  1. My computer had a heart attack yesterday morning. The freezing and rebooting that started almost a month ago from a windows update got so bad I couldn't work on the PC for longer than 15 minutes before it'd freeze again and reboot. So I set it to do a "reset" through the recovery option.. which uninstalled all my stuff but kept my personal files. Took almost 5 hours. and in the end, it froze again once yesterday and again this morning. wtf. I did a memory test and its all good. I'm about to do a full clean install but I'll have to move all my files off first. wtf. Even now I have to re-install everything, Guild Wars 2, etc.

I got 2 windows updates in a single week. I've turned my PC one every day for the past 2 weeks so once wasn't some delayed update because of it. After the first update I figured I was set for a while then a few days later GW2 kept lagging super hard and locking up... yup, another update. -_-; I really don't get why there are so many updates. I don't leave my PC on all the time like I use to, Its on for about 4-6 hours a day when i work. So programming it to update later is pointless. What are they constantly fucking up for there to be an update so frequently? Why can't we advance into the future to where we don't have to restart every time... and whats even worse these days is every program demands their own induced restart... just using normal restart doesn't count for Avast, and various other programs that update.. no they have to restart through their app. -_-; wtf

Windows 10 has pissed me off so much over the last year. MS insisted on doing the one operating system for all devices crap and its just too big for its own good imo. I'm still having issues with my PC. I haven't played a game on it in almost a month because of this random freezing crap. All my drivers are up to date, motherboard bios up to date, all my software is up to date, all firmware is up to date. My hard drive and memory all test fine with multiple different tests. All windows updates, nvidia graphics drivers, etc are all good. Either Windows 10 installation is completely f&cked on some small scale that is crippling my PC or I have a hardware issue. And if its a hardware issue, then I still blame windows 10 test for showing all positive results. Before I completely clean install windows 10 which will wipe my hard drive clean, I'm doing one final test and pulling memory sticks out of my computer. I have 4 memory chips. I'll keep pulling one out at a time and see if it keeps freezing. First stick made no difference. I'm on the second stick now. I'm honestly hoping its a memory stick issue at this point. If I backup all my stuff, re-install windows 10.. that will take another 5+ hours.. and if it keeps happening, then I'll assume my mother board is going and I'll have to buy a new pc. I've put so much time in diagnosing this crap.. so aggravating.

Its windows 10. Plain and simple. There is so much horseshit that screws with PC performance its unreal. Like we discussed before, you can edit the registry to disable superfetch, compatibility telemetry, and all that other junk that eats up disk usage, and the very next update it all gets reactivated. My next PC will have an SSD, but I don't see me upgrading for another few years. The 100% disk usage is a constant issue for me the first 10 minutes my PC launches. Thats even with disableing everything from loading on start up besides some key apps for my mouse, keyboard, and headphones. Avast and Malwarebytes too.. but thats all that starts up and I still get 100%. Avast is the main culprit for the first 5 min but then its all these windows processes that if I end task will lock my PC up and I have to restart anyways. I just know ending task on super fetch and telemetry provides instant relief.
