Here is the first official trailer for Godzilla! A few months ago some of us got a look at the 2 year old comic-con trailer that has never been seen by those outside of the event. It was quickly pulled by Warner Brothers on any media outlet it could have been found on. This trailer is slightly different. Godzilla will be out May of 2014!

Too much emphasis on humans.

Has the same flaw as the 1998 version for having the military as the answer to defeating Godzilla.

The original 1954 film had the military defeat Godzilla 0_o. All Godzilla films had emphasis on humans. In fact there were many human or "space aliens" that looked like humans that tried to kill Godzilla via machine or alien beast. The Comic-Con trailer showed dead monsters and Toho had a lot of say in this film.

I'm banking on Godzilla reprising his role as Anti-Hero. He wrecks shit as he pleases... but if some other monster wants to wreck shit, Godzilla is gonna put a stop to that. The military will have its classic "shoot everything we got at him" to no avail, and scientists will babble on about crazy ways to defeat him via flawed science. In the end all other monsters die and Godzilla returns to the ocean, or they some how throw him in a volcano again.

Its going to be a cliche Godzilla film with nothing new to offer other than awesome special effects... and I'm ok with that. Not really expecting an Oscar performance, I'm just happy to see Godzilla... looking like Godzilla, destroying cities.

Sounds less exciting than Pacific Rim when you put it that way. I hate Oscar Bait so if it was I'd skip it for that reason alone. As for Godzilla looking like Godzilla, I'll wait until they show how he moves. Because if he ends up looking like a guy in a costume I might as well skip & watch old episodes of The Power Rangers.

wtf... XD

I love a movie with great special effects.. but I don't think any Godzilla movie will beat "King Kong vs Godzilla"

XD

This movie was so fucking terrible... both costumes looked so bad. Def the worst looking Godzilla ever.

If you want an all out action cheese flick, this won't be it. If you want a movie like the last Godzilla, this won't be it. This isn't an Independence Day kinda film. The Director's done Monsters, watch that first to get a sense of what you're in for. It's more about atmosphere, sounds, cinematography and I expect it to be well done. Expect. Hope. Yep, setting myself up for disappointment haha.

I am putting myself to the fullest possible use, which is all I think that any conscious entity can ever hope to do.

I thought Monsters was a decent movie. Now that you mention it, this could be a very different Godzilla movie than what I was expecting. It could turn out to be much better.

New trailer's out. The use of Ligeti in the midst of visuals to show chaos and destruction is very fitting. I'll go see it in theaters.

The best part might be those arms though; the way they affect the overall posture and body shape of Godzilla let you imagine that there's still a guy inside a rubber suit

That on its own makes me want to skip seeing this movie....

Was it really that hard for the American Trailers to show two giant monsters? If they just did that I'd be in a less crappy mood about the theme of the movie so far.

"That fairy needs to stop shouting in my ear, or I'm going to throw her friend I have trapped in the bottle into a lava pit or something. HEY, LISTEN! No, YOU listen. If something's important, just say so without yelling at me. Or fly over to it and change color like you usually do. Just because I'm busy mowing the lawn and hoping I'll find some spare change, doesn't mean I can't hear you." - Link

Its actually a new monster that transforms sorta like Destoroyah from what I've heard. You can search for the toy to get a spoilerish look at it.

Its name is

Muto

I'll watch this once I can find it dubbed since I love Godzilla movies, but Godzilla itself doesn't look all that great to me. Its not the molten burned look its got going on, but the unmoving arms in the trailer that looks so bad. Its being directed by Neon Genesis’  Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi.

The Asia trailer for Godzilla is more revealing than any western trailer to date. You get a better look at Godzilla and the foe he will encounter. Godzilla is also portrayed more like the antihero that he is accustomed to being when he is not the sole monster of the film.
