I've never had a reaction to poison ivy before until this week. My right arm is wrecked. Its been 4 days now and I haven't felt an itch like this since i had chicken pox as a kid. Calamine lotion does help tho.

Why does this make me imagine that you've frolicked through poison ivy your whole life without a care in the world until this day.

I have. Lol. Whenever I've mowed grass before I'd see poison ivy brush up against me and never have a problem. I'd walk thru woods and shrubbery and never get a rash. But this time I grabbed a vine growing on one of my trees and yanked it completely out of the ground, long root and all. 1 day later and my arm is swelled in multiple spots like I got stung by 20 bees.

I've ran through woods all my life too, but from a young age I was always told to avoid poison ivy/oak/sumac. I've never touched it out of the fear that was instilled in me. I didn't know you could be immune to it.
