one of those cargo ships off of california, or if there is just no truck driver to actually drive these cars to NY from whatever state they were manufactured. It'll be 3 months since I put a deposit down. My recommendation for anyone that needs a new car, go to 2-3 different dealerships and put a deposit down of $100 to reserve a car at each location, whichever dealership gets the car in stock first then gets the sale. I honestly wish I would have done that.
-
I forgot to update, I got the car 9 days ago! Exactly 3 months from the date I put the deposit down. I'll have to upload some pics of it soon. I'm glad it finally came in. I was stressing my ass off with my old car since the exhaust could have broken off at almost any time. 6 days after I got the car I bought new snow tires for it. I'm all set for the winter now.

The alternator on my car died yesterday. x_x I'm getting quotes today to see how much to get it fixed. fml. I still have an exhaust issue with the car to but the two places I've gotten quotes from of course don't want to patch the hole, they will only replace my entire exhaust system. wtf.

My 2010 Toyota Corolla has been very reliable and has lasted me 11 years now. It's definitely showing its age now and it's been having a few issues. The only major problem my car had was 4 years ago when the cars computer screwed up and started messing up the idle and thermostat. Ended up being $1,000 to fix at the time but aside from that I've only had to do regular maintenance and brakes. The yaris is a nice ride but they stopped making them in 2020.

The guy that did my brakes last time also does a variety of other auto repair. He replaced my alternator for $300 including the part. The dealership wanted $607. I don't want to get nickeled and dimed by the car since it is 11 years old already so I was going to trade it in and get a used car. The used car sold but my trade is in worth way more than I thought it would be. So now I'll get a new car, but all the new cars are out of stock like PS5s because of the chip shortage. I had to put a deposit down on a new car and it'll be in stock around the end of October or maybe beginning of November. wtf. Its a good thing new cars are so expensive and requires insurance, warranty, loans, etc or all those Ebay flippers would be buying up new cars and reselling those for large profits. wtf.

Well I just landed myself a PS5 thanks to an email invite, thank fucking god. On a fricken adrenaline high right now and so freaking pumped because it means I finally get to play Cyberpunk. Gah!!!!!!!
If you'll excuse me I'm going to go calm down now and let this adrenaline high subside.

Mosquitos here have been a bastard the last 3 weeks! Ravenous assholes that don't even care that I have deep woods off sprayed all over my body and citronella candles are burning everywhere. I even sprayed some cutter bug killing spray onto part of my yard and those bastards keep coming for every time I walk outside. x_x Its times like this that I don't mind winter because it kills every last one of them.

Thanks for mentioning my avatar.. It still loads on my browser, but when I clicked on it in my profile it was busted. wtf. I think I got it fixed now. lmao @ the tatoos.
I think because we had so much rain there are small pools of water everywhere now. I'm guessing theres thousands of random little tiny cm size pools of water hidden in the mulch in our flower beds. I think the news guy said it was the third wettest July in history here. x_x

Finished Gundam SEED tonight. As cliche as it could get, I still really enjoyed it. Mecha designs were above average.... and despite a lot of recycled animation during battles, I still found them engaging and entertaining... and all the love interests swapping around tickled my fancy. Character deaths were pretty brutal as well. Its def worth watching for the average fan. Better than Unicorn, but not IBO as far as recently watched Gundam series.

I have to get a dead tree cut down on my property. Its going to cost me $500. x_x But that doesn't include the removal. To save money I'll borrow a chainsaw from one of my friends and cut up the pieces myself. The tree is tall enough that when it eventually falls, it could hit my house, the garage, the deck, the pool (when its up for the summer) or my propane tanks so its got to come down.

Its been a month since my root canal. I had another appointment yesterday for the rest of the work. They removed the temporary filling, xrayed it to make sure its all good, then did the permanent filling, then shaved/shaped the tooth for the crown, then imprinted my teeth/jaw line with a mold, then put on my temporary crown. Took them an hour. My new permanent crown will be ready in 2 weeks and then I'll finally be done. This root canal situation has been quite the experience. $1200 total after insurance. I have another tooth that might need one if it gets another cavity. If that happens I think I'll have that one pulled instead since its in the far back. Screw all this. x_x

I'm glad you got your crown fixed! lol @ the hoarder comment. It was like that for me too. When we bought the house and moved, the 15 years of stuff we accumulated ended up being a huge amount of stuff. We weren't hoarders, but damn its amazing how easily so much stuff can build up that we haven't used or touched in over 10 years. And I threw out alot of stuff over the year leading up to us buying a house and moving too. Its crazy how stuff just starts to blend into the background or in a basement.

Oh yeah, I've seen alot of failed tree felling videos. I'm pretty sure most of them where people getting killed, but the video just shows the tree whacking them or the person falling from a distance, not what they look like in a mess on the ground. One of my mom's friends has a son in law that was trimming a tree over the weekend. He fell 30 feet, broke 2 ribs and collapsed a lung. I think hes still in the hospital. Screw that. Thats why I paid a guy. He was here 2 hours. First he climbed the tree next to the tree he was going to cut, trimmed like 15 branches off the good tree and attached a safety line to it. He had to trim those branches because in case something happened with the dead tree he was cutting, he'd be able to do a quick latch release and swing off the dead tree over to the good tree and those branches had to be cut so he wouldn't impale himself on them in case that situation happened.

Omg what a horrible string of bad luck. I hope everything starts going better for you soon. You didn't get those busted water pipes back in February did you? That would have been horrible to replace the carpeting and then have water damage. I'd get that filling fixed. It should be free since you already paid for it and they should rush you in to since they screwed up. There is also a temp filling package you can buy at pharmacies to fill in the hole in the tooth until you see the dentist again.

These over the counter temp fillings don't always have the best reviews tho.

Holy crap. Yeah screw that. All that sounds like horror stories to me. I'm ok on a small ladder like working on my single story roof gutters or getting on a ladder to do light bulbs and stuff, but this tree is roughly 36-38 inches wide and probably 50 feet in the air. Its too near the house to safely cut because it could potentially still hit the house because of the angle of the huge part of the tree's trunk. This tree guy is fully insured so if he falls to his death or hits the house with part of the tree, his insurance will cover it. x_x The tree guy said he'll climb up there, tie off ropes at multiple locations and take the tree down in 4-5 large cuts as he climbs back down it.
