I loved my old BB 6800, I'd hop on it again without question. That physical full qwerty keyboard in unbeatable with the current tech or touchscreen phones (even if I were to compare it with Swype). Another good thing about those phones were their good battery life. Flip side, no battery hungry apps or multiple apps could be run or enjoyed or experienced with as much fun as a big screen touchscreen. Incomparable on either side of the pros and cons.

Anyway ...

SG4 over the Xperia Z

Better screen color, works with gloves, those new air gesture things

Faster chipset

Dual-video

Higher version of Android out of the box

Multiwindow tasking

A thermometer, barometer and what not

SG4 over the HTC One

Bigger screen, works with gloves, those new air gesture things

Much higher resolution cam

Higher version of Android out of the box

Multiwindow tasking

Faster chipset

Storage you can expand

Can replace your battery for a higher capacity one

Thinner, lighter and smaller

A thermometer, barometer and what not

In contrast ...

Xperia Z over SG4

FM

TV out

Glass cover that looks cool and comes with dust/ water protection

Not as expensive

HTC One over SG4

Front speaker, FM

Better looking aluminium body

Optical image stabilizer

Your call.

SG4 over the HTC One

Bigger screen, works with gloves, those new air gesture things - Marginally larger by .3 inches, the rest is gimmicky.

Much higher resolution cam - Pixels aren't everything, its horrid in low light. Gizmodo ran a comparison on 5 different phones, it wasn't the best.

Higher version of Android out of the box -doesn't really matter unless you are a rooter. Both phones have their own skin over android

Multiwindow tasking - HTC One does this, perhaps in a different fashion. I can mutlitask between 9 windows.

Faster chipset - marginally

Storage you can expand - who needs more than 64 gigs on their phone? HTC One has you covered. Not counting apps, HTC syncs and stores all of your stuff on its own iCloud like server.

Can replace your battery for a higher capacity one - Meh, overrated feature. The vast majority of people don't carry an extra battery on them everywhere they go.  My HTC one can go almost 2 days with my standard level of usage.

Thinner, lighter and smaller - plastic, less durable, marginally different in dimensions

HTC One

Dimensions 137.4 mm (5.41 in) H
68.2 mm (2.69 in) W
9.3 mm (0.37 in) D (max)
4 mm (0.16 in) D (min) Weight 143 g (5.0 oz)

Galaxy S4

Dimensions 136.6 mm (5.38 in) H
69.8 mm (2.75 in) W
7.9 mm (0.31 in) D Weight 130 g (4.6 oz)

A thermometer, barometer and what not - Weather app...

HTC One over SG4

Front speaker, FM - Correction, two front speakers and they are amazing. I haven't been this impressed with phone audio quality since my Blackberry 8900. FM? Meh again.. still requires the earphones for antenna as all phones that have this feature. iHeartRadio FTW.

Better looking aluminum body - More durable body at that.

Optical image stabilizer - I guess i just don't get too excited about cameras... but the instantaneous shutter compared to what i dealt with on iphone is pretty amazing.

Now thats a good phone. All these new features are horrible. Touchscreens? Screw that. I prefer the classics. ;)

lmao. At least new phones are something GG loves. XD

I remember my first nokia. I was 18. That phone weighed probably 8 pounds. I still have it too! XD

You can pick the things you want out of either phone, to suit your real-time needs or your argument. To me, one's a better phone and doesn't mean the other isn't a good phone which's why I give you pro's of both over themselves.

Next phone I buy will be an HTC or a Samsung. I will never buy a Motorola phone again. I specifically bought this phone because it was on sale, it had basically the same specs as the samsung galaxy at the time and it was guaranteed to be upgraded to the latest android operating system.
I never got that upgraded operating system. Android 2.3 is so outdated, that numerous apps are not even available for it. I cannot even run Google Chrome.. wtf. No Vine, no Time Warner app, etc. Numerous basic features on all phones are not available to me because I bought this phone with the belief that I'd only use the old operating system for another month or so. I remember when my brother's Nexus got upgraded to android 4.1, he was talking about how it was like a brand new phone again.. I was looking forward to this upgrade for so long.. and then my hopes were crushed.
Say no to Motorola. Don't even bother buying their crap, because its completely unsupported.

Now that I have this new phone, I have no idea how to use it. Anyone have any tips or tricks or favorite apps for the s4 or even any phone that uses the newest android OS?

Here is a video of Samsung's flexible screen tech from 2 years ago. Samsung, Sony and LG will all have flexible screens soon. This video was made before LG's flexible battery tech. Because there were no flexible batteries, there had to be a solid piece of the phone. Now the entire thing can be potentially flexible.

With how thin the screens can be, it might only be a matter of time before we have tablets that are the size of a standard 12 inch ruler that have screens that can be pulled / rolled out into full size.

The next interesting part is gesture control. All hands free control using ultrasound.

Combine these two techs and we'll have the next gen cell phones, tablets, laptops, TVs of the future.

The flexible screen tech got me thinking.. they could make clothing out of those screens. Imagine a camouflage suit made out of this display technology. With the proper use of numerous mini cameras the screens could display your surroundings all over the suit and blend you completely into any location.

Also, with screens that thin.. once they make them bigger and higher resolution, future TVs could be sold rolled up. Apply some double sided tape to your wall, unroll the tv and stick the screen in place. And with gesture control, we wouldn't need a camera built into the TV for smart app features.

Wow. Now that is a simple idea. Its basically a sticker/lense that attaches to your camera on your phone. Way beyond macro pictures.. I can imagine some amazing shots being taken with this.
