Destiny Beta hits Sony Platforms First.

DeathscytheX

At Sony's PS4 Launch event Bungie revealed that the beta for Destiny will be available for PS3 and PS4 first. As MS scores first access to DLC for COD and BF4 first, its apparent that Bungie is making a statement and MS cannot dish out enough cash for them to shy away from their new 3rd party territory in the PS4 user base.

Thats good. I've only finished the first section of BL1 and I had no problems soloing it. I'm just glad the game doesn't force you to play with others, especially considering its only meant to be played with a few people if co-oped. This got me thinking about Fuse again. It was an interesting game, and from what I saw it was always 4 player co-op. If no friend was playing, then the other 3 players would be AI. Wasn't Left 4 Dead like that too?

L4D has a single player mode where you play with 3 bots and you take way less damage because the bots are very stupid and clumsy. A co-op game required at least 1 other person, but bots would always operate the other 2 players.

As long as the bots are good enough that you can actually beat the game, then I'll be pleased. Unlike Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime.. it had the dumbest AI I have ever seen. The game is unbeatable with those crappy bots.

You talking about L4D? XD Sometimes its not beatable with 4 players. Even on normal difficultly it can get hairy at times, thats why It didn't come with many chapters... kinda like PAYDAY: The Heist. The games difficulty is what keeps you coming back for more to beat it. Both games randomly place items and situational focus points for a scenario. Sometimes they work to your advantage, sometimes it puts you at an incredible disadvantage. On L4D, a part of that is the thrill of wondering where the Witch is going to be placed.... sometimes she ends up in a location where you cant avoid her at all, and if everyone is out of medpacs and low on health it sucks, especially if a swarm is about to come.

Losing a mission on L4D isn't as frustrating as it is on BF3 Spec-Ops... Its so much less tactical and fun to play through every time.

It sounds enjoyable. At least its a mission that can be beaten, unlike the zombie mode of Black Ops 2.. It was fun at first, but its never ending hordes and there is no goal or mission to beat. Just play until you die.. it got boring pretty quick.

Oh and sometimes the witch is spawned right in front of the safe room that ends the chapter... XD Thats always fun especially if you are the last one standing and everyone is relying on you for the win.... even with a med pac the witch is more deadly than the tank as she is impossible to run away from.

I guess they toned it down... that sucks... takes the horror out of it.

Man, nothing was scarier than the witch because if even one person pissed her off she was coming after everyone.. guns were blazing hoping someone could take her down before everyone got incapacitated XD... it did suck with only 2 people because the bots would just try to revive you while she rampaged and they'd go down too...

Lmao. Bots reviving people is the biggest problem with AI in games. That Ghostbusters Sanctum of Slime was horrible with reviving. Instead of clearing out the last couple enemies in a room, they'll stop what they are doing to revive the other bot.. then that bot dies.. then I start reviving one of them only to have the last remaining bot run from the other side of the screen to start reviving the same guy I'm reviving, even though he passed another dead bot. Stupid bots. There are some rooms where enemies will spill out of 3 or 4 spots.. do the AI stand in those spots to instant kill the enemies? Nooo.. instead they walk around attacking randomly, activating more enemie spawning.

The nice thing about Fuse was as soon as you die, you can swap over to the bot and take over. I'd like to see that as a more common option in games, especially for single player bot assisted campaigns.

PAYDAY does something interesting with bots. The AI controlled players seem to have 6 times more health than real players. They don't contribute much other than being able to revive you when you just getting blasted by constant gunfire. They'll take out a specialist every now and then but other than that, they are pretty useless.

At least they can stay alive long enough to revive. x_x

One of the best AIs I have seen is on StarCraft. I can play a multiplayer match, team up with a friend, an AI team mate and play against a couple other bots. These bots know what they are doing. If I set 3 bots on medium difficulty they make me feel like a newb. Even the AI teammate makes my play style look like crap. lol. I'll be in the process of building up some ground forces and my AI buddy already has tanks and aircraft, is attacking an enemy stronghold and helping fortify my base. wtf.

Halo as a multilayer competitive FPS was never that great to me, but as a co-op PVE game it could be amazing. Halo's solo campaigns were awesome and epic, and the last games' Spartan Ops was pretty cool. I think Bungie found their true calling with Destiny. I remember playing Halo 3's campaign on co-op and having an absolute blast with friends. I hope they keep similar physics as far as gravity and movement goes.

I've been getting ready for spring for the last couple months and its taken up a crazy amount of my free time. We expanded our garden to be really huge last september in preparation for growing fruit and veggies. Then we decided to expand it another 6 more feet in one direction which we finally got finished last weekend. It was alot of work because our garden has an almost 6 foot tall deer fence all around it. We hammered in u-posts into the ground and attached the deer net and buried the bottom of the net so nothing will burrow under it. I should do measurements at some point to figure out its total volume. Its huge. lol.
We have 3 apple trees, 3 cherry trees, and 1 nectarine tree in there. We still have to move 3 of those trees into their permanent locations (they are only 1 or 2 year old trees so its still possible to dig them up) and we have to plant a new apricot tree in there. I prepped the two rows for veggies last month but theres alot of weed whacking to do still and plants to move. We have 4 grape vines, 4 blueberry bushes and multiple raspberry plants to move. I started a bunch of veggies from seed and those tomatoes are still in an unused bath tub in my house with a light over them getting bigger every day. I'm looking forward to getting everything planted and done so all this gardening can give me a break.

Well my dryer broke after about 15 years and multiple repairs I've done over those years. I had to buy a new dryer. So far so good. I was finally able to get my laundry done again and my bathroom no longer smells like dirty socks and febreeze.

FML my pressure tank is failing for my well. Its getting replaced next week. Getting a new whole house water filter installed too along with some new valves and safety upgrades. Props to the well company employee for giving me the tip of hooking up an air compressor to the pressure tank to put some air in the bladder to get the system gimping along until the repair work is done. I miss public water. lol.

This has been a busy summer. I'm almost looking forward to winter so I can get a break from all the lawn mowing and outside projects. Hopefully the snow blower I bought this year works good so I'll have alot of free time this winter to get caught up on things. When I've had free time I've been playing Final Fantasy X over the last 5 months and I've somehow finally hit 100 hours on it. Lol. Only took me about half a year.  I still didn't beat it yet but I'm at the end game stuff now with the monster arena and omega ruins.
