It's all cake

Think of religions like cake. On the outside it looks so appealing that you just have to have a piece. The frosting and piping and elaborate decorations are the things that particular religion shows off to the world. Beautiful architecture, holidays, ceremonies and messages of love and peace. Some people window shop before they pick a cake, but most eat their parent's cake during childhood and get used to eating that particular cake and are satisfied with it. You didn't bake the cake so you aren't going to know what ingredients went into the cake unless you look at the recipe. Some people need to know what they're eating because some things are toxic to them, some people want to know what they're eating so they can choose what goes in their body, some people don't care what the cake is made of. The recipe for your religion cake is the religions holy text and history. Some people look at the recipe and reject the cake, some people decide to only lick the frosting, and some people shovel the cake in their face anyway. The health nut who looks at the recipes and concludes All cake is full of seriously bad shit! is the anti-theist. The frosting lickers are your moderates. They want the pretty and the sweet, they deliberately fill up on frosting before they get to the cake so they eat less of it. They don't like all the ingredients so they're selective about the bites they take. The one shoveling it in like Goku at a buffet is your fundamentalist. They know their cake has some hard core shit in it, but its the best and everyone should eat it! The problem with cake is it has the potential to make you sick. Someone with a peanut/genocide allergy isn't going to dive into that cake. Over eating or excessive amounts of cake over time can have negative health consequences. It could lead to diabetes/ a defective set of morals.

They are your people

I am sick of seeing this ignorance passed around like its a good thing. It is not. Religious moderates cherry pick their scriptures. Religious moderates provide the platform for so called extremists (those that take scripture literally) to stand up on,*Ours is a religion of peace* They are the shield the nutters hide behind *We're not all like that*. Moderates accept no responsibility for the actions of their kind abusing, raping and killing in the name of or under the protection of their religion. The religious patron continues to give money/time/credibility to organizations that continuously abuse and kill women, children, homosexuals and the enemies of their deity. It is gross disassociation to say "Well that guy was of my religion and did bad shit because of my religion but we're not all like that our religion is great." I know not every Jesus believer is WBC I know not all Muslims want to blow shit up. The problem is that the normal people and the crazy people are getting their beliefs and morals from the SAME fucking source, they are worshiping the SAME bloodthirsty god, they will all be together in their afterlife scenario. Those fucking nuts are your people literally representing your religion and your holy texts. You are them -no matter how liberally you take religion yourself- you are them, they exist because you support the religion and allow it to continue even indoctrinating your own children! fuck you grow up and look at this shit like an adult

Ignorant Assholes

I dislike people pushing their religion into secular causes, especially when religion is a main cause of the problem. One of the gay rights activist pages I support posted an image with a cross in front of the equal sign. All the self proclaimed Christians responded with praise. I wanted to puke. It is religion, their holy scriptures that are the primary force for inequality for the gay community. People who claim to be Christian and do not follow their scriptures aren't, they're cherry pickers monopolizing on horrific mythology. I said nothing, I want to respect people with whom I fight the good fight, but the posting admin and commenters are forever diminished in my eyes. They flashed their ignorance like a dick in public and were ever so thrilled to do so. Puketastick. Thankfully one of the A pages was able to counter the image later yes much better The uh um duh didn't end there. An animal rights group posted an image with some gods creatures bullshit, a pic of the very same animals the Jews slaughtered for paint. Yeah god loves animals especially with their throats slit. Hello Stupidtown, reality calling. And just to be a freak some asshole calls The Talking Dead and starts reading Bible passages. For fucks sake really? Is there NOTHING that can be free of religious assholes??? A motherfucking zombie show and the Christholes gotta jump in on that shit. All you ignorant fucks go read a science or history book, better yet both. Fuck you have a shitty day.

Dodge's big Super Bowl fumble

http://youtu.be/sillEgUHGC4 There, now you've seen it too. I tried three times to watch it and couldn't get to the end, finally this morning I read the transcript to get through it. Again I was struck by how religion poisons everything. The body of the piece is homage to the hard work and rugged lives of those that put our food on our tables and its lovely. I worked dairy farms the latter half of my teens and I know the work that goes into the milk you pour over your cereal. Farmers should be saluted for the role they play in our society. The thing is; not all farmers believe in the Christian god, some of them accept evolution is how we got here. To suggest to them that they were created to live a hard life shows the cruelty of your god. To suggest they didn't choose to be farmers, that it was part of a plan, diminishes the individual that made the choice to work to feed others. What could have been inspiring was insulting to about one in five Americans. Those 18 yrs old or over identifying as nones has reached 17.8% of our population and continues to rise. Beating folks over the head with gawd may not be the most intelligent advertising move, unless of course you don't want the business of the sect you're isolating; in that case preach away, but you will be lost in the channel surf and never see their money line your pockets. Promoting creationism isn't helpful in a country struggling to keep up in the academic, scientific, technological, medical etc world. We need scientifically literate people to inherit this country to deal with the mismanagement of our resources and the health and safety of our people. Let's try this another way, putting the power where it really belongs. We the People looked upon our beautiful country and said, We need a caretaker." So some Americans embraced the challenge and became farmers. We the people said said, "I need somebody willing to get up before dawn, milk cows, work all day in the field, milk cows again, eat supper, then go to town and stay past midnight at a meeting of the school board." So caring Americans became farmers. We the People said, "I need somebody willing to sit up all night with a newborn colt and watch it die, then dry his eyes and say,'Maybe next year,' I need somebody who can shape an ax handle from an ash tree, shoe a horse with hunk of car tire, who can make a harness out hay wire, feed sacks and shoe scraps. Who, during planting time and harvest season will finish his 40-hour week by Tuesday noon and then, paining from tractor back, put in another 72 hours." So resilient Americans became farmers. We the People said, "I need somebody strong enough to clear trees and heave bales, yet gentle enough to yean lambs and wean pigs and tend the pink-comb pullets, who will stop his mower for an hour to splint the leg of a meadowlark." It had to be somebody who'd plow deep and straight and not cut corners. Somebody to seed, weed, feed, breed, and brake, and disk, and plow, and plant, and tie the fleece and strain the milk, . Somebody who'd bale a family together with the soft, strong bonds of sharing, who would laugh, and then sigh and then reply with smiling eyes when his son says that he wants to spend his life doing what Dad does. "So some American families become farmers." Much nicer when you give back the power to the people who choose a career in agriculture because they want to feed you. See, no deity required.

Richard Dawkins: Faith

Surrounded by a puzzling and often frightening world, people from almost every culture have come to trust in the improvable and supernatural. Here Richard Dawkins remembers when he broke with this pattern and became an atheist. http://youtu.be/Sm220Q5wks4 sadly I must put my faith in humanity and hope that there is enough good in our species to keep us going

Last Spring was an anime season of epicness. This season is of charm and adorableness. Meiji Tokyo Renka, My Roommate is a Cat, The Quintessential Quintuplets, and ENDRO have all captured my heart and they're not even my favorites this season. I'll def have my work cut out for me doing a full review at the end.

I finally passed the anime in the AoT manga. This next half of season 3 is probably going to end before they explain everything, where the titans came from, the world outside the walls, and how everything happened. It's interesting, but I feel like it makes the series lose a major component which was the mystery of why anything was happening. The anime is about to get as intense as season 1 was, but after that I can see people getting bored with the next season unless the really fly through this section of explanations. I don't think they will though because the anime has been the manga verbatim.

Totally hyped for the new expansion for FFXIV, Shadowbringers, after this mornings announcements at the Fan Fest in Paris. We're getting a 24-man raid devoted to Nier called YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse and Yoko Taro is overseeing its creation, fucking sweet. It's supposed to further the Nier story as well (and if the concept art is to be believed it's sometime after the Automata storyline).
Say what you will about FFXIV but god damn do we get some awesome shit due to Square-Enix properties and their connections. I just fucking hope I can finally get my 2B glamour I've been wanting for my character. This just mean I need to quit being lazy and beat Automata before October (when this should probably launch since the expansion comes out in July).

I'll pass on a review of the Fall simuldub lineup. Mostly because everything I like is bleeding into the new season minus SSSS.Gridman, ZOMBIE LAND SAGA, and Goblin Slayer. There rest was underwhelming, absolute trash, or not dubbed. As someone that enjoys a fanservice fest now and then, I don't get the appeal of SENRAN KAGURA, After 3 eps, I was like "holy shit this is so bad". I guess because it tries to be so serious. Anyways, I watched the first ep of Magical Girl Spec Ops, and it was pretty awesome. I think this is closer to what I was expecting from Raising Project. Seeing a magical girl slice up a bunch of people with a karambit was pretty awesome. Boogiepop and Others is interesting so far so I'll stick with it. Still waiting for Mob Psycho 100 season 2 to start the dub, and I guess I'll ride the hype train for The Rising of the Shield Hero when it starts.
