  1. The power of friendship prevails in Fairy Tail and the bad guy was defeated. -_-; *slow clap* One chapter left for the epilogue. This guy hasn't drawn a hentai inspired chapter in a long while so I'm going to assume it'll end with a bunch of fan service at this point.

It's so bad. The last 1/4 of the manga doubled down on the "I'll never let down my nakama!" power ups to the point that every fight had the same outcome. Fairy tail member does a good fight, bad guy is clearly superior and owns.. then at the last minute when they believe a friend has died or is about to die they power up shouting some crap about their guild and nakama and then owns the bad guy in one hit, usually a punch that has magic imbued in it instead of an actual magic spell. And one or 2 chapters later its revealed the guild mate is still alive some how. Every action packed series I've ever watched or read always has some main characters die.. but not in Fairy Tail. The story lost all sense of danger or meaning once you realize they're all in no danger. They're all basically immortal because the author didn't want to kill anyone.

It sounds like he doesn't have a complete grasp of how he wants to end the manga or he's just selling out. That or he's just been pushing through so he can start something else he wants (you'd be surprised by how many manga-ka do this when they just want to end the series and move on to something else).

This is also the reason why I don't read these long running stories. I prefer short, self contained stories that last 1-3 volumes (I think this is the reason why I read so much shoujo manga). The longest running series I've completed was Claymore and that ending was rather forced and abrupt (considering all the lead up and epic fights). Honestly I've noticed a considerable dip in quality coming out of manga lately, like manga-ka just don't care anymore what they do as long as it secures them a pay check (then again these people work 17+ hour days, 6 days a week so selling out is probably the only way they get consistent paychecks).

He must have some other project he wants to do because this was a horrible ending. The first 3/4 was amazing to. It's a shame. Naruto was a solid manga up until the final ninja war and the endless dialogue victories over actual combat. That and the mangaka's endless plot device known as the sharigun eyes that have endless powers that get made up on the fly. One Piece on the other hand is amazing and that writer has never shat on his work. Everything is tied together and referenced back to. I'm positive he knew how one piece would end by chapter 10.
