Not going to lie the story looks like shit and the game itself looks like an Advanced Warfare clone but that multiplayer looks fucking amazing and fun as hell. I might just have to pick this up (but then again it'll clash with Battlefront so probably not).

Heh, that's why I'm lucky. Heavensward comes out next week on the 23rd (or the 19th for people like me with early access) so I'll have played the hell out of it before Battlefront and this comes out leaving me plenty of time to play them (if I decide to get BOIII, chances are pretty high after that MP trailer).

So I tried out the Beta tonight since it's the last night and they opened it up to everyone. I completely suck since it's been 4 or so years since I last played a CoD game but my god was it fun. The specializations are quite an interesting turn for me but it makes the game so much more fun (I love the chick with the bow because that bow is freaking powerful). I'll most likely pick this up sometime after Battlefront since I know Battlefront is going to take up the majority of my free time once I get it and I don't need something else drawing my attention away from it. Definitely recommend at least giving the game a try if they have another beta come out before November.

Everyone I killed stayed dead and certain specs required you to be a certain level to play (only 4 or 5 specs were unlocked for new players, don't think Nomad was a popular spec or it wasn't with the people I played with). I saw more of the Android, the asian chick, and the chick I played then anything else. Due to the fast pace of the multiplayer I really don't see rejack being popular because it's faster to just die and respawn (kinda like self-res for locks in Destiny. more useful for certain game types and I'm assuming Team Death Match is not one of them).

Yes there is a chick with the bow and she is bad ass (and her accent makes me think shes Russian). In fact there's 3 female character to play as (a chinese chick and I think either another).

Initial thoughts.

My friends only like TDM for some reason. I'm the only one that likes demolition so I haven't had a chance to play it yet.

TDM: Spawn flips are really bad, but some how spawn trapping is still possible. As usual, I find myself getting shot in the back as soon as I spawn.

Assault Rifles are very poor outside of the IRC-1 so far... It seems all the starting guns are really really bad. ARs are outclassed by SMGs by the time you level one up and slap a stock on it for AR like accuracy. Too many hit markers for ARs.

LMGs are actually decent for the first time since MW2.

That futuristic Model 1887 is OP and needs a nerf asap

Not really digging the specialization class thing. The bow is the only thing I like so far, the flame thrower looks beastly

Suppressors ruin your gun completely... very upset about this more than anything else. The accuracy drop is way too much... hopefully with additional upgrades they will be usable... but seeing as they are one of the first 3 things you unlock for a gun, they aren't worth using from the start.

Frag grenade is garbage.

Only 3 pistols and the first one you get has the best stats.

Higher score streaks aren't worth it... they are only there to serve as care package RNG. UAV/Care Package/Hellfire is what I run.... the RC car thingy sucks, and you can just jump out of its way if you are outside.

Camping is really bad in this game for TDM.

The unlock token system is by far the worst concept they've imagined yet.... BO1 had it perfect with the currency system. In this game you can only unlock 1 thing per level up. You can choose a perk, a gun, or a piece of equipment (nades).

There is no point to higher streaks because the rng on care package is the best it's ever been. I've yet to get a UAV or Counter UAV from one. Demolition had always had good objective play because it's like casual S&D. Domination not so much. Its really hard to stay alive in this game. Triple kills are a feat. Even going 20-6 you don't see a lot of big score streaks. The days of 30+ kills are over. Camping is annoying but it's not helping anyone get good streaks. It is helping them win on TDM tho. Since the maps cater to wall running, there are a lot of tight spaces and long hallways. Now that I have a gun I like and leveled it to have a usable suppressor I'm enjoying it more. Starting out at level 1 is too disadvantagious. Your gear blows.

More thoughts now that I've put some time into it:

This COD is middle of the road. It had potential, but it falls on its face. I'd rank it over MW3 and AW, but its not better than BO1, MW2, MW1, or WAW. The maps are great, but the guns are really bad as a whole, and to make it worse, the guns you get access two around the last 15 levels are greatly superior to the staring weapons... its not even close. The Shevia, Razorback, and the M8 are leaps and bounds better than anything in their respective classes.. the 48 Dredge is about the best thing you get sorta early on. While its an outstanding one burst kill weapon, it has LMG reload speed and it eats through ammo really fast seeing as its a 6 round burst on a 60 round mag. This balance issue is really what kills the game from being really good. (I heard the Razorback was even more OP in the beta).

The perception of casual has really ruined gaming IMO. I see it hurting GW2, Battlefront, or just about any recent mutliplayer game that's AAA recently. Its been hurting COD for a long long time though. It all comes down to the gunplay for COD. In COD4, WAW, and MW2 guns were very leathal, and rewarded you for being good at aiming. BO1 kinda toned down the TTK on guns, but it wasn't that bad... now its just a hitmarker shitfest. Gunplay is so weak, it levels out the playing field for people that can't really aim from target to target fast. TTK is so bad that getting a triple kill should be a trophy or something. I heard Ghosts had an insane TTK, but the maps were so large and empty it ruined the game... not surprising since Infinity Ward 2.0 can't make a map to save their life. BO3 TTK is worse than Battlefield TTK... this type of gunplay doesn't belong in a game where the maps are way smaller and the pace is a lot faster.

COD is suppose to be casual... but purposely programming a game to increasingly punish veterans of the series is not good game design... at least death streaks are gone.

The specialization system is interesting, but you only see 4 of like the 20+ being used. (Gravity Spikes, Sparrow, H.I.V.E., and Purifier), and for good reason, these 4 are better than the rest of them. The only reason you may see a Nomad use Rejack instead of H.I.V.E. or an Outrider using Vision Pulse instead of Sparrow is because they are doing the class challenges.

I think my brother was having similar complaints. He told me he mostly plays hard core now. If its like Battlefield's hard core then I'm guessing the TTK will be way faster. I'm guessing thats why he likes it. Team killing has always kept me out of hard core in BF tho. I'm too trigger happy. I shoot at my own team mates way too often.

Hmmmm, I guess I'm really glad I didn't buy it. While I thought it was fun in the beta it sounds like they nerfed and changed things around (then again I played like 3 matches and didn't pick it back up). I'm also guessing this is why most of the Hardcore Veteran COD gamers are switching to games like CS:GO and Siege since the TTK is so bad now.

The more videos I watch of this game and see the opinions, the sadder I get about the state of FPS. People actually think this COD is good? They think these guns have balance? I'll admit I have fun when playing with a team of 6 friends... but solo this game is straight trash... even duoing it. If MW2 Remastered came out, i have a bad feeling they'd screw it to hell with "balancing"... noob tubing was an issue... but it was a part of the charm that made the game fun.... UMP45, SCAR-H, Vector, and the AUG-HBAR would get nerfed in today's gaming world, along with just about any Pro perk... Cold Blooded Pro? buh bye!

Hell if COD4 was a modern game the MP5, M16, M1014, AK-74u, and RPD would probably have been nerfed into oblivion.... I hate buying a game I like only for the things I like about it to be taken away.... this is what ruined Destiny for me... and this is what I fear for The Division... Dark Zones could take priority over the majority of the game's features... the balancing could revolve around Dark Zone which is what would make me despise the game more than anything.

From videos I've been watching on youtube about the Division it seems Dark Zones are going to be a whole separate entity from the single player/co-op aspect. Apparently (this is second hand info from a guy who has spoken to people who played the Alpha on the XBone) there's a whole separate leveling system for the DZ's, meaning you have you're main level and a DZ level (what the difference is he didn't know but I'm assuming that your SP level means diddly shit in a DZ and vice versa). Also it seems Ubisoft plans to punish us for killing other people in DZ's by taking money and experience from us if we chose to go this route (with our only rewards being the weapons and armor the other PC's drop). I honestly don't know how much truth is in it but if that's the case I don't really see balancing becoming an extremely bad problem like it is for games like Destiny and COD.

Honestly I don't think there's any reason to go into the Dark Zones (apparently NPC enemies are very sparse and the only reason DZ's exist is for the PVP aspect of this game). Apparently gear given to you from quests and pick-ups in the SP aspect are damn good, not as good as what you get in a DZ but honestly why risk going into a DZ and loosing everything you might pick-up for that one chance at getting a Yellow/Orange quality weapon or armor. Quite frankly I figure playing the story with friends, establishing a base, and otherwise sticking to safe zones is all it's about (pending on what we decide if we do the whole squad up aspect like in Destiny). DZ's seems to be for those who a willing to take the XP and Money loss for the chance at being a douche and running around with awesome weapons they didn't earn.

Sadly I don't think FPS games will be anything like they were around COD4's release. Battlefield will always be a great FPS because DICE knows how to listen to us but they have a major problem of releasing buggy ass games that require so much work they don't get to where they're playable until a year in (but lets face it DICE is the only developer that fully supports it's old games as well, BF4 still has a massive player base and I recently just found out that BF3 is still kicking as well). I gave up on COD with Black Ops because I didn't like the MP at all and I'm really glad I've managed to continually talk myself out of buying any of the new ones.

I got to the first prestige and what do you know? The very last gun you unlock is a monster. The M8A7 is a dream come true. 4 round burst, 1-2 burst kill depending on range. Sadly its the only gun I like in this game. As soon as I got it I started ripping off doubles and triples like no ones business... Why every gun doesn't perform like this is beyond me. It would actually make it a great game... at least you can use permanent unlock... something I could only dream of using on the AK-47 on MW2.

I've been getting ready for spring for the last couple months and its taken up a crazy amount of my free time. We expanded our garden to be really huge last september in preparation for growing fruit and veggies. Then we decided to expand it another 6 more feet in one direction which we finally got finished last weekend. It was alot of work because our garden has an almost 6 foot tall deer fence all around it. We hammered in u-posts into the ground and attached the deer net and buried the bottom of the net so nothing will burrow under it. I should do measurements at some point to figure out its total volume. Its huge. lol.
We have 3 apple trees, 3 cherry trees, and 1 nectarine tree in there. We still have to move 3 of those trees into their permanent locations (they are only 1 or 2 year old trees so its still possible to dig them up) and we have to plant a new apricot tree in there. I prepped the two rows for veggies last month but theres alot of weed whacking to do still and plants to move. We have 4 grape vines, 4 blueberry bushes and multiple raspberry plants to move. I started a bunch of veggies from seed and those tomatoes are still in an unused bath tub in my house with a light over them getting bigger every day. I'm looking forward to getting everything planted and done so all this gardening can give me a break.

Well my dryer broke after about 15 years and multiple repairs I've done over those years. I had to buy a new dryer. So far so good. I was finally able to get my laundry done again and my bathroom no longer smells like dirty socks and febreeze.

FML my pressure tank is failing for my well. Its getting replaced next week. Getting a new whole house water filter installed too along with some new valves and safety upgrades. Props to the well company employee for giving me the tip of hooking up an air compressor to the pressure tank to put some air in the bladder to get the system gimping along until the repair work is done. I miss public water. lol.

This has been a busy summer. I'm almost looking forward to winter so I can get a break from all the lawn mowing and outside projects. Hopefully the snow blower I bought this year works good so I'll have alot of free time this winter to get caught up on things. When I've had free time I've been playing Final Fantasy X over the last 5 months and I've somehow finally hit 100 hours on it. Lol. Only took me about half a year.  I still didn't beat it yet but I'm at the end game stuff now with the monster arena and omega ruins.
