I enjoyed that Strike mission. But I hope they have more enemy boss varieties. I fought enough Devil Walkers and giant Robot Eyeballs, that I'm looking forward to something new.

I'm sure there will be, but maybe not in Old Russia. That seems to be Fallen territory even though the Hive are lingering around... The Wizard seems to be the most powerful of the Hive we've seen so far and he only seems to be the equivalent of a Fallen Captain.... We've seen nothing from the Vex, or those that await us on Mars.

Because of my shit ass work schedule the only time I've been on at the same time as Strider is when I was downloading the beta. I have yet to play any game with him.... This is exactly why I took a whole week off for launch. I look forward to finally doing strike missions together with all 3 of us.

Yea, you need to fix that damnit. The last time I got to play a game with you was the WaW beta. Gah, damn screwy ass work schedules (I know I hate mine, only gives me 2 hours at most to play with Sledge when I do get on before work).

I think the Vex are on Venus so once we're able to start doing storyline missions on Venus we'll get to see them. Same goes for the Cabal, I believe they're on Mars solely so we won't get to see them till we start playing on Mars. I really look forward to release. Even though the beta did get old I still had fun and if that's what we get to look forward to for release this will be an amazing game (hell it's already an amazing game). I'm hoping there's more to Earth then Old Russia because we have a huge planet to play on and if all we get is Russia I'm going to be really pissed.

Maybe its staggered. Old Russia is all we'll have to start with and after you visit other places, you get called back to Earth for another location.

The Wizard is more of an annoyance than the Fallen Captain, so I'm looking forward to seeing what the stronger Hive monsters are like. The Cabal look like a bunch of bad asses. The Fallen take cover, but the Cabal look like more in your face brutes. In the Beta, each enemy type AI had its own behavior... it's going to be interesting to see how these other races act during combat.

The Wizard was nothing compared to those Captains.

Turns out that Moon mission was short, but the explorable area was actually pretty big if you ignored the mission. I didn't get the chance to explore, but you can see some of that area in this video:

This looks like it could be a mission or a new hub of operation later in the game. I'm going towards a Mission.

Yeah there are story missions, grinder missions, and strikes... but Bungie said the hardest challange would be the Vault of Glass... and this is called a vault so perhapse there is 1 vault per planet/moon?

Ah now it makes more since why Wizards seemed so weak compared to Captains. I always used Solar damage weapons. If this stays the same I guess I'll set my loadout to always have one of each type of damage.

That was a very informative video. Thanks for posting it. Most of my weapons were solar or void damage. Those fallen captains were a bastard because we had no arc / blue elemental weapons.. This also makes another distinction for the three classes. Titan's super does arc / blue damage, Warlock's super does void / purple damage and Hunter's super does solar / red damage. Now that I know this, when I play as a hunter I'll make sure to have a blue and purple weapon and then save my super for when I see Wizards.

Ok.. so this got me thinking and I checked a video I uploaded from the alpha. I remember 1 hit killing a wizard and now it makes sense. I shot it with a rocket launcher that had a solar / red element. If I pause the video I can see the red element damage number too.

Go to 6:39

The elements make much more sense now.

Walmart and best buy have both started canceling destiny ghost and limited edition pre orders because of over selling. I haven't heard anything from game stop so I'm assuming those orders will be fine.

http://www.vg247.com/2014/08/06/destiny-limited-ghost-edition-per-orders-cancelled-best-buy/

I wonder how many ebay sellers bought the hell out of them just to resell. It's like they are concert ticket scalpers.

Gamestop should be safe because they sell a very limited quantity to begin with. I'm pretty harsh on them but I think they're pretty well organized when it comes to these types of things. I assume they order a certain amount, and allot them accordingly to each store based on market reserving a large portion for online orders. If you don't claim a copy within the first few days, they run out. As I've said before I missed out on a few special editions waiting too long. I remember picking up the MGS4 limited edition a few years ago only because someone cancelled out on their preorder on launch day. Wal-Mart doesn't surprise me, but Best Buy does... that piss poor managment for a company that has been losing sales against Amazon.... whom I believe also stopped selling them within 24 hours. I believe Gamestop and Amazon are atop the priority chain, and if they start cancelling, I'd have to put the blame on Bungie for either production issues, or a miscalculation in what they promised to retailers. Wal-Mart is definitely at the bottom of that chain... never preorder from Wal-Mart... EVER.

I got screwed by gamestop years ago when I pre-ordered Prince of Persia Warrior Within.. I was suppose to get an artbook with the pre-order. I went there after work, got my game.. which was actually opened.. they put the game back in the case and stickered it closed. wtf. and then they informed me they never received any of the artbooks and that I should have pre-ordered at their other location in the large mall instead because "all the pre-order bonuses are shipped there."

That game was for PS2 and it was the last game I bought at any physical gamestop location until I picked up Watch Dogs for PS4 a few months ago. If they screw up my Destiny pre-order, I probably wont buy a game at this store again until the Playstation 6 is released. :P

Yeah that was an actual practice back then that they eventually took a lot of heat for within the gaming media circles. They opened every copy and removed bonuses and what not if you didn't preorder from them. I remember those stickers. XD

I'm pretty sure I still have some games with those stickers. Last time I was there I bought their $15 a year membership for the magazine subscription. If not for the magazine the membership seems rather pointless. Aside from a small discount on used games it offers no significant savings.

Now they have powerup rewards. You get points for trading in and buying. I'm up to 18,779 points. I'm starting to think its a scam however... at least to get the bigger rewards. You can spend 16,000 to get $10 off a game... mind you that it took trading in all my systems, and buying 5 PS4 games, one that was Ghost Edition Destiny to get that far. However, back when I was at 10,000 there was a ClapTrap statue that went for 16,000 I could have sworn. When the clerk at Gamestop notified me that I was at 16,000, I go to log in and the statue is 19,000 -_-;. The ClapTrap is no longer available and now all the cool figurines are 22,000 points now... and there is a 24" Godzilla I want... but I'm sure it will be 26,000 when I get to 22,000. XD

lmao. That is just like the tickets system at the Putt-Putt arcade I always went to as a kid. I could have gotten a Super Star Wars game for SNES in their prize case for 8,000 tickets. It took me almost 2 years to acquire that many.. I played so much skee-ball. lol. One day the game disappeared. I don't think anyone claimed it. The manager probably gave it to his kid. I kept getting more tickets in hope of it returning. Other games popped up in that case over that time and the prices kept going up. By the time I hit 8,000 tickets the only SNES game they had at that point was F-Zero and it was 25,000 tickets. wtf. I stopped my pursuit and traded my tickets in. I got 2 crappy particle wood airplanes that probably cost $0.25 at the dollar store. Both airplanes broke that afternoon.

I enjoyed the multiplayer in the alpha, but I tried a couple Iron Banner matches in the beta and I doubt I'll ever play Iron Banner matches again. The regular crucible matches were somewhat balanced in terms of levels but not weapons.. but the Iron Banner matches were all players and weapons unbalanced with full level advantages. All the people sitting on their sh*t buckets that played 20 hours a day must have enjoyed it because I didn't stand a chance in that, at least in the matches I got into.

It was ridiculous. We were all capped at level 8 but ppl must have farmed the strike for the best level 8 gear there was and it made a huge difference in the iron banner matches.

Bungie teamed up with Google Maps to make Destiny Planet View and if you view all the cut scenes in it, you can unlock an emblem code for your Destiny account. Or you can skip viewing everything and use the following code to unlock the emblem: 7F9-767-F74

Visit DestinyPlanetView.com

This is your chance to walk through the Moon, Mars, and Venus of Destiny, using Google’s familiar exploration tools.

Explore the future, meet our enemies, discover hidden treasures, and prepare to Become Legend.

Pre-order Destiny and prepare to take back what’s ours on September 9.

Upon redeeming this code, I noticed that the 17 trading card codes now show what they unlock.. Grimoire Cards. I'm waiting until the game releases before I click those "Use Now" buttons. If you haven't redeemed those codes yet, click Here for the full list.

Although its also on the PS4, I purchased Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana for the Switch recently because it's just been collecting dust. It was probably the better option anyways because the graphics look like something out of the N64/PS2 era with modern draw rates. Not a knock against it, as its quite charming... but the game looks like it belongs on the Switch rather than PS4. Everything about this game is so 1998. I've never played any of the Ys games before, but this one caught my eye for the old school hack and slash. It's very Dark Cloud-ish minus the world building. Sprinkle some old Zelda in there as well. The combat is relatively simple with 1 button main attack, and 4 special attacks that consist of holding R1 and pressing A B Y X. These use a SP meter that replenishes on kills. There are also dodge and block counters that give you a special speed combo ability. You have a party of 3, and characters that join where you can swap them out and swap between the three in combat. Each character has a assigned damage type (Slash, Precise, Bash). Having all 3 types helps weaken the right enemies susceptible to these plus you get a rare drop bonus... rather than the 1.1x bonus for having two of the same. Anyways, the story is campy but interesting, the dialogue is 90's cringeworthy, and its a lazy sprinkle of actual voice acting and text reading. The world is  large but a bunch of sectioned off instances that quickly load without a loading screen as you cross them. There are fast travel points but not in every sector, so it requires some old school memorizing where to go at times. As you get special gear, you'll find places that were inaccessible previously open up. I'm 20 hours in and I don't feel like I'm even half way through. So at $60, I feel like I'm getting my money's worth for a decent nostalgia kick. I bet this will be a free PS Plus game next year so when it comes up I highly recommend it without even finish it. I'll report back when I beat it with a proper review.

Its been quite the stressful couple weeks. Lady had her surgery and is having a very slow recovery process. My bank required specific repairs to the garage to approve the mortgage and instead of paying a massive price to a contractor me and my friend spent 2 days this last weekend busting our asses in 90 degree days with 90% humidity and full sun working on the garage. Thats all done and accepted now.. Yay. Getting into the final stretch here with the house. Hopefully I'll be moving by the end of the month. I might actually have free time this weekend... finally. *knocks on wood*

The first two eps of AoT season 3 are better than season 2 in its entirety.

Originally I wasn't going to say anything until I actually finished watching the series (which should be Monday or Tuesday night) but you were right DX, The Ancient Magus' bride is spectacular and I say this after only watching 15 episodes.
I have to say it's up there with Violet Evergarden for both visuals and story (and it's been awhile since I've seen a show that has completely drawn me in to the point that I sacrifice sleep just to watch another episode). I honestly didn't think the premise would suck me in this much but I'm glad it did (and both episodes with Nevin were extremely well done (I shed some manly tears they were so emotionally impacting)).
I honestly have to say this is probably going down as one of my favorites shows from the last few years (which isn't really hard considering my problems with the last few seasons), only taking second to the masterpiece that was Violet Evergarden. I can't recommend this show enough for those who want a story driven show focused on character development and world building (I'm just sad I only have 8 episodes and 3 OVA's left, really hope this gets another season once the manga gets further along).

This simuldub season is pretty meh compared to last. If it wasn't for the fact that MHA and out of all things; Black Clover was still running. I'd be hard pressed to keep up. Ep 1 of Overlord season 3 felt like a waste of time, but the second one made things pretty interesting. Angels of Death seems kind of bland so far. How not to Summon a Demon Lord is a typical fanservice trapped in a video game world show. Same goes for The Master of Ragnarok & Blesser of Einherjar. Lord of Vermilion feels like a better Tokyo Majin.. which isn't saying much. Hopefully it will be something better. Harukana Receive is bouncy bikini beach volley ball, but Haruka is a total best girl, so I'll shamelessly enjoy it. On the opposite end, I'll skip Free! because I'm not watching a bunch of dudes swim, and I'm already watching HR and Hanebado... an anime about freakin Badminton. With Dies Irae and AoT not staring until later in the month that leaves three unlikely contenders for a surprise best in season for me, that isn't Overlord or AoT which I already expect to be solid at worst.
Magical Girl Raising Project is apparently a dark ass violent series with cute moe magic girls. A total clash of genres. The first two eps only have brief hints at it so far, its mostly just cutesy. But if it turns out like I think it has the potential too. It should be pretty interesting.
Chio's School Road is a "school" anime thats about Chio's walk to school every day, instead of the actual school day. The absolute absurd happens apparently every time. The first three eps have been pretty hysterical so far. Its different, so I like it.
Island is a pretty big mystery to me as to what its suppose to be about. It has my interest to see how it unfolds. It can honestly go either way. I guess I'll be reviewing these at the end of the season and we'll see how my opinions have changed since this status update.
