Hmmm, I just don't know about this. Trailer looks good but I hate the new look for Robocop, I'm sorry black just does not work. I guess I'll have to reserve judgement till it comes out but I honestly don't think I'll be going to see this in theaters.

From the way they have the trailer. I assume he will be in black the last part of the film... the "final showdown" at least. He probably gets jacked up somehow by the man antagonist and they have to repair him and make him better in cliche like fashion.

"This film is not yet rated" but its already been stated to be PG-13 instead of R.

I'm still skipping this because of that & the generic black armor.

....

Hmm....

Now I want to see yellow spandex for no real reason beside it not being some generic black outfit.

I think back is the better colour for what he is,

Black is a colour associated with tactical squads / special divisions of law enforcement like SWAT.

H now seems more cyborg then robot, which i think will be peoples biggest gripe

Alex died, and was re-animated as a cyborg, more machine then man, and learnt humanity again

this take seems to be more cyborg, that is essentially an augmented human, human feelings with a programmable body,

Personally i don't think the film needed to be remade, but that doesn't mean it will suck,. it will be entertaining at least.

I look forward to it,

Back when robocop was made in the 80's people could barly fathom the idea of touch screen, 3d imagining or even flat screens.

I am curious to the take of the future this film will have.

Personally I think he should be more mobile, stronger faster and smarter. Why does he need 3 inch layers of steel to be bullet proof when new compounds of metal can be 5mm thick and more resistant,

Less walking tank more walking arsenal.  :)

I'll go see it.

Wish it wasn't PG-13 and was R, like Dredd which was fun even though it was like The Raid.

Combat armor's black the silver one. Stealth is black.

Big difference in plot is how he dies and how that affects the character and the movie's intent. In the original, Murphy is tortured, shot at, and eventually murdered with a bullet to the head. He was a cop all this while. Traumatic. As Robocop he suffers PTSD and that shows the human element and depth in his character.

In the new movie, he's home chilling and his car explodes. Looks like the company did that to him on purpose to experiment on him, maybe he gets back to them when he finds out they did this to him and probably other cops who've been experimented on/ died in the process and he seeks revenge.

I'm guessing they needed to change his transformation to fit the new plot. If anything, I think thats good, because how they did the first Robocop was great, just like Pchan described. If they tried to recreate that traumatic experience and didn't accomplish it, the reboot would be a failure.

Very good point. Its more like hes a super soldier as opposed to being a robotic cop. The fact that he retains a human hand really emphasizes his humanity over machinery to me.

The whole problem with black though is its an over used color scheme. Even worse when it replaces the original color schemes that would've stood out more.

We can't have a Blue, Gray, &/or  Yellow outfit Batman.... Nope we can only get black outfit Batman.

We couldn't (originally) have the X-Men in Blue & Yellow or any of their original color schemed outfits. Just a bunch of Black Leather Suits.

And forbid that no one in The Matrix not remind us of The Trench Coat Mafia.

So having Robocop follow along with this doesn't sit well with me at all. Even if someone were to label this as practical the whole point of any of these (Super) Heroes isn't to really be practical in the first place.

If they were practical

Superman would wear all black as black absorbs heat from sunlight more easily.

Spider-Man fighting at night would have an all black outfit with a hard to see Spider Logo if there was a Spider Logo at all.

Tony Stark would have remotely controlled his new Iron-Man suits in every situations.

Thor would have never been cast out of Asgard because this time around he was too practical to get into trouble.

Any Super Hero (or Villain) wearing the colors of their country as their color scheme would be replaced by camouflage.

Kick Ass, Big Daddy, & Hit Girl would have easily been replace by SWAT Teams.

Even being "Practical" by using Military Forces in movies has caused movies to probably be less exciting then they could have been.

Godzilla 1998 (even though my favorite looking Godzilla) suffered from the use of Military Forces. They should've gone with a Mecha Godzilla 1998. That could have been a much better movie.

Cloverfield suffered from similar problems but with the added annoyance of a bunch of pricks from a party.

Michael Bay's Transformers.... Yeesh.... The Military Forces Had / Has the ability to destroy Decepticons without the need for Autobots to be there.

Maybe that's why we can't get a Gundam movie on the big screen. Someone is going to want it to be practical. RX-78-2 (If that's the Gundam they use) wouldn't be able to have its color scheme or its roll out color scheme. It would have to have either a camouflage color on earth or be black since that's basically the camouflage color of space. Then they would probably change it to a Mobile Armor since a Mobile Suit isn't as practical. By the time it was done making practical changes it would be like the Battleship movie.

No wonder I had the urge to defend Pacific Rim. Pacific Rim being impractical is what made it fun.

So once this Practical Robocop comes out I honestly & hopefully expect it to bomb. Because practicality is what ruins these (super hero like) movies.

I wouldn't necessarily call it Somewhat Practical, but more along the lines that it would be impossible for most (if not all) real humans to pull off wearing tights with enough muscle mass to be on steroids & still be able to act.

The only characters that can pull off wearing tights IMO is probably Spider-Man, Superman, & anyone else who looked lean while wearing tights. Because those characters never needed massive muscles to define who they are in any shape or form.

If Marvel ever gets X-Men back I would only expect their outfits get the same quality of treatment like Captain America's outfit did in Avengers.

Yes. Thats more of what I was thinking too. Another costume upgrade over tights occurred in the old Power Rangers movie. They kept the general design and colors of the power rangers outfits, but instead of having a bunch of people running around in tights, they were upgraded to a kind of plastic storm trooperish armor. I'd have rather seen that or a captain america style outfit for the x-men instead of black leather.

Red hurts my eyes.

HOLY SHIT, it worked! ALL BLACK! Can that be done where I can pick the background colors or a theme?

No. Its not an option with our current setup. The only theme that strips away all colors and fonts is the mobile theme.

A lot of people are bitching its going to be PG-13... seriously... things that were rated R in the 80s and 90s are PG-13 today and it doesn't really enhance the movie any more or less based on these two ratings. The original had nudity in it... the new one wont but all the violence will be intact and that's what everyone cares about. People can be so ignorant. R rated films are reserved for heavy sexual themes and horror flicks with excessive gore. What excessive gore is now is way more extreme than back then.

http://www.mpaa.org/ratings/what-each-rating-means

As long as the movie isn't "Extreme Violence" then just about any action movie with murder and killing can be a PG-13 movie now. Hell.. look at Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead.. those are on basic cable and both of these series would have been completely unacceptable on TV when I was a kid. If they were movies, they'd have been R rated and probably petitioned against for their excessive gore back in the day.

As far as I'm concerned R rated movies now a days either include sexually related nudity or excessive gore like Evil Dead and Saw. Kids watch The Walking Dead.. I've seen twitter pictures of kid's drawings of Daryl killing walkers. If children watch Walking Dead and then make crayola drawings of it, then the rating scales of tv shows and movies are all completely off anyway.

I don't know, something still bugs me about this RoboCop. Don't get me wrong I'm liking the action sequences in the trailers but I just don't like this RoboCop, the black just turns me off of this design and what they're doing with the character just bugs me.

Then again I didn't think I'd like the new Dredd movie but I ended up loving it so maybe I'll like this.

After watching that trailer, his human hand seems like it would be his biggest weakness. Considering how heavy his body is and the acrobatic maneuvers he was doing, I don't see how his human hand could withstand the weight and impact of everything that was going on.

I had mixed feelings about the new Dredd movie. I finally watched it a couple months ago and all the slow motion scenes seemed almost unnecessary. Sure the drug was causing that affect and in some use of it made sense. Other than that, it was a good dark action movie. I never read any of the comics and I've seen the previous Dredd movie.. The Stallone version must have been way off from the comics compared to the new movie. Drastically different compared to Stallone's Dredd.

I've been getting ready for spring for the last couple months and its taken up a crazy amount of my free time. We expanded our garden to be really huge last september in preparation for growing fruit and veggies. Then we decided to expand it another 6 more feet in one direction which we finally got finished last weekend. It was alot of work because our garden has an almost 6 foot tall deer fence all around it. We hammered in u-posts into the ground and attached the deer net and buried the bottom of the net so nothing will burrow under it. I should do measurements at some point to figure out its total volume. Its huge. lol.
We have 3 apple trees, 3 cherry trees, and 1 nectarine tree in there. We still have to move 3 of those trees into their permanent locations (they are only 1 or 2 year old trees so its still possible to dig them up) and we have to plant a new apricot tree in there. I prepped the two rows for veggies last month but theres alot of weed whacking to do still and plants to move. We have 4 grape vines, 4 blueberry bushes and multiple raspberry plants to move. I started a bunch of veggies from seed and those tomatoes are still in an unused bath tub in my house with a light over them getting bigger every day. I'm looking forward to getting everything planted and done so all this gardening can give me a break.

Well my dryer broke after about 15 years and multiple repairs I've done over those years. I had to buy a new dryer. So far so good. I was finally able to get my laundry done again and my bathroom no longer smells like dirty socks and febreeze.

FML my pressure tank is failing for my well. Its getting replaced next week. Getting a new whole house water filter installed too along with some new valves and safety upgrades. Props to the well company employee for giving me the tip of hooking up an air compressor to the pressure tank to put some air in the bladder to get the system gimping along until the repair work is done. I miss public water. lol.

This has been a busy summer. I'm almost looking forward to winter so I can get a break from all the lawn mowing and outside projects. Hopefully the snow blower I bought this year works good so I'll have alot of free time this winter to get caught up on things. When I've had free time I've been playing Final Fantasy X over the last 5 months and I've somehow finally hit 100 hours on it. Lol. Only took me about half a year.  I still didn't beat it yet but I'm at the end game stuff now with the monster arena and omega ruins.
