Comcast buys NBCUniversal... owns half of cable programing.

Last year Comcast Corporation purchased 51% of NBC Universal, today they have purchased the rest of it from GE for $16.7 Billion. Comcast will also own a 31% stake in Hulu to go along with the huge acquisitions under the NBCU umbrella like SyFy, USA, Bravo, and E!. One has to question how this is even legal for a cable company to own major programing networks, and how it could affect their competitors.

Here is a full list of NBCUniversal divisions:

NBC News

Chiller

CNBC

MSNBC

iVillage

Mun2

Cloo

G4 (Esquire)

NBC Sports

Universal Pictures

Universal Parks & Resorts

E!

SyFy

Telemundo

Bravo

DailyCandy

Golf Channel

Sprout

Oxygen

USA

Fandango

The Weather Channel

Focus Features

UPC

Style

So if they own NBC Universal does that mean they can then make the channels exclusive to themselves?

If So I have no issue with Time Warner taking this as a major blow or even how this could affect the ratings to shows produced by the WWE.

That is some bullshit right there. One company should not own half the media in the country. Seeing as comcast is a cable provider as well as content provider this screams monopoly to me.

I would assume they could, if not for outstanding contracts for those channels. Time Warner has their own http://ynn.com/ YNN network which is a Time Warner exclusive news channel owned by time warner.

The new firefox update is amazing. It feels a lot faster even if it does look like a Windows 95 program.

I've been watching this Comet channel nightly for the last couple weeks. I love this channel now. Its what syfy used to be. Its all scifi re-runs. I've been watching Andromeda, Stargate Atlantis and the 1995 Outer Limits series. Most of these shows are in SD, but adjusted to HD. Looks horrible up close but from a distance and while watching in bed its just like the old days. lol. And they have a whole bunch of b movies.   http://www.comettv.com/schedule/

Super Mario Odyssey comes out Friday. I'm pretty excited as it will be the first Mario game I've played since Sunshine. But Stranger Things also comes out that day, and I'm going to see Jigsaw that night. too much shit happening at once. X_X

My right joystick on my Cinch PS4 controller is going bad. It doesn't register right turns very well. I think it has something to do with me taking it apart after the charge port fell into the controller. Part of that is my fault for being spoiled by USB-C and not checking if its in the correct orientation. It lasted me a good year and a half. I'm too spoiled to go back to a regular controller so I ordered another one.

PSN is having a sale. I picked up the latest TWD telltale game and BF1 premium is finally on sale for $25. I got that to. I'll be playing some more bf1 over the next couple weeks. Some footage from the newest dlc is looking pretty good.
