See the trailer and a few clips of the live action adaption of the anime Kite

I've never seen Kite, two of them are on netflix now I assume because of this project... I wont watch them however, because the customer reviews claim they are heavily edited. American live action adaptions of anime or any remake of japanese films have been a bust because they throw in to many western story cliches and ruin the original content... then you have Dragonball Evolution... which I'll never watch.

It looks interesting.

I've seen the original Kite and Kite Liberator (new main character that takes place after first OVA). Honestly you're not really missing much by not seeing them. Kinda meh in my opinion. The version of the Kite OVA on Netflix is the completely edited version that cuts out all sex scenes and most of the extremely violent acts that take place in the show (there are three versions of the original OVA). The only real thing you miss, story wise, is her motivation for doing what she does at the end of the OVA which honestly really isn't much. Your choice if you want to actually watch it but I'd say don't waste your time.

Outside of the curiosity thats being piqued by how true they'll stay to the source material I have no real need or want to watch the live-action adaptation when it comes out (plus it's an American adaptation, anything and everything that's deemed bad for American morals will be but out). Plus after watching the first two minutes of the trailer it looks rather horrible.

Love how all you people complain about plot with an action flick XD

"That fairy needs to stop shouting in my ear, or I'm going to throw her friend I have trapped in the bottle into a lava pit or something. HEY, LISTEN! No, YOU listen. If something's important, just say so without yelling at me. Or fly over to it and change color like you usually do. Just because I'm busy mowing the lawn and hoping I'll find some spare change, doesn't mean I can't hear you." - Link

Kite was an interesting anime for me when I first watched it, mostly because of the amount of violence in it. Considering how young I was when I first watched it, it really made me realize how drastically different anime can be compared to US cartoons. Aside from that, I wasn't a big fan of the anime. I watched it maybe twice? This movie seems like it will fail to me. Like Eppy said, its a mostly action movie.. but the trailer showed more talk than action.. ehh. Maybe if they had whatsherface that plays Hit Girl in it, then I'd probably watch it.

I'm surprised Kite is being made into a movie.. if hollywood wants to make old animes into movies, I hope they make Vampire Hunter D next. :P

Dragonball Evolution was a horrible movie. I watched it just so I could see how bad it was made.. oh man.. it ranks up there with Super Mario Brothers in terms of how off mark all the characters and plot was compared to the source material.

Well Neon Genesis Evangelion is still floating out there, and Akira is being made. NGE won't come close to the source material if they tried to make it.

I don't know what you're talking about. Super Mario Bros is a cinematic masterpiece. XD XD XD

Fushigi Yugi, the mysterious play, is the story of a young girl named Miaka and her adventure into a magical book known as "The Universe of the Four Gods". Upon opening this book, Miaka is ripped from her world and placed inside the story. Miaka quickly discovers that she has a destiny to fulfill, for in this story her role is that of the Priestess of Suzaku. As the Priestess, she must seek out the seven warriors of Suzaku so that she may summon the beast god Suzaku and have her wishes granted.
But when Miaka's best friend Yui also becomes trapped in the book, a bitter rivalry ensues as Yui takes her place as the Priestess of Seriyu. While all of this happens, Miaka's brother Keisuke and his best friend Tetsuya, read the book and follow Miaka's progress throughout the story.
Fushigi Yugi has proved itself to be one of the most powerful animes I have ever had the priviledge of watching. The depth of the characters made me truely feel for them in their times of pain and happiness.
The dialoge that passes between each of the characters can be quite funny at times, but serious issues can sometimes lead to drastic events. The drama that unfolds leads way to intense battles and situations that drew me deeper into the story. With each episode, more of the story is read and The Universe of the Four Gods comes ever closer to an end. How will the story finish? Watch it yourself to find out.
The epic drama that is Fushigi Yugi is an anime that I will always admire and recommend to everyone.

Scrap Iron City is where this story takes place as Ido, an exile of Zolem and a cyborg engineer, begins another of his often ventures into the scrap to search for pieces of machinery to salvage. On this fateful day he comes across the remains of a cyborg and quickly realizes that it is still alive. He decides to repair her and when the cyborg awakes, she has no memory of her past. Ido decides to give her a name and that name is Gally.

Let me start off by saying I watched Fate/Zero earlier this year and it was amazing. One of my favorite series of all time now. The action, strategy, emotional connections, brutal murder, ideals, anti-hero.. it had everything I love. And the last fight in the series was one of the best damn fights I've ever seen in an anime. The series is on netflix in english and I enjoyed the english dub. Heres a trailer for it:

I know the fate/stay night is based off of a hentai game property and thats fine. I'm not interested in that. If anything that game setup the ground work for an amazing anime: Fate/Zero. The original fate/stay night series I never watched and after watching unlimited blade works I doubt I'll watch anything with the fate/stay night name in it again. Another series I loved that was based off a H-game was "Tears to Tiara".. excellent anime. Action, adventure.. and just like Fate/Zero, no hentai garbage, just an excellent series.

I saw Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works show up on netflix and I finally watched it thinking it'd be a great sequel to Fate/Zero.. boy was I wrong. This series was more based off the actual property, minus hentai.. It was horrible. Its like they took something amazing and turned it into everything I hate in an anime.. all main characters are kids.. in school, with school outfits, and an occasional dojo episode. wtf. I only watched the first 13 episodes and I'll pass on even finishing this series once netflix gets it. I don't want it tainting the awesomeness of Fate/Zero any more.

Fate/Zero was epic.. a full on war between 7 mages and their heroic spirits.. the battles were intense and everyone expected a fight to the death at any moment. But unlimited blade works starts the next holy grail war. And everyone continues going to school. Seriously? If any of these characters were in Fate/Zero they would have been dead in the first episode. These two series are so drastically different its like comparing Gundam to Care Bears.

      TLDR

Watch Fate/Zero. Watch it now. Amazing.

Delete Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works from your queue and never watch it or feel utter disappointment.
