Call of Duty: Ghosts Squads Trailer

Sledgstone

Squads introduces a whole new level of competition to Call of Duty: Ghosts. Combining the unrivaled Multiplayer experience with cutting edge AI, Squads lets you play a variety of new game modes with your customized squad-mates. Play solo against another player and their squad, or cooperatively with friends, competing versus an AI-controlled squad. Best of all, the XP earned in Squads is directly connected to your Multiplayer progress!

Making your own custom bots that people can battle against while you are offline seems interesting but unless it allows custom map rotations, why would anyone want to play squad battles when they could just play multiplayer instead? Also, squad vs. squad sounds like it would be a regular multiplayer match considering no AI would be involved in that.

Did you see that Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 was just announced?

j/k. XD

I'm not impressed with this game. It looks very similar to how Black Ops 2 looks.. I'm not seeing any major improvements graphically considering this will be a next gen title.. and the few parts of map destruction they showed is nothing compared to BF3's current engine. The squads feature sounds interesting in terms of making your own AI squad, but other than that its still 6 vs. 6.. so whats the point of squads in a match when it will still basically be team vs. team? With killstreaks in the game, everyone will play every game mode as if it is TDM. Everyone will be a Rambo and there will be no real teamwork. I'll pass on this game for multiplayer. I'll be sticking with Battlefield 4 and Star Wars Battlefront.

I remember at one point reading that all games on Xbox One would require dedicated servers.. but with how MS has been about changing their minds I doubt dedicated servers will be required for COD Ghosts.. which is probably why MS is pleased with it's system's matchmaking system. I'd rather play on dedicated servers and choose what maps and matches I actually want to play in.

I love COD's match making system prior to BOII. That was the worst ever with the wigging out on team selection. You're friends are always on your team, and maps are picked fast. I don't mind the map selection being out of my hands as long as all the maps are good. When they introduced voting though, that pissed me off... I they didn't let you vote for the previous map, I'd be cool with it... but damn I got sick of Hijacked really fast.

Hijacked was fun for the first couple weeks.. then it was the only map ever voted for. So damn annoying. I think everyone voted for it because of the quick kill/death ratio because of how small the map is. Thats all anyone's concern in that game is.. k/d ratio and getting kill streaks. Playing Demolition was pointless in Black Ops 2 because nobody would even try to arm or disarm a bomb.. there would be the occasional split screeners that would actually work together and have one person go in while the other cover them, but other than that, everyone would just play like its TDM so they don't screw up their streak by getting killed while disarming a bomb.. I gave up playing most of the game modes in black ops 2 because it almost never mattered what team won or lost because the majority of players don't care for the objectives.

Hijacked became fun when me and my whole team hid in the underside of the boat with shotguns, shock charges, MM scanners, and trophy systems. XD Now that was fun. I also liked hiding on the top floor with 2 shock charges a trophy and guardian on my score streak. I'd piss so many people off when I had scavenger too and keep getting more shock charges. Opponents would make it their personal vendetta to get me. I had AGR as my final streak and unleash it.

Your right though. Demo use to be my favorite game and they ruined it. I played TDM and 3 way on BOII.

I can see how that would work out because those 2 locations are the only spots on that map where people won't spawn at. I remember spawning, start walking, then an enemy would spawn directly in front of me. The reason the spawning is so screwed on that map is because there only needs to be one enemy on that little ledge overlooking that area for enemies to spawn in that same location. So as soon as I killed that guy, I look up and theres the guy trying to kill everyone thats spawning. I kill him and in those brief few seconds of me doing that, the first person I killed has already re-spawned right behind me and killed me as soon as I finish off the other guy. Almost nobody would go below deck when I played that map. I always used it as a short cut to get to the other staircase. Theres quite a few maps that could possibly re-invigorate the game for me if I could ever get in them.. and feel like playing TDM.

Yeah if you have 4-5 friends, and hold down the bottom of the boat, the other team gets so confused, because they all use the same tactics... eventually after camping in their usual spots they get bored and figure it out. Then rage ensues because they cant get to us through all the shotguns and rockets.. trophy takes care of nades, we all rock tac mask too for flashbangs XD. Since everyone votes for the map twice, at the start of the next round the other team would try to rush down there before we got there, but to no avail. XD XD XD

In typical IW 2.0 fashion. Assault Rifles suck, Shotguns can blast across the map and kill you. Yeah... no thanks. Everyone is going to be using an SMG or shotgun. At least BOII brought some respect back to the Assault Rifles with the FAL, SMR, and the M27.

These videos emphasize the fact that there is no actual teamwork involved in this game. CoD is all about spawning, kill people in a 1 minute time frame before you die and then spawn and repeat. I'd rather play long BF3 Conquest matches or even BF3 TDM than 3-5 minute CoD K/D runs. I remember the longest BF3 match I ever had.. It was about an hour and a half playing Rush on max tickets. F*cking EPIC. :D

BOII assault rifles seemed better than shotguns to me, at least when I was using shotguns. I like how that first video shows the guy getting shot thru a truck. I see they really improved hit accuracy..

I played Conquest on Gulf of Omen 300% Tickets. It was a 2 and a half hour match. I think I went 85-62, ranked up 3 times in my 30s, and got like 190k XP on double XP weekend X'D

Conquest is the way to go on big ticket games for double XP weekend. I got a lot of tank unlocks on that round too.

Thats awesome. I've had some hour+ long conquest matches before, but I don't think I've hit that 2 hour mark before. It must have been intense. :D That 3rd seat tank unlock is a really good upgrade. So many people don't have it or use it, that you can easily jump in almost any tank and hitch a ride while getting laser designations. I loved getting vehicle unlocks.. it was one of the vices of the game for me.. once I got all vehicle unlocks I lost some interest in the game.. Probably because I played it constantly and needed a break. Over 100 hours will do that. XD

Yeah I think I have more flag cap medals and ribbons than anything else because of those 300% ticket conquest matches. We were doing it to get that one assignment where you had to get 2 hours on Omen and 2 hours on that other map.

Meh, I really want COD to be good again, and its hard to let go seeing as how much fun I've had in the past, but I really have to pass on this one. IW 2.0 is content on helping the less skilled player level up free of charge. In fact they've added so many ranks, you blow through them so fast that it isn't special anymore, and in fact you feel cheated if you don't rank up twice in a play session. I remember in MW1, once you hit the 30s it was a long stretch between each rank until 40, and then it would take you as long as it took to get form 35-50, to get from 50 to 55. In fact it was so brutally long, I never prestiged in MW1. :P

Props to them for finally getting rid of Deathsteaks, but gaining xp without playing just doesn't do it for me.

Thats going to happen. There will be some exploit, or a large group that will boost for each other like crazy. Its just asking for boostmania. People wont have to rely on tact inserting in a room and head shooting each other anymore. lol

http://www.joystiq.com/2013/10/24/call-of-duty-ghosts-demands-40gb-of-your-pcs-hard-drive/

Geez, for a game that still looks current gen, thats a lot of damn space and resources to pull... May explain why it might only be in 720p on X1. 40 gigs of space?

Just look at what BF3 required:

http://bf3blog.com/battlefield-3-system-requirements/

Heck even BF4 requires less, and its on a much more massive scale

The one thing COD has going for it over BF is the fact they use steam. Origin is such crap.

I was talking to my brother about the size issue earlier. It got us thinking about how long it will be before the new systems start coming out in larger hard drive variations. If the average game is going to take up around 40-50gb, then we'll only have about 10 games installed at a time on a 500gb hard drive.. less than that once large DLC and patches are released like in BF3.

Yeah BF3 ate up my 20 gig drive by the time the vehicle maps hit on permium. I think this is why both systems are working on cloud gaming as the future. Otherwise, by next gen the consoles will start out with 30tb harddrives and then 500tb, then 30 of whatever will be after terabites. Discs can only hold so much, and there will be a lot of downloading additional assets this gen I believe, thus why outside of what I preordered off my trade in credit, I'll be using the PSN store to digitally download the rest of my games when possible, pending the ability to preorder titles... and I do hope they have preloading as well.

I've been getting ready for spring for the last couple months and its taken up a crazy amount of my free time. We expanded our garden to be really huge last september in preparation for growing fruit and veggies. Then we decided to expand it another 6 more feet in one direction which we finally got finished last weekend. It was alot of work because our garden has an almost 6 foot tall deer fence all around it. We hammered in u-posts into the ground and attached the deer net and buried the bottom of the net so nothing will burrow under it. I should do measurements at some point to figure out its total volume. Its huge. lol.
We have 3 apple trees, 3 cherry trees, and 1 nectarine tree in there. We still have to move 3 of those trees into their permanent locations (they are only 1 or 2 year old trees so its still possible to dig them up) and we have to plant a new apricot tree in there. I prepped the two rows for veggies last month but theres alot of weed whacking to do still and plants to move. We have 4 grape vines, 4 blueberry bushes and multiple raspberry plants to move. I started a bunch of veggies from seed and those tomatoes are still in an unused bath tub in my house with a light over them getting bigger every day. I'm looking forward to getting everything planted and done so all this gardening can give me a break.

Well my dryer broke after about 15 years and multiple repairs I've done over those years. I had to buy a new dryer. So far so good. I was finally able to get my laundry done again and my bathroom no longer smells like dirty socks and febreeze.

FML my pressure tank is failing for my well. Its getting replaced next week. Getting a new whole house water filter installed too along with some new valves and safety upgrades. Props to the well company employee for giving me the tip of hooking up an air compressor to the pressure tank to put some air in the bladder to get the system gimping along until the repair work is done. I miss public water. lol.

This has been a busy summer. I'm almost looking forward to winter so I can get a break from all the lawn mowing and outside projects. Hopefully the snow blower I bought this year works good so I'll have alot of free time this winter to get caught up on things. When I've had free time I've been playing Final Fantasy X over the last 5 months and I've somehow finally hit 100 hours on it. Lol. Only took me about half a year.  I still didn't beat it yet but I'm at the end game stuff now with the monster arena and omega ruins.
