Last year, we shipped a software feature called Big Picture, a user-interface tailored for televisions and gamepads.

This year we’ve been working on even more ways to connect the dots for customers who want Steam in the living-room.

Soon, we’ll be adding you to our design process, so that you can help us shape the future of Steam.

Last week Gabe Newell Said Linux Is The Future Of Gaming at LinuxCon. Which was basically followed by the above website.

But I bet all of this is pointing to Half-Life 4 being confirmed! (You can tell because there's 4 circles.) The one that skipped three! And they'll cast Gordon Freeman's voice actor to be Patrick Stewart!

Although if it is a Steam Box (& said Steam Box is an actual PC) I'll probably cancel my PS4 preorder.

Part One: SteamOS Announced

http://store.steampowered.com/livingroom/SteamOS/

As we’ve been working on bringing Steam to the living room, we’ve come to the conclusion that the

environment best suited to delivering value to customers is an operating system built around Steam itself.

SteamOS combines the rock-solid architecture of Linux with a gaming experience built for the big screen.

It will be available soon as a free stand-alone operating system for living room machines.

If they ship some steam machines with Intel graphics hardware, expect those ones to be the cheapest.. and exactly what I don't want. lol. While I can play all the games I own on steam on my HD 3000 intel graphics, all the high action and FPS type games must be played on the lowest settings and still might lag or have issues.

I've noticed people bashing intel in the comments section. lol. I'd probably stick with nVidia since I know what each level of card produces. AMD would be my second choice.

I think I'll like the controller. With the right customized settings, it looks like it could be very accurate.

The biggest problem with the Intel HD graphics is that almost no game company even attempts to get their games configured for it. Its one of the most common integrated graphics in a laptop and game companies treat it like its the Nintendo Wii. If it works, good.. if not they don't support it.

I agree. A simple box style would be easy to open and put a new video card in. I was worried it was going to be half and inch thick and over heat easily. Then again it is the beta version, maybe this is the equivilant of a developer kit in terms of size and design.

Ordered some Corsair Void Pro headphones for Prime Day. I've been putting off a new headset for PC for way too long. I have my cord duct taped and wires are coming out of the ear pieces. Its hard to give this headset up because its lasted me 15-16 years. Its just some cheap ass standard Microsoft headphones i bought at target years and years ago. The ear cushions look like cloth because the fake leather coating all fell off or deteriorated. Even with all the wires falling apart, it still works without a hitch. I don't really need turtles for PC, but the Corsair's were on a pretty decent discount, so I went with it.

So I finished watching the first season of My Hero Academia tonight and you were right DX I absolutely love the show. I think most of that has to do with my absolute adoration for All Might but I could be wrong (but I'm sure I'm not, you can't hate the man he's just fucking perfect).
Gotta say for a shounen series it certainly has a lot going for it. Great humor, awesome character development and characters , a good story (I only say good for now as it's only S1 that I've finished, I hear it gets a lot better), and a pretty kick ass soundtrack. Not going to say I don't have any problems with the show (it suffers from some of the things I hate about shounen series) but those are greatly overshadowed by everything I said before.
I'm honestly looking forward to starting S2 tomorrow (thank god I'm on vacation) and hopefully starting S3 before I go back to work (if I don't get lost in the myriad of other things I have to do this week).

I completed my 6th world completion on Guild Wars 2. It will probably be my last. Mounts definitely made this one much easier to complete, but it still wasn't much fun. My first two runs were done the old school way with WvW map requirements. My third, forth, and fifth were done post HoT with gliding, and elite specs providing me with more mobility and power. This last one took less than half the time, but the hearts are so tedious, it's too much. The Beetle is cool for zipping around the map and unfogging everything. You may pick up a few WP and POI along the way, but if you were to move from heart to heart, half the time you'd just get your boost meter full and you'd be at your destination already. The raptor is still the best for these scenarios. The best thing the Beetle is for is getting to an event fast before it completes. Also the skimmer made maps dominated by lakes and ocean so much faster. With 10 gifts of Exploration, I doubt I'll ever grind out the Gift of Mastery track 10 times to go with it. I kind of wish I would have bought more than I did before that change occurred.

My router shat out on me today and screwed me for over an hour as I thought it was my internet. My power went out and after it came back on my router started freaking out and will only stay connected for 5 seconds at a time and then go down again for 4-5 minutes. I hooked up my old back up router in the meantime. Now I have to call up the support line tomorrow and see if Tenda will honor their warranty. I ordered a TP-Link router off amazon a little while ago for a cheap $59 on sale. It seems decent enough and I've never had any issues with TP-Link before.
