Variety is reporting that Legendary Pictures has signed Duncan Jones to direct the Live-action Warcraft movie. The only movie I've seen that Duncan Jones has directed was "Source Code" and I'm wondering if this director will make something that fans will enjoy. Its a shame Sam Raimi backed out while working on his Oz movie. I know not everyone is a fan of Sam Raimi, but I think he would have made something amazing out of Warcraft.1

I have no interest in WOW but damn, Duncan is an AMAZING director. Source Code was good but Moon was fantastic. UNFORTUNATELY, I'll now have to watch this.

I am putting myself to the fullest possible use, which is all I think that any conscious entity can ever hope to do.

I will be surprised it it ever happens,

WoW is still the number 1 mmo. But the game is past its half life, a movie of WoW calibre will take at least 2 years to make, In which WoW will be well into its next expansion and loosing even more subs

WoW fans will be less then and any non WoW fans will think it is a LoTR rip off, and will probably not watch it

So I will be suprised if it actually gets off the ground

Now if it was made CG, it would massively reduce costs on actors and sets, and there latest CG sequences are fantastic (SC2 trailer being an example)

considering the movie was announced years ago. with the game story is constantly changing, so the question will be how will the movie influence the game, will it be a retelling of Warcraft or anything up to current lore or a side story, too many questions and no answers is another reason why I have lil faith in this making it to production

You make some very valid points.

Unless the movie was going to be made on the scale of Avatar with special effects and some damn good battle scenes and/or war, a CG movie would actually make more sense at this point.

I just hope this movie will not turn out like the Dungeons & Dragons movies that were on the Syfy channel. :crap:

It was a fun movie, they didn't stay true to the games at all with most of the plot coming from the fourth game but overall it was good special effects and kept a good pace with plenty of action. Although it did feel toned down with gun fights considering the amount of shooting takes place in the games. I'm guessing they did that to keep the rating family friendly. Tom Holland still looked way too young for the role imo.

Very interesting. Spider-man, Doctor Strange and the multiverse. This should be a fun movie.

I wasn't that interested in this movie because its based in the past, but now that I've been sucked into Battlefield 1, this movie looks amazing. I know DICE likes to put easter eggs in their games so I wonder if we'll see an amazon warrior reference somewhere in a future dlc. On a side note, I thought we had a Wonder Woman topic already for the teaser trailer, but I didn't see one.

Awesome movie. I watched it a couple days ago. One of the best movies of 2020 for me. Very fun, energetic, great CGI and the monsters were all pretty damn cool and unique.

Warcraft III: Reforged came out this week and it looks like the internet is angry like it always is. I never played multiplayer/competitve with the game so it doesn't bother me, but I can understand the frustration people can have especially since it completely screws up the original game's servers.

I bought the Starcraft 1 remaster a couple black fridays ago for $7 and started playing it this week. I was expecting a bigger HD improvement but when I look back at the old SD version, it really is an improvement. Looking at Warcraft 3: Reforged, it looks like a good HD upgrade and thats all I thought it was going to be.
I think too many people thought this was going to be some giant completely new remake. They already did a remake before with Starcraft 1 and it looks pretty much just like the original game but all HD now. I'm planning on buying this and replaying WC3, but not at the current price tag. Maybe I'm being picky, but $30 for a game I already bought, played and beat years ago doesn't sound like a good price point to me.
