Atari 2600... old enough to remember?

4 posts in this topic

Who owned an Atari 2600? Who's even played Atari? If you're an old man like me, what where you're favorite games?!

Defender was my all time favorite... I didn't know what the hell was going on, but flying the ship and blasting lasers was so cool as a kid.

Yar's Revenge! That little line that followed you around and killed you if you let it touch you... UGH!! I had nightmares about that thing...

The Atari is what my old babysitter used to use to keep me occupied so didn't get into trouble XD (true story, once I got to her place she'd tell me to go play Atari)

Missile Command is by far the greatest game that ever came out for Atari. I used to sit and play that game for hours on end.

I also enjoyed Defender, Asteroids, and good old Space Invaders (this game never gets old, hell I still play flash versions of it when I'm bored).

I never owned any Atari, but my uncle owned the 2600 and owned every game for it. Space Invaders was my favorite, second would be Pitfall, then Defender and Combat:

Those games were tough as hell.

I am putting myself to the fullest possible use, which is all I think that any conscious entity can ever hope to do.

In a surprising move, Amazon has purchased Twitch, beating out the looming Google / YouTube acquisition.
This should be a good move for twitch. Amazon definitely has the hardware to support the site.

The mechanics look good, but I hope the co-op is the actual story mode and not a co-op zombie horde mode.. With the parkour in this game, I could see 4 players easily loosing track of where each other are in the frenzy of zombies.

      After reading: http://kotaku.com/5968952/the-knights-of-new-vegas-how-obsidian-survived-countless-catastrophes-and-made-some-of-the-coolest-role+playing-games-ever
I fully understand how KOTOR II got screwed over by time constraints. I'd like to see Obsidian get another shot at this.

At Sony's PS4 Launch event Bungie revealed that the beta for Destiny will be available for PS3 and PS4 first. As MS scores first access to DLC for COD and BF4 first, its apparent that Bungie is making a statement and MS cannot dish out enough cash for them to shy away from their new 3rd party territory in the PS4 user base.
