clinic staff and patients are supposed to receive federal protection; funny I can't recall ever seeing so much as a cop car outside of planned parenthood or family planning. I can recall crazy protesters with their cars covered in blown up photos in aborted fetuses. I can recall the nut jobs that were screaming foul shit at me just because I was going there for prenatal care. I was keeping my bun in the oven as were most of the women going there but because doc's there referred or performed abortions we were all the devils whores and going to burn in hell. -_-;

This violence isn't new, nuts are praising the terrorist as a hero

here come da backlash

"Tiller the Baby Killer."

That's how Fox News host Bill O'Reilly referred to Dr. George Tiller who

was murdered in cold blood Sunday while he attended church.

Tiller's crime? He provided health care to women. Including abortion.

Salon.com

http://act.credoaction.com/r/?r=3743&id=4287-1999172-qAJeWkx&t=18

reports that FOX's "O'Reilly Factor" has featured attacks on Dr. Tiller on

no less than 28 episodes:

"He's guilty of "Nazi stuff," said O'Reilly on June 8, 2005; "a moral

equivalent to NAMBLA and al-Qaida," he suggested on March 15, 2006.

"This is the kind of stuff happened in Mao's China, Hitler's Germany,

Stalin's Soviet Union," said O'Reilly on Nov. 9, 2006.

What happened Sunday is devasting. And it might not have happened if it

wasn't for the hate mongering of Bill O'Reilly and others like him. We are

mourning Dr. Tiller's death today -- and our thoughts are with his family,

his church, and his community. But we're also taking action.

and tell Bill O'Reilly to take responsibility for creating an atmosphere

in which the assassination of Dr. George Tiller comes as no surprise. Ask

him to pledge to stop spreading the hateful rhetoric that encourages

violence against doctors who provide reproductive healthcare for women.

Bill O'Reilly’s Jihad Against Dr. George Tiller
Since 2005, Bill O’Reilly has waged jihad against Dr. George Tiller, dedicating 29 segments of his show to demonizing and dehumanizing Tiller, who he invariably called "Tiller the baby killer."

As you can see from these video clip samplings of O’Reilly’s holy war, you don’t have to actually pull the trigger to help sponsor terrorism:

Bill O is such a bastard, but he's not as dangerous as the totally unwrapped that listen to his shit.

From the editors:

Much has been written about the cold-blooded murder of Wichita doctor George Tiller as he attended church on Sunday, a sick crime that can only be described as an act of domestic terrorism. Over at Feministe, however, a compilation of written testimonials from his patients should be required reading for anyone who claims to know what Dr. Tiller meant for the women he treated. Perhaps what stands out, above all, is the boundless empathy Dr. Tiller appears to have had for his patients. "Until one understands the heart of a woman, nothing else about abortion makes any sense at all," he once said.

Democracy Now! has devoted the past two days to remembering Dr. Tiller. This morning they played a recording of a remarkable speech he gave last year, a speech that provides deeply saddening glimpse of the open-hearted and courageous man who was lost.

I personally see a society that respects the integrity of its citizens to struggle with complex health issues and make decisions that are appropriate for them and their personal lives. I see a society that respects the religious differences of its citizens. I see a society that rejects hate, rejects judgmental condemnation, and rejects prejudice and racism. I see a government that honors the privacy of its citizens without unwarranted surveillance. I see a society where war is not an option. Thank you. And the negotiation with mutual respect is the hallmark, rather than mutual self-destruction. I see a society where the welfare of all -- I see a society where the welfare of all is equally important as the riches of the few. I see a world that discusses solutions without demanding its own answers.

Thanks for reading,

THE TILLER MURDER WASN'T A LONE KILLER'S SICK PLOT; IT CAME OUT OF THE RADICAL ANTI-ABORTION MOVEMENT

By Jill Filipovic, Comment Is Free

The murder of Dr. George Tiller is a logical outcome of

increasingly violent rhetoric from pundits like Bill

O'Reilly and radical pro-life groups.

HOW THE FBI COULD HAVE PREVENTED DR. TILLER'S DEATH By Amy Goodman, King Features Syndicate

His alleged killer was seen vandalizing the clinic both the week before and the day before the murder but officials failed to enforce existing laws.

http://www.alternet.org/reproductivejustice/140432/how_the_fbi_could_have_prevented_dr._tiller%27s_death/

George Tiller did not have to die. He was assassinated while in church in Wichita, Kan., on Sunday, targeted for legally performing abortions. His death might have been prevented simply through enforcement of existing laws. His alleged killer was seen vandalizing a Kansas City clinic, Aid for Women, both the week before and the day before the murder, putting glue into its door locks. The manager of that clinic, who calls himself "Jeff Pederson" to protect his identity, told me he called the FBI and local police both times, but the vandal, the alleged killer Scott Roeder, was not arrested. Pederson had Roeder's first name and his license-plate number. He had images of him on the security video. He recognized him from previous protests.

Pederson said: "The clinic was closed on Memorial Day weekend. A worker tried to get in on Memorial Day but couldn't. The locks were Super-Glued. I went to the videotape and I saw the same guy on the videotape who had done it in 2000." Pederson called his contact at the FBI, agent Mark Colburn. "He [Colburn] said the videotape wouldn't be clear enough, and since I had touched the locks, I had ruined it with my DNA. So I bought new color video cameras."

On Saturday, May 30, the clinic manager said "Scott" struck again: "My head nurse calls me, 5:40 Saturday morning. She had come to prep for the patients. When she was coming back from the store she noticed the Taurus [Roeder's car]. She made her way to the back door. She saw him. He saw her and bolted. She followed him to his car and started talking to him.

"He tried to stand in front of the license plate, but she got it, 225 BAB. As she ran back to the clinic, he shouted 'Baby killer!' at her."

Pederson called Colburn, reporting the second vandalism and letting him know he had better video. Pederson said Colburn told him, "The Johnson County prosecutor won't do anything until the grand jury convenes." The next day, Tiller was murdered, allegedly by Roeder.

I called the Kansas City FBI and reached Colburn. He immediately referred me to FBI spokesperson Bridget Patton. I asked her about the incidents at the clinic and why the suspect hadn't been arrested either time. She said: "I am not sure of the timeline, but whenever an act of vandalism occurs at an abortion clinic, we are notified of that vandalism and respond appropriately."

An appropriate response is arresting asshat for vandalism which apparently didn't happen
The 1994 federal Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act (FACE) makes it a crime to block or damage a reproductive health service facility.
lets see the lazy bastards being paid to protect us enforce the fucking federal law

:smoke2:

Tiller Killing Spurs Renewed Calls for US to Reverse Longstanding Passivity on Anti-Abortion Extremists

To many critics, the murder of Dr. George Tiller, the eighth abortion provider to be killed since 1977, highlights the US governments refusal to take seriously the threat of domestic right-wing, anti-abortion extremists. We speak to author and journalist Frederick Clarkson, who has written extensively on anti-abortion violence, and Chip Berlet, senior analyst at Political Research Associates and coauthor of Right-Wing Populism in America: Too Close for Comfort.
