Saints Row: Gat Out Of Hell

Myk JL

Aside from Dane Vogel the following I hope show up are.

  1. Mr. Sunshine - Preferably referencing Montezuma from Robot Chicken. But that most likely won't happen. Revenge!.... Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!
  2. Dex - He died between Saints Row 2 & Saints Row: The Third in a game that was scrapped. Assuming he's dead despite that game being scrapped I want to see him in it.
  3. Philip Loren - His death was too fast. I would've preferred something more memorable.
  4. Shogo Akuji - Just so Gat could beat the crap out of him again.
  5. Jyunichi - Almost the same reason as Shogo.
  6. Matt from The Feed Dogs - He was too easily killed by a brick.
  7. Josh Birk - He should be there just for being a bad actor.
  8. Oleg Kirrlov - Despite being one of my favorite Third Street Saints he did have a shady past that wasn't delved into.
  9. Tobias - Assuming he died from the earth being destroyed. Also Brandon Keener is same voice actor who did Garrus from Mass Effect.
  10. Laura - Tobias's Wife.
  11. Jessica - Okay I don't need any closure since the trunk was already closed....
  12. The General - I found his death underwhelming.
  13. Maero - Well he doesn't need to show up. Michael Dorn is still awesome though.
  14. Kazuo Akuji - Actually I hope he isn't dead. His last words in Saints Row 2 were "When I escape The World will not be big enough for you to hide in!"

I don't have any listed from the first Saints Row because I've been too lazy to finish it....

I'm not surprised they made another DLC for SR4, but I am surprised that its going to be sold as a standalone game for $19.99 unless you get it in the ultimate editions for the new consoles. It does look fun. I hope they actually stop making DLC for this game tho so I can eventually get a complete edition.

I'm pretty certain Volition is done making DLC for SR4. Unless you were referring to the PS4 / Xbox One versions. In which case I could imagine Gat Out Of Hell would have its own DLC. Which would mean a Saints Row IV: Re-Elected + Gat Out of Hell Complete Edition. Though I wouldn't be surprised if the PS4 / Xbox One versions had SR4 & Gat Out Of Hell come on 2 separate Blu Rays.

This isn't the first time Volition has tried to make a standalone Saints Row game without a number at the end. But this may be the first time they'll hopefully succeed. There was also Saints Row: Money Shot where you would've gotten to kill Dex if it wasn't cancelled. And Saints Row: Enter The Dominatrix which would've been a $30 if THQ's Jason Rubin didn't force it to become SR4.

SR Gat out of Hell is following the lead of "Assassin's Creed Freedom Cry", "Infamous First Light" and "Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes" and instead of being a more expensive DLC they made them all standalone games, probably to exclude them from game of the year and legendary / complete additions. I hope more games do not do this. If all campaign DLC turns into 'standalone games' then it'll be annoying as hell and be an even bigger money grab than normal DLC. I doubt anyone that doesn't own the actual initial games would ever buy the standalone games by themselves.. which would make them regular DLCs IMO. And the MGS Ground Zeroes is basically a standalone DLC that is being sold before the actual game even comes out just to create hype for the game. Thats just ridiculous.

Leave it to GameStop to take away from my excitement from buying a game by adding preorder DLC. I still preordered it for PS3 from them. One of these days Steam Machine will magically exist! Where future Saints Row & Elder Scrolls Games will magically work on it! And I will never go to GameStop again! Until then here's an interesting trailer from Gat Out Of Hell.

I finally got it today and.... I find it okay.

Part of it feels like a downer because there isn't even vehicle customization as far as I can tell. The other part being right on the box it says "First Edition" which makes me wonder if there's a second edition coming on a different disc or whatever.

If this game didn't release on the PS3 I probably wouldn't have preordered it.

Also the super sprint is weaker in that you won't be knocking cars over when you start.

off-topic
I finally preordered ESO for PS4 even though I don't own a PS4 or HDTV yet.

Holy cow there seems to be a subscription crate for everything now. AC Filters, Clothes, Bras, Candy, etc. I actually just signed up for Umai Crate. It seems to be the most unique and best value. Its just a box full of different Japanese instant ramens. I'll report if its any better than the cheap shitty ramen you can get at the grocery store. For $25 a month, the box seems to be full of 7-9 bags/boxes/cups of various types. If I'm not impressed with the first box, I'll cancel it and feel like it was worth trying something interesting. I watched a few youtube unboxings and taste tests and it seems to be pretty well received, even in the comments on their facebook posts. I recently had authentic ramen at a local hole in the wall and it was amazing. I always thought ramen was just that shitty Nissin stuff. Some of the videos I watched, its def a little more complex than just pouring hot water into noodles and a tiny spice packet. Some of them have multiple packets to enter in before and after water is added. And apparently there are suggested fresh add ons you can buy separately at the grocery store. Things you obviously can't dehydrate like hard boiled eggs.

Being in the grocery business for over a decade and a half you see a lot of product flops, successes, bait & switches, and other flat out BS. In one year I watched Kellogg's decrease the size of their cereal box contents by .5oz-3oz multiple times. They kept the box height the same and made them marginally slimmer each time to make it less noticeable. When Eternal water first hit the shelves it was from "Natural Springs in Norway". One day a coworker noticed it tasted different, and then noticed the bottle now said "From a municipal water source in California". I've seen Edy's Ice Cream downsize their containers, and then return them to the old size a year later calling it "Now 20% more!" Nah, you just gave back what you took. The biggest scam of the century is Halo Top ice cream and everyone that's copying it. Halo Top is just jet puffed ice cream. Breyers makes their version, and now Ben & Jerry's is going to make their line of it. You're paying for deceptive portion control. The only reason they are "low calorie" is because there is less ice cream in the cup. Since a pint is by volume and not by actual weight, most people fall for the this trick. You're paying the same, if not more money for the ice cream version of a bag of chips half filled with air. Don't support this crap. Just get regular ice cream and eat less per serving. On a final note, Breyers doesn't even call their product ice cream anymore. Its "Frozen Dairy Dessert". WTF I'm glad I have access to Blue Bell. Its still a half gallon, and its still ice cream. http://www.mouseprint.org/2013/01/21/breyers-converts-ice-creams-to-frozen-dairy-desserts/

I've owned 3 cars now. My first car was a 1993 Nissan Maxima. It had 110k miles on it and it served me well until 215k miles. An alternator and a break hose were the only major repairs I've ever had to have done on it. Then I got a 2004 Mazda3 which also served me well from 11k miles to 80k miles, a fuel purge sensor was the only major repair I ever had to do on it. I'd still have it if some kid didn't pull out in front of my and total it. With the insurance check I should have just put a nice down payment on a brand new car... but at the time I didn't want a car note so I got the only thing I could find... a 2004 Ford Mustang. It had less miles than my Mazda so I figured it was like I just had this car all along since it was the same year. Wrong, its been the biggest POS I've ever owned. I've had to have the power steering pump replaced twice, major exhaust work twice, serpentine belt, entire ABS system, read axle, front calipers, CV joint, motor fan, and the transmission that was put in to replace the already busted on they tried to sell the car with, is about to go out again... to top it all off the paint just started crumbling off the car and now its rusting. I bought it with 65k miles and now it has 116k miles. Now that my college loan is almost finally paid off, I'm looking to get a brand new Honda Civic or VW Golf. The Civic is a car I've always wanted since wanting a car, but the Golf is very nice and has more horsepower. I'll never buy another ford car again. I remember when my exhaust system basically fell off the car because the manifold cracked... the muffler shop I went to basically said "Yeah this is pretty common at 90k miles for this car" which I was pretty much at... wtf. Screw Ford. I've never had so many catastrophic failures with a vehicle.

I'm sick of winter. This crap needs to end. Another day of driving on snow/ice covered roads in zero degree temps that are so cold the rock salt wont melt anything. Its like every road is made of gravel and my car is bouncing all over the place. At least the tall hill roads are getting treated with strong as hell rock salt of a different blend to ensure melting and to prevent accidents. But all other streets are complete ass to drive on.
